InStyle Wednesday Challenge

Hi! I got a chance to play again this week for the InStyle Blog Wednesday challenge! And this week it is Birthdays! LOL it seems like all the challenges are needing some birthday cards! But hey I always need more b-day cards! And for my card this week I chose to use the InStyle Retro image Dan and Mandy I love how universal this image is! And heck they are eating ice cream so that is just a bonus!

I colored up my image with my Copics and then doodled around it - then matted on a scrap piece of dark orange paper. Now I knew I wanted to use my Cuttlebug embossing folder for this card - been forever since I have pulled it out and used it, so I dusted it off and ran a piece of yellow core-dination card stock thru it. Then very very lightly sanded it. I found a piece of Cloud 9 pattern paper that had all the same colors I was using - love that!

I made a border with the Martha Stewart Double dot scallop punch - now I at first had the punch on the edge of the card - and at the last minute before sticking it down I flipped it - Seemed to really work better in the center. I added the green ribbon as a band and then the yellow embossed paper just seemed huge! So I found an orange ribbon to place as a center band, was just going ribbon wild! LOL...

Then those flowers.. love those Prima's! I added the white gel pen stitching to them, but love how they have shape to them. Punched out some Martha frond leaves and added a couple of buttons! Ta Da! It all came together really quick!

Do jump on over and check out the InStyle Challenge... great prize of cool digital images!

Happy Birthday to A Spoon Full of Sugar!!!

Yes, that is right we are Celebrating the Birthday of A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge Blog! And the "gifts" will be FIVE great prizes to the random people who take part this week! You read right this week there will be 5 winners chosen so make sure to make a Celebration card and submit it! Thank you to our 5 sponsors this week -Whiff of Joy, Whimsy Stamps, Roses on Paper, Nutcrafters and Silly Monkey Crafts.

My card this week is a called "Lily & Milo - Congratulations" by Rachelle Anne Miller and Stampavie.

I just love how sweet Lily and Milo look - and love balloons - I colored with my Copics and then stitched down on a scrap piece of light blue card stock.

For my Card I started with a white card stock as the base, then my papers are from DCWV Whimsy stack - really fun spring/summer colors and love all that glitter! I used my new EK Success border punch on a scrap of yellow card stock - I then sewed everything together. The Hero Arts sentiment is stamped on the same light blue card stock and then punched out with the large Fiskar's Heart Squeeze punch, then gel pen stitched around the edges.

I hope you will join in this week! We would love you to Celebrate with us at A Spoon Full of Sugar!

Today is clean up for me... yes I have nice wonderful cool air - our new unit is in! But lots to clean up. And Hubby has to repair a pipe when he gets home from work. Why is it when you are fixing one thing something else always goes wrong? One of the men accidentally broke a water pipe, Hubby patched it for the night as we didn't have the parts to fix it correctly, so he at least got it where water wasn't shooting out of the side of our house and we could turn the water back on - but tonight he will have to really get into it and fix it correctly. Sounds like a "fun" evening huh?

Hope you all have a great Tuesday -

It is time for Stampavie's Monday Challenge!

Have you joined in on the new Stampavie Challenge yet? Well this week is week 4 and the challenge is a color challenge -

“Use Light Blue or Turquoise & Brown”. Make a card or any other handmade item using at least one Stampavie image and light blue or turquoise & brown in any way you can imagine. You will have time to join the fun until May 31th 12:00 blog time."

Now I normally pick my image then match my papers to the image, then color - Well this time I had some papers that I was just dying to use, you saw just a sneak of these papers on last Friday's Tilda card but this shows it off much better. It is just too cute - And I knew I wanted to use Rachelle Ann Miller's Cuddle Up image with this paper - heck I bought the whole pad of paper just cuz I fell in love with this pattern! LOL It is from Debbie Mum's JoAnn's Nursery Rhyme stack.

Now since the challenge was blue and brown... I started with a dark brown card stock - then to pull more of the blue out of my pattern paper I found a scrap of light blue card stock that I ran through my Cuttlebug Swiss dot embossing folder. Now that pattern paper, I just cut along the scallop of the pattern and then stuck it down -

My image is colored with my Copics - I went more for a dark grey look on the sheep - was trying to go with the wording on the paper "Baa Baa Black Sheep" but black sheep are hard to color you know! LOL I matted the image with a piece of the brown card stock and then ran a white lace ribbon across the card and attached the image with pop dots. Those 4 buttons are from Grandma's button tin... Then I just white gel pen stitched the edges of the brown card stock and done! Except for that one thing that I just have to do for these little sheep... yep I don't know why but I always go back and stickle them for some bling ;0)

Once again I decorated the inside and forgot to take a photo.. duh!

Well gotta shake a leg - the air conditioner men are on their way.. yep we have to have a new unit put in - so they will be her all day. Hope you Monday is better than mine! And oh I hope they get everything in and working by the end of the day or we will have no air tonight - at least it isn't as hot as it was last week.

And don't forget to check out the Stampavie Challenge!!! Seriously you want to win one of Heidi's prize packages.... oh my you really want to win one of these... ;0)

Alota Guy Card Challenge -

HI... sorry this is a late morning post today - went to breakfast, then I was messing with the settings on my camera and pulled out an old lens to see if it was better than I was using - uh no.. and now all my settings are messed up! So once done here I will have to keep working with that - I have all these lenses, filters and camera equipment that was my fathers - we was a very talented artist and a great photographer - I know all this stuff I have could do some really cool things and I could really take much better photos than I do if I could learn how to use it all - I think I need to take a class somewhere - do you think they teach between 2-3am? I think I could fit it in there! LOL

Now a card today - and it is for the New challenge on the PCP Alota Rubber Stamps group. This time Cheryl has the challenge - and she called for Cards for Men - which is great for Father's Day as well - Me.. I just was having fun with a brand new Alota image and then pulled out one I have had forever and put them together! First I colored up the beach house or is that a shack? From the Surf's Up collection. Anyway I colored up the little beach house with my Copics - it really was all I had planned for the card - then I remembered this perfect little sleeping man in the boat.. now it also had a fishing pole coming out of the boat.. oops.. as I was trying to stick it down to the card... it came off - and you know fishing is too much work anyway so this dude is just chillin' -

The card stock is Core-dinations that I sanded the edges, the pattern papers are My Minds Eye.. they sand well too - I used an EK Success border punch for the zig zag border - love that it embosses a stitch on there too. I added 6 dew drops, and then some Cloud 9 sticker stitches. Doodled the edges and my sentiment is a Cloud 9 epoxy sticker. Love the sentiment!

I hope you will join in this challenge - really any Alota image and if it is for a guy and it qualifies and the prize? Well the entire Surf's Up collection!!! That light house in the set is fabulous! well heck they are all fun - Please join in!

Well hope you have a great Sunday- me.. working on my camera :0) And watching the Yankee game!

LOTS of Photos for Donkey/Libbie Day!

There are some weeks where I just can't seem to get on good photo.. well this week I had too many!!! Love that -

SO I know first I know I had better show some baby donkey photos! Cali is a pure joy! She is really stunning - and very sweet. She still amazes me how independent she is - most babies are stuck right next to their Mom.. they move across the pen so does baby... but not Cali - if she gets hot and wants out of the sun, she leaves Mom and goes into the barn and lays down. Now once they move out of the Birth pen in a week or so we will see if that independence is still there -
Now this photo I loved, but almost didn't show it cuz her face is "dirty"... uh ya... but oh well I just loved Lacey's head over Cali's and well messy kids are part of life right?

Now many of you are probably asking where is the second baby? Well Vicki is still very pregnant - she put everything on hold this week - I guess she decided that she just wasn't ready to have the baby and share the spot light with Lacey and Cali - can't be to long now...
I asked her if she would please have it today for me.. and she said no not yet....LOL!
Now we needed Dad to come home from work Friday and save the barn door!.... he had to rescue the entrance to the barn as it was blocked by a fallen tree!!! So Dad and his "toy" ahem... important farm tool.... to the Rescue!!!
A large limb broke right in front of the barn door during the afternoon - the three stooges couldn't get in or out and it had really squashed a couple of the pens - So Dad came in with his tractor and pulled out the larger pieces and made sure everyone was safe. Notice how "afraid" the Donkeys are of the tractor... We have to be very careful when running the tractor in the pens... they run against it and some try and bite the moving tires! To them it is a big orange play toy that Dad is riding- we try and close them off anytime we need the tractor around.
Luckily today Dad could work safely on the outside of the pen... but he was fun to watch! You can see how big the limbs that broke are... really did a number on a few of the pipe fences... WOW really bent them up good!I got some other great photos but I think I am going to wait on those... other than a couple of Libbie photos I took this morning - where did my little puppy go?

ok, so she is still LITTLE, but the puppy has grown into a little girl...

Well hope you enjoyed my photos today - We are expecting rain today - might be what Vicki is waiting for... the cool front bringing the rain. If not I'll still be here waiting for her -
Hope you have a great Saturday, with wonderful fun plans!

Just Magnolia - A Great Sketch!

Just Magnolias time! And this week there is a great sketch from our DT Naoual! This sketch is so fun! I loved working with it - This was a perfect sketch to pull on one of my New Tildas... how adorable is she with this little lamb? Just love it! I colored her up with my Copics - and then went to work with the sketch.
Now I knew right off I wanted to use the Debbie Mum's Nursery papers, there were papers in the collection that have the cutest sheep - so I cut the border off of one of the papers, then found this cute flower paper in the collection as well.
The base is a grass green color card stock, then a background of Bazzill Dotted Swiss. Love that Dotted Swiss paper - For my flowers I pulled out my Copics and air compressor again - sprayed some white flowers with a couple of shades of yellow, then centered them with green brads and the leaves from Martha Stewart Frond punch - for the circles on the three corners I used Making Memories mini button brads. Then white gel pen stitched the edges. My sentiment is a Heidi Grace epoxy sticker.

I hope you will join in this week the sketch is great and their is a prize from All That Scraps!

So what are your weekend plans? Me.. home, working on a few projects and watching Donkeys ;0)

Have a great one -

YOU WANNA WALK THE PLANK?

Well you might if you could get this new set at the end of it! Take a look at this sneak peek "Matey"! Well I love all of this months new releases from The Greeting Farm.. but this set Matey is my favorite! I think it is that soft spot I have for that cutie Captain Jack ;0) - But seriously this is a whole set of stamps that are all wonderful - me.. for my card just pulled out the Captain!I have colored with my Copics and then cut him out with my Fiskar's kraft knife. I even made his face just a bit dirty as do you really know a pirate that is clean?Man I am going to have to spend a whole day cleaning up my crafting area... first yesterday's Surfer Ian's wave paper - then when working on today's card I literally pulled everything off the shelves looking for this paper - I knew I had purchased this 7 gypsies pirate/treasure map paper - I had always thought I would make a scrapbook page about my nieces and Hubby's love of the Pirate movies - they do quotes to each other all the time - oh well I don't really scrapbook hardly any so ... the paper had a higher calling!

Because the paper was just so perfect I really didn't want to cover to much of it up - There is two pieces here the treasure map - then I cut the border off of a second piece, in person you can tell that is a large black ribbon across the middle above the cross bones. I added the four pieces of jewelery spacers with gold brads - and then one extra gold brad for the Captain's ear ring. I then doodled the edges with my Sakura Glaze pen. I also decorated the inside with scraps of the paper... duh forgot to take a photo of it.

You just must visit the Club Anya Blog and see some of the others Matey cards - and visit the DT for even more! There is a Virtual Stamping "Luau" is all set to begin at 8pm CST! We look forward to seeing all of you on the PCP page and Club Blog too for your official release and contest winners info.

Well that is it for me today ... running out the door - Vicki looks like she is wanting to wait until the weekend... so I am going to run a few errands as quick as I can this morning - I'll be back later to do my visiting -
