Just Magnolias and Hanglar's- My Favorite Things

HA! I am totally loosing it! I am in such high gear trying to get ready for CHA - and Hubby is totally re-doing my kitchen. My house is a disaster, and so is my brain! I went to bed yesterday KNOWING that it had been Wednesday all day... Hubby says.. uh no - it is THURSDAY... NO I LOST A DAY??? And I didn't write my Friday post! But honestly, I was just to worn out and tired to get out of bed. Funny... I am going to go off to CHA and rest! LOL

So a bit late, here is my FRIDAY - Just Magnolia's and Hanglars Post!

Today's challenge is to use all of your favorite things when making this card! How fun is that! And I am still getting a kick out of the fact that we are now able to use Hanglar and Stanglar images...
This is one of my favorite Hanglar images... and one that haunted me forever! I SO wanted this image when I first saw it. I totally loved it. Yep.. me the girl that hates to clean and do chores! So not only was this stamp nearly impossible for me to get cuz it was a Hanglar.. but then it was a harder to find Hanglar to boot! But I just kept on dreaming of it. A wonderfully sweet blogging friend sent me a few stamped out. But those went quick. And then one day another Blogging Friend casually mentioned she was ordering a few Hanglars... REALLY.. can I add to your order just a little. AND there it was! I was able to order her and a couple of others! REAL Rubberstamps!!! I adore her.. and I love to color her.

So when I had to pick a favorite stamp I knew just which one I was choosing. Then I went for my papers - I love the colors on these, and the fact that they have just a bit of glitter to them. They are My Minds Eye "Laundry Line" - ok.. yes kind of funny that the name of the papers, and the image go so well together huh? But these are actually some of my very favorite papers too. I cut out different layers with an off white card stock base and a light blue mat. I then cut out A Nesties that fit perfectly under my very large image. whew.. barely.  Lacey Square's is a one of the newer Nesties for me. And I think it is perfect for these larger images, to give them some delicate matting. Everything is sewn together, as I love doing that you know. I then added my favorite Mulberry roses, and a Just Rite Sentiment.

This card made me happy - maybe it was knowing I got to use all of my favorite things? Now you make a favorite card and join us at Just Magnolias and Hanglar Stanglar!

Me... I gotta run - Hubby is gonna start yelling that I am holding him up! We are running into town for a few last minute kitchen re-do items.... and I don't want him picking out the back splash tile with out me!!!  I would have to live with it forever, cuz I don't see us doing this kitchen over in many many many years!

HUGS and have a wonderful Friday!

Me and My Space #12 - All Messy and some Dies

Hello and Happy Wednesday - The plan for today's Me and My Space post was to show you how I store my Spellbinders and other metal dies. But you see I have just been one crazy crafter - with a lot of other normal household stress going on this past week. Craft wise I am just working up a storm projects for CHA - business wise and pretty new images wise.

You need Proof - well here goes the false image that I am all organized and clean in my craft room...
Yes this is my desk right now... oops should have hid that Hershey's chocolate bar huh? You can see I also craft with the remote and the phone right there with me too... LOL  OH my how embarrassing ... HA!

So since I can't lay out my Metal Dies storage for you.. I'll show you a cleaner area of my craft room today and show the Metal Dies later- and how is that for a teaser for a future Wednesday post?

Today I will start to show you one of my Drawer Cabinets.. I have two of these. Hubby bought them for me when I moved into my craft room, we found them at a local store called El Paso Imports... I love that store! Most of the furniture in my house is from them :0) This cabinet sits next to my wall of stamps I have shown before. And please excuse the puppy pen.. still one puppy left in the house - we are getting really attached to Miss Chica now!
Love all these drawers!!!!
Now sitting on top of it is my Big Shot Pro - I drove myself crazy deciding whether or not to purchase this or a regular Big Shot when my Cuttlebug gave it up and went to crafting heaven. I as SO GLAD I saved for a couple of more months and went for the BIG PRO! One it is blue and white and matches my room.. but two - I can use it for anything! Any die - Any brand! And this thing is sturdy! Love it!

Now to the drawers - -
The top drawer is my less used inks. The bottles to the left, those were a weak moment at a scrapbook convention a couple of years ago. Oh they are wonderful - and I have used them. They are a dye ink with sponge tops. But I don't use them enough to justify the cost of them really. Then you see my little bottles of crackle paint. I have had these forever since the moment they came on the market.. I had to own them, I taught a few classes with them, and have used them a ton... but when I went to pull one out last week and use.. they are drying up!!!! OH I nearly cried!  Then you see my other inks.. Stays Ons - Brilliance - a few Stampin up - Versifine - Palettes? (didn't like these after I got them, many are still sealed... shame) and then my make up sponges. I love using these for lots of inky projects.

Second drawer please...
This drawer has my smaller Sizzix Dies in it. Good thing I don't buy many of these any more. I have had these forever, and do still use them from time to time. Love some of the fonts of the letters. But the drawer is full so I guess that stops me from getting more right? Hubby will say yes here.... LOL

But the shelf on the other side of the stamp wall.. and next to my ribbon storage.. well that is where I store the larger dies... you know those really cool dies that my PRO can handle...
I can't add to this collection now... but I am sure in time I will have to dedicate an entire shelf to these babies! They are just too fun! I have some of all the sizes here.. regular, Bigz, and Pro's...

So there are two of the six drawers in my first cabinet - too be continued for the other 4 here and the other 6 in the second cabinet :0)

Now how about a winner for that bakers twine I offered up last week???

True Random Generator - Result - 23!

The winner is....

This solution sure looks cool, and is just what I need too. I´ve been using a big basket for all my scraps, but it´s almost impossible to find what I´m looking for, when I need it, so I often end up with just grabbing a new sheet then instead of using a scrappiece, as it takes too long to find, so this seems like an awesome idea. Thanks soo much for sharing all these great tips with us, and thanks for the chance to win this. I never saw this before, so I don´t know it, but it loooks pretty cool, I must say.

Thanks Maryann!! If you can please email me at michelleo@hughes.net I will get your twine out to you ASAP!

This was fun to do a little mini candy for a shorter time. I do believe I will be popping in more of these on a regular basis :0)

Well.. better go and check on Hubby - he is re-doing my kitchen... much needed! And I can't wait for the end result! A kitchen as nice and cute as my craft room! Thanks so much for visiting me - your visit really makes me happy!

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Thank you!

Hello  - First an apology... I totally missed Dust it Off Sunday this past week!!! Between being gone all day Saturday to deliver Minnie to her new owners, and then getting things done for CHA - well, I am a bit scattered and behind!  Sorry - But I can say I have LOTS to show you once CHA starts :0)

Today though is Spoon Full of Sugar  and the challenge is  Thank you. We all need to have a few of those on hand for when needed, and me. I have been digging through my stamps and decided that my Stampavie's Leere Aldrich images needed some ink! I just adore these images, they are just so fun and so perfect for your friends!
And how fun to play paper dolls with them! LOL I love to paper piece dresses :0) I then colored with my Copics -
I used Sassafras Indie Girl pattern papers, love how fun these papers are and they were perfect for this Leere "Sisters" image.  I used the same patterns for the card that I used for their dresses, and zig zag stitch to hold everything down. I cut the image with My Nesties Label 4  Die. For some added fun bling.. I added a pearl flourish and pearl flowers.
Now I made the card as an easel card, I just loved the patterns and the colors so much I wanted it to be able to sit up and be enjoyed. - the bottom is done the same as the top with a Hampton Arts sentiment.

Make sure to visit A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge to see all the DT Thank you Cards, then join us for a chance as a GREAT prize!

Me... gotta run off quick this morning. Besides me working on everything to get ready for CHA - Hubby is re-doing my kitchen! Yep it is busy in our house, as usual! LOL

HUGS and have a wonderful Tuesday!

Animal Crackers - Bye Bye Minnie :0)

Ok, as I did with Reno--- I am dedicating this post today to my child that is leaving today - YES... Minnie is leaving us today. We sold her this week, and this morning we are meeting up with her new Mommy to deliver her.... This one is gonna be hard people!!! I have gotten so attached to these two little girls here. :0)   I mean common people LOOK AT THIS FACE!!!!

I know.. melted your heart didn't that!!!  But I need to let all of you know. I really think her new Mom and Dad are going to be wonderful. I have spoken to her new Dad about a million times this week, and I really like him, and it sounds like his wife and I would really get along well.  And I do think they are going to share Minnie's life with us and send photos.... that makes me feel so good. Just wish they were closer so I could visit Minnie.. but they are about oh... 6 hours from us. So I will just have to settle for photos for now :0) We will miss her terribly -
But as much as we are going to miss her... I think this little girl is gonna miss her even more. The plan is to let her out of puppy area more and out with her Mom and Dad... I am so nervous about that, and before we do, I think I am rolling up all my rugs for now - better than the alternative. Other than playtime outside.. the puppies are kept in my craft room, they don't roam the house, to save my floors, and to make sure the weaning went well. Well they are long weaned now, they don't even try to sneak a meal from Libbie now while outside - now by letting her into the house my floors are the only danger, but I just can't stand her being alone - and her Daddy, Autie is amazing with the puppies. So I think it is best while we are home - to let her free.

Besides... I have looked at this sad face and just can't stand it any more either.....

Now how sad is that? My little jailbird Libbie - now you would think that this long sad face is because I have her separated from her babies. No.. she really is pretty much done with the kids - a few minutes of sniffing and cleaning up from time to time, but this look is because this girl loves to be in my craft room... and she wants in NOW... LOL in a day or so Libbie, the entire house will be yours again baby...

So lets all see one more photo of Libbie's second born child.. "her" girl  - the copy of her Mom  in  her looks, but even more in her personality - Minnie
Oh man this is going to be hard...

Just Magnolias and Hanglars - Anything Goes with Maybe a Button?

Hello and Happy Friday! And Friday is Just Magnolias and Hanglars day! Love that addition to the title don't you - just wish I could get more of these stamps easier :0)

But this week I dug into my valuable stash of stamped images - I have made the most amazing Blogging Friends over the years, and a few of them have been kind enough to send me stamped Hanglars so I could play with more than the 1/2 dozen I have acquired over the last 3 years.. yep only 6 of them over 3 years~! And I am very proud of those! Anyway I dug through my stamped images and came across with this adorable knitting girl - too cute! Love that basket of yarn.
Now being totally honest here - I had a lot of trouble coloring this one! I am so use to my Papertrey ink paper - that is REALLY thick - and I don't know what kind of paper this is stamped on but it is a thinner stock. The ink moves well on it, but it also bleeds much more than my usual paper... so I have some boo boo's - I was going to pitch it - but I just can't waste a stamped Hanglar image!!!! It is so rare!   So I decided that I would go with the bit of blur look, and hope that you all understand.

While coloring I went to look for papers, so I could make her dress match of course. And found a stack I just ADORE. GCD Studios Ella Blue papers - oh I just love these papers. If I could turn a few of these pages into wall paper I would add a wall in my bedroom for sure!
A dark brown card stock base, with light blue matting. Then two of the coordinating pattern papers. All sewn together. A piece of my favorite lace... the very last of the lace!!! Oh my must find more of this one!

The challenge this week is anything goes - with the option of a button. So I added one large vintage button tied with twine. The sentiment is one of Oh My Word! Craftworks Cards sentiments. Love that they just pop off the card and go down. And they are pretty too with that silver printing.

Now pop on over to the Just Magnolias & Hanglar Stanglar challenge site and see all the DT cards - then join us! Anything goes so no excuses!

Gotta work today - so better get a move on with my LONG list of to-do's!
Have a wonderful day and I'll be back tomorrow for Animal Crackers and some news on Minnie..................

Me and My Space #11 - My Scraps Box and one of my favorite things in my room

HI! Well I have been just busy busy busy on some wonderful crafty projects! I just can't share them with you just yet. :0) They are for my Stampavie DT and CHA!! Yes that is coming up really fast!! I hope I can get everything done in time!! But I thought today I would show you one of my most used items at my desk.

My Scrap Box. I have had a million different scrap storage items. And most I would use for a short time, and then forget about it. But this one.. I seem to be using, and working out of much better, I have worked with system for almost a year now! This box I got at JoAnn's on sale. You can see it online HERE , it is called a Handy Scrapbook Carrier. (should have cleaned off my desk better before taking this photo... )
It comes with a removable box lid, that you can put small items into - I have that on the shelf, and I leave it open to get paper in and out of easier. It comes with a few file folders, that work great for sorting.
In the front I put all my Papertrey White cardstock I use for my stamping. I use every square inch of this stuff! Then the files are sorted in 1/2's  - browns/ blacks one side of the folder - then cream's and whites on the other. Next folder pinks/reds and then yellows and oranges... and so on.. the back of the box is my favorite pattern papers that I love and use every square inch of.

No longer do I save every little piece of card stock. I just don't end up using them, and then they takes up space. So 1/2 sheets, or 1/4 sheets of card stock are put in here. And I do use them - The box sits on the floor right at my feet under my desk. Before I get any new card stock out - I check the box to see if I have anything large enough to use. Best system I have had for scraps and I am thrilled that I use so much of it when crafting.

Now I also started this regular to my blog on Wednesdays to show things in  "My Space" - things that make me happy in my craft room - Today I want to share with you one of my most treasured items. Hubby bought me this as a birthday gift a while back, we collect lots of different antiques.. paintings are one thing we both love - I love the look of mid 1800's art - the style, the peaceful feel of them. Hubby found this painting that we believe to be from about 1860 or so.... it became an instant favorite of both of us - it hangs just above our Computer desk in my Craft room.
You see why I love it so much? The frame is not perfect, but I adore it. And the subject matter... well hello - donkeys!! I just adore this painting. Just looking up from my desk and seeing it across the room makes me smile -
As I share some of the items I have used to decorate my room, you are probably going to learn a lot about me personally - hope some of the things I show in the future doesn't scare you about me.. LOL My room is "Me" and it really makes me happy to be in it. I have the bestest Hubby in the world to have built this room for me just over a year ago.. (can't believe it has been that long!)

How about if I do some candy today? Just a simple little blog candy - something easy to ship out and share with one of you... My Baker's Twine that I got last week!
I have here eight different colors of Baker's Twine from "The Twinery" to share with one of you - Just leave a comment here, and then next week on my "Me and My Space" post I will have a winner! I love this stuff - and hope you will too!

Dust It Off Sunday - 11 - High Hopes Donkey!!

Hello! Today for my Dust If Off Sunday post I dug into my High Hopes stamps for one of my first Donkey Stamps. I collect Donkey Stamps :0) ... Ok I collect live donkeys, stuffed donkeys, porcelain donkeys, donkey toys, donkey prints... anything donkey!! But I do love my Donkey Stamps... this is one of my fun favorites, love to use this one for birthday cards!
Common who wouldn't love getting a card with a donkey serving you birthday cake? And love the sentiment that goes with it. This Donkey image actually isn't holding anything, you can purchase all kinds of things for him to be holding up... but the cake is my favorite.

My pattern papers are all My Minds Eye I believe, they are from my scrap folder. I used white card stock with a dark red cardstock mat. Lots of zig zag stitching to hold everything in place. My image is colored with my Copics - and the sentiment is matted with a Spellbinders fancy tag die cut. Love those tags.. I just forget to use them. OH and then at the top right corner- I used bakers twine. I have been really drooling over some of the fun bright colored bakers twine I have been seeing, and then found a link to "The Twinery"  - good thing I made my purchase in December... I am trying to not buy new for the month of January and February. Lets see how I do...   OH and I am hoping to share some of my bakers twine with a few of you... so keep an watch on upcoming post.. wink wink hint hint :0)

Have a wonderful Sunday  - HUGS and
