Whimsy Stamps Challenge - Summertime!

Howdy -

Today the Whimsy Stamps Challenge is Summertime. My image made me smile and I think has a summertime feel to it -

This is "Hula Crab" - by Miss Rach Digi's. Love it! Makes me smile and want to do a little dance!

I colored with my Copics (colors below) and then I printed out out the Summertime Sentiments from Whimsy and then colored up the Fun in the Sun with the same colors.

My papers are DCWV - have lots of color to them, and I took the doodle sewing from the pattern paper and did some doodling around the image and sentiment to match. A orange dotted ribbon around as a band with a bow, and then three dots of Vivia Decor black Paper Pen. Love that stuff. Then I decided that the sand the Crab is dancing in needed some life. So I used Diamond Stickles on it.

Here is another view at an angle to see that sparkle better...

Inside scraps of the same papers -

Copic colors used -

There are lots of great inspiration DT cards at the Whimsy Challenge! Make sure to see all the new images used from the new DT HERE

Then join us at the challenge - there are lots of chances to win more Whimsy for yourself. And you don't even have to use a Whimsy Image. We love it when you do - but it isn't required.

Now get out there and do a little Hula Dance today and enjoy some summertime!

Have a great one!

High Hopes Challenge - Anythings Goes!

Howdy -

Fun and Easy challenge this week at High Hopes Challenge Blog - Anything Goes! So just pull out any High Hopes Stamp and have some fun! Then join us at the Challenge -

I saw these three frogs sitting in my High Hopes Box and decided they were peeking out and asking to be inked up!

These three are named "Wart's That Frogs" Great birthday card image. I colored with my Copics and then found some papers that went well with all that green. Found an old K&Company paper pad. Brenda Walton Designer Paper Collection.  Cut out a few papers, punched an EK success border twice, to make a sort of lace band. Doodled the edge of the frogs then punched out a Memory Box flower die, then punched out Martha Stewart Flowers to add on top.

Inside I used the scraps and then a Happy Birthday stamp sentiment.

Here are the Copic Colors I used on the frogs -

Hope you enjoyed - and please do make sure to visit the High Hope Challenge Blog and join us. We really want to give away some prizes to you!!

Today I think it is past time... I am going to clean off my craft desk and the entire room. Just can't handle the stress of the mess and need to find some space!

Hope you have something more fun planned!
Have a great one -

Gardening Sunday - Cooked Veggies

Howdy -

Well the Texas heat has started doing its work on our garden.

The squash and zucchini are starting to show signs of the heat. Still getting quite a bit of veggies from them, but it is slowing down..

Tomatoes are really showing the heat -

Actually we have had it longer than we should have. I mean it is JULY! LOL Spring gardens in texas never ever make it too far into summer.

Sad .. but good news is that the Fall garden will start up really soon.

Now I wanted to also show you the crepe myrtle tree since it has really come to life!

It really has come to life... buzzes with life! Yep the bee's really love these trees. They don't bother you though... leave them to their flowers and they leave us alone. Trees make great shade for the goats and the chickens. too...

Hope you have a nice Sunday planned - around the house for us. Hubby works outside more than I do. Heat and I don't get along. I try and get out early in the morning and late in the evening though.

Animal Crackers - Smile!

Howdy

Thought we would start out with a smile!

Vicki gave me a really big smile the other morning. Usually I don't have my camera in hand for these great faces, but I was ready this time!! She is so funny... You can really see how black her spots are now. All the donkeys are really slicked off.

Even our baby boy Patricio is loosing his baby fur.

Are those ears or what? Babies usually keep most of their fur for the first year, unless it is really hot. And it is getting pretty hot here. Isn't he just adorable. Really turned red with the sun though.

Pepita really has slicked off and is just stunning now. Look at how black and pretty she is -

She is shy... and is my girl. Won't come to everyone but we have a special relationship... love this sweet girl.

Got a shot of Lillie waiting for breakfast - Lillie is our "old lady". We don't breed her anymore. Too many issues and we don't want to put her in danger for a bad birthing.

She is just too funny...

We call her "Popeye" as a nick name. When she gets excited her eyes look like they are huge and well going to pop out! Especially for oatmeal cookies... she loves when "Dad" shares his oatmeal cookies with her!

Speaking of waiting for breakfast...

Had to stop shooting photos for a few minutes to give the outside doggies their morning cookie. Every morning, every time we come home and then one more at night before bed time they get their little cookies. Started out to make sure that they always were always home and ok. Now it is just a time for lovings... they get rubbed and loved on before each cookie. They are too cute.

I finally got some good photographs of Periwinkle to show you just how crooked her or his.. (we are leaning towards the he for him and "Eleanor" started hearing some young cock a doodle doo's in the morning too... sigh) anyway back to Periwinkle...

You can now see how it bends off to the side -

Top view especially...

Doesn't seem to slow her/him down. Still eats fine and is growing good. Hopefully there won't be issues later - this one has so much personality.....

Gardening Sunday - One Day...

Howdy-

I know I keep saying we have LOTS of squash and zucchini... but proof for you here. This is ONE DAY's pick!!

We try and pick at least 3-4 days a week or so. Should be more but there is just so much time in a day, and so much room to put it! LOL.  This here is our pick from earlier in the week. Been trying all kinds of recipes - zucchini bread, chocolate zucchini bread, squash bread, zucchini chips, zucchini boats, zucchini tots... all have been really yummy!

But if you look you will notice that there is one thing that is not like the others in that photo! Yes Hubby has picked his first watermelon!

They aren't getting as big as we expected them to. But they are sure cute! Little smaller than a dinner plate. Heavy though!

And really pretty inside-

I got one bite - really was all I wanted. Not a huge watermelon fan. But this one was really sweet and much much better than store bought. Thinking the next one I may have to have more than one bite!

This was photo Hubby sent in to me yesterday -

OH MY! Couldn't believe the grapes have turned so fast!! When he came in I just looked at him and said "WELL??" He wrinkled his face up and said "WOW THEY ARE SOUR!"

HA! too funny.  Now I need to see how many I need to make some jam! Bet more than the few we have huh? :0)

Hope you have a wonderful Sunday - we are planning to do some major picking today and Hubby is even talking about starting some fall plants! Can you believe it? I guess these are going to start croaking out on us. With the weather getting so hot. We sure have really enjoyed our first garden though! Thinking about more and different for the next spring though!

Have a blessed and wonderful Sunday!
