I'm InStyle!!!

Yea I can finally Scream it out! I was chosen to join the InStyle Stamps Design Team! They just announced it on the InStyle Blog,
Wow.. some really cute talent there. They created three teams for each section of their stamps. Have you seen them all? They have the Retro , Anime , new Whimsy and their Digital line . Me.. I was chosen for the Retro Line and I LOVE It!

Here is one of the projects I made for round two of the DT Call.

I had seen these cute purse boxes online... but I forgot to print out any templates or instructions. Well I sat down with my Scor-Pal and decided I would just make one up - Problem... I forgot to write down the measurements and instructions myself - So I think I will have to make another so I know how I did this, cuz I really like how it came out. Basically it is a box.. with a flip lid and ribbon handle. Just wide enough to add a treat or gift card? Whatever you would like to add, I am proud that I did it all on my own and it actually came out instead of ending up in the trash can.. LOL

I used white card stock for the base, and after all the folds were done I inserted a pink piece inside to cover all the glued parts. The lid I ran through my Martha Lace punch, and then put two eyelets to run ribbon through for the handle. And two ribbons for some added pretty above the lace punch. For the front I used a piece of scrap pattern paper - pink of course from Making Memories Sabrina Collection.

Now Colored the Suzie Q image with my Copics and high lighted with a white gel pen, and doodled the edges. I wanted her head to pop over the flap on the box when closed, so I mounted her on a piece of grey card stock from the waist down, I cut her head out with my craft knife and left it loose so the lid could slip behind her. I then found three satin flowers, that matched perfectly and attached with a black brad.

I hope you will take a moment and check out the other new DT at InStyle Stamps, then pop over and check out all the cool images - there was a new release yesterday... including Barb the Bowling lady from yesterday!

Me today... I think I may just sit in front of the window... It is raining - a nice steady rain! What a blessing for our drought conditions! Now I won't be in it - as it is COLD well 40.. and that is COLD for me!
