Anyway.. I am babbling... I finished the card really late one night last week, turned out the light and went to bed. At about 2 AM I hear a noise from my craft room. A noise I have learned to HATE... our cat "Gato" she is going through a paper faze. She loves tearing paper - and I know you understand how horrible that is for me!!! Well besides "paper" she really LOVES mulberry roses! And I was so tired I completely forgot and left this card out. I jumped out of bed ran into my craft room flipped on the light - just in time to see her look up with two of these beautiful roses hanging out of her mouth!! We will just leave this story that she now is down to 8 lives - Luckily she hadn't gotten to tearing the card yet, but I did have to add three new roses as she really tore up the first ones... but oh my this cat is really aging me!! Oh and you should see the corner of my new My Minds Eye paper stack!!!! Any ideas how to stop a paper eating cat?
But Jean-Luc is still adorable and I am really happy with how the card came out!

Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday - Hubby and I are taking Libbie and Autie to the vet for their check ups and "shhh" shots.... Then we are working on the property.. as the weather is gorgeous for the first time in a long time!

I love your darling card, Michelle. I was most understanding of your cat story. My big male cat, Toby, has become intrigued with my paint brushes. He loves to throw them around and chew the brush bristles off. Argh!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteOH goodness! Pets can be so destructive, huh?! I had a kitten who liked to chew on the phone cord. I lived in a small apartment when I first moved out on my own. I didn't have a cordless phone yet so I had a LONG cord for the phone and just took the phone with me around the apartment while I talked. Well, that usually meant the phone cord was sitting on the floor all the time. So, my darn cat kept chewing on the cord. Broke through to the wires!! I replaced the cord 3 times before I finally put hot sauce on the cord...put some on a rag and wipped the rag on the cord...she never did it again!! LOL You may want to try that...leave a piece of paper out for her with a little hot sauce and she if that works!!

ReplyDeleteAwe! this card is Gorgeous!! Glad you saved it before there was anymore damage. I have a hound from hell. She is still a puppy but pretty darn annoying still. Eats EVERYTHING!!!!! I have like 5 SU markers chewed to death. Since I use my copics more I am not even going to bother replacing them. lol

HAahhaha sorry Michele I had to laugh at the story of your cat cause my Calico Samantha did that always to me to. She started it with kissing and drooling all over magazine, then she went on to cardstock,polymer clay, stealing beads, cards etc. It has been almost 3 years now since she passed away(age 17 yrs) and I always hated it when she destroyed something of mine but I do miss her misschief ;)

Well no wonder she wanted to "help" with this card, it's gorgeous! The flowers look real enough to eat! No help in the "bad kittie" department, since I could never break mine of her bad habits. We don't train them, they train us! Maybe just keep the door shut? Of course that will make it all just that much more tempting when she does manage to get in there, and you KNOW she will! I guess just lots of catnip mousies!

Hi Michelle! I love this cute little chap (and he is on pre-order!) and your beautiful card. The puppies would chew the corners of paper packs (along with chair legs, baskets etc) when they were teething, fortunately they outgrew the habit. Are Gato's teeth ok? could it be that a visit to the dentist might be the solution? If animals have toothache they chew to relieve the pain (unless it's really bad of course).
