Me and My Space - Antique High Fashions!

Howdy -

Finally getting back in the grove of life after the big show last week. Was a pretty good show just exhausting! LONG days - clock off at 4 am then home and in bed at night by 11 sometimes 12 that night. After a few good nights sleep we were somewhat functional again :0)

I am now back to eBay  - This week I have been doing 1/3 my antiques and 2/3 Estate items. This week I found two gorgeous Edwardian pieces of fashion - wow! These things are so gorgeous. Told Hubby I should bid on them myself and keep them they are so pretty. But I won't need to sell sell sell...

Please excuse the naked mannequin  -

This is a stunning silk embroidered cape - Dates 1900-1910ish

The back has unbelievable detail - and the fringe is in wonderful condition -

This is an early Cut Lace, what I think is called Soutashe Lace - Same period as the one above. If I had even a slim chance that I could wear this I would buy it! LOL

For a dressy occasion it would be so out of this world! But it 100 years old so would have to be very careful with it.

One I don't do dressy occasions very often - Two I am not the most careful person... hello accidents find me. Including eating and dropping food.

You can see my eBay auctions with the link on the top right :0)
Have a great Friday - and see you tomorrow for Animal Crackers -

Whimsy Challenge - Pretty in Pink

Howdy -

Pretty in Pink - Love that theme for a "challenge". This week that is the challenge at Whimsy. And with the new digitals available this month at the Whimsy Store there are LOTS of digital images that can work perfectly with a pink color theme.

Me I went with LiaStampz - Lily - Don't know why this one jumped out at me. I just love her. She has personality doesn't she?

I totally love working with pink and brown. May be out of style right now - but I still love it. I colored up Lily with my Copics - and don't hate me but I totally forgot to take the photo of the colors. Was running a bit late and slipped my mind completely. I cut her out with the oval Nestie, then inked the edges with Distress Ink "Tea Dye" - was still sitting on my desk from my last card and seemed to work here too - I found some old papers from Glitz that I thought matched up to Lily cut a few layers and added them to a Kraft card stock base. I cut out a Whimsy Double Scallop Border die from the same kraft card stock and ran a piece of pink ribbon through the openings. I then dotted the holes with Viva Decor Pearl Pen.

Digging in my flower stash drawer I found some hot pink tiny roses that match the pattern papers, so I punched out a few Martha Stewart Leaves and added them. For my sentiment I started to use one of the bonus sentiments that come with Lily - but then I saw the Coco Chanel quote and loved it.  It too is from Whimsy -

Here is a closer shot of Lily and the quote -

How about joining us at the Whimsy Inspirations Challenge - it is pink!!

Alrighty I am off now - Dr. appointment, a few errands and then home to get some work done. Sigh I need a vacation -

Have a great day !

High Hopes Stamps Challenge - Grow Garden Grow

Howdy -

Today is the High Hopes Stamps Challenge! And this week the challenge is to go along with our title "Grow Garden Grow" - so use a high hopes image that has some sort of garden or flowers in it.

I had an image that I had never had a chance to use and it has flowers -

This is "Wishing Well" - isn't it pretty?

I colored with my Copics (colors below) cut out with oval Nestie and inked the edges with Ranger Distress Tea Dye Ink. I found some older papers in my stash that had all the same colors. 7 gypsies Trousseau collection. Soft vintage papers.. so I went that way - I matted, inked edges and then sewed all they layers together. A piece of Whimsey Self Adhesive Lace as a border at the bottom, and then three dots of Viva Decor Cream Paper Pen. Love this stuff! My sentiment is also from High Hopes and is "Wishing you Well!"

Here are my copic colors -

Now I am sure you can find a High Hopes image that has something growing in it. Color it up make a card and please join us! We would love to have you join us - and maybe win :0)

Today Hubby and I have chores planned. And after the last week a day around the house doing the normal things sounds pretty good - House needs cleaning, animals need tending too, grass needs mowing... lots to do -

Have a wonderful day -

Animal Crackers - Cheep Cheep in their new home!

Howdy -

Hope you will forgive me but this week things this week are short. Due to traffic it has been dark every night this week when we get home from the show. LOTS of traffic. As in sit without moving a wheel for 5 minutes then roll 10 feet and sit again. We hadn't planned on that in our timing for getting home to be with the animals. It was a good show, but hard and exhausting. About 1:30 hours each way everyday - not including the traffic coming home that adds another hour or more. But to be able to come home to our kids it is all ok.

Except for the fact that I just knew I would be home at least a half an hour to hour before the sun set to take some photos and love on my fur babies while shooting some photos. Uh nope. Couldn't see them in total darkness - So I only have a few photos that I snapped with my phone earlier in the week -

First the Chicks and Guineas are all living happily in the new coop -

A few are a little blurry - but they move fast! The first afternoon they were not friendly to each other, but by nigh time the Guineas were sleeping in a wad with the chicks. The guineas tried to show they were boss at first... but one little chick wouldn't take it, and protected all the others and would run off the guineas any time they came near. But they all made friends and are happy now. We had a scary night and day with them the first day of the show... HUGE storms came through the night before the show opened. LOVED the rain, but the lightning and hail was not nice for the critters. So at a little before midnight we were out there with flashlights catching all the birds and closing them up in the hut. They spent the entire next day in the hut as we were at the show and the storms were still going on, baby chicks sometimes don't do so well in the rain and I thought they were old enough and wouldn't drown, but didn't want to risk it. So inside they were - didn't seem to upset about it either, they were nice and dry.

All though they are loving the space and scratching for food. Aren't they getting really red?  Now the guineas... oh my they are funny. They have been practicing their flying - across the pen. And they love to chatter and scream. But their favorite thing? Perching on the sticks. I put long branches across each corner of the pen, and then in their hut. They have claimed the perches. And when not eating... they are perched watching over things. They are so big too -

Thursday night I went in to check on everyone and fill their water and feed - couldn't find the guineas anywhere! Started to panic a bit, but then finally there is a brace board under their hut. The hut is about 2 feet off the ground, I looked under the hut but didn't see any "legs" - I hurt my back so bending way down was not an option. But after freaking out I went and looked again and when I flashed the light under one moved... All three in a row way up under the hut. Safe and sound. And upset I had interrupted their sleep - LOL

One more photo I took while packing up eBay sells last Saturday. This one made me jump a bit -

This is in my shipping closet - Way up on the top shelf something was hiding and watching me - Gato found a new cozy hiding spot. Now one she isn't suppose to be in the closet, and two she had to climb up the boxes to get there. But shhhh... she didn't think I could see her. I left her there until I could run and get my phone to snap the photo - then I got her down and told her no more in my closet!

Sorry it is short this week - Next week should be pretty calm and now that we had a little rain things should green up and make some nice photos. Hubby would say lots of mowing too, but he won't complain about the rain.

I may sleep for a day or two and then catch up on things... ok just one really long night would do - Maybe tonight and then we can sleep late Sunday morning. Maybe until 7 or 7:30 am! Wow that would be awesome!

Have a great day! Hug a furry friend!

Blogging from The Round Top Antique Show

Howdy -

The show has Wi-Fi! So I took a few snapshots of the booth this morning and thought you might like to see it -

We opened yesterday and I thought about doing this then but I didn't see up from my table and through customers - that is a good thing -

We have it full - Lots of toys of course, but some other goodies as well. Weather was not pretty yesterday,  but it was rain and we never complain about rain lately. Didn't seem to hold back the crowds either. So happy that we are in a building. There are hundreds of vendors that are in tents, heavy rain, cold wind and hail isn't fun in a tent.

Today the sun is suppose to be shinning - as is the rest of the weekend. Hope we have lots of shoppers!

Have a great day!

High Hopes Challenge - Going Sentimental

Howdy -
today is the High Hopes Challenge - and we are Going Sentimental! And that simply means to make sure that you have a Sentiment with your High Hopes project.

Now me... I needed a card today - you see today is my Sister's Birthday. Shhhh.. I do believe this year she is joining the 40 club, so don't say anything ok? She might just be touchy about it. :0)  anyway I needed to card for her - and so I found a fun one from High Hopes to use! Hopefully it will give her a "Spring" and make her smile.

I used "Leapin Larry"  I think he is so fun! And paired up with the sentiment "Hoppy Birthday" He is perfect for a birthday card. I colored with my Copics (colors below) I cut out with Thin Oval Nestie Dies, then I used a Copic to create the "mat" - a fake mat that is. The papers are from Bazzil called Vintage Marketplace I think. Old collection I found on the shelf, I love these patterns. Used White card stock for the base, then hot pink card stock as a mat. Sewed things all together, and then die cut Memory Box corner flourish in white for the corners. Four simple green buttons finish it off.

Here are my copic colors.

The inside is scraps from the front other than I colored a matching flower for the inside.

Hope you will HOP on over to the High Hope challenge and join us this week. It is a pretty easy challenge and chances for a great prize!

OH and Hope you have a fabulous birthday Sis! :0)

Have a great Tuesday -

Now would you like to see my card with one of the new images? This is from Crissy's Digis and he is called "Don't Laugh" - I love him!

I colored with my Copics (colors below) I decided to stick with just one pattern paper, this is from Graphic 45 Bird Song collection. I layered on creamy yellow card stock for the base with a dark red mat. I found a wonderful sentiment that is so me lately - This is from the Funny Friendship set of Digital Sentiments. These are fabulous for fun cards.

I stared at it for a while trying to decide what embellishment to use, when I saw this red satin string stuff... don't know what to call it, but it works perfect with card I think. I will say I had glue stuck to every finger I had holding it down while it dried. LOL

BTW.. I have no clue what is up with my photo... it looks odd to me and I can't figure out what my camera did...

Here is my Copic Colors -

And inside I used up scraps and then used the Whimsy Corner Die Set for a little extra -

Now from here you head to Christine Garner's Blog - Don't forget to leave comments for a chance to win!!

Have a wonderful Monday!
