UT Graduation Card

Howdy -

Last week a friend asked me if I could make a card for her to give to a University of Texas College Graduate. Talk about pressure! LOL I decided to go for it and go over the top UT on it.

Using the Whimsy Digital Stamp  by Marika Collins - called Graduate Girl -

Now I feel like I need to put some sad news in before I go on with the card - Whimsy Stamps will be closing down the Digital Stamps at the end of the year - understandable with all the new "laws" but still sad. So NOW is the time to head over and purchase some Whimsy Digital Stamps as they are all 50% off - even this one!

ok back to the card -

As you can see I really went with the UT embellishments - I found some free images and then sized them down to fit the card - The polka dot and zig zag papers are from my stash. I think they are actually old halloween pattern paper, but hey they matched well with this card! I sewed down the image. Colored with Copics and as you can probably guess the UT color is orange  -

Close up of the Graduate Girl -

Inside I stamped out the word Congratulations

Well the card was given and they seemed to like it - that made me happy... I stress on such personal cards.. LOL

Hope you have a great day -

Added some buttons and then a sentiment from the Whimsy "Drama Queen" - I added some very old Shimmers onto the dress and stickles on the bling!

Here is my card for the hop -

I just loved working with the new Marika Collins "Hippie Chick" image! Just so perfect for all those girlfriend cards!

Colored with my Copics (colors below) then I used lots of pearl pen and stickles for some bling. I cut her out and then went and found my Whimsy Die - Daisy Doily Die - I cut two dies. One out of the green pattern paper, then a second time from the pink. Then I took all flowers out and put them back into the green die. So happy with how it came out! :0) I made and easel card and then used the circle die to have something to attach my cut out doily die too… otherwise the flowers would just pop out.

Sentiment is also from Whimsy - Circle Silhouette Sentiments  Colored in some of the areas for more pop.

Here are the Copic colors used -

Now make sure to follow the Hop on around and leave those comments for chances to win more Whimsy!!

Whimsy Stamps Challenge - Party!

Howdy -

Today is the Whimsy Stamps Challenge and this week the challenge is one that can go a lot of directions.

PARTY!! You could go with a Christmas Party - Birthday - Anniversary - Or anything.

Me I am celebrating cupcakes! Cuz any time you have cupcakes you have a party. Am I right? :0)

Here is one of Whimsy's new images from Marika Collins - Cupcake Queen.

I made my cupcake chocolate of course... LOL I colored with Copics (colors below) Then found some papers from My Minds Eye that happened to already be out on my desk. Merry Little Christmas collection. I love using up pads for lots of different cards this paper doesn't really look Christmas at all when you don't use any of the patterns with trees or ornaments. And I love the pink red and teal colors together.  I sewed all the layers together - then went to play with some of my Whimsy Shape dies -

First I die cut the corners with the Corner Die Set. I am totally serious.... I use this set more than any other dies I have. I LOVE them!! Then I die cut out the sentiment Party time - from the Birthday Sentimentables Dies Set. Great set of three all one piece sentiment dies! PERFECT!!

Then I thought it needed just a bit of bling... so I added some Viva Decor Glitter pen to the words and the corners, then added some pearls to the corners.

Inside is same papers -

Here are the Copics I used -

This is a great challenge this month and you will have the entire month of December to join us for a chance to win prizes... but don't wait and forget during the holidays! :0) Make sure to see all the DT's Party cards at the Whimsy Inspires Challenge - then join in on the fun ok?

So what are you working on today... I would love to be crafting but with the big Turkey Day tomorrow I am in the kitchen. We are going to Hubby's sister's house for the big meal. I am in charge of "the pies"... have quite a few to get done so probably will be in the kitchen most of the day.

Love to bake, just don't do much of it anymore. Hubby and I would be wide as the house if I did. LOL

Hope you have a wonderful day and for those in the US - a blessed Thanksgiving Day -

Whimsy Stamps Inspiration - Little Bundle -

Howdy

How cute is this image? "Little Bundle" by Marika Collins -

I colored with my Copics (colors below) Now I don't know if you can see it or tell at all - but I added a white line in areas around her... "the glow". LOL silly addition I guess. I used Yellow Bicycles paper for a country look. I sewed all the pieces together. The sentiment is also a Whimsy - Simple Everyday Greetings.

Close up -

Inside I used simply on page... was too pretty to layer... .LOL

Copic colors I used -

So have you tried any of Marika Collin's images yet? They are so fun - They make great images for cards for your friends -

What are you up to today? Me I am working on packaging and pricing my old cards... we are doing a market day coming up with the antiques, and thought it might also be a good time to sell my mountain of cards. They are starting to take over my craft closet! LOL And besides if I can make some extra cash with them think of new things I can mark off my wish list and purchase! :0)

Have a wonderful Day -

Whimsy Stamps - SUMMER

Howdy -

Ok I know I talk about the heat a lot. Sorry, I hate the heat, it bothers me. Since the accident I really can't handle it at all. I hate that I can't I would like to be out with my kids more and would like to help more, if Hubby would let me. Well Maybe I would "enjoy" the heat better if I could look like this and just go to the beach -

LOL - This is "Summer" from Whimsy Stamps Digital images by artist Marika Collins. Isn't she pretty.. and skinny.. and good looking... and long legs... and pretty hair... and big eyes with long eye lashes... Yea I could handle being at the beach and looking like this. All though.. Me I would probably still be in the one piece with the shirt over me. Maybe.. never have had a chance to see how brave I would be with a skinny hot body! Never Know....

Any way I love this image even if to just dream a little - I colored her with my Copics (colors below) and then edged her with a dark red Copic then sewed her to a kraft card stock. My papers I thought were just perfect for the image. They are from Simple Stories collection, I {heart} Summer. Love the little bingo papers that come in the collection. I cut them up and sewed down all the papers.

I didn't use a sentiment, the bingo cards say it all for her -  OOH and then I added stickles to the sand area...

Here is the inside - same papers inside and another bingo card -

And here are the Copic colors used -

Was a fun card to put together - And as much as I love lots of embellishments, I do enjoy cards that have no issues for mailing them. FLAT cards are nice.

Just came in from getting the chicken eggs for the day. I love going out and seeing how many are out there. We are now up to a regular 5 a day!! Then I have one girl that is having a bit of trouble getting going and she has given me three very mushy eggs... yesterday it looked like she had it all worked out and there were 6 out there.  Got very excited.. went to pick it up and it looked great but was mushy... boo hoo. Put out some oyster shell for them so that should help her too. Anyway went out just now and got 5 beautiful eggs.. and was backing out of the coop and hit my elbow on the frame of the door... yep... I was so sad... I dropped three of them!!! And the chickens were not happy about it either. I felt so bad, not only am I stealing their eggs (two of them would like to sit on them all day despite them not being fertilized) but now I am just dropping them and wasting them!!! So so sad... Sigh.. Oh well I think it is time to start carrying out something to carry them in instead of just holding them.  I don't think either of us, me or the chickens, can handle me dropping any more.

Now I have to get to work... Doll show in two days and I am still washing pressing and folding doll clothes, and pricing dolls. Since this is not an antique show - I can take more of the modern items I have accumulated. I sure hope I sell a bunch of it as it is starting to take over storage of our stock.

If you are in the area Saturday - we will be set up at the at the 5th Annual HILL COUNTRY DOLL SHOW & SALE,  * *New Location**   Schertz Civic Center, 1400 Schertz Parkway, Schertz (San Antonio).  9am - 4pm, Adults $5, Children $2.  Hourly door prizes & free parking.

Have a great day -

Whimsy Stamps - Lovin' Alex

Howdy! I colored for fun! Yep, now I was so tired and run down that this card took me a few days to do. LOL But I feel more like me now and last night I finished up this card and started another. Now how could you not have some fun while coloring up Alex?

Hot gal huh? Love these new image from Marika Collins and Whimsy Digital Stamps. Is she perfect for Valentines? Or any "Love" card. I colored her with my Copics, then cut her out. Then I printed a second one and colored it with Copics, but her, I colored in Greys. Then I pop dotted her over the grey image. A shadow effect sort of, right? I added stickles to her necklace. Then Diamond Glaze over the balloons and her lips. :0)

The papers are from Graphic 45. Love the colors in the Bird Song collection. I added some black card stock, and a zig zag stitch with black thread. A black ribbon around the papers. Then I stamped out my sentiment from Whimsy as well. Treasured Moments Tickets, is one of my favorite Whimsy sentiment sets. The Ticket Die to cut it out and then matted with the Fancy Ticket Die. Love that one! I added some Viva Decor Pearl pen to add little pearls.

Here is a close up of Alex -

The inside is left over pieces -

And here are my Copic Colors -

Have you visited Whimsy Stamps lately? WOW there are lots of great new images, and embellishments! And totally loving the new papers!

Trying to catch up on things around here - after two weeks of shows, the house got a bit insane. And then I was not 100% and really didn't have the energy to care at all. LOL But I am doing 95% better and really caring! So today is a cleaning day. And then... I think I deserve more coloring time :0) What are you up to?

Better get busy!
