Just Magnolias and Hanglars - Love this sketch!

Happy Friday! Today is Just Magnolias and Hanglars challenge day and the challenge this week? A sketch! Love that, as this week I needed the mental help to create my card. Too tired to think you could say :0)

I love this sketch this week, and I had fun with an older Hanglar from my swap stack of images.
For the card I started with the pattern papers from K&Company's Julianne's stack. Love the vintage feel of these papers - and the huge selection from the giant 6x6 stack! I inked the edges of all the pieces following the sketch provided.
Love this Hanglar images - She is just so proper don't you think? That hat... that must be it. I colored with my Copics - sewed everything down. The tag is from Making Memories, Mulberry Roses spritzed with Smooches and leaves and branches from Martha Stewart punches. My sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Make sure to pop over to Just Magnolias and Hanglars Challenge and see all the DT's creations this week. And join us for a chance at a great prize!

I am going to start loading cards into my For Sale Tab at the top of my blog - I do believe this might be the first -

Me today? Errands this morning, pedicure with buddy Tracey - and the maybe dinner out tonight? Lets see if I can talk Hubby into that - usually pretty easy if I say "Mexican food Sweetie?" A yes is out there before I can finish.

HUGS and see you tomorrow for Animal Crackers day!

Well are calling him "Lucky"

Cathy went into labor late Monday night - her first batch of kids. Sadly her first two babies did not survive. We think they were possibly a little early? The third of the triplets is doing great though! He is TINY TINY TINY... (this is one of a few reasons we are thinking they were born a bit early) Tiny but totally adorable! We have named him "Lucky"
All though Craig was naming off the guys from the band Kiss with those facial stripes going there! But he is too sweet for a rock band name - He really loves to be held, and cuddled. Mom is one of our psycho goats. She won't let us her touch her at all. I am not going to let this baby be this way. Despite her grunting while we hold him, we are going to make sure this little dude likes attention and people!
Cathy is going to get her exercise with this one though... I think he is going to be an active one... I'll have more photos of Lucky on Saturday's Animal Cracker Post :0)

Have a great Thursday!

Me and My Space - Thrifty Boxes made pretty?

HI! Today I want to show you how I have been thrifty in my love of decorative boxes on my shelves.

I love these pretty boxes, and have quite a few around my room to hide my junk.. ahem very valuable crafting goodies.

Here are some I have showed you before -
I have these on top of my shelves - they hide all the less used crafting items - you can see my post about these boxes HERE for a look inside.

There is a serous obsession of these pretty boxes, I always go that section of the stores to see what is new and on sale. I just love them. But they can get pricey... real pricey sometimes. I have left stores pouting before cuz I fell in love with boxes and just couldn't justify the $!

This is one set of boxes I had seen and left behind - they were just out of my budget ------- and then a few weeks ago I went back for something I really needed. New Scissors. Hubby needed a pair at work, mine were getting older, and well he didn't need a perfect pair... so I gave him mine and then went off to get me a new pair. While there... I went to say hello to the boxes. They were on sale 50% off... uh... well.... you now see a donkey on top of them right? YEP... they came home with me.
I totally Love them and don't regret buying them at all, cuz they just make me smile. But then I looked down in the corner of the room and saw some boxes that I saved from the trash... I had such good intentions of saving them, re-using them, and well creating my own pretty storage from them - My Boot Boxes from Christmas -

They are not pretty at the start... but do have great size to them for storage.
But after a little time, they are cute! I was at Tuesday Morning last week and found a package of 25 sheets of Making Memories Slice Adhesive paper. Reminds me of shelf liner paper.. LOL but in 12 x 12 size of course. It was really cheap for the 25 sheets. I think like $5 bucks.... that paper is really high in the stores - I loved the pink polk-a-dot pattern, and then I thought about those boxes again... so for $5 I figured I could cover all three of my boxes - and still have paper left over maybe.
I covered all of the hinge top with the paper, just peel and stick. Then I found some older ribbon in my stash of ribbons, loved the blue and pink together - matches my room. So I used double sided tape and stuck down two bands, and then used my Bow Maker to create two bows for the front. Once I get them all done, I think I will clean off one shelf of not so pretty items, put them all in the boxes and then create fancy labels for the front of them. That is the plan at this point.

So this box cost me maybe $1.75 - $2.00? Well other than the boots Hubby bought me that were in the box.. LOL But I was thinking. Last time I was at the boot store they had a bin full of empty boot boxes to pitch out. Uh... we have gone and asked for coasters, and drink holders and other items to alter... so why not ask for a boot box? LOL Shoe boxes would be cute to do up and sit on top of the larger boxes for embellishments and ribbons and all match- hmm.. may need to get a new pair of shoes now? LOL or just find an empty box to save from the land fill. RECYCLE!

Hope this gives you an idea for a decorative storage item too! Link up yours for me to see!

Thanks so much for visiting me :0)

Spoon Full of Sugar - TEXTURE with a Leere image!

Hello - Today is Spoon Full of Sugar day and today is all about Texture! Great Challenge to think about adding texture to our projects. Some I would use and never think about it being texture and then one item I had in my stash and never used before and LOVE the look and the "Texture" it gave to my card!

But for even more fun for my card I went and found a Stampavie Leere Aldrich image to use. I totally adore these images, they are just so fun and whimsical! And I do believe this is one of my favorites.

This image is called "Going Places" Don't you want to go too?

I colored with my Copics and then I paper pieced the paint for the car! LOL I used a DCWV Glitter paper, this car has some bling baby! And that glitter is a textured paper... wink wink... texture for the challenge :0)

For my card I went with that DCWV paper stack - and the gorgeous Mariposa paper stack and card stock stack. Love the colors! For another texture I pulled out some Web Ribbon I purchased from Bunny Zoes, ages ago! I put it away and then totally forgot about it. Totally love the look of it, and was so happy I ran across it before making my texture card.
I wanted to show you an up close of the texture on the DCWV pattern paper. It is really so beautiful and I love the look, and feel of it! Those butterflies are what inspired my embellishments for the card. I used my Papertrey Ink butterfly die, and cut out the orange card stock, then I cut them out again on acetate and stamped them with blue Stazon ink on the back side of the clear acetate with the Papertrey Ink Butterfly stamp. I glued the two pieces together in the centers and let them "flap" loose for the wings. I then added just a bit of Stickles between the layers for more sparkle. I love how they came out and what I really love is that while in an envelope they will go totally flat and mail easy - but once pulled out they pop up somewhat. I love all the flowers and large embellishments, but it does make it hard to send off with all the dimension. This has that, but is so easy to mail! My sentiment is also from Papertrey Ink.

Zoom Zoom... now zoom off to A Spoon Full of Sugar and see all the DT's texture this week. And then join us for a chance at a great prize!

I'll be back tomorrow for "Me and My Space" post... I have been a little thrift this week with some organization ;0)

Dust It Off Sunday - SK's Isabelle with a Special Fold to it!

So today's DIOS card is not a real old image, last season... but I was so excited to show you this project, and I have shared it on the Stampavie Blog, so I just had to pop it here too! This has to be one of my most favorite items I have made in a long time.

One it is something a bit different, and Two is turned out perfectly! LOL Following instructions correctly really does make a difference you know :0)

I found this after doing some blog surfing and coming across the tutorial for a Napkin Fold Card. Sounds odd... but I am totally in love with the look of it. I found this tutorial at StampARTic's website, you can see all the instructions HERE.
Love the vintage soft feel of this - Now it took some time to cut all the pieces and ink the sides of everything, but so worth it!

I used Stampavie's Sarah Kay, Isabelle with Puppy Cocoa... except I masked off the image to have it fade off the Die cut shape, so poor puppy cocoa didn't make it on this, sorry cocoa... I colored with my Copics, trying to keep with the vintage feel.
The side unties and the strap opens to reveal all the folding of the one 12x12 sheet of card stock, with all the glorious Border punching.
Then once unfolded it has a "Ta -Da" moment to reveal the sentiment inside. I think it is VERY dramatic, and it was so fun to put together. I will be making another one of these real soon! So So happy I came across the instructions, love blog surfing to broaden my crafting inspiration!
The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. The Papers are all GCD Ella Blue, Martha Stewart Embroidered Floral border/corner punch and Spellbinders Label Die 15.

Hope you enjoyed my Napkin Folded Card - I will be making another one really really soon - I had a blast making it, and love that it is so different!

Have a wonderful Sunday :0)

Animal Crackers - Happy Birthday to my Sister!

First things first today - it is my Sisters Birthday today.. so from me and all the Animal Crackers.. Happy Birthday Melanie!! HUGS

I went out late yesterday afternoon and took a few photos - Actually got a few cute ones this week, love getting facial features, you can really see their personalities in them...
My Boy Sergio first up - My bottle baby - he is so spoiled, and totally sweet. We have finally agreed that he stays here. That makes me smile ;0) Look at those precious eyes -
The boys - Paco, Felipe and Jorge. These three boys are on our "For Sale" list. And I know they will end up in a good home ( You know I'll make sure of that! ) I have one girl that wants to come and see them and pick one, I think it is going to be a hard choice personally... they are all three gorgeous in their own way.

This isn't a close up here.. but I think you can still see the "personality" here. Pavo, our gelded boy... he has climbed up ontop of the bale to eat. He is just so proud of himself, especially since he is even bigger than Juliet, our standard young girl! She is getting bigger and bigger each day - and we are really attached to her :0)
I hope you won't get tired of my shots of my sweet boy Autie... I just love seeing his adorable face, you can see how totally loving he is here can't you?

I finally got a good face shot of Chica!! Man she is super hard to photograph. She sees that camera focusing on her for a close up and she runs towards the camera. But I caught her here! She is her Daddy's girl... such a little lover.
This one cracked me up... Chica tries so hard to bond with her Mom Libbie. Libbie is just so high strung she normally isn't still long enough to snuggle up to. This week she has been a bit slower, and not feeling 100% - she is in heat... yep count down... and looks like she is tired here too with that large yawn! We didn't want to breed her again until later in the year. But well... it just isn't possible to keep her and Autie apart. So we have made a decision. One more breeding, and then they will both be fixed. That is the final decision... today that is.
No personality shot here..... just one VERY Large goat. Cathy is getting really close. I wish I knew more about goats. I am just learning on the fly here. She has caused me to be on red alert a couple of times this week... but then she relaxes and nothing. Sigh... kids should come at some point soon though... I think....

We also have a donkey real close.. Bella is looking more and more like she is ready - but I didn't want to walk all the way out to the end of the pasture to get a photos of her. Sorry I was lazy, hot and had my good bling flip flops on :0)

Hope you have a great Saturday... I'll be back with tomorrow for a Dust It off Sunday project I just feel in love with!

Just Magnolias and Hanglars - Anything Goes with Maybe Buttons

Hello and WOW it is Friday again! This week has just blown by again! And can you believe it is April 1st already! Today is Just Magnolia and Hanglar Challenge, this week is our Anything Goes Challenge, with the option of buttons. For me this week I knew I wanted to use a Magnolia, I need to make sure and pull these out more, and I really enjoyed remembering all the image I have "collected" over the past few years, and this week.. this one caught my eye.
I love this Tilda with her little sheep. All but her one foot... that foot just really bothers me, it just doesn't look right to me. It is totally angled wrong! ;0) But I still love the image. I colored with my Copics, and then used a white gel pen to fluff up the sheep.

And then my card... it was all about using a new "toy" ahem... I mean "tool". Have you seen the new Martha Stewart Jumbo corner border sets? Oh my... totally in love with these! They make the most gorgeous... well doily looking papers. This one is called Wild Flowers. I punched it out of DCWV white shimmer paper. And simply placed it on a purple card stock base.
I then layered a scrap of green gingham paper, and Papertrey Ink Purple dot satin ribbon. I then pop dotted the image in the center. Then I went just a bit nuts with the adhesive rhinestones, yep on all the flowers... the centers are all different sizes of bling, in clear, pink and light green. This card has some real sparkle to it baby!
I tried to capture it with a photograph for you, but it really just doesn't do it. For my buttons that were optional this week I found two pearled white buttons and placed them on the ribbon. I added purple rhinestones in the centers. Love that!

My sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. A simple card to make, was really fast, but I love the look of the punched paper. I took more time putting all those rhinestones down than anything else! LOL

Now hurry pop over to Just Magnolias and Hanglars Challenge and see all the DT's creations and then join us for a chance at a GREAT prize!

See you tomorrow for some Animal Crackers!
