Here is my card - I used the very fun new image from Crissy Armstrong - Tight Squeeze Santa -

Now I have to tell you I am one that really struggles to make Christmas cards in the summer. I have always hated it and have to force myself to work with them. Once it cools down even just a little bit I am ok.. but when it is a 102 outside like it was yesterday.... Christmas is the farthest thing from my inspiration. But when I was going through the new releases to pick what I wanted to work with I chose this one right off... just cracked me up. Oops no pun intended there. ..   I colored with my Copics (colors below) Then I pulled out a Graphic 45 Christmas paper pad, Core'dinations card stocks, Whimsy Double Scallop Doily Die and Whimsy Corner Dies, and then the circle with Santa is also from Whimsy called Christmas Sentiments. I really wanted to ribbon to match and didn't have one, so I took my cream colored Bias tape and colored it with Dark Red Copic.. now it matches! For some added fun I used a Marvy Snow Marker for some puffy snow and trim on Santa's coat. I then added a little bit of Stickles to the trim. Then I used a Viva Decor Pearl Pen for all the pearl dots. I also did the inside with left over papers, but due to space today decided to not show. :0)

Here are the Copics used...

Just Magnolia and Hanglar Challenge

Now second part of the post today  - it is my week over at the Just Magnolia and Hanglar Challenge and this week is a great challenge! Really fun... "Make your Own Flowers"  You can get as fancy or simple as  you would like, but no store bought flowers... me I punched myself some flowers!

Here is my card -

Pulled out one of my Hanglars this week. The store I have my cards has asked for baby cards.. :0)  I colored with my Copics (and oops... the photo I took with the Copics is missing!! Sorry) For the papers I found the very cute Doodlebug Designs Paper Pad "Sugar and Spice" So totally cute for baby cards! I picked out lots of patterns and then sewed them down with mats from the same papers. I found a ribbon that in person does not look nearly as dark as it does here... hmmm how strange! For my flowers that are a must for the challenge I punched out a Corner die from Memory Box and then punched flowers from a Punch Bunch punch - used scrap coredinations cards stock - I folded the leaves up just a tad, glued them down and then used a Viva Decor Brown Paper pen, then added yellow stickler to the center of that.  I really struggled with the Sentiment... NOTHING looked right, too big, too small, wrong color, maybe I was just tired and not feeling it. So I sat it aside until the next morning. Then I found this small piece of ribbon that said "Congratulations" that felt better.. don't know but I think it works.  Inside was done with all the scraps. Then at the end I used stickles Diamond on the wings.

Make sure you pop over and see all the DT Flowers and then play along for a chance to win a great prize...

And don't forget to make the rounds for the Whimsy Stamps Release... hidden prizes along the way while you are seeing all the new Digital stamps!

whew... lots of work this week huh??? LOL

Have a great Friday...  Working on furniture today, Hubby and I decided we were tired of our it all, so we are "fixing" things. I found some fabulous paint. Chalk paint, I'll tell you all about it in a post one day this week I am so thrilled with how they are looking! Then I am going to work on my second batch of jam! Yesterday I made Strawberry... today is Peach Preserves :0) yummy!

I'll see you tomorrow for Animal Crackers and then the last day of the Whimsy Stamps Release Hop!

Just Magnolias & Hanglars Challenge - Summer Colors

Hello Friday! This week flew by didn't it? Well a few days did - I couldn't believe it was already time for the Just Magnolia and Hanglar challenge and I double checked my calendar twice to make sure.

The challenge this week is very fitting... Summer Colors! And for me that means HOT colors. Man Summer has hit us hard already this year. Working outside is already a early morning and late afternoon chore here - I can not handle middle of the day and afternoons!

So for my card this week I went through my papers...dug really deep into old stuff. Funny I had a hard time finding papers that felt summer to me. But finally I found an older DCWV paper stack, I think it is called collage - really old. Makes me feel good to use up papers that have been on the shelf forever.

Here is my card - I used a stamped gift Hanglar image this week ;0)

So old DCWV pattern paper, this was one sheet of paper - I used both printed sides, cut into pieces and sewed down with different stitches. My image is colored with my Copics. I had a really hard time with bleeding, as the paper that this is stamped on is really thin compared to what I normally use... and I am a heavy handed colorer too... But I think it came out ok, I was determined to make it work and not waste this Hanglar! I cut out the mat for behind the image, and on the bottom corner I hand cut out the flowers to leave them with the paper. I punched out two Whimsy Corner dies - and then a Butterfly die... for the life of me I cannot find the name of... darn it. I cut it out of the cream card stock, then colored it with copics. Added three punched leaves from Marvy - and a large Prima flower. Dotted satin orange ribbon as well. It was finished... and then here it comes... Yellow Viva Decor Pearl. I know I need to join a group to get help with my obsession with this stuff!!! :0)

The inside. There was not hardly any of the pattern paper left from the front. So I used scraps of the card stocks and the strips from the pattern paper. Then a Whimsy double scallop circle die -

It is for sure a warm card - Lots of Summer color here! For more warmth... make sure to pop over to the  Just Magnolia & Hanglar Challenge and see all that the DT came up with this week.

Ok, gotta run. SIL had surgery this week, and she is home now. We are going to pick up some of food from a favorite BBQ place and take it to them. I know... I should make something homemade... it has just been so busy around here that I haven't had time to think much less plan a meal, shop, cook and then pack it up. Maybe next week....

Have a wonderful Friday - and see you tomorrow for Animal Crackers! LOTS been going on around here with the animals!

Just Magnolia and Hanglar Challenge - Lovely Lace

Happy Friday - Life is beginning to feel a bit more normal. Just a little bit, but I will take it! Life has been just topsy turvy lately! Now it is still exciting around here and lots going on. Heck 21 baby goats out side, and 6 dogs in my house can attest to that! (Ammo is living with us until we find him a new home) But for some reason this week I have begun to feel like I am getting things settled around me and that makes me feel better and when we feel better? WE CRAFT! Whoo Hoo!

So in plenty of time I got today's Just Magnolia and Hanglar Challenge done! My Mom asked me for a few more Thank You cards. She had back surgery just over a month ago, and is doing pretty darn good I might add. She is even back to driving! Go Mom! I am so proud of her. Anyway she has used a few of my past Thank You cards recently, and she has asked for a few more... didn't have them in my million cards stashed, so I have made up a few for her special. Hope she likes them.

This weeks Theme at Just Magnolia and Hanglar Challenge is Lovely Lace. Well that is a pretty theme....

I pulled out some of my antique lace, and then went for paper to match. Love the 7 Gypsies Conservatory Paper collection - perfect to go with vintage lace right? I used Kraft card stock for the base, with a cream colored mat. Then I layered a couple of pattern papers around and sewed things down. I found one of my favorite Hanglar images, and colored her up with my Copics, then shaded with pencils. Love how rich that makes the image. I die cut her into a oval, and then shaded the edge of the oval with pencil as well. Why.. well I couldn't find my Distress ink on my desk.. LOL So I just used a pencil and blended it! A few mulberry roses with some Fiskars Tree punches. Yes.. those are trees.. but I like how they look like branches, and the shapes behind the roses.

For the sentiment I used Sizzix Wingo Zingo Alphabet die, and spelled out my Thank You.

Inside finished off as well...

So a great challenge this week at Just Magnolia and Hanglar Challenge! Wonderful prize as always up for grabs. But also ... you can join in on a DT search on the Challenge blog just by joining us!!! Seriously so find some Lace and pop your card on.

Well what is your plans for the weekend? Me? A bit of cleaning, and I am still trying to re-organize my craft room. I have no clue who keeps coming in here and totally messing things all up and turning it into a disaster area. :0)

Have a great Friday - and see you tomorrow for Animal Crackers.

Just Magnolias and Hanglars Challenge - Going Green!

HI - Today's challenge at Just Magnolias and Hanglars is to add Green to your project. Why I don't know but as soon as I read the challenge I had the quote from Twister in my head... "We're Going Green..." LOL Ok, so I watch too many movies.

But still the challenge it to do lots of green on your project, St. Patricks day I am sure is the inspiration. Still hearing that Twister quote - So I dug through my images to find one that I could work LOTS of green into. And found this stamped out Hanglar image with the Fishes - perfect!

I colored with my Copics. YES... I have use of my hand! And I colored this all by myself :0)  While going through papers, I found the October Afternoon collection "Campfire" - loved the green, but that map pattern paper with the lakes and rivers was wonderful with my little fisherman. I sewed down a few patterns, and the image. Added some Prima flowers, with button centers, then dangled three little fish charms from the center of the flowers. Love those charms!

Told you... aren't they too cute? Then for my sentiment I used my Sizzix alphabet die - Wingo Zingo. I so need to use my alphabet dies more often. Takes a bit longer than a stamp, but I really love how they look.

I was having so much fun crafting and feeling back to normal I even did the inside! This is a goal to make sure to do this more. I am usually so behind and in a hurry, I think I will go back and add the inside later and then I don't...

Now you need to pop over the to the Just Magnolia and Hanglar challenge and see all the green for yourself! Then join in for another great prize :0)

Hope you have something fun planned this weekend. ME.... catch up weekend. Hubby has to work, I am hoping that by the end of the weekend my house will be clean, laundry done, and work all caught up. You think it will happen? Plans always get thrown to the side and something more important comes up - but hopefully not this weekend. I would love to catch up -

Just Magnolias and Hanglars - Sewing theme

Shocker here... I crafted! Ok, so the image I had colored a few months back... but I made this very simple card all on my own! Sort of one handed - One hand and the thumb on my right hand. LOL It wasn't easy, but I really enjoyed crafting. Can't wait to do something else right away!

But first how about my simple boy card. The them this week at Just Magnolias and Hanglars Challenge is "Sewing" Real sewing, faux sewing, what ever sewing you are comfortable with! Me. I used my sewing machine.

I used papers from My Minds Eye and Memory Box. Both with a kraft paper feel to them. I sewed down each layer of paper - and then stamped my sentiment. A brand new set from Stampavie and Tina Wenke. Love these new sentiments sets!

Then I ran a piece of green ribbon across the top of the card. Then punched out of a scrap of kraft card stock pattern paper with a brand new Fiskars border punch called Diamond Edge. Great for these "manly" cards.

Now make sure to pop over to the Just Mangolia and Hanglar challenge and see all the sewing - then join us for a great prize

Today I am going to run a few errands on my own, and then meet up with my Buddy Tracey for a pedicure! Whoo Hoo... been a long time! No Manicure this week... wouldn't be worth it to only get one hand done - sigh! But I will very much enjoy the pedicure and girl time!

Have a great day and see you tomorrow for Animal Crackers!

Just Magnolias & Hanglars Challenge

It's Black Friday...  Did you spend the entire night and early morning standing in lines somewhere to save money? Me... sorry I was snug in my bed. Not my thing to stand in the cold - I don't like shopping in crowds on a normal day.. LOL So Black Friday - that is a stay at home and have left-overs from Thanksgiving. We had a small Thanksgiving dinner yesterday. Our house is still in construction, so it was just Hubby, MIL and myself. Sitting in a small cleared area of the house that is finished. Simple, Quite and we still got work done during the day as well. Not too much longer and we will be done. I HOPE! :0)

But for today's post it is time for the Just Magnolias and Hanglars Challenge and the theme for today is Pink/White/Red  .... hmm I missed the red when I read that - Oh well.. I had lots of fun working with the Pink and White!

My image is one of my stamped gifts from long ago. I colored it up with my Copics - Then I remembered in my scraps this matching paper! How perfect is it for this image. Love polka-dots don't you? Then also in my scraps was this flower piece. The band is pieces. The middle written is Tim Holtz tape on white card stock. You can see through that tape, didn't know that when I bought it. but that is ok, I played with a piece left over and realized you can color it with you inks... so I will be doing that next time. Then the stripes are fabric tape, I bought online a while back. I can't find the brand sorry. My flowers are Prima with Martha Stewart leaves punches. I shimmered the flowers up with some smooch and added button centers. Sentiment is an epoxy sticker.

Hop on over to the Just Magnolia & Hanglar Challenge lots of Pretty in Pink.. and White and RED!

Have a great Friday! See you tomorrow for Animal Crackers -

Just Magnolia & Hanglar - Black/Grey, Red and White

Happy Friday!! Ok, so the week blew by again, and I am still trying to catch up.. but it is Friday and dealing with it... that is time for the Just Magnolia & Hanglar Challenge! This week the challenge is a color challenge. Black or Grey, Red and White. Love color challenges! And this one was really fun to get out of the box of my normal colors.

I started with picking my papers, so I knew I had the color combo covered. I chose papers from My Minds Eye and Teresa Collins. With Black and White card stock. I sewed down my layers. Using the wording from the pattern paper as my "sentiment" for the front of the card. Then I went to my stamps...

This Hanglar image just seemed right... all colored with my Copics  -
And here is my card all -
A Papertrey Ink Black Satin Ribbon - tied in a bow around the paper, with red mulberry roses. Love this color combo - why don't I use it more often?

Now make sure to POP over to the Just Magnolia and Hanglar Challenge - Gorgeous DT cards all done up in Black/Grey, Red and White.....

Have a great Friday and see you tomorrow for Animal Crackers :0)

Just Magnolias and Hanglars - Christmas Time!

It's Friday! And it is Team B week at Just Magnolia and Hanglars Challenge - my week! You may not have noticed but we have split the team and are now doing every other week - Lots of prizes and lots of inspiration still - but well... a little less stress for the team. And this time of year, that is a huge bonus!

Are you aware how close Christmas is? Seriously.. have you counted the days? I have... and it is scary! LOL Now why I was counting the days? Uh.. I'll tell you that in tomorrows post - how is that for a cliff hanger?

Now for my card this week - the theme is Christmas! And we were given some adorable sentiments from one of our sponsors this week... The Cutting Cafe really love them! Perfect for your holiday cards.

I played with one of my older Hanglars - love this "couple" :0)

I colored with my Copics -

Then I went to work on my card - I used papers from My Minds Eye Lost and Found Christmas Collection - really yummy vintage papers!
Ok, shocker here... but I didn't sew anything! For some reason this card just went together and I never even thought about using the sewing machine... I think it was cuz I was excited about using that GORGEOUS piece of antique lace! It is one that I got from Etsy... Totally ADORE it! I inked the edges of all the papers with Distress Ink Old Paper, and the attached to a kraft card stock base.  It all went really fast. My embellishment - I found a metal Making Memories metal corner in my box from my scrapbooking days - Love how well it matches. Printed out my sentiment, added just a bit of color to it and all done!

Hope you like it - And make sure to visit the Just Magnolia and Hanglar Challenge - two prizes this week... and LOTS of inspiration for your Christmas cards! Why not join us and that would be one of your holiday cards done! :0)

I'll see you tomorrow... yes... I'll let you know what is coming..... any ideas??? LOL

Just Magnolias and Hanglars Challenge - Distressing!

OH my ... the them for this weeks Just Magnolia and Hanglar's Challenge this week is so me this week. DISTRESSING!! I feel like I have been running in slow motion all week, not getting done all that I plan to accomplish - It has just been a freak out week! LOL But I did take some time one night this week to sit and craft for this weeks challenge. Some chillin time just me and my craftin'!

I pulled out another "shared" Hanglar image. I love this one - too sweet isn't she? I chose my papers first, My Minds Eye Lost and Found papers, then I colored to match - She has a sort of vintage raggedy ann look doesn't she?  I inked papers, and used a distressing tool on others. I sewed everything. I then used a piece of my vintage lace from Etsy - and then wove some red ribbon through it, and tied a bow. I used glue dots to hold the ends in place, they were just not behaving well! My sentiment is a ticket I found in my stash, with a Alota Rubber Stamps Hello sentiment. Love this one - so cute and simple, and I like that it is small - so it fits anywhere!  Then three tiny red buttons to finish it off.

This one turned out cute and made me happy - a break crafting well spent you could say? Relaxed me I know that, and that gave me the push to get back to all the craziness!

Now pop over to Just Magnolias and Hanglars Challenge and see all the Distressing cards from the DT! Really gorgeous stuff...

Now I must return back to my list of things to do... I have a goal to get all caught up today!!! Hope I do so I can play tomorrow :0)

HUGS and have a wonderful Friday - see you tomorrow for Animal Crackers Saturday!

Just Magnolia and Hanglar Challenge - a sketch

Friday - man this week has gone fast! Lots to show, Lots to still do, run run run...

This week at Just Magnolia and Hanglar Challenge there is a fabulous sketch to work with by fellow Dt member Jane . I loved working with this sketch.

A rare thing for me is I made the card first - then chose my image and colored it. Don't know why I did that this week, I NEVER do that. But I guess that was cuz I really liked the sketch and went to work on it... I saw these Webster Papers while cleaning out this week. That may have been my excitement for the sketch too...

So I followed the sketch... using sage green card stock, cream card stock and two pieces of websters pattern paper. Love the roses! So pretty! For my band across the middle I used a vintage piece of white ribbon lace that I painfully wove sage green ribbon through.... then once the card was done you can hardly see it! darn it. My sentiment is Rubbernecker stamps, well have of one... I cut the top of the sentiment off... just wanted this part "Live Laugh Love" Now for the image....
Used one of my gifted stamped out images, I colored her with my Copics - when done, the background was really white... so I colored that too... Love how that came out, it matches the papers much better - Now that wagon... well it was really empty, needed something. But I wasn't planning on adding any flowers to the card, didn't want them to compete with the pattern paper.... so I used them! I cut out a few of the roses from a scrap of the paper and placed them in the wagon! What do you think? odd?

Oh and then I decided that I wanted to go ahead and add the butterfly. There was one on the sketch, you can add anything really... but I went with the butterfly. This is a new die to me, I think I love it. Cheery Lynn Designs butterfly. You get three different dies in this set, I punched on Bazzil Bling card stock then colored with my Copics to give more colors and stickles for some added sparkle to the center.

This was a great sketch, I do believe that I will be using it over again. Hope you will be visiting the Just Magnolias and Hanglars challenge and trying it out yourself!

A Hubby day today - he is off work, and I think we are going to chill and do some Antique-ing. Just a day to see pretty things and let the brain rest.

Hope you have a wonderful day planned too! HUGS and-

Just Magnolia & Hanglar - Bev's Sketch

Hi - Today at the Just Magnolia and & Hanglar Challenge there is a great sketch from Bev! I had lots of fun with this sketch, was simple but left room to fill in whatever you personally like. Me... flowers :0)
So this week I went through that old stack of "shared" Hangar images that I have been hoarding for so long. I love this one, I think it is one of their older images. I colored with my Copics going with the colors from the My Minds Eye Honey Cake stack. Love these papers, all though I will admit, orange, light blue and pink... not a first choice color combo for me. But I do love it!

I stacked up lots of the pattern papers, sewed them together following the sketch. And then used a piece of orange netting for the band across the middle. Then added a few mulberry roses, pearl hat pins, Leaf punches from a punch I found at a local scrapbook store ages ago.. all it is marked is Punch Bunch. Then a few Martha Stewart branch punches. My sentiment is a ticket from Tim Holtz.
Of course I had to stickles the wings :0)

Thought I would share where I have been getting my newer 6x6 pads... probably shouldn't cuz once more people start buying there they will run out sooner and I may not get mine :0) - But seriously I have been thrilled with this place and the wonderful prices and shipping they offer.  So here is the secret... shhh....   www.scrapace.com

Maybe you already know them? You sign up, then every morning there is a daily email for you - they only have one item or collection per day - then it is done. And the prices are wonderful! And they have so many really awesome things! I have gone nuts for their collections of 6x6 paper pads. Gotten a bunch and they usually only cost about 12.00-15.00 for three different ones. Divide that out and that is a good price - and they ship pretty darn fast!  But every day is different, one day paper pads, the next ribbon, then some days thickers, and even some of the newer Spellbinders from time to time! So sign up.... but don't blame me ok?

Well - Gotta run - Hubby is fishing today, so the morning Animal rounds is on me... Have a great day - see you tomorrow for Animal Crackers!

Happy Friday - Today for the Just Magnolia and Hanglar challenge it is our Monthly Special Challenge anything Goes with an option. This weeks option is Circles. I hope polka dots count as circles ;0)

This weeks card was fun for me. I didn't really think at all. I had a new paper stack I got on sale this week at Micheals. Hubby took me in really.... he needed a frame, so I had to go and see what was new right? LOL

The stack is called French Country Collection, by DCWV. LOVE LOVE LOVE this stack!!! They only had it as 12x12... I think I need it as a 6x6 too :0) I colored up on of my shared Hanglars that had "circles" on it. Then picked a couple of card stock colors, white and light green to match the two pieces of printed paper I had picked. Layered everything up and attached it all together after rounding all the corners and inking all the edges with Old Paper Distress Ink. I then found a piece of wide ribbon that went pretty well, and it had dots too!

I then found some matching roses, punched out some MS branch and leaves... and all done in about 30 minutes. Well not counting coloring time, that took me a bit more time. Then I figured that it needed some sparkle - so I sprayed the card with shimmerz Sparkle... Really just the perfect sparkle to this card.

Hope you enjoyed it. Now make sure to go and visit the Just Magnolia and Hanglar Challenge... seriously trust me you are gonna want to see this weeks projects!!

Me... gotta run long list of things to get done today for work. Have a great Friday, see you tomorrow for Animal Crackers :0)

Just Magnolias and Hanglars - No Ordinary Sentiments

No Ordinary Sentiments???  Ok, that challenge stumped me too for a bit for this weeks Just Magnolias and Hanglars Challenge. But all that really means is to use something a bit different - not the regular Happy Birthday - Thinking of you - traditional sentiments. Don't have stamps that are Not the Ordinary? Then how about just typing up something on your computer? What ever it takes. Me... I had a stamp... couldn't find if forever, but then in the very last place I looked.. LOL there it was!

Love this Lucille Ball quote for a Birthday Card -
Can you read it? I don't like the font it is typed with... it is from a Close To My Heart set - Here is a close up....
Love it! I Love Lucy! LOL   For my card I used more of those My Minds Eye papers - this set is the Lost and Found Rosey set. Pretty colors in this one! I layered the two pattern papers with cream card stock and kraft paper. Sewed everything down, and added a satin ribbon. Then for more girlie I added some mulberry roses, Martha Stewart branch punches, and pearls.

My Hanglar girl is colored with my new ProMarkers - Really starting to adore these markers! I just need more ;0)
 The colors used are :
Skin - Ivory and Oatmeal
Hair - Carmel and Burnt Sienna
Dress and Purse - Pastel Beige, Marsh Green and Antique Pink
The back ground - Ice Grey 1 & 5

OH and shocker here... but I did the inside as well and actually remembered to photograph it! The Happy Birthday sentiment inside is from Alota Rubberstamps.

Hope you had fun with my Non ordinary sentiment card :0)

And hope you have a wonderful Friday! See you tomorrow for Animal Crackers!!!

Just Magnolias and Hanglars - Anything Goes with an option of Glitter!

Just Magnolias and Hanglars Challenge day and today is our Anything Goes day... with an option of Glitter to your project.

Me, I was trying to do a bit different in shape, I don't know it is still square-ish... so didn't do so good on the different aspect. But I got lots of Glitter in there!

Basically this is a simple easel card, I just didn't like the full size for my stamps - They fit so perfectly side by side. ;0) Love these adorable little Hanglars. And those huge wings leave lots of space for lots of glitter! The blue mat paper is also glittered paper ;0) DCWV Linen Collection. The flower pattern is also DCWV. I wanted something pretty across the top, and love the MFT die with those delicate scallops, they fit perfect across the 6 inch card, and make a topper I think. OH and do you love that sentiment :0) It is from Papertrey Ink. I found the metal flower in my stash while sorting this past week. It looks much darker here in the photo. It really does match better in person  -

So now pop over to Just Magnolias and Hanglars Challenge and see all the DT work. There are some wonderful things this week! Then join us - maybe add a little glitter?

Have a wonderful Friday! See you tomorrow for Animal Crackers!

Just Magnolias and Hanglars - Cooking!

Wow what a week... yesterday I was working along thinking wow I still have a couple of days to get things done before the weekend... and then duh... it wasn't Wednesday, it was Thursday! Where the heck did Wednesday go? Man I have been just totally lost this week.

I did manage to get my Just Magnolias and Hanglars project done, again this week not what I saw in my head, but I am happy that I even thought of this for the challenge this week. The challenge? Cooking... anything related to cooking on your projects. I somehow my mushy brain saw a scrapbook page for my 8x8 album. A recipe page! With one of my favorite Family recipes. Grandma Howell's Pralines! MMMM ok, so not on Weight Watchers approved list, but oh these things are soooo good!

Grandma made them when I was little, and now I make them every year at Christmas. My tradition now I guess.

I started off by making copies of Grandma's recipe card. Yes, it is stained, and dirty with years of baking around them. But I totally love this recipe card, in Grandma's handwriting as a gift to me when I married - wow nearly 25 years ago!
Then I found a couple of October Afternoon pattern papers, with wonderful vintage kitchen items on them. Layered with kraft card stock and pink card stock. All Zig Zag stitched together, then I stamped out Hanglar's kitchen cabinet ready for baking. All colored with Copics. A satin ribbon around the entire thing, for Grandma - she would have loved the added ribbon. Other than that there wasn't a lot of room for anything else, other than the title that I printed out and matted.

Now I am thinking it would be good to do this with a few more of our family recipes - "save" them in a different format you could say, right? And Food is an important part of our family too!

Hope you have a wonderful Friday  - see you tomorrow for Animal Crackers!

Just Magnolias and Hanglars - Pink, Purple and Pearls!

There is a warning on my card for this weeks Just Magnolias and Hanglars Challenge... you see I misplaced my MoJo in my messy craft room. Buried it somewhere... and I worked on this very plain card for over 2.5 hours and nothing worked. So I finally decided that sometimes, it just has to be left alone and be simple. Cuz nothing else will work for you.

Loved the challenge and was very excited about it, Pink, Purple and Pearls. I had visions of lots of pretty flowers and pearls for a very girlie card. But due to my craft room being upside down and having to work on 1/10th corner of my craft desk, I just couldn't pull off my vision. So Simple it was.... and is.  And hey... it will mail in a envelope easy :0)

The papers are Prima Sweet Fairy papers. Really girlie papers here! I sewed down the layers - My image is colored with Copics and then shaded with pencils. I cut her out to make her pop more against the light pink pattern papers. A pretty light pink satin ribbon around as a band, with a pink bow and pink satin rose flower. I found these pink roses at JoAnn's really sweet roses. My sentiment is from OH My Word. Then for the pearls I added 6 adhesive pearls to the ends of the label die. Simple...

Here is a close up of the Hanglar image...
Just love pink and purple together - Such a girlie color combo!

Now for some truly gorgeous cards - pop on over to Just Magnolias and Hanglars challenge and see the other DT work! Those girls rocked this week!!

I made sure to write down all the colors of Copics I used for this one... and now I can't find it!! I know it is on my desk somewhere! If I find them I will add them - sorry.

Have a great Friday! HUGS and see you tomorrow for Animal Crackers!

Just Magnolias and Hanglars - A beautiful Sketch!

Happy Friday! Again the week just flew by... maybe cuz Hubby was home most of the week and if we were not working on chores we were on the go... Always on the go! LOL

The Just Magnolias and Hanglars challenge this week is a great sketch - I went through some of  my older Hanglars. And found this cutie that someone sent to me stamped out. Thinner paper than I am use to but I went for it and for some reason I thought this would be a good image to try out coloring black hair... man that is tough!!! I really struggle with it. After about 400 layers of ink I settled on this. It still isn't looking like I want. But it is a better black hair than I have done before.
Ok now someone tell me what she is sitting in? I get the wooden box, but after staring at it for a while I decided cotton.... but why would she be sitting in raw cotton? LOL Oh well... cotton it is here.  I colored with Copics -
For my images I went through my scraps - and found some Graphic 45 and Webster papers, I just love blue and red. Denim and red really - I followed the sketch, and sewed all my layers down. Then added mulberry roses, and Martha Stewart Frond leaf punches. My sentiment is from OH MY Word. - easy peasy! Card went pretty fast, and I just love the dark rich colors -

Make sure to pop over to Just Magnolias and Hanglars to see all the DT's creations with the same sketch. Love how different they all come out! :0)

Lots on the to-do list today! So up early and off running.... chores chores chores! That way I can play a little on the weekend! LOL What is on your weekend list? Hubby has to work Saturday, so I am thinking maybe some crafting for me. Then Sunday we are painting the spare room and building the Ikea bookshelf we got -
