Animal Crackers - Drizzle Day

Howdy -

This week we braved the drizzle and mud to get out and see the ladies. Well that and take a look at the horrible destruction of the garden. The armadillos have really caused major damage to Hubby's garden so far. He was planning on putting in the tomatoes this weekend but with what they have dug up in his rows of potatoes he is really to upset and thinking he is going to have to go to war with the little armored varmints. Anyway back to cuteness... All the girls were lined up ready for breakfast, and being calm.

Hannah was standing next to her Mom Bella as if she new it was time to pose for me.

But then it seem that we were up a little early for Miss Bella as she kept yawning - :0)

They are too funny aren't they? But the most silly is usually Juliet - all though yesterday morning she too was not quite awake and was keeping a keen eye on "Dad" for her meal. She did make her way over to me and we had our little head scratches and ear rubs. Even though she was wet and a bit muddy....

Lacey was next to Juliet - I can't believe how grey they are all getting. Do you think they discuss that about Hubby and I too?

Before I made my way in as it started to drizzle more like a steady rain. I just had to show you the Amarillas Bulbs that are blooming like crazy right outside the back door. They shot up and just all started opening at once. They are so vibrant and pretty!

But I then headed back before I got soaked. And found this staring at me right inside the back door.

You would think he missed breakfast or something, but no that is just Bubba in is normal spot. Middle of the kitchen floor waiting for us to come back inside. Sometimes if he gets bored or tired, he will roll over and lay on his back with all four legs in the air just relaxing. He is the King of his castle -

Hope you have a wonderful weekend and have an Animal Crackers Smile

Thanks so much for visiting

Animal Crackers - Afternoon Stroll

Howdy -

Afternoon and found some girls out for a stroll. We love finding Turkeys wandering - we couldn't find their TOM he must have been just off in the brush. But these ladies were finding lots of snacks and making all kinds of noises. We pulled over and just watched for a bit. They are so cool to watch!

Crazy weather! This week it has been all about the WIND! WoW!  One afternoon the winds were gusting over 40MPH and that with very dry old trees equals lots of mess! On the way home one day this week my Sister called and she had down trees on her drive. We went by there... Helped with what we could but her main down tree was too big and needed bigger equipment so had to move on. Luckily her neighbor volunteered to bring over his tractor so Hubby could then deal with our driveway when we came through our gate! We had quite a few limbs and trees down. This weekend is suppose to be more high winds. Hope it isn't nearly as bad!

Went out to the see the girls while they were finishing off breakfast. I know... they pay no attention to me when that is their focus. But they are so cute so even if I don't get snuggles and head scratches they are adorable.

Lacey was done with her breakfast but still was busy doing some scratching and grooming... Those long necks are a big plus it seems! Wish things could be so easy when my itches come up!

Short post this week - Computer crashed this week.. My track pad mouse died... it has been a tech mess! Have a new computer on order. Because according to the very young smart tech-y guy at the store my computer is VERY old and I have to let go and move on. So I am working very slowly on a not so happy old computer that I completely understand how it feels! LOL

Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Me... I am pouting about my computer that I have worked on for many years and loved. I will learn to love the new one... I hope

Howdy - Welcome Sunshine!

Howdy -

After Cold - Snow - Cloudy - Rain - Drizzle and Cold for what felt like forever ... We have some Sunshine! And it is suppose to reach 80 this weekend! Gotta love Texas weather! The donkeys are all out enjoying the sun - and stretching out to get all the green growing on the other side of the fence panels it seems! LOL

"Dad" was out collecting all the water heaters, cords, and then cleaning the water troughs and filling them with fresh water, seems everyone was out enjoying the sprouts of green! Bella and Hannah were stretching out as far as they could to reach those sprouts. I was telling them to watch the pipes and that the cord was being picked up they would have to move, but they were not paying attention to me at all. No worries - nothing was plugged in and everything was safe and being picked up even if Hubby had to reach under those busy munchers going a million miles an hour!

Irene was getting a drink of water. There is something about getting the last before it is emptied and the first when it is filling up? I told her this had leaves and it was going to be fresh and clean in just a few minutes but she was happy with the leaves and grass as extra vitamins I suppose.

Then there was some loud screaming and Hee Hawing! Yep Juliet harassing poor Raffie through the fence. Teasing the poor guy. They were running up and down the fence. Hey they are getting their steps in I suppose!

And Raffie really does enjoy any attention he gets from any of the ladies!

Then calm and sweet Miss Fanci Pants slowly walked up to the side of me. "Hello... Can you pet me?"

She is so sweet and beautiful! Getting a bit of grey to her now. But still gorgeous. Love those deep brown eyes and long eye lashes! Love this lady! Did lots of scratches and loving on her!

Then there was banging on the pen across the yard... "Hello....... ME TOOOOOOOOO!!!"

No calm here... but still sweet! My boy Sergio. He is very pushy about his attention. Hubby and I were talking about Sergio and his pen. This year his pen has to be rebuilt. He has destroyed it - he has pushed and shoved around the panels so much, and time on top of that, they are starting to come apart. So new panels are needed to be put in place to fix areas that are about to fall over. It will have to be a panel at a time, with a guard in place to get it repaired. We don't want the guy to escape! LOL

Ok... last photo is a creature that if you are from around here you know very well. If not it might look pretty strange. This is an Armadillo - and it seems right now we are being over run with them! They are all over the property and are hunting and digging for their bugs for food.

Now that doesn't sound bad... but one does a lot of damage. A bunch of them does a ton of damage! Our property looks like a war zone!

A day ago this was a nice flat area -

And this is in just about every pen, and everywhere on the property. I got of the truck yesterday and nearly fell in a hole! Hubby kicks dirt around to fill holes as he walks around to fill the holes as fast as he finds them. Next day... more are there. Hope they move on soon!

Hope you enjoyed this week. And I do hope you have nice weather where you are -

Animal Crackers - Yep we Got Snow!

Howdy -

A rare thing in our parts! But we got snow! About an inch is what Hubby measured when he first went out. Me... Yeah I took his word -

I did send him back out later in the day to snap some photos before it was all gone. Hey I was inside making a pot of soup... so I was busy.. LOL Anyway he came back in with some fun photographs.

The Ladies pen of course... Rain Sleet or Snow - these girls will always be at their Hay bale having their meal!  Didn't even really take notice that Hubby was out there - oh Juliet did look his way to make sure they weren't getting anything special - but when they didn't she went right back to her meal.

Now the men... Nope they were doing just fine in their hut for the time being. Hay bale is there when they get hungry later if needed. For now they were just staying in their shelter.... LOL

It is beautiful though isn't it? Was melting pretty quick though. Most all of it was gone other than in the shady areas later in the day. We still had some the next day in those shady areas. But this weekend it is suppose to be in the high 60's so things will be back to normal!

Not normal but  becoming a little to regular... Our neighbors Sheep visiting... sigh. They ways though their not so wonderful fence and Hubby has to walk them all back and lead them back through and prop up the fence. Some days they come over just once. Some days 3 or 4 times. Then we don't see them for days. Then here they are again! I think Hubby is going to have to say something to them as they really don't mind their animals crossing over onto our property. But I would rather them staying on their side, it stirs up some of our fur kids when they all file through. I mean here you see just a few... and yes the two little babies in the middle are totally adorable. But when they visit it is more like 15-20 of them at times.

They need to stay on their side of the fence... and speaking of not liking on our side of the fence. Hubby was walking around checking things out and found these out near the front gate - uh nope don't like them here! Those are Coyote tracks in the snow - head off please! Oh Teddy would take care of him if he were to see him, but honestly I would rather him not - Just stay away -

Now this last photo is a horrible photo. It was taken in the dark with the flash from my phone. But it was too cute.  It was pretty darn cold on our snow day. And in Texas that means a Shut down from everything and stay home pretty much. So we were home late in the afternoon enjoying some old movies, after that soup I made...

And I had two special warmers on my lap. Yep both Bubba and Ferrari were curled up now were they keeping me warm? Or was I keeping them warm? Not sure but we were all three warm and happy.

I do hope you have a wonderful blessed weekend and that this weeks Animal Crackers has started it off with a smile!

Animal Crackers - Sweet Face

Howdy -

Quick Post today - Running Late to get to work. And most everyone was head deep in breakfast. I went out and Cocoa actually let me talk and give her a head rub. That is a nice big plus for to start the day. So sweet.

She must have already been out grazing most of the morning as she was sweaty. But she realized that breakfast was there so she headed over for that! yummy! Valentine didn't want to look up at all for me as you can see!

I got a pretty photo of Chica - All shiny and clean! She got a bath late the day before. Boy this girl HATES bath time!!

But once done she bounces all over the house, happy and clean. And she sleeps so well!! So pretty!

I snapped this photo the other day... It always cracks me up to find one of the kitties laying in their window bed watching the donkeys just outside the window.

I sat there for a long while hoping that one of the donkeys would turn around... sometimes they will come up to the window and put their head against the window to look in... it is a total stare down at that point. Really funny to watch. LOL One day I will get that photo!!

This next photo is Bitter Sweet. End of the day last bales to load.

A great feeling - The last few bales of hay in the field to gather up for the barn. The last bales of the year. So we now we pray we that we have plenty of hay for the winter all put up and ready. It is a great feeling to see a full barn -

Sorry a little short this week. October is our busy month, and this year they moved our show up a week so we seem to be a bit more behind than normal. Oh well we work well in a panic right? LOL

Hope you have an Animal Crackers Smiles! And we pray for all those effected by the Hurricane - People and Animals!

Animal Crackers - Sweet noses

Howdy -

Visiting the girls after getting a load of hay, the youngest were really wanting attention! Hannah was the first to push her way thru the fence to get her loving! Such a sweet girl!

Josie, Hannah's little shadow was right behind her... her eyes are so expressive! And usually not quite as pushy as Hannah she really does love the attention just as much. But being smaller than her slightly older 1/2 sister she is usually a step behind Hannah.

Last week we shared the men in their front pen while enjoying their hay. With a little bit of rain comes some growth of a tiny green grass.... that means they love to leave the hay and graze!!

There is nothing more peaceful than watching my donkeys grazing...

Speaking of peaceful.... Our kitties love to spend their time in the window beds... LOL

Very Relaxed...  LOL She woke up just as I snapped the photo... this is the "Mom why are you taking another photo of me?" Look.

Snapped this photo coming out the back door the other morning to send to Hubby.... LOL He hates these! Do you have Walking Sticks where you live?

I think they are kind of cool... but he says they are evil... LOL

Hope you enjoyed this week - and have your Animal Crackers Smile!

Animal Crackers - Day Late

Howdy -

Oops... Got working on a project in the house and well... days got away from me. One little project and now my house is all torn up and things are a big can of worms! But will be all worth it when done. Anyway the day got away from me and I didn't get my post done on time to go out on time yesterday. Guess that is just how life is lately. I'll do my best but things may from time to time go hay wire! Just how my life is now.  LOL

This week Hubby and I were up with the "Men" just after 7 am with their breakfast feeding. Always can count on some happy faces when they have been fed first thing in the morning.

Miguel and Flavio stopped and posed for the camera. Handsome men that is for sure! And looking  a little bulky too... he he

But that is ok guys will be good to keep you warm this winter right?

Now Diego... he didn't want to stop eating to have his photo taken. Chewing but finally did look over at us... Hey at least we got a glance during his meal.

The most skittish is always our man Patricio "Pat Man" But Hubby has a way with him and he stood and let him get a photo and then let him rub all over him. That makes me happy.

He was such a sweet friendly baby... then sold. When we rescued him back to keep him and Flavio from going to auction he was very skittish it has taken a long while for him to be as calm as he is. And really Hubby is the only one he will let rub on him most of the time. I occasionally can scratch between his ears and talk to him. But we do love him and I am so glad that he can live here stress free and happy now.

Lately we have been having lots of little feet prints on the trucks... hmmmm never had that before even with always having outside kitties. Hubby sent me this photo the other day to show me proof that it was both Greybeard and Momma that was guilty -

Not that they would ever be in trouble of course! LOL Hubby could never get mad at his kitties!

I just had to take a photo of one of his Hibiscus flowers this week to show it off. First part of September and they are just gorgeous!

They have bloomed all summer strong! Love this one with the dark pink flower pattern in the bright pink. Now he is getting ready for things to bloom for the fall. Always growing and blooming!

Hope you have a smile and sorry it was a day late!

Animal Crackers - Summertime

Howdy -

Well we have made it to August. And it has been a nice summer so far. We have had a bit of rain and it really hasn't been nearly as hot has normal summers. Now hat I have said that we will probably break records in August...

The animals all seem to be happy and enjoying the weather.

Happy chickens clucking and scratching around their coop.

I went in to talk to the goats. We don't have many goats now. Since we decided to downsize the goats it is not as loud in their pen. Little Penelope really has become so friendly. And now will come right to me. Love this pretty little girl.

And Chipmunk has really gotten calm since he is not the only male in the family.

He loves just laying in the shade chewing and chilling... he will come to the fence and get head scratches and is just so mellow now that he isn't competing for attention. We miss is brother but it is nice that Chipmunk is getting his share of attention.

Last week I showed our "Three Stooges" the three standard donkeys that are always together. I love that this week I got a photo of our "Mini Three Stooges"

Lacey, Vicki and Pepita - always together here they were cleaning up the last of the bit of hay that had blown around on the ground.... Don't waste a thing!

Had to show off Hubby's Purslane flowers this week. WOW they were going nuts! God's rain water and lots of sun and they were very happy!

Hope you have a very blessed weekend and hope you have an Animal Crackers smiles!

Animal Crackers - Silly drinking

Howdy -

I love that silly look while she is taking a drink. Not sure why they hold their tongue out while they are enjoying a cool drink in the afternoon, but they all do it. So cute.

And speaking of cute. Look at that face! Juliet and her long pretty ears! She is such a sweetie! A silly sweetheart!

And standing right next to Juliet was tiny little Josie... pushing her way to get her share of the attention!

She may be all grown up but she is still my tiny girl! Love her and all her whiskers!

Turned around and saw Miss Jackie watching me.

Such a pretty old goat! And her great long beard!

Walking back towards the house saw my three standards enjoying an afternoon snack. I love how they are always "The three Stooges" all for one and always lined up together!

I wish this photo did the color justice! It was so amazing! Bright Bright Yellow and Deep dark red! Was gorgeous!

Hubby and his flowers ... I am not allowed to touch. Not good with plants. But I love to enjoy how great he is with them... so I photo them! And do not touch them! LOL

Hope you enjoyed this week! And hope you have a blessed weekend!
