Tilda's Beach House & Its Donkey Day!
I colored both the beach house, by Stamps Happen Inc., and Tilda with my Koh-I-Nor pencils and Mineral Spirits (except for Tilda's skin colors I used Copics there). I cut Tilda out with my Fiskar's Fingertip Craft Knife. I rounded the corners of the beach house image and then picked out an orange and blue card stock follow the sketch and rounded the corners of them as well. I inked the edges of all three with a dark brown ink. The ribbon is American crafts, love how it has all the shades in it. Tilda was pop dotted onto the front. I gel pen stitched the edges of the orange card stock and then used three baubles on the right corner. Now if only Tilda would invite me to visit her beach house... wouldn't that be a great peaceful place to vacation!
This photo is pretty funny. You see they hadn't quite finished their last bale, but we needed to get one in anyway, so we left it wrapped and explained to them that until they finish the first one... no new bale. Like good children they are all eating the old bale... yea right... I saw them grabbing off the side of the new one as well! Oh well they are too cute to get upset at them. =)
This is one of the other pens, and this is Victoria and Ellie Mae. Ellie Mae is one of Hubby's favorites... she has that loud high pitch scream that just cracks us up! Sadly she has had a problem getting pregnant. We are hoping this is her year and will get pregnant this season, as she is already 5 and hasn't had a baby yet. Victoria is our spot that lost her baby this last spring. We think she is already bred again.

One more photograph. I know Annie would just never forgive me if I went one more week with out a Gloria photograph. So this one is for you Annie! Gloria was finishing her bite of hay as she was trotting over to me, she is really cute and man you should hear her talk! She is going to be a chatter box, she hee's and haw's more than any little one we have had! And yes she is still tiny! Growing but she is gonna be a small jenny.

Wading For You....
many stamps that qualified, but in honor of the the prize donated by Alota Rubber Stamps, "Lady in Water" and "Man Wading in Water", I made my card with the same stamps. I LOVE these images, I love that they aren't perfect. I colored them both with my Copic markers. Now I took some creative licence here... I made the guy have a what we call around here a "FARMER TAN". I love it! Ha! Thursday, August 28, 2008

Happy Birthday Ma Cherie!
I think this stamp is hysterical. I am having so much fun with these Alota Rubber Stamps they are just too cute and some are so funny, perfect for my friends and family. This is Ma Cherie... and this is my idea of how to spend the perfect birthday... PJ's, relaxing, watching your favorite chick flick (that you have to imagine) and eating your favorite candies brought to you by your honey. Ha! This of course would make a great Valentine card to.

A Spoon Full of Sugar all in Ribbons - and a House Mouse image!
YEA it is Tuesday and time for a Spoon Full of Sugar challenge! And before I get to this weeks challenge - WOW thanks so much for the Amazing response to the challenge, there were a bunch of cards submitted this past week and it seems that the news of being able to use any brand of stamp was very well received! Thanks and I hope that this week you have just as much fun... it is a great challenge. Ribbon.... now common I know we all have miles and miles of ribbon. It is one of my favorite things. I have literally hundreds and hundreds of different ribbons. The challenge this week is to pick three ribbons and use them on one card. Oh and the prize this week! There is a great sparkly prize this week which has been very kindly donated by Bryony from Silly Monkey Crafts. Silly Monkey Crafts now have Stickles in stock in lots of fabulous colours. And the winner will receive 5 bottles! Now that is just too cool!
Copics. And yes... I worked on it forever! But I am happy with my first time coloring this one. I picked a K&Company paper that was in the same green as the card stock and has the cutest little flowers on it. I then layered with white and green card stock and the image with pink and white card stock and then sewed everything together. I pulled out some vintage scalloped lace attached and then created a band for the top of the lace with pink and green satin ribbons. I found my pearl iron on beads and glued them down on top of the lace to go with the the pearls on the dresser. For the sentiment, I didn't want anything that would overpower all that was going on... this is a busy card. I found the words Embrace Happiness in my Papertrey Ink set at love how it fit on the bottom right corner of the image. And don't you think that is exactly what these three mice are doing? Monday... Slugs and Cinderella Tilda?

When I first saw this weeks challenge, I was like... huh? HANDS....? But then when I saw the DT cards I got inspired and went straight to this Tilda and the pocket watch I have been dying to used since I purchase at a local sale. I colored everything with my Copics even the face of the watch, I was trying to make it look old... but at least it matches. The papers are K&Co. love the colors. I used brown and dark blue card stocks with them and inked the edges of everything with a dark blue ink. I used a blanket stitch around the outer edge of the pattern paper and a regular stitch around Tilda. Prima flowers in all the colors were stacked and put in the corner. The twill ribbon seemed to fit. I have always thought of this Tilda as a sort of Cinderella image, and Wish.. Hope.. Dream.. just seems to fit. To finish off I used six baubles in brown in two corners. I had such fun making this heritage card. Sometimes I tend to get in a rut making bright bold cards, but I do love the vintage feel too. Wet Donkey Saturday
I don't think I have ever introduced you to Toffee and Coffee. These are two boys we purchased this last spring to sell. They are really sweet, a little skittish still, but that is our fault. We didn't have a pen to put them in with other donkeys that didn't have a Jack in it. And that would be not wise, as the Jack probably would have beat up on them. So they have been in a pen all on their own. But as of next week they will have a few pregnant girls in with them, and that should tame them down even more. And yes they are wet and that is mud all over them. I like when I sell my donkeys that they are beyond tame. They may not be super on a lead and trained and ready for a show, but they will come to you, enjoy being rubbed on and love to have treats fed to them. Usually spoiled rotten generally. =)

Well it was a long night, and I need to get dressed and get my stuff for my class and get on the road. My Sister is going with me, I need to pick her up on the way and it is about 45 minutes to the class. So I am off - Hope you have a wonderful Saturday and get to craft some!

A Bright Get Well Card

I love this image. I don't know who the maker is as it was sent to me by a very sweet friend. I colored it with my Koh-n-noor pencils and mineral spirits. I really love these pencils they are so vibrant! I still just wish they came in more than 24 colors. I high lighted with my white gel pen. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I colored first... then went to look for paper, I rarely do this, but was lucky how perfect is this piece of Sassafrass Lass paper? I have hoarded these papers for so long, love the scalloped edge. But I am getting better at using my stash. I matted the pattern paper with a bright blue before attaching to an orange card stock for the base. I matted the image with the same blue. My ribbon is from Heidi Grace, and the felt flower and leaves are from Creative Imaginations. The brads are also from Creative Imaginations how cool are they? They come with the matching ribbon tab. I doodled the edge of the card with both white gel pen and a blue Sakura glaze pen.
Tonight is a midnight crop at my LSS. Although with the Olympics on I haven't been getting to bed much earlier than that anyway. Hope you have something fun planned for your weekend. We have rain in the forecast, but that doesn't matter to me cuz I'll be cropping... and then Saturday I have a class at a different LSS. I haven't taught a class there before. I have done a Fiskar's training there and I know the owner, Hi Susan! But this will be my first "real" class. I hope they like my stuff - Oh and this is where I got the felt flowers... so I will be stocking up on more of those! I know everything revolves around my shopping. =)
Have a great Friday,

Purple and Green... love these together!

Pal and made the card as a gate fold opening. I double matted the Sassafrass Lass heart paper with hot pink card stock and white card stock and placed on each side. For behind the couple I cut a piece of hot pink and white card stock and wrapped two pieces of this lattice ribbon around the pink attaching only to the left side of the card.
married... I guess between the birthday last week and this I need to realize that I am getting older huh? =)Tuesday, August 19, 2008
