Animal Crackers - It takes Cooperation

Howdy -

Some days they cooperate...some days they don't. I think I took 50 photos yesterday and honestly most of them just were deleted. I have no idea why but Chica just looked sleepy and sad. As soon as she stood up she was running around Happy barking Chica... posing for me... NADA!

But there are some times I guess you just don't feel like posing and being your adorable sweet little face. This one cracks me up Her eyes look like "Mom, I am really not liking this today."

Then I went on to get photos of Autie - he got his mid summer haircut. Now I do our own doggie cuts here. They are not professional, and depending on Autie's mood and mine, they can be ok, or a bit ragged. But what matters is he feels better. His fur is SO thick, not like Libbie and Chica's thin long flowing fur.
But he refused to look  at me for his photo.. He just laid there posed in the sun turning his head and closing his eyes. And it wasn't a bad haircut this time! So he wasn't embarrassed - Maybe it is that he is looking so grey? We are all doing that boy...

Then I turned and saw Lizzy standing at the fence. She seemed to want to have her photo taken.
Pretty girl isn't she. I think we may see about breeding her this year. Waiting for the heat to end before we do that though.. right now that seems a ways off it is brutal!

A Sweet Friend (more like family) took this photo. I LOVE it. Kristen is a great photographer, and this one just melts my heart - she captured some personality here...
Patti, Vicki and Pavo watching "Dad" get hay out... was it going to be for them? Love the look in Vicki's eye... LOL Better be for us!

These boys... sigh they are such an awesome sight when coming home through our gate. But I think this Pandemic that has effected us all in our normal life might be effecting them too...

You see... we before this crazy 2020 year, we ate out at least once a week... shhhh sometimes more. And many of those times was our favorite Mexican food place, when leaving we each get our peppermints. And they then come home with us for when we come through the gate. They LOVE peppermints. Guess we are going to have to buy some mints at the store this week, as they are trying to figure out why we never bring them to them anymore. All though from this shot Flavio really doesn't need any candy... I tried the big boned, water weight, short legs reasons with him, but honestly he is just really got a belly on him. LOL I am right there with you Flavio, can't fault you until I take a look at myself boy! Sigh I miss eating out... mmmm Mexican Food! Ha!

Hope you all are safe, healthy and doing good. And hope my fur children gave you a smile this week!

Animal Crackers - Doggies and Kitty

Howdy -

This week I thought I might show the "domesticated" children. My doggies and kitty - now I guess we could say our pets. But honestly we all know that all our animals are pets. LOL

Chica... I really think this little girl is a super model. She see's the camera and she poses and gives me that look from those big brown eyes that just melt you -

Really she rarely takes a bad photo - Does she get a bit nuts and crazy when you say things like "cookie",  "green beans", "Daddy's Home"... yes she is a little bouncing ball. I think the only thing you can say is "Bath Time" that gets her to run and hide.

Speaking of Bath Time... I snapped this of Miss Libbie last bath she was begging me with those old eyes to sneak her out of the tub and wrap her up. Wish I could make her happy. But she really needs the bath...

Not sure why they all fight baths - they all love how they feel and sleep after a bath. Ok.. Autie doesn't fight a bath. He just loves the attention. He is a bit odd.

Yes odd -

At night Autie loves to get up in my lap to cuddle. He flips onto his back and has me hold him like a baby. He then falls asleep, snores and mouth falls open. From this view I feel like by baby boy needed to have braces. (insert rolling eyes here) And then we have to turn the volume up on the TV... he snores really loud.

Gato - oh my she has been ---- well pushy the last couple of weeks. She goes through these personalities - loving, hold me, I want your attention - then suddenly she is done - she wants to be left alone, don't mess with me. I guess a typical cat. Well the last couple of weeks she has wanted my total attention. Even when I was trying to do my crafting... right in the middle of where I was working.

Gotta love her, and always stop and give her attention. Ok maybe not when she is butting heads with me at 2 am to get my attention. But all the other times -

And then Miss Moxie -

This girl really believes she is is total control of all of the outdoors here. They are her Donkeys, her goats, her chickens to watch over. She stays her distance yes, but she is always there. My little rolly polly girl. Love that face!

Love all these faces. We are blessed to have all the animals in our lives. And I tell Hubby all the time that if I could I would bring them all in the house.. but for now I will love on my doggies and kitty inside.

Hope you all have a blessed weekend -

Animal Crackers - Yes.. he knows he is adorable!

Howdy -

My baby boy Autie was playing hide and seek yesterday... Just being totally adorable!!

Yes... he knows he is totally cute! He got another hair cut this week. This time I went shorter... his fur just grows so fast! He likes it, thinks he is a super model. I say just a cutie pie!

We have had lots of rain this week, which makes lots of weeds and things grow really fast. Great for Hubby's new garden, but the weeds wow... poor Hubby can't get a chance to mow around here cuz once it starts to dry out... here comes more rain. A Good thing for fresh grass to eat, but a little mowing would be nice too.... the weather also does a number on hair styles!

Waylon's cute little curled bangs are just hanging in his eyes! I would get a hair clip for him, but that wouldn't be very manly. It will warm up and dry up and then he will get his spring back!  Now I know you are wondering what is that weed hanging from his horn....

Domino found more...

LOL... was having a hard time getting them off... HELP ME MOM! as he was running towards me...

So I did just that and then we had some cuddles for some Thank you's ...

 Sweetie! Love this guy!

I know you are all yelling it out at me... Did Thelma have the babies yet??? Uh NOPE. She is driving me nuts! So we just won't talk about it at this time. Lets visit Alice and see if maybe she wants to deliver first maybe?

That big blank stare.. "UH NO I don't want to go first!" LOL I think she is behind Thelma... but who knows now. Goats just making me crazy! I want some babies to play with girls!

So then I went to talk to these four..

I am SO praying that this year these girls get pregnant. We didn't have luck last year with Vicky, Lacey or Pepita and our stud Raffie.... but maybe it was just not long enough or weather... or moon and stars alignment, I have no clue. So this year I am really praying that there isn't any problems and one or all of these girls get pregnant. We put Patti in too this time as she is an easy breeder and hoping that maybe a calmer donkey helps out. Long way out for babies... Late Fall.. that seem a long time, but we know time flies -

Now I told you about all the rain this last week. I thought it was funny I found these girls sticking real close to the door way to the coop.

Just in case one of those heavy rains came out of nowhere... smart chickens!

Hope you all have a wonderfully blessed weekend - those in the US.. a very Happy Mother's Day -
And the very best to my Mommy... WE LOVE YOU!

Animal Crackers - Love that Face!

Howdy -

Hasn't been the prettiest sunny days for snapping photos here - All though they say this weekend is suppose to be really pretty.  Hope the sun does come out and a few puddles dry up before it rains again.

I promised a photo last week of Autie - now this doesn't show his cute hair cut at all. I tried and triend to snap a decent photo. Thank goodness for digital! After 30-40 photographs I gave up. But then when looking through them on the computer... I feel in love with my puppy face!

When I was cutting him it felt like I took a ton off - but now after a week I should have taken more off his neck and head. Love my boy.

Another boy we love... Black Jack. "Dad" mowed his pen this last week. He has had his head down and been enjoying that he can get down to the new growth. Anything to make our old man happy.

We did some spring cleaning in the chicken coop. The girls hate change and disturbances. But after it is all done they settle down and are happy.

My older chickens haven't been laying many eggs yet this season. Wondering.. they are only two years old. Thinking maybe it is due to all the rain and clouds.

Oh well they are still my girls :0) Whether we get eggs from everyone or not.

Been watching my four goats that are or should be pregnant. Rhett is really getting wide and starting getting her milk bag. As is her sister Scarlett.. not as big - but still showing.  And she loves to talk about it...

The one I have been really watching is Crissy. This is her first time to be bred. She isn't showing hardly at all if any. First time mommas really do stress me. Usually they only have one maybe two babies.

Pretty girl... really hoping for some babies. Should be coming soon... can't wait to have more kids to play with!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend with beautiful weather!

Animal Crackers - Whoo Whoo?

Howdy -

Brrrr... a bit chilly out there isn't it? Good thing I had lots of photos last week in the sun, cuz this week I just didn't get any decent pictures. Well Hubby got one really cool photograph....

Yes, it is grainy and not a "great" photo... but I still think it is a great photo. You see we have had an owl camped out around here the last month or so. I know they are beautiful and wonderful and all of that... but they still freak me out when I have baby goats and when I let the dogs out after dark. So when I hear him close I call Hubby out to help be on guard just in case. I would just die if one got one of my dogs or baby goats. Well we heard him in the front of the house..... Hubby pointed his camera on his phone up towards a dead tree over our pond... he couldn't see a thing as it was pitch black... and look at the photo that he captured!! Cool huh? As long as that guy stays over the pond and not in the tree over my back yard and goat pen I am ok..... come after my kids and I am one unhappy momma! But it is a really cool photo!

Showed off Chica last week... Autie was also enjoying the fresh cut grass...

Just after I snapped this photo... he starting rolling... sigh boys....

Speaking of fresh cut grass... Lizzy was really thanking "Dad" for the buffet...

All of the baby goats were enjoying the grass... not much longer and they will be just looking through the fence with the adults.. as their horns are coming in and those heads are just about too big to fit through those squares! LOL

Now Paintbrush is one of our "old ladies" in the goat pen. And I think I am with her... Breakfast in Bed sounds just wonderful doesn't it?

Why stand when you don't have too? and besides breakfast is closer and does happen to be awful soft!

I have been trying to figure out an issue with our big boy chicken Leon...

You see his tail feathers have been getting lighter and lighter in color. Just his tail feathers. Well the other night I went out just after the sun set and found out why. And I don't blame him at all. You see as cold as it has been at night here I have been running heat lamps in the chicken pens. Well Leon has found that he likes his rear end warm.... so his tail feathers have been right under the heat lamp. Not near enough to touch - but enough to fade them I guess! LOL

Hope you are inside where it is warm today - or at least bundled up and staying warm! Went out on errands yesterday and wore my heavy jacket... oops. Nearly froze! Here in Texas I just don't pull out my real coat much, but today... uh I will have my coat when I go outside! But the weatherman said on the news last night that it will warm up first of the week again... suppose to be 80! How insane is that. Then Wednesday another cold front and high of 48... gotta love Texas Weather! Only here .. flip flops one day - boots and coats the next!

Have a great day -

Animal Crackers - Autie Yawns

Howdy -

Lazy Afternoon here - At least Autie thinks so -

Last week I told you I had taken a more photos than I could show you - so this week I am sharing the rest of them... they were some cuties that I just had to show off... Autie was so ready to head back inside to his pillow and crash. I think he yawned three or four times... then I yawned... being lazy is a contagious thing you know...

Doc caught it ... he was so relaxed - And adorable!

Gonna be a loud week around here next week.. it is already time to wean the boys off the Moms. So depressing they are growing up so fast. Doc I think will be ok... his brother Wyatt is going to be the very sad boy. He is attached to his Mom's side and is really going to be upset when they are taken away from his Mommy.

Now we did have a major accomplishment this week with the "kids" - Lizzy is officially the first of the babies to figure out how to jump on top of the huts. They have all mostly figured out the tops of the igloo huts - but the larger structures are a big deal to be able to climb on and relax up in the air above everything. Lizzy was so very very proud! As was I ... I just forgot to run in and get my camera... next time...

Guinea Girl was relaxing in the hay too...  These girls really do crack me up - they are in total control of the goat pen. And goats dinner looks like a soft bed so be it! LOL

Love this shot...  Now only with your good girl friends are you ok to lean back and scratch your rear end. Belle is really enjoying that fence is just the perfect place for that perfect scratch!

I could sit and watch these animals for hours. They are always so entertaining - and sometimes so peaceful. Truly we are blessed to be given opportunity to watch over them.

Hope you can have some time to enjoy some furry kids - I think with the weather being nicer today Hubby and I are going to take some time to enjoy our kids - Sounds like a great little break to me.

Animal Crackers - Details in Close Ups!

Howdy -

I have been really playing with the new camera. OH MY ... totally loving it! You may be seeing lots of close ups as I just am crazy about the details I am getting with them.

The doggies actually were sitting still and enjoying the wind right before a storm yesterday afternoon. So I snapped a few.. or hundred photos of my kids.

Wind was really blowing... Autie was a dirty mess from playing outside but still as always a handsome boy.

Libbie was so sleepy and enjoying the wind and great temps. Heck I though about sitting down on the step next to her and enjoying for a while... LOL

Chica had found a not so wet place in the yard and was enjoying the brief sun.

Love this one of Orchid - wind was blowing her feathers up, but that detail in her face! She is a beauty!

Miss Jill  having a little afternoon hay -

Sweet girl. Hard time on her horns, but she is a love.

Only got one donkey this week. Girls had already moved over to the far pasture to be under the large tree for the showers. But the boys were finishing up their hay while it was dry.

Ramon was a mess from the rain earlier, but he is has such wonderful coloring.

Little bit of optical illusion that Peso was standing behind him... that grey body is not him. LOL

I am just having so much fun with my new camera... may even start looking into some fancy filters for some artsy photos... or not the natural photos are making me happy right now.

Weather channel is saying 100% chance of rain, and heavy storms today - But after seeing the snow up north I am ok with rain... wow looks so deep and cold! Tell me where you are what the weather is like where you are...

Hope you have a blessed wonderful weekend - I will be indoors Spring Cleaning today... Late or Early how ever you would like to look at it. I just got going this week and now I might as well keep going!

Animal Crackers - Some are Smart... Some are not...

Howdy -

You think these three are a little sad? They know when we have shows.. as I start stacking things up for Hubby to load. Yesterday afternoon these three were all laying near my pile with long sad faces. You would think that we abandon them for days at a time... LOL They know we never leave them too long. Just not hear every second for them... hate to tell them I am working ahead now they think every time we go out the door that is it.. then as soon as I come back in, even if it is 5 minutes later they act as if I have been gone for a month! LOL Sweep puppies...

Hubby snapped this one a little while back and I don't think I shared it. This is Sweet Pea... She had a problem....

Only a couple of the goats wear collars.... and Sweet Pea isn't one of them. hmmmm...  So now how did she get it off one of the two older girls.. how did she get it around her neck... and how did she get her leg stuck as well? hmmm. Oh well Hubby saved her and took it off her. But as I have trained him well he snapped the photo first. :0)

Now the chickens have really been down on their egg productions lately... one to two a day is what we have been getting lately. Normally I get 6-9 a day. But yesterday I was dancing around happy when I went out to get the eggs...

One of my little heritage girls have now started to lay!!! Not sure which one, I tried to get someone to claim their little tiny egg... but they were just interested in the bag of lettuce in my hand. So happy... so the other girls should be right behind her! So excited!!! Should get some blue or greenish ones soon.

Now the reason my older girls productions numbers are down is one the heat... and they are really into their moulting time.. a few just are not their prettiest right now.

But we still love them...

One more ... not the best photo, a little grainy... but it was too cute to not show you.

You see when the moon is high and full the donkeys love to roam around in the moonlight. But then the days you need to crash and take naps. This was about 6pm when had just come home and were coming through our gate... all three standard donkeys. Cocoa, Teddy and Valentine were crashed out cold! Valentine actually was laying out flat when we first came through the gate but just as I snapped he raised his head up to make sure we were ok. As soon as he saw it was Mom and Dad he flopped back over. We aren't no big deal. LOL

Well today I am doing a Doll Show. Not many antique dealers attend this show. Maybe 1/4th of the dealers. I have done it a few times over the past couple of years. Not Hubby's cup of tea... LOL But Since I do the antique bisque dolls and antique doll furniture and the show is only 15 minutes from home I like doing it. Wish me luck! For selling and for finding a few goodies too! :0)

Hope you have a fun day planned!
Have a great one!
