SPOOKY Stampavie Challenge!

BOO! hope I didn't scare you... but today is the Stampavie Challenge and the theme is to use Spooky Colors! - Now the new Stampavie Tina Wenke Halloween images are anything but spooky... more adorable, just love them!

For my card - I went with the Kitten in Pumpkin Costume, I came so close to buying Autie a pumpkin costume this last weekend, but passed... but he would have been just as adorable as this kitty I am sure!

So for my spooky colors I started with an orange coredinations card stock, matted with purple. I love this combo.. and sometimes Halloween is the only time the work so perfectly together. I found 3 pattern papers from the Cloud Nine glitter collection. Then sewed them all together with a bright orange thread, zig zag stitch. I again used my K I Memories Happy Halloween sentiment ribbon, it is almost gone... will be sad as it is has been fun, and it has the adhesive already on it so it is really quick to use.

The image is of course colored with my Copics... except for the sky. Loving using the iridescent chalk  - gives the sky a bit of sparkle. The carded seemed to need just a bit more, so I added a Want 2 Scrap bling flourish - love them, but it really doesn't show well on this card does it??? Darn it...

Stampavie Challenge - Die Cuts anyone?

It is time for the Stampavie Challenge! And this time we get to play with our die cuts! We all love them, we all have a ton of them, so this is pretty easy challenge this week -

Me... I used my Nesties - :0)

I started with the the Sugar Cookie Bazzil Card stock, matted some GORGEOUS Websters Pages. These normally would be papers I would put into my stash and pet once in a while ;0) But I am trying hard to use all of my pretty things and not hold on to them forever. So I matted them onto black cards stock that I have distressed, then sewed together. These papers are so gorgeous that I knew I didn't want layers covering them, so that was it, then I went to work on the Die Cuts and what image I wanted to use.

Noel Joy seemed perfect to match the papers. I colored with my Copics, then cut out with Nesties Labels 17, and inked the edges with distressing ink. Matted with the black card stock distressed. I then wanted it to have a vintage snow look to it, so I sprayed the image with Smooch Spritz - Vanilla - I think I like how that came out.. LOL

For some added "Die Cuts" I cut out one of the Fancy Tags - cut it in half and used it as a sort of decoration behind the image. Then added some fun embellishments. Black metal adhesive dots.

 
For the bottom of my easel card I did it all over again, except this time I used the JustRite sentiment "Fill Each day with Joy" - Seemed to really go well with the Stampavie Sarah Kay image "Noel Joy" -

Stampavie Challenge - Feeling like Fall!

Today is our Stampavie Challenge! Yea! And it is starting to feel a bit like Fall, so how about a Fall color theme! Love these warm colors -

For my card I used the new Sarah Kay image "Francesca in the winter field" I think she is just gorgeous. Love her scarf blowing in the wind. I colored with my Copics and high lighted with white gel pen. Then I cut her and a mat out with my Label Nestie. My papers are Fancy Pants Designs, I love when I dig deep into my stash :0) Lots of yummy papers I need to use more often. I sewed everything together with a deep orange brown card stock.

For the embellishments, I cut out some leaves with the Spellbinders Dies with Core'dinations cardstock, then sanded them. Some adhesive blings and a ribbon as well. A simple sentiment from Hero Arts completes it I think.

Stampavie Challenge - With Brand New Sarah Kay... AGAIN ;0)

Stampavie Challenge Time!! YEA!! I have so missed joining my fellow DT for this challenge every two weeks - I think I am back into the groove now though -

This week the challenge is an awesome sketch from DT member Marga - I love this sketch and will be using it for sure in the future again!

I used a new paper stack from The Paper Studio called Mirabella. I love all the patterns, the vintage feel of them - perfect papers for Sarah Kay - this is "Rose cuddling the winter bunny" do you love her or what???

So the papers are stacked according to the challenge sketch, and I sewed them all down, I used a Hero Arts sentiment ( I think that is right..) Then for a bit of added embellishment I added three adhesive pearls.

Here is a close up of the New Sarah Kay - Rose, I colored her with my Copics. I have had a few comments about the fact that these new Sarah Kays seem different - are they the same artist? Yes they are, just a less known collection of a bit older girls. I like them :0) Then again you know I love all Sarah Kays :0)

Now to a challenge! Today is the Stampavie Challenge and the challenge this week is to make a gift tag. Now that leave lots of room for what ever you see as a tag. Me.. I went more with a gift card. Sorry no real MoJo this week -

I started with my "tag" part... I knew  I wanted to make a card like tag and so I used one of the new Nesties I think this is Label 11 or maybe 12? I put it through my big shot folded and placed the left side just inside the die to allow it to not cut at the fold. Does that make sense? I used Bazzil Dotted Swiss card stock, love those dots.

For my image I chose Stampavie's Helz Cuppleditch's Ruffle Spring Plaque  - I think it is a really cute image, and was the perfect size for my little card. I cut it out with the same Nestie and then doodled around the edge. Ruffles is colored with my Copics and then I added some rhinestone bling for some sparkle.

Then the inside:

Very simple - I cut a piece of cream colored card stock, doodled the same as the front and then stamped the "For You" Sentiment (by Stamps by Judith) -  I really like how it came out. I may just have to make more of these little cards - was really kind of fun to work with such a small size.

Stampavie Challenge - Favorite Colors!

Happy Monday...  It is time for the Stampavie Challenge again! YEA! And this week is pretty fun and simple challenge. To use your own favorite color combo - Now for me, well my mood determines my favorite colors - and I go through periods where I use lots of one combo, then get tired of it and move to something new.

To be honest, Pink and Brown are one of my all time favorite combos... but I just haven't been in the mood for pink and brown lately. I also love purple and green, and aqua and peach.... LOL I have lots of favorites. Lately I have been really into country looking colors too.. I love deep red and blue - and it was a perfect combo for the Sarah Kay image, Adele enjoying fresh apples. Love this image, and while digging through my stash last week I found two rolls of ribbon I totally forgot I had. The are Debbie Mum collection from JoAnn's and they are PERFECT for this image :0)

Just ADORE the country look of this card! I found a checked pattern paper from DCWV, then Red Card stock and Bazzill Dotted Swiss blue card stock. I sewed down the checked paper and the lots of layers for that band. The two ribbons (do you love them or what???) and then a scrap of green checked paper, then two borders of Martha Stewart's embroidered flower punch, all on a red card stock backing, then sewed to the base. LOVE IT!

My image is colored with Copics - I tried to make it have that vintage country look with the bold colors as well... I sewed it to a scrap of the red and blue card stock.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts - and is placed in a metal circle label thingy... Oh and I also found two metal corner embellishments to match.

Stampavie Challenge - GLITTTER! YEA!

We all love the bling! And today is the day for the Stampavie DT BLOG challenge, and it is to have some sort of Glitter on your card! With all of the yummy glitter papers, stickles and precious glitter out there this is pretty easy and pretty darn fun!

I started with Tina Wenke's Hedgehog with Umbrella, ok... we don't have Hedgehogs here in Texas.. at least around here we don't. So I don't know much about them, but if we did have them, I wish they would be as cute as this one! I have colored with my Copics - and then added some "GLITTER" bling with stickles.  I cut her out with my Nesties.

For my card I went with lots of yummy glitter papers from My Minds Eye - each of these pattern papers have lots of sparkle to them. I sewed everything down with zig zag and straight stitches. I ran a piece of satin ribbon across the middle. looks more creme here than it does in person.. hmmm wonder why? My sentiment is from The Cats Pajamas - perfect for this image don't you think?

Stampavie Challenge - all in white!

Hi - today is the Stampavie DT Challenge! Every two weeks the Design team of Stampavie challenge each other, and then we ask you to join us for a GREAT Prize!

This week the challenge was all white.. with just a touch of one other color and your image. Now don't panic... I first thought all white! how can I color an image all white? But then read and figured out the card is all white... with one color and then your image as your would normally color it. So it is a pretty easy challenge once I got it straight in my head.

My card is pretty simple, I started off with Stampavie's Penny Johnson's Rosie Rabbit, colored with my copics, then cut with circle Nesties with the rose popping out of the circle. Matted with my "touch of color" a deep red card stock.  For my card - white card stock with the corners rounded, then I cut a 5x5 square and punched with a Martha Stewart border/corner set. I think this is called something like scallop dots.. maybe :0)  - I then placed the same deep red behind it for those wonderful dots and scallops to show off. A Cuttlebug circle embossing folder was used to make the center of the card have some texture. The ribbon band is a simple satin ribbon. Then for a sentiment I went really simple... "Hi" cut with a sizzix die.

A recipe for this weeks Stampavie Challenge!!

Stampavie DT Challenge! And today the challenge has a list of ingredients for a wonderful Recipe! I will admit when I sat down to make my card, I thought wow... that is an odd list of ingredients, I sure hope I can get them all in... but it really wasn't to hard at all. :0)

Now here are your ingredients for your recipe to a good card:
- 5 flowers
- 2 different ribbons
- At least one punch/shape/die cut
- Anything pink or blue

And here is what my recipe cooked up :0)

Now I may have stretched the ingredients a bit... I mean turquoise is a shade of blue Right? and my die is what I cut my image out ... love my new Spellbinders label die. Perfect to use the SU ribbon slit punch to run a ribbon through :0)

Ok, so let me back up a bit, a dark brown card stock for my base. Then the two pattern papers are from My Minds Eye and both have a pretty glitter to them. I sewed them down with a dark brown thread in a random stitch. My first ribbon is used as a band between the two patterns. My image is colored with Copics - This is Stampavie's Gillian Roberts Teddy and Me - adore this image!

I really tried hard to give the teddy bear some texture... how? I colored and shaded as normal. Then I took a paper towel and dabbed it with the blending solution on the bear. I like how it came out, and hope to try it more with different textures. It is then cut out with the labels die, and then I took one my BG10 Copic and shaded around the edge. Punched the SU ribbon slit and ran my second ribbon through.

I added the 5 flowers stacked in to the bottom corner attached with jewelry spacers and mini brads and decorated with Martha Stewart branch punch.

My sentiment is an epoxy sticker from Cloud 9, i think .. Love it, I stuck it to a white card stock and left a border around it, then colored the edge with the same Copic BG10.

Stampavie Challenge - Easter

Hello! Today is the Stampavie Challenge! And the challenge today is to make an Easter Card. With so many wonderful Spring images from Stampavie this is a pretty easy one!

For me I decided to use the new Helz Cuppleditch image Easter Scenery - a wonderful image!

I colored with my Copics, then pulled out my air compressor and sprayed the background. I love how it came out! I was going for that sunrise look? It kinda worked I think! I cut it out with my oval Nesties and then inked the edges with a light green ink and a sponge. All of my Happy Easter sentiments were... well cutesie looking. Does that make sense? I wanted something small and more "adult" so I had to make due and hand wrote it, and then doodled around the edge while I had the pen in my hand.

For my card I started with a peach card stock for the base, and then found an olive green card stock for the mat. The striped pattern paper is from Webster's pages. A new company for me, but really wonderful paper! Double sided, and great patterns, some really vintage looking, love those. I sewed the papers together with a zig zag stitch, then matted the oval with the same two card stock, and sewed those down. I found a piece of latice ribbon, that seemed perfect - I ran it across the center and then pop dotted my oval down.

The Stampavie DT Challenge IS BACK!!! SPRING In!

 BLOG CANDY LINK IS ON THE TOP RIGHT OF MY SIDE BAR :0)

 Yea!!! The Stampavie Challenge is back at the DT BLOG!!! We took a short break for the holidays and then for CHA, but now we are back and Springing back into action!  The challenge this week is a pretty easy one, and one we all I am sure looking forward to! SPRING ... I am so ready for the cold, cloudy, wet weather to go away and the sun, warmth and flowers to return! How about you?

For my card I pulled out one of the new Penny Johnson images "My Little Lamb"... now me personally "My Little Goat - Lucy" would have been more me... but I do love this image with that fuzzy little ewe.

Isn't she just so pretty? Love her hair blowing in the breeze. I colored with my Copics and then cut out the circle and the mat in green card stock with my Nesties.

 

For my card, I pulled out some really pretty papers!! Love all the flowers! This is K&Company Designer Paper Stack - Terri Conrad Sweet Life. I used the smaller pattern as the back ground matted on white card stock then placed on the green card stock card base, then sewed it all together with a pretty bright blue thread on my machine. For my Loops around my circle - that is that Simon Says Blog tip again! Using border punches around your shapes! I am having so much fun trying all my border punches.. I have found that looser patterns are much easier at tighter circles :0) My favorite is the Martha Stewart Loops punch... used here.  

I then found a larger flower pattern in the paper stack and cut out two groupings of flowers for the bottom two corners. Now my only regret on these papers is there is no bling... these gorgeous flowers need some bling!! Well that is what we have Stickles for right? I placed them in the corners, and the filled in with two shades of bling! Has lots of sparkle now! LOL

My sentiment is from the dollar spot at Micheals.. Celebrate Spring - thought it was appropriate for the challenge.. wink wink...

A Stampavie Sketch Challenge -

Hello and Happy Monday from a crabby sick person!! Hubby has been sick for over a week. And I was so happy that I had not caught whatever he had - until last night... I was sitting there enjoying the baseball game cheering on the Yankee's when around the 4th inning... I started feeling it... scratchy throat - achy. I just told myself I was tired... uh no by the 7th inning I was sick! I feel like a truck has hit me and left a horrible soar throat and a runny nose - Too much too do to crawl back into bed today... I am just going to fight this off and keep moving. Gonna try anyway!

So for today I had a gorgeous sketch to work with from JayJay for the Stampavie Challenge as soon as I was emailed this sketch I loved it, it has so much going on! It all came together so well.

Now for me this sketch had a victorian feel... and that meant a Sarah Kay image! YEA! Now I started to pull out one of the new Noel images, but I had some new papers sitting on my desk that I really wanted to use, so instead I decided that Lucy and her kitty was just calling out to be inked up and put with the papers. I love this image - she and the kitty are just too cute. Plus I thought she would look cute sitting in the oval with her feet dangling out. I colored with my Copics, then cut out with my Nesties and inked the edges with dessert sand Mementos ink.
Those papers... aren't they pretty? They are Basic Grey Nook & Pantry, really cute cupcake papers is what caught my eye with this collection, but then I saw all the other pretty papers and had to have it. I got the 6x6 stack... again.. trying to be good - but now I think I should have gotten the 12x12.
I followed the sketch and cut the three bands and worked on my layers and sewed them down. For the flourished above and below the oval I pulled out my MM Slice and cut out of a matching solid in the collection. And since I had the slice out I decided to cut the sentiment out with a shadow background. All the papers just worked so well together.

The ribbon is from Martha Stewart ribbon, loved the colors when I purchased it almost a year ago on sale, but now I really do as it really goes well with these papers doesn't it? I punched my flowers with EK Success Retro flowers, with jewelry spacers and mini brads.

Stampavie Challenge goes Spooky!

Hello - it is time for the Stampavie DT Blog challenge! And this week JayJay has asked us to create a Halloween card with any Stampavie image. hmmm now that is a challenge! At least it was for me. :0) I really stressed on this one!

I went through every image... and really was stumped for a while, then I decided to create a background with an Alota Rubberstamp image - The Spooky house was perfect - then I found the Sarah Kay Time for Apple Pie - now for this card I am thinking she is out trick or treating and has gathered a bunch of candied apples... hey it is my imagination, and that is where it was going.. LOL But it needed something more - so I pulled out Rachelle Anne Miller's Hoo Hoo There image! Owls watching down on her was perfect! I colored everything with my Copics.. cut out the Sarah Kay and the RAM Owls and went to work on the card.

I used a Core'dinations Vintage orange card stock for the base. With a black card stock on that that I sewed with orange thread. A scrap of the new Basic Grey Halloween paper was perfect to mat the house image with.
I pop dotted the SK and the RAM images on the card - and then added some Martha Stewart branch punches to the owls. Instead of a sentiment I used some of the last of some Happy Halloween ribbon. I actually was pretty happy with how it turned out - especially for how much I stressed about it for days! Whew... a harder challenge, but really fun!

Stampavie all BOXED up!

Hello - Sorry missed yesterday - but WOW I couldn't get online most of the day! Remember all of the drought.. the need for rain? Well Feast or Famine!!!! From Midnight until 8AM we got 10-12 inches of rain! yes.. 10-12 inches!!! WE were really floating... donkeys were wading thru water all day! And guess what .. more rain is predicted all week... sigh all or nothing!


Well how about a project? Today's project is the Stampavie Challenge! And this week the challenge is to make a box.. yep any type of box, anything you like, and then decorate it with a Stampavie image.
I chose to start with the Gillian Roberts Mice and Mistletoe image.. just love it.. really sweet. I colored with Copics - I then backed it with pretty red and white elastic ribbon.

For the box I used a simple box template from Splitcoast Stampers - it is a 3x3 box and you can find the wonderful instructions HERE

I used a red card stock for the base, white card stock for the lid with a top of Red candy cane pattern paper - I believe it is from Imagination?? I added a sheer dotted ribbon around the edge. For the sides I decorated with pieces from the same collections paper. Then added some "bling"...

I hope you like my little box - I think I will save it for someone special to put a "gift" into! Now you can visit the Stampavie DT Blog and see all the DT boxes! OH MY.. there are some really wonderful 3-d items there!

Today is the Stampavie Challenge!!

Hi.. and Today is the Stampavie Challenge! It is every other Monday and this time the challenge is an Autumn theme - Boy am I ready for that!! This Summer was a hard one, and VERY HOT so common Autumn!

For my card I pulled out Stampavie's Tina Wenke "Mouse Couple on a Leaf" I love the sweet whimsical feel of all of her images, and this little mouse couple on the fallen leaf seemed perfect to me for an autumn card.


I colored the image with chalk for the background - much softer feel, then the focal point of the image with my Copics.

For the card I just had to use some scraps from the card I used last week... when I saw the leaves I just had to use it again. Still don't know who made it, but I love it! I layered that on a piece of Bazzill Dotted Swiss dark green card stock that I punched with EK Success Zig Zag. that I stitched with white gel pen. I took a scrap of the green and put a piece of fancy ribbon across the middle. The colors matched really well.

I then cut three leaves with my MM Slice that I inked. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.
