A Spoon Full of Sugar - Flower Power!

This week at Spoon Full of Sugar the challenge is Flower Power! I went just a bit over board...

But then again can you ever have too many flowers? I went with the new Stampavie image Oh Happy Day, from the Laurence Collection. Love this kitty pushing the flower cart. I colored boldly with my Copics and then cut out with Label 17 Nestie. For my papers I again went with October Afternoon. The colors were just wonderful for the image. I took the striped paper and cut it into four pieces to get the stripes going each different direction. Sewed all the papers down.

The sentiment is from Papertrey ink - also cut with Nesties 17. I created the mats by using a deep red copic and drawing around the image and sentiment. Simple and effective. Then I chose flowers from my stash to match the flowers in the cart and loaded them up! Martha Stewart Frond leaves and stickles for the centers of each flower. Love the layered look of all the flowers! And it for sure fits in with the theme of Flower Power, don't you agree? ;0)

Gotta fly... busy day today, lots of things on my to do list since Hubby and I were basically lazy yesterday. I know, I know... I said we had lots of chores to get done, and once the day got going, well... it was just too darn windy and hot to work outside. So we watched movies inside :0) While I crafted and did laundry. OH the laundry counts as a chore??? LOL

Stampavie - TheScent of Sweet Memories - A Scrapbook Page

Happy Memorial Day! Today I wanted to show another Scrapbook Page. This is my Grandma and her brothers and sister. This photo is in VERY poor condition. I did a few repairs on photoshop, I am sure a professional could have done more and a better job. But I was happy with my work, considering how bad the photo did look. I know you are saying really, it was worse? Yes, it was, but I also wanted to leave some of the look, as that is part of its character right?
So for my page I went with the really vintage look - do match the photo.

I started with a 8x8 light purple card stock that I inked the edges. The old handwritten piece of paper that I tore and inked was a free printing off the web. I just googled antique paper images and bam.. a million of free images!

Behind the photo I used a piece of the Tim Holtz Glassene paper. Is that spelled right? I don't think so... anyway it is a really cool brown waxy paper, I crinkled it up and I love it! A rhinestone dark brown large flourish is split and added to each side of the photo. Lovin the bling!

Then the beautiful image! Totally loving these new Stampavie Penny Johnson Vintage collection. This image is The Scent of Sweet Memories - totally gorgoeous!
I colored with my Copics - in all lighter vintage colors. Then I went over the entire image with Tattered Angles Glaze. Really a cool look, a shimmer and vintage look to it now.

The sentiment "Cherish" is a very very very old rub on I had in my stash. I think it may be from 7 gypsies. I was so worried to try and use it, cuz I didn't know if it would actually stick it was so old. But whew.. it did!

Hope you aren't minding me getting back to my scrapbooking... cuz I am having a ball going through photos and doing pages! :0)

Dust It Off Sunday - High Hopes, My BIL's Birthday Card

This past week was my BIL's birthday- and I needed a manly card for him. Manly, with a bit of humor :0)

I decided to pull out a couple of my favorite High Hopes stamps. These stamps are so fun, especially for me to use... LOL I don't know if the donkey image was intended to be a "mini" donkey with the farmer. But it works out great for cards that I send.
I masked off the donkey after stamping, and then stamped the farmer. This way he can be standing behind the little donkey. They are colored with my copics, then shaded with pencils.

Was a tough decision finding the right pattern paper for this image. Due to the two images it really is quite large, so I didn't need a bunch of paper showing. But then I found this perfect plaid paper from DCWV! I sewed it down to a dark brown card stock, matted the image to the same, and then wrapped them with twine. Don't know why... but it needed something, and the twine seemed to work. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

I did the inside with scraps from the card stock and the pattern paper. And used a matching sentiment from My Favorite Things on the inside.

My BIL seemed to like it :0)

So what are your plans for the holiday? Us... same thing we always do on Memorial Day Weekend. Chores. Yep we are usually working on some project. Building a donkey shed, a small barn, painting, mowing, hauling hay and the usual upkeep on the donkeys - hooves, feed and such. YEA a restful relaxing weekend! LOL seriously this year, I think it will be just mowing, clean up and donkey hooves and such. Not too bad this year.

Lina was rubbing her lips on the fencing yesterday afternoon... I guess when you need to scratch and have no hands or fingers.. you use what you can. But Ewwww... she really does need her teeth cleaned - But she doesn't need braces - look how straight and perfect they are :0)

Hubby calls this little girl "Little Bitty One" she is tiny, and she is full grown. :0) Love these little bitty donkeys!



And she is really a pretty little girl, she gets her petite looks from her Momma....
Jolene. I didn't name her, actually that dumb Dolly Parton song goes off in my head every time I say her name, and I hate that song... it just sticks in your head forever. Just wait you'll be singing it later today... But oh well... Jolene is a stunning black faced petite donkey. We first bred her to Raffie, our spotted jack, - she just happened to be in that pen and well we were just curious of what we would get with two small donkeys. One black faced, and one spot - And that is where Josephine "Josie" came from. A brown adorable tiny girl. The next time we bred Jolene with Black Jack - two black faced donkeys - and that is where we got Pepita... I showed her a couple of weeks ago with Mirta... a tiny all black donkey :0) You just never know what you will get... sometimes just what you think and others something completely different!

Felipe, one of our boys for sale, he was actually saying... "Hello... cool water here... I am melting here!" He loves to drink the cooler water from the hose as I am filling the water bucket. Which I am doing twice a day already... Is it August or May?

Belle was enjoying the "Tire Bed" in the shade - she was asleep just before I snapped and it was a really cute photo. But then Libbie started barking her high pitched piercing bark, and woke her up. Still adorable thought.

I had wanted to get a good photo of all three dogs on the porch, they were SO ready to go into the air conditioning. Pant Pant Pant.....
But just before we went in, they got one last burst of energy and decided to have one last round of fun.

Libbie was saying ..."Uh cut it out, I want to go inside!" Libbie is kind of on edge lately. She is tired, and sleeping a lot. And late this week... she started nesting. Yep... we are getting close to her "due date" My calendar says June 3-10... but last time she was a few days early, so we are keeping a close eye on her, and have her birthing crate already out and ready for her to make ready.

Just Magnolias and Hanglars - Friends!

FRIENDS! Yep what a great theme for this weeks Just Magnolias and Hanglars challenge this week! I went through my stamps and really wasn't sure what I wanted to use for this challenge, and then came across this one! Love it and I thought it was perfect for the them.

I went with an easel card - this is a larger image, so the easel card made it easier to have lots of space to work with. After coloring my image with my Copics, I cut a circle with my EK Success circle cutter, then matted it with pink and cream card stock circles. The same colors are used for my easel card, and this was perfect to use one pattern of the K&Company Watercolor Bouquet papers. Can you Say LOVE THESE PAPERS.. I just adore the soft feel of the floral patterns.

Then for my flowers... went just a bit nuts here... LOL I made up some of these for another project ( can't show yet ) and totally loved them, so I used them for this card as well :0) I punched 6 EK Success Medium Retro Flowers, and then 6 of the Smaller Retro Flower. I rolled the edges of the medium flower petals towards the centers, and then pulled in all the petals of the small flowers, then stacked them up. They are all placed on top of a whole bunch of Martha Stewart branch punches. The centers are all Stickles Cotton Candy pink. Oh the flowers are all punched from from matching pattern paper from the K& Company Watercolor Bouquet stack.
My sentiment is from Close to my Heart's Because of You set. I dug out my CTMH stamps last week, I totally forgot about them, I don't have a lot of them, but a few that have some great card stamps. I punched out these with a EK Success punch colored the edges with a Copic Marker, and then went nuts with lots of adhesive pearls!

Me and My Space - Let's talk Sticky Stuff...

Ok, I thought today on my Me and My Space post I would take this opportunity to talk about sticky stuff... adhesives, glues and tapes - I have used a million different types of these over the years I have been "crafting". Even back to those school type of glue sticks when I first started. But these are some that I now are using and learning how to use.

Day in and Day out I use my ATG gun. This is the second for me. I totally wore out the first. Wheels just gave in and said that is it... no more. Just about the time that Michaels started selling these pretty pink ones and I could use a 40% off coupon! ;0)

But I have started using liquid glues more, and with 3-d projects the double sided tapes.

Glues... I am new at using these liquid glues with my projects, but I have found that for embellishments, flowers and well... things I want to really hold down well, these are great. My first glues are the two on the left, Helmar brand. And I do really like these, but they are very very sticky and thick. I had read about Beacon's 3-n-1 glue. And ran across a bottle at a small scrapbook store, and thought I would try it. And I LOVE it... now I just need to find it somewhere closer to home!
Double sided tapes.... I usually only use these for 3-d projects and heavy things. I believe the red is ProvoCraft? I think that is right, don't have the packaging - sorry but I think that is correct. The white paper looking tape says x-press it - I got it at a craft fair, and I think this may be like ScorePal type of tape. They both work really well... but the red tape does seem to be stronger to me.

So tell me... what do you use? I am always up to try new adhesives, and better adhesives. One that I recently tried and loved, but it was not cheap and very hard to find is Scrap-dots. It is a liquid gel type of glue in a tube and you can work it like liquid pop dots sort of. Really cool...but again hard to find for me. So again... share what you use, I can always use improvements in my sticky situations :0)

For my personal item this week - I step just outside of my craft room, into my bedroom. Sitting on the dresser just by the door to my craft room is three little tins that I found in on an online antique shop. I just adore them...
Yep... Sarah Kay tins! They are "vintage" from the mid 1970's (insert shocked face here) when the heck did the 70's become vintage???? I love these tins, and they make me smile every time I look at them.

A Spoon Full of Sugar - With Wings!

Hello to Tuesday! And for me that is A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge - I find it so funny that my weeks rotate by my blog schedule, LOL I know the days of the week by what my challenge or post is to be that day! HA! Today is Spoon day, and the theme this week is Things with Wings. If it has wings it qualifies!

For me, the very first image I thought of was Stampavie's, Mo Manning - Fairy KiKi - Them are some wings baby!
Kiki is colored with my Copics and then shaded with pencils. And of course those gorgeous wings are coated with Diamond Stickles!

For my card I used Tilda pattern papers, with a cream colored and a hot pink card stock. I sewed the layers together and added a My Favorite Things Doily die cut, a Pink dotted satin ribbon, and lots of mulberry roses. The sentiment is from Oh My Crafts. Love that I just pop them out and stick them down!

This card really came together pretty fast, I love when I don't sit and stare at my card forever. LOL this doesn't happen often that it just works out!

My Hubby's Fishing Scrapbook Page.. too cute

Ok, so that is all the info from the Newsletter - but to expand on that - I totally love the new product from Letraset - this stuff is called Safmat, and it is a Self-Adhesive Film that you can print on. Then use in all kinds of cool ways - It is so clear you could even put it on acrylics and glass! Oh the possibilities! I just need to get a hold of more of it, cuz they were nice enough to share three pages with me, and I need so much more for the plans I see in my crazy little head. LOL I printed the photo of my Hubby and then added the words to the photo with Photoshop. Really gives a clean crisp look to your project.

Then due to what he was wearing, and the age it made me think of the new Stampavie image Fishing Fun -

And you know how much fun I have been having mixing my scrap book pages with my stamping. :0)

Dust It Off Sunday - Papertrey Ink - Friendship Jar and My Favorite Things Just my Type

This is a little dusting off a stamp I haven't used since I purchased it, a long while back, and using a brand new one I was very excited to get this last week.

I first stamped out the Friendship Jar - from Papertrey Ink. I totally adore this set of stamps. And with this set they have had lots of sets to follow that take this jar set to all kinds of season and holidays. The flowers are from another set Friendship Jar Fillers. I then stamped the water with blue ink and then used deminsional glaze over it so the glass jar would look like...well a glass jar :0) I just wish I could have captured this with a photo -
Now you may be saying... wow this is really different for her... That is what I said when I finished it. LOL It was odd.. I just did this in little steps over a couple of days and this is how it came out. And I really like it! So the jar was colored with Copics, and then the glaze. Then for the type writer I stamped with embossing ink, and used fine detail black powder and heated it up. Totally do love this stamp set! It is called "Just my Type" and it is from My Favorite Things. It is so great how you can stamp out the saying, in a old fashioned type writer font, and then add it as if just rolled out. OH and they have a die to cut this one out! :0)

See how cute that sentiment is coming out of the type writer? - I added a satin ribbon to match the Graphic 45 paper. Only used one piece of paper - so much going on this 5x7 card already!

You like? I had lots of fun with it, and I have lots of other goodies to put in my next jar ;0)

Animal Crackers - Building an addition!

I would love to say it is another addition on our much too small house... but nope... more important it is a much needed addition to the goat barn. :0) We have dog houses that some love, but the little barn that Hubby built is their favorite place to be. They needed a shade area. NO walls so the summer breeze can blow through. So we decided to do an addition on the back side of the barn. This gives shade, protection from the rain and even more important... it is low enough to PLAY ON!!!!
They all love the shade and play under it, but some of them, especially the younger ones. :0)

Now I have to tell you about BAD Ted E. Bear!! We came home the other day and he would not let us park where I always park my truck. I took this photo with my phone...Now he thinks this is his Truck - and honestly if I could figure out how to reprimand this guy I would. I know I should lock him into a pen somewhere... all three of the standards. You see they "play" with my truck. The push the mirrors in, if the tail gate is left down they push it up and down, and basically use the edges of my truck to rub all parts of their bodies... I even have a couple of bites out of my nice truck. Yep... Ted took a bite out of the side of the bed the very first week I had purchased my truck a few years ago. Due to their "wear and tear" on my truck, I most likely will stick with this truck until it is worn out - Then I guess we will all have to go to the dealer and pick out a new play toy -

I soooooooo feel for my Macie -

She isn't really close at all to delivering - still has a while to go, and she is already miserable. I keep saying she looks so big cuz her legs are so short, and that she is big boned, retains water, and then I realize those are my reasons for size.. LOL Hope this last month or so is easy on her.. and that she can find some shade and rest up -

She is living in our Buck's, Frankie's pen right now. She likes it in there, she is the queen - and rules the roost you could say. But she does miss all her ladies in her real pen ...

She stands heads taller than all the other youth girls in the pen.. her "mini" friends I call them - but she is totally bonded with them and loves playing with them :0)

Our only baby donkey on the property now.. our Yolanda - she has the same personality that all of Bella's babies have had. Super Obnoxiously Friendly. The neighbor Dr. has totally gone nuts for this girl. Lets see if he can talk Hubby out of her when it is time to wean her.
And I wonder why this boy is always stinky dirty and matted..................
My Autie boy... so darn cute you just can't get mad at him ;0)

Eclectric Paperie and Stampavie BLOG HOP!

Hello AGAIN :0) I have a special 2nd post today for a SUPER Special Blog Hop!

I went to work right away on my Stampavie image from Mo Manning - Mummu's Laundry. Colored with my Copics - and then shaded with a few Prisma Pencils.
Then for my card I went just nuts with a BUNCH of October Afternoon papers!
I totally fell in love with the wording paper for this image, it repeats all kinds of fun saying and statements about remembering the olden days and such, and seemed it was a must. I then went with the quilt feel - Adore that she is hanging a quilt out on the line, so I cut out a bunch of one inch squares then sewed them to the the worded paper in a quilt pattern. I matted it all to a black and white dotted pattern. Bold yes... but I think it works.

A satin ribbon, with a My Favorite Things Border Die cut across the middle. Mulberry roses, with Martha Stewart branch punches. The sentiment.. again just too perfect for this image, is from My favorite Things Just my Type set. OH and for some odd reason I added two Tim Holtz hanger paper clips... don't know why exactly, but they were fun and different!

And don't fall over shocked here. But I did the inside as well :0)
