Let Your Dreams Take Flight

Howdy -

Had some fun again with another House Mouse image this week. Took some inspiration from another Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge -  CC514 - Crisp Marina Point

Fun colors to work with and perfect for the hummingbird in the image.

colored with my Copics (colors below) I found papers that have the same colors as the challenge, and sewed down in the patterns. I added some stickles to the hummingbird.. birds need some bling don't they?

Love that grin on the mouses face... loving his flight don't you think?

Inside more of the same papers -

Copic colors used -

Love playing with these House Mouse images and having fun playing with the inspiration at Splitcoast as well -

Hope you have a blessed great day -

All Cooped Up - House Mouse

Howdy -

Had some time to surf the Splitcoast challenges this week and find some new inspiration for a card. I ran across their Fan Club Theme Challenge and just fell in love with this months Theme!!!

All Cooped  Up - to make a project with a Chicken, Farm type of theme to it. OH NOW that is a Theme that I can work with!  Talk about inspiration! And I knew just what stamp I wanted to use. I have been just itching to use it lately and this was perfect.

House Mouse - Feather Bed

Splitcoast Stampers Fan Club Theme - All Cooped Up CT0115

With the added sketch challenge DDSKETCH0115

Totally adore this image! Now I have to admit if I found three little mice in with my chickens in their coop I don't think I would find it adoring... I think I would scream and then yell for Hubby to make the mice go away.  I love the stamp image though - I colored with my Copics (colors below)

My Pattern papers are all from Graphic 45 - the Cats and Dogs Collection and French Country Collection. I followed the sketch for layout, and sewed down all my papers to black card stock and then a kraft cardstock base. I kept it simple for this one no more embellishments - I just like the papers and the colored image and was happy. And that is not my norm. I love embellishments, but this just felt done and happy to me. Maybe it is just simply that I tried to color the chicken like my girl Elenore :0)

For the inside of the card I used up my scrap papers -

And my Copic colors used -

Was my first time trying one of the Fan Club Monthly Themes... will be looking forward to February's Theme for sure - loved this one!

Off to get some work done now. Getting ready for an Antique Show.... Lots to clean up, price and pack up... so not the fun part of the job, but necessary.

Have a blessed day -

Dust It Off Sunday - House Mouse - Bunny Boo Boo

With dealing with the Sick baby this week.. I decided to make a get well card - And found an adorable House Mouse image... Bunny Boo boo - very very cute image. And perfect for anyone to help them get well.I colored my image with my Copics and high lighted and shaded with my pencils. I then cut the image out and inked the edges.
For my card I wanted to stay simple... focus on the image, and that way I could use it for a guy if needed. Well.. it looks simple and it was, just a bit time consuming. I found three pattern papers from Graphic 45 cut them into strips and wove them and sewed them like a quilt. I inked the edges so they would have some shadows to it. Really happy with how it looks.

Hope you like it too ;0) Have a beautiful Sunday -

Dust It Off Sunday - House Mouse and MEET THE NEW KIDS!

Sunday is my Dust It Off Sunday day, and this week I had a lot of fun with a wonderful House Mouse image, but first I wanted to make sure that you got to meet the new KIDS :0)

Chloe is doing great with her new babies, I am so happy - all three seem to be strong. We got some good face shots so you can meet each of them properly.

First up is the one little boy, first born and the smallest of the three -

Say Hello to "Denim" -
Next born was a little girl, she was the first up and was chasing her Mom around the yard trying to say hello - She is very active and adorable -

This precious face is "Iris" The third born.. while Mom was on the run across the yard is the largest of the three. She too is a little girl, and seems the most calm at this point -

A warm welcome to "Blue Bell" we are calling her "Bell" -
Don't know if you noticed, but they all three have their Mom's ice blue eyes. And that is where we got their names.... all shades of blue!

Ok.. so now to my card, even if I hate to leave these little ones :0)

I really had a lot of fun going through my million House Mouse images. (slight exaggeration) I realized that I hadn't made a card with this gorgeous House Mouse with the single rose - love how sweet this one is.
This image made me think of the saying "Stop and Smell the Roses..." and I knew that was the direction I needed to go with it, LOTS OF ROSES. I used my new K&Company Watercolor Bouquet. I used three different patterns from the pad, and then Bazzil's Sugar Cookie card stock. A real creamy ivory color, one of my favorites. I stacked up the papers, and matted my Copic colored image with the same papers. Everything is sewed together and has a band of deep rose satin ribbon. Three pink Mulberry roses, with MS frond and branch punches. My sentiment is computer generated - and do you love that die cut behind the sentiment or what? That is one of the new Spellbinders Fancy Labels 3 set. Love it!

Then I went on to work on the inside... Yea I know .. don't pass out on me :0)
I finished off the quote from the front with the rest of the saying - " Life is what's happening when you're too busy to notice" by Wayne Muller. Wonderful quote. I used the same papers on the inside as the front.

Love dusting off this image, and found a couple of others I want to use in coming weeks. I get lost sometimes going though my older stamps.. LOL

Hope you have a wonderful Sunday - oh wait... Iris wants to say good bye too....

She really is loud when she says anything... LOL

Have a great day - HUGS and-

Dust It Off Sunday - House Mouse - You are What you Eat!

Happy Sunday- DIOS day and today I have a card that was a lot of fun to put together. This image always cracks me up.. that with the sentiment..

This is one of my very first House Mouse images I think .... my card is all about the cherries. I used a piece of Magnolia paper, matted on white and green. Then a piece of scraps pink and red matted on red on a white card. And all sewed down with a zig zag stitch. And what do you think of my cherries? Pretty good huh. I punched out two circles and then free hand cut the stems and the leaves. All the punches I had of leaves were just too small. So I had to wing it myself. I shaded with my Copics and high lighted with a white gel pen.

The image is colored with my copics and then matted with a scalloped rectangle nestie.

Funny aren't they? As long as they are doing funny things on my cards and not coming in my house that is!
I added Dimensional Glaze to the cherries... they are really shiny.

Seriously it all just cracks me up.. and I think a fun card to send to give a smile to a friend. Hope it made you smile ;0)

Only a couple of days left to enter my Letraset Aqua-Markers Candy... link at top of my side bar.

Have a wonderful Sunday -

Dust It Off Sunday - 10 - House Mouse - Might As Well Dance - Candle

Hello - Did you have a good Christmas? Our family did, but worn out and tired! Was a great couple of days with family though. Today for Dust It Off Sunday  I wanted to show you a Candle I made as a gift. The only handmade gift I made, and I made it weeks ago..

I adore this dancing House Mouse - It is a simple small little stamp that is just perfect for gift tags, cards and other items.
Simple to color with Copics, and then of course add some pink stickles to her tutu :0) I cut out with an oval Nestie, edged it in pink Copic and the matted with a white scallop Nestie. I did two of these...
Then used scrap pattern paper and wrapped it around a vanilla scented candle jar. Edged with a Martha Stewart Embroidered Floral Border punch top and bottom.  Two dancing mice.. and then the sentiment -
The perfect sentiment for the image. This is from Hampton Arts... One of my favorite says - I then added mulberry roses between each oval, Martha Stewart Frond Leaves, and LOTS and LOTS of rhinestone pink blings..... never enough bling!

It made a really cute girlie gift - and I do believe there will be a few more candles made this coming year - (Told you I had more gifts planned and didn't get to them... So I have the candles ready to decorate!)

I do hope you had a wonderful holiday, and me... breakfast with the locals today, then a couple of errands and then home for some quiet time... just Hubby, Me and 2 dogs... 2 puppies... a cat....  ok maybe not so quiet.. but some time for some crafting, and watching movies maybe.

Have a wonderful Sunday  -

Dust It Off Sunday - 8 - House Mouse - Being Girlie?

Hi - today's Dust it Off Sunday is a Special Card. My good Buddy Tracey, had her birthday last weekend. Her Kids planned a Surprise party for her last Sunday - it was really wonderful! And I do believe totally shocked her. Well I knew I had to make a special House Mouse card for her, she loves House Mouse... and this is one of my favorite HM images. Is it because they are being a bit girlie? Or is it that one totally hilarious one mouse? That could be my friend Tracey or Me either one! LOL We do make each other crack up almost on a daily basis!
I spent probably 3 or 4 hours on this one! LOL Lots of layers and lots of products. I stamped the image out twice to start and then cut out the bottom 1/2 from the mice down. I wanted to pop this section to make it really look as if they mice were in front of the mirror. I colored both images with my Copics then cut out with my Fiskars finger tip kraft knife. The mirror I then coated with a couple of layers of dimensional glaze - to make is shiny and have a reflective look.

Can you see it here? I tried about 25 photos to capture that shine, but it was tough! I also added the glaze to the lipstick and the glass jar. Then I pulled out my stickles and made dots of sparkle for the necklace. Really cool look for those.. look at the close up -

They actually have a bead look to them. Then I kept the rest of the card kind of simple. Again these HM images are so large you just can't do much. I used a piece of My Minds Eye Laundry Line paper that reminded me of the wall paper in the image. Matted it and sewed - I used a Martha Stewart border punch across the top and bottom of the image, matted the image and sewed it down. I found some adhesive pearls and pink rhinestones to embellish the side spaces.

I copied the front for the inside, and then created a computer generated sentiment - The make sure to pamper yourself went well for us... :0)

I think she liked it - I really enjoyed spending some time and really adding a lot to this card. Should do this on all my cards, instead of always being in a hurry. Do you ever get that way?

Well off to Sunday breakfast - then home to clean up my mess. For some odd reason I started cleaning some of the drawers and the top of my desk last night... made a much bigger mess than I started with in the first place! LOL

Dust It Off Sunday - 7 - House Mouse, Cup of Cocoa

Well one chilly night I was looking at my wall of stamps to decided what stamp I wanted to use this week for my Dust It Off Sunday - and well.. the warm Cocoa on this House Mouse Stamp seemed just so yummy!

I colored with my Copics, then sewed onto a scalloped Nestie mat - Just love these little mice, not the real ones that try and come in during the winter!!! One hazzard of living in the country are mice! I don't like Mice!!! Except for ones I can color that is :0)

For my card I started with the dark brown card stock (same I used for the scalloped mat on the image) The pattern papers are from a DCWV "At Home" paper stack. Love the warm feeling of these papers, oh and that some have a glitter to them, those dots are sparkles!

I sewed mats on each piece and put the front all together. Three brown buttons tied with twine were all the embellishments it needed. House Mouse images do tend to be larger - so not a lot of room for extras.

Then I just had to move the sentiment to the inside - not enough room on the front :0) But I do enjoy  doing the insides from time to time :0)
The inside is pretty much the same as the front - all the same papers and mats all sewed. I just love the matching sentiment that goes with the image. Fun and perfect for lots of cards.

Hope you liked my Dust It Off card this week - what have you dusted off? I am having so much fun using some of my older stamps! They need love and ink to you know!

Dust It Off Sunday - House Mouse "Feather Bed"

I had so much fun last week making my friend the House Mouse card, and enjoyed using a stamp that hasn't had any love or ink in like... forever that I am going to challenge myself to use one older stamp a week! I am not too sure about my title... but I am thinking that the best way to push myself into using these 4million 382,000 stamps I have is setting a day and giving it a title. Encouragement, and will give me a routine, kind of like Animal Crackers Day... So I am thinking "Dust It Off Sundays" --- cuz seriously I have had to dust off these stamps... doesn't say too much about my own house cleaning LOL... Always have hated dusting.

So you will be seeing my old House Mouse, Hanglar, Alota, High Hopes and lots and lots and lots of other images on Sundays - Also I am going to try and use my older stash stuff - really need to use up the mile high pile of papers I have too :0)
Here is the image for today - I love this one :0) It is called "Feather Bed". Great Country feel - adore that chicken. I colored with my Copics and then sewed the edges.
Digging deep into the stash of older paper I found some wonderful country feeling papers to work with the chickie. This is a collection of papers, I know I bought them as a small stack, and I adored them, but I can't find a name anywhere on them now. There is no cover, and there is no names printed on the backside of any of them. I think it had a name something like French Country... or something like that. Anyway they are just wonderful, worn, country looking papers. The blue actually is a barn wood photo, and I have always been drawn to newspaper prints. Everything is sewn together on a light beige card stock and a chocolate mat. The Sentiment is from Hero Arts, and punched out with a Stampin Up Tag punch. I cross - stitched the tag onto the front of the card with twine... hmmm was a good idea that just doesn't show like I thought it would. And Lovin' those buttons!! I found them in an antique shop a while back. They are ancient pearl like buttons, dirty and flaking. I added twine to them as well.

Hope you like my idea - if you want to join me I would love to see what you dust off -leave a comment so I can come and visit :0)

I have something else in the works for Wednesdays... :0)
HUGS and have a wonderful Sunday!

Some fun with Mice!

Now I wish I could tell you it is just fun with the House Mouse I used on my card for today... but no... yesterday was an insane day with a tiny little mouse!!! A REAL LIVE ONE! Gato found it, yea! She did her "job" for the first time, but you see, she didn't want to kill it. She wanted to carry it around, play a little with it and generally just keep it. UH NO... that won't work. At some point she dropped it and Autie got a hold of it! Then it was a chase around my house the mouse, Autie and Gato. Totally stressful, and frustrating - finally I got Autie outside, with the mouse, and then said that word.. "Cookie?" He dropped the mouse outside, and looked up at me, giving the mouse just enough time to run off into the weeds.  Now it was live catch and release program and I would love to let you think how kind I am to all living creatures... but NO I wanted that little thing killed and no chance that it was coming back into my house!!! But I will settle and tell myself that it is outside, and gone....

Now for some Mice that I do like... whew...

I have a ton of House Mouse stamps, adore them. But honestly haven't inked them up in forever, they just sit on their shelves decorating my room. But I needed a fun "MAN" card, a friend that loves Coffee as much as Hubby does. And I have to tell you I really enjoyed inking this one up and coloring it. Need to challenge myself to use at least one old stamp a week to give some of the million stamps I have some love.

So here is my card -
I wanted it to stay simple, and focus on the large image. That has always been the biggest struggle for me and some of these HM images, they are large.  My base is a cream colored card stock, layered with a darker chocolate or coffee colored brown. I then used scraps of Basic Grey papers - With the same color as the base, I punched two EK Success small scallop borders, and then sewed everything down. Simple - but for a man I think just enough.
The image is colored with my Copics and high lighted with white gel pen. I just love the looks on their faces... LOVIN' their coffee beans!
For the inside I used more scraps.. but they were getting really small... and a computer generated sentiment.

Taking this card to our Sunday Breakfast with the locals... hope he gets a kick out of it. It was a hoot to make this one!

Have a great Sunday - I'll be back tomorrow with the Stampavie Challenge -

Just Magnolia Monthly Challenge and A Spoon Full of Sugar meets Summer!

Hi all - don't you just love scheduling your post ahead? Yea.. working to get it done ahead so you don't have to worry about it being posted late. Then you come to check it later and it isn't there! Yep happened to me 4 times in a row now... sorry - but here it is now :0) -

It is a Distressing Just Magnolia Inspirational Challenge! And to keep things organized and easier to find we have separate challenge blogs for the regular weekly challenge, one for our Monthly challenge and one for our tutorial/inspirational challenge - And prizes on all!! Today kicks off our Tutorial/Inspirational Challenge with a Distressing Challenge - Distress a Magnolia card in any way - tearing, inking, chalking whatever you like! We just want to see some sort of Distressing technique on your card - This challenge blog is sponsored by 7 Kids College fund - Thanks!!!

For mine my new Pet collection came and as soon as I saw it I knew what I wanted to do - I wanted to make a safari card - sort of like a vacation photo shoot card!

I started with the monkey and the auto stamps from Magnolia - and then added the Alota Rubberstamps Camera frame!! I stamped out the camera and colored with my Copics - then stamped the two Magnolia images and colored the same - The lens of the camera was cut out and the monkey cut to fit inside - I just LOVE this stamp! I then cut the camera out as well so it would look more "real". Core'dinations paper is my base that I sanded heavily. The pattern paper is a map - from K&Company Cut-n-Paste collection, as well as the vintage postcard Greeting sentiment. I added some twine, flowers and buttons -

I hope you will take a minute and take a look at all the Distressing Cards on our new Challenge Blog! JUST MAGNOLIA TUTORIAL CHALLENGE

*******************************************

Now A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge! And it is HOT! yes this week we are taking on the Summer! And with the average temperature here this week being 102-104 degrees... I feel like these House Mouse guys have the right idea!

I colored this with my Copics and I soooo wish you could see it in person as the ice has dimensional glaze on them and they look so cool.. no pun intended! LOL
My card is pink and green Bazzil Bling card stock with I believe Making Memories papers.. they were scraps so I didn't have the name - but I just love them whoever they are. I sewed down everything and added some of my very favorite dark pink satin ribbon - I so hope this roll never runs out! I stacked some Prima flowers with mini brad and jewelry spacer. The sentiment is from Cloud 9 and is an epoxy sticker on card stock. I love the wording "This is Paradise" seems perfect for these mice on ice!!

I do hope you take a moment to see all of the hot cards on A Spoon Full of Sugar - they really are smoking good this week - HA.. just full of puns today aren't I???

Have a great Tuesday!!
