Had some fun again with another House Mouse image this week. Took some inspiration from another Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge -  CC514 - Crisp Marina Point

Fun colors to work with and perfect for the hummingbird in the image.

colored with my Copics (colors below) I found papers that have the same colors as the challenge, and sewed down in the patterns. I added some stickles to the hummingbird.. birds need some bling don't they?

All Cooped Up - House Mouse

Howdy -

Had some time to surf the Splitcoast challenges this week and find some new inspiration for a card. I ran across their Fan Club Theme Challenge and just fell in love with this months Theme!!!

All Cooped  Up - to make a project with a Chicken, Farm type of theme to it. OH NOW that is a Theme that I can work with!  Talk about inspiration! And I knew just what stamp I wanted to use. I have been just itching to use it lately and this was perfect.

Totally adore this image! Now I have to admit if I found three little mice in with my chickens in their coop I don't think I would find it adoring... I think I would scream and then yell for Hubby to make the mice go away.  I love the stamp image though - I colored with my Copics (colors below) 

My Pattern papers are all from Graphic 45 - the Cats and Dogs Collection and French Country Collection. I followed the sketch for layout, and sewed down all my papers to black card stock and then a kraft cardstock base. I kept it simple for this one no more embellishments - I just like the papers and the colored image and was happy. And that is not my norm. I love embellishments, but this just felt done and happy to me. Maybe it is just simply that I tried to color the chicken like my girl Elenore :0)

Was my first time trying one of the Fan Club Monthly Themes... will be looking forward to February's Theme for sure - loved this one!

Off to get some work done now. Getting ready for an Antique Show.... Lots to clean up, price and pack up... so not the fun part of the job, but necessary.

Magnolia's Ella the Donkey

Howdy -

Being that Hubby and I have had a quiet Holiday at home, and the weather has been cold and rainy a few days I have had lots of fun in my craft room actually having fun going through all my stamps of way back. Finding that there are quite a few that have never seen ink! The shame! This is one I HAD to have - and now that I have used it finally I am sure you will see it more often. And I am also sure you will see why I HAD to have it....

Love this Magolia image - Ella the Donkey  - Not sure if my kids would let me embellishment like this. Probably would do a roll in the mud to get it all off. LOL - I colored with my Copics (colors below)


Then I went for some inspiration for my card - I have been surfing a lot on the net at new sites, old favorites I haven't been to in a long time. Splitcoast was always a favorite and I found a challenge there in the inspiration category that I really liked - IC473 The Perfect Palette - loved the color challenge and the red, black and white inspiration.

Sewed things down - added some buttons and then the sentiment from Alota Rubber Stamps "Happy Birthday"

The pattern paper is from Prima Marketing  - loved the fun saying - Used it on the inside as well.

Magical Meg with Candy Corm! MMMM

While surfing through Splitcoast Stampers the other day I found a challenge with Score-Pal for their September Challege. "Out of the Box" to create a box with your Score-Pal... I needed some fun and relaxing the other night, and had been just dying to color Stampavie's Magical Meg. The two together were a lot of fun!

I first went through my Halloween papers to find something to make my box out of. I used DCWV Glitter Halloween paper, love the sparkly candy. My box is sort of made from a few different boxes/bags that I found online. The sizes were all not right for Meg.... or not right to fill with the candy. 

 Now you can see that this has a box bottom on it with a fold over top. A piece of Velcro to hold the flap down. I cut the hole in the front before attaching everything and put a piece of acetate as a window. I then cut out a scalloped circle for around the edge from orange card stock. I am always so worried about cutting the scallops and then the circle .... what if I don't center it right? LOL But this worked out ok this time and I didn't have to cut a second.

 For my candy I wanted to use Candy Corn - but being on a diet, don't have that sitting around the house. :0) So while out running around the other day, Hubby went in to the Ice House and got a small bag for my photo shoot. The bag was a bit small and didn't quite fill my project. But I think it was ok. The funny thing was we hadn't been home 30-45 minutes when he was following me around... "you going to take the photos of your candy corn soon?"   LOL So stopped everything I was doing and took my photos. 10 seconds later he was into the bag and all the candy corn was safe from me. Wasn't it nice of him to protect me and my diet like that? HA!

Meg now...

 Isn't she just gorgeous!!! A new Stampavie release by Penny Johnson, I think she is just too pretty. This is my kind of Halloween image :0) I colored her with Letraset ProMarkers: Ivory, Oatmeal, Pear Green, Marsh Green, Warm Grey 3 & 5, Lavender, Bluebell, Poppy, Blush and Caramel. Then I covered her dress and hat with Diamond Stickles. She is all sparkly!

I then cut her out and put her on the front of the box... note she is pointing to that now gone Candy Corn.

Was really fun, to make. I enjoyed doing a 3-D project, using my Score-pal and making a fun Halloween box.

Spoon Full of Sugar - Summertime!

I guess it is official - Summer is here. Kids are all out of school now, and the hot weather has gotten a bit hotter. Good time for the Spoon Full of Sugar Summertime theme then. To use Summer Colors or images on your cards - Me I went with colors... and one of the newer Stampavie Tina Wenke images... "Leanne and Hedgie"
I colored with my Copics and then shaded with Prisma Pencils. Totally adorable image!! I cut it out with Nesties Label 11 - And then drew in the matting with a Copic.

For my card I went with trying my hand at an twisted easel card... ok.. not so sure I pulled it off. LOL It really is easy - well from the instructions it sounded easy. Fold the top of your card diagonally in towards the inside of the card, then it can be folded in and stand up - But I think I stood mine up to much, cuz it isn't looking twisted to me ... just odd. Well I'll try again soon and see if I can do it right. My pattern paper is from DCWV Whimsy stack. Love the embossed glitter of the paper.
Here is my card standing... see... standing just a bit much huh? LOL I added buttons all round the card. I wanted to add flowers, but I really thought this card needed to stay more simple and not cover all the flourishing of the papers.

Hanglar "Thinking of You"

Well Happy Monday - Wow what a weekend - I had no new card to show today - I was so tired and sore from the all of the fire activities on Saturday, I just did not have any energy to make a card yesterday for today. Thankfully I have one I made a week or two ago using one of the Splitcoast Stampers Sketches, that I had not had a chance to show yet.

This is one of my Hanglar images sent to me by a very sweet friend. I have colored her with my Copics, and then sewed her to a mat with a blanket stitch. Then she and the bear are high lighted with white gel pen.

The card layout is Sketch 213, from Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenges. I turned it on its side. All of the papers are from My Minds Eye Laundry Line.. I think it has been a couple of weeks. But I am pretty sure. I followed the sketch and cut the pieces to match, each piece is placed onto a piece of cardstock to mat and sew down. The sentiment is punched out with Stampin Up Word Window punch, and a larger piece punched as a mat. The flower is a punch from EK Success Retro Flower from the same paper collection. I love that all the pieces have a glitter to them. A small pearl button for the center of the flower. It is a great layout don't you think? If you ever loose your mojo... check out the sketch challenge there - it really helps!

So today I am going to catch up on some cards - I had so many great crafting plans for this weekend, and I didn't get to do any of it, so today I think I am going to take a play day. As soon as I start some laundry and pay a few bills.. HA! Play day!

Please excuse my dust....

My blog is work in progress this week... sorry. I decided it was time for something a bit different, and had some problems with a few things. And of course I won't be home most of today or tomorrow so I will be working on it a few minutes here and there until it is all fixed.

I will admit... I am a little sad Valentines Day is over... I was having fun with all my new LOVE images - you may still see one here and there ;0

But here comes EASTER! And watch out people Helene at Alota Rubber Stamps has a whole bunch of really adorable image!! REALLY GO SEE... HERE this will take you to all of the new images this month... lots of bunnies, chicks and such.

Then also she has a new set that you really will want - A Furniture Set - perfect for all of your character images. How cute are they? You can have a chance to win this set at Paper Craft Planet - the Alota Rubber Stamp group has an Inspiration Challenge and the prize is this very set of stamps!

Now to my Easter Card - This bunny is probably suppose to be a cute fluffy bunny - but I was craving chocolate, and so this guy is a solid chocolate bunny! Not one of those cheap hollow ones! Solid mmmm.

I colored him and the egg with my Copics, funny thing here - I colored the egg and the ribbon and held it up so show Hubby and we both at the same time laughed, it looked like a lemon wrapped in a bow - so I went back and "dyed" some zig zag stripes on it. White gel pen is used to dot and high light both the egg and the bunny, then Diamond Stickles is put on both of the bows for some much needed bling.

My papers - well the pattern paper has no name on it, don't even have a clue where I got it. I then picked three shades of card stock to match and sewed down - the layout is from Splitcoast Stampers sketch challenge SC214 .. my very first time I have done one of their sketch challenges.

I was stumped on what to use for a sentiment.

Nothing seemed to be the right size or shape. I finally used my "Slice" and cut the word Easter , hand wrote the word Happy and then stickled the letters - I like how it turned out.

Today is Donkey Day at the Rodeo - I love Donkey Day - we don't show any of our Donkeys, but I just love to go and watch. Especially the fun stuff like the courses and stuff. Hubby loves to watch the big donkey, mules and mammoth sizes. He would love to have some of those! Better get dressed, with a few layers it is chilly here! And get going so we don't miss much - I'll be back later to comment on some blogs and hopefully work on my mess -

Meet Annabella -

Wanted to introduce you to another mini donkey - This is Annabella, she is one of our youngest girls. When you approach this particular pen she is the first to the gate, and has her head through to reach out to you and get the first pet before anyone else. Oh and don't turn with out taking a few steps.... she'll grab what ever you are wearing to make sure you don't leave her! She is just too funny.

Today's card is one I made for a Splitcoast Stampers Challenge. This challenge is for the My Favorite Things Stamps weekly sketch. I used their Punny Farm Stamp set for those cute cows! This was my first attempt at masking. I stamped one cow on a scrap piece of paper and cut it out. Then stamped the cow on my heavy white card stock. With removable tape I placed the scrap cow over the "good" cow. Then stamped the two cows behind. I also used the scrap cow when stamping my grass in two different colors of green. I am happy with how it turned out and think I will have to try more masking in the future!

Wide Loads...

I thought y'all might enjoy seeing two of my soon to be mommas. This is Cheyenne and Macey they are both due soon. Macey sooner, on the left, I think she is within weeks! They get so wide at the end. And to answer before you ask, they are pregnant between 11-12 1/2 months. Yep a year! (Insert loud groan here) It takes a while to get these cute little ones, but they are so worth the wait. The extra ears in the background is Black Jack the "daddy" to be. Oh and this photo is a little over a week old... they are even wider this morning!

I am just having so much fun with these stamps! These character stamps from Rubbernecker Stamps are a scream! This card is perfect for so many people... wonder who will get this one.

I colored this party animal in with my copic markers and layered her on Studio K's dots, I also used my cuttlebug and the Happy birthday Embossing folder lightly inked. The saying "Happy Birthday You Party Animal You" is pop dotted off the card. I then added buttons, I think I was going for a confetti effect. The color combination is odd - took it from the patterned paper. Don't know if it works or not but I am sure those green pants are polyester!

My second card today is for the My Favorite Things

Stamps weekly challenge on Splitcoast Stampers. I just love the My Favorite Things brand of stamps. Craig thinks they are hysterical because there there is never a head or face.

I wanted to go more country on this one, I made the lace border with my Fiskars Border Punch, and used Daisy D's Blue Gingham for the "ribbon" and to paper piece her shirt. I used my Copic Markers to color her and the chickens, my prisma pencils to lightly give a blue sky in the back ground and glaze pens to "feed" the chickens.

I probably need to explain the hot pink rubber boots. My MIL (mother-in-law) moved to our country property, we told her she needed boots to be out at the barn, she wasn't happy as they are ugly. For Christmas my Mom got her a hot pink pair and she just loves them. I think she would wear them "out" if we would let her.

Well off to start my day, got an email from a friend last night reminding me of her birthday on Sunday... need a special card for that! he he he
