Just Magnolias - A FABULOUS SKETCH by BEV!

HI and Happy Friday - that means Just Magnolias day! Today's challenge is a fun sketch by DT member Bev! I just love her sketches!

I again wanted to play with my new Fall Stamp Club kit and pulled out this adorable little Tilda with her bowl full of berries.

She is colored with copics, then high lighted with white gel pen. I then doodled around the edge for some fun.

For some reason lately I have been into these bold simple cards - especially when it comes to red and white. I just like the way to they pop when the are simple bold colors.
I also had a piece of green and white gingham paper on my desk from another project... (it will be shown soon ... giggle giggle.. ) I loved how the green checked seemed to match perfect with the country feel, the berries, and the red and white. For the scalloped bottom I went to my EK Success large scallop punch, and then did a second for the top of the band - kind of like around her basket I thought. The red dotted paper is from Papertrey Ink, as is the red card stock - love how their stuff is made to work together - the less I have to think the better! LOL

I added some white satin ribbon, and the sentiment from Stampin Up. And then just cuz I thought it need just a bit more, I doodled the edge of the red card stock with my white gel pen :0)

I loved working with Bev's sketch this week, and just wait until you see the rest of the DT's work with it! WOWSER! Really gorgeous cards! And don't forget their is a prize every week!

Well - as usual I am on the run again today - MIL wants to go to a local Quilting show. Hopefully we will make it as she has been a bit under the weather... so hopefully she is ready and feeling better to go. And then I am so excited that tomorrow is the CKC Scrapbooking Convention, me and a few buddies are taking a road trip and going to see what is there to see... SHOPPING! Oh and then Lunch :0) ... What do you have planned this weekend? Something fun?

Ready for Santa?

Ho Ho Ho... I know panic attack! But seriously it is coming quick and time to get those Christmas cards going. And the new Stampavie Sarah Kay Noel collection is PERFECT for your Christmas cards this year. Not that I need to introduce you... but this image is "Santa" LOL! How wonderful is he, Sarah Kay really did capture the wonderful vintage Santa with this one.

For my card I used some new papers from JoAnn's Debbie Mum holiday collection. Again it is hard to see in the photo but all of the candies are glittered. Yummy. I used an EK Success Border punch for the edges of the paper, and then picked a matching pattern for the background. I gel pen stitched the edges. I went through all of my sentiments... and then remembered this ribbon I got last year - I like how it looks.
This is a more simple card - and flat with no other embellishments. I started to add other things, and then I got to thinking.. that for making a bunch of Christmas cards and for mailing a bunch of Christmas cards - sometimes flat and just a bit simpler is better.

So do you have your Stampavie Sarah Kay Noel images yet? Have you seen them? I would love to see yours if you are using them for your Christmas cards!

My "lunch" yesterday was fun, and great to see everyone.. but then Hubby needed me to run some errands with him - so my few hours away - turned into all day! AAHHH so today is double duty day - lots to accomplish. And I must get everything done in the next couple of days! So I can play this weekend and the CKU Scrapbook convention.. LOL wink wink!

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Fall into Autumn!

HI! Tuesday so its A Spoon Full of Sugar Challege time! This week the challenge is to Fall into Autumn! Well I for one and more than ready for the weather to change and things cool off!

And this week there is a GREAT prize from Michelle from the pixie cottage CUTE stuff!

For my card it was a great time to pull of some of my ALOTA images. Both of these sweet little kids and the sentiment are from sets called Autumn Wishes and Happy Fall. There are LOTS of fun fall stamps on these sets.

I colored with my Copics. And then I used Rubber Stamp Tapestry grass and leaves for their "ground". Then for my card I started the base with a dark green piece of Bazill Dotted Swiss. Then how about the pattern paper. Perfect for my card, but I couldn't find a name on it. One of those clearance papers from Hobby Lobby... love it anyway. I then created a band with the dotted swiss and the Martha Stewart Loop border. My leaves are from scrap card stock and my Making Memories Slice. I inked the edge of all of them. I was really happy how this one came out.. and perfect for the Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge Fall into Autumn! I hope you will click over and play with us, and see all the wonderful DT Fall cards!

Today I am heading over to a near by town we use to live in to have lunch with some old friends. This group meets once a month... I use to go each month, and for the last oh.. I don't know.. 5 or 6 months I have missed it. Life... so I am looking forward to it. Hope you have a wonderful Tuesday yourself... and enjoy the day!

Teddy Get Well Soon....

Is this a sweet image or what? Perfect for a get well card...

I loved coloring this one, it is so cozy and country feeling. I like that. Used my Copics of course.

I then used papers from K&Company's Gypsy baby collection, love these soft worn patterns. I created a band across the middle with the stripes and then used my Fiskar's Apron Lace border punch and white card stock. I sewed with a pretty blue thread.. I am getting a little bit better and random stitching.. LOL Wonder why that is so hard for me?

Then I found a sentiment that seemed just perfect. It is from Lockhart Stamps - which I just love! Then I added a sheer ribbon knotted, and three of my mulberry roses. I have an old friend of the family that was hurt in a fall.. I think I may send this to him. Kind of girly, but I still like it.

Oh my look at the time... my darling Hubby let me sleep in again today! I think he feels guilty I have been doing all the night feedings with Sergio... so he lets me sleep in.. and it is so dark in here now that he is putting the addition on... well... I just sleep!!! LOL I have needed it, but today I have way to much to do!

Hope you have a wonderful Monday! Me... I am on the run now!

A Great Donkey Day!!!

Yes it is a wonderful, great Donkey Day!

Not many good Donkey photographs... as just as I got out and started taking photos.. it started pouring rain!! And that is just fine with me!

Here you can see the youth pen.. the pen with all of my 1-2 year old donkeys... they really have the best barn of all the pens - and when it rains they are all inside and watch the rain from a dry place. It may be hard to see in the photo... but that is really hard rain falling!!

This is my other wonderful blessing this week. Felicia - she is doing much much better and we actually put her and her Mom Macey back into the pen with their friends. I really don't want to even think about how close we came to loosing this precious little girl. She was one really sick donkey. She is not 100%... still just a bit weak, but eating well and actually trying to play with her brothers just a bit. Now the only scary thing is waiting for the vet bill! LOL

Sergio was really happy to have her back. After loosing his Mom, Cheyenne - Felicia was his buddy. They slept together and were always side by side. When we had to take her out of the pen when she got so sick, Sergio really was sad and missed her. But now he has her back and is keeping a close eye on her.

Thought you might want to see the other "babies" Cali is getting so big.. She is my little accident girl. She is always scraped and has boo boo's on her. She plays really hard.. Just like her Mom Lacey.
Mirta... my tiny little spot girl. Poor thing she is going through her scraggly fur days... I need to get in there and really brush her out this weekend. Her and Cali really do play hard and love each other - they run so fast and Mirta being the smaller one, can out corner Cali every time - they are so funny to watch. Now that it looks like all the stress of sick donkeys is behind us, I need to pull out the video camera this week and capture some donkey races!

One more photo... couldn't leave out Carlos. He is so gorgeous and healthy not a worry with him! Growing like a weed, him and his brother Sergio has really learned how to play... and just like two boys they play really rough! I just hope that Felicia can stand up to these two boys and hold her own! But as any girl.. I am sure she will figure out how to control the guys!

No Libbie photo.. the rain just was too bad.. to get her out and get any photos. OH I need to see about videoing her running too... she is too funny with those little legs running across the yard. I just have to wait until it isn't so muddy... she would really be a mess then!

Hope you have a wonderful Saturday... me there is more rain predicted again today... gonna watch it out the window and enjoy each drop!

Just Magnolias - Embossing!

Hi and Happy Friday!!! Yes it is a very Happy Friday... Felicia is doing much better and we got just over 2 INCHES of rain yesterday!!! And more rain predicted for today!

It is so dark outside with the clouds I over slept...even little Libbie over slept and she is my emergency alarm clock! When the sun comes up everyone in the house should be out of bed and ready to go!

Well would you like to see a card? Today is Just Magnolias Day. And today's challenge is Embossing! And when I "plan" to emboss on my cards I work everything on the card to match my Core'dinations card stock, today it was the chocolate box and pink card stock. I just love how once I run it through my Cuttlebug that pink shows through the brown... a little bit of sanding and wow... I just love it!

For my image I used one of the new Tildas in the Fall Stamp Club. I just love how girly she is, with her legs crossed, hair all up and curled, and that pearl necklace and bracelet. I colored with my Copics and then cut out.
For the card base I again started with a white card stock, then used the left over piece of pattern paper from my box yesterday. Love using scraps! I then placed my Core'dinations paisley embossed card stock on a piece of white card stock. I wrapped brown card stock with a pink and brown dot ribbon, with a punched border from EK Success. Tilda had to have something to sit on you know! LOL

I added three Mulberry roses, and then the sentiment "Hello" from Hero Arts... I think it is a perfect "girl friend" card just to say hi.

Please visit the Just Magnolia Challenge site to see all of the DT embossing cards... WOW just wonderful! And the fabulous prize this week is two sets of your choice from the amazing selection at The Cutting Cafe.

Hope you have a wonderful Friday... and that you have a wonderful weekend planned! Me.. hopefully enjoying more rain and loving on lots of donkeys! I'll be back tomorrow for Donkey/Libbie day! HUGS!

Chocolate and Roses and another new image!!

What could be better?? Teddy Chocolate and Roses is the name of the image from Stampavie and artist Helz Cuppleditch - I am really just loving the artist and all the images being releases from Stampavie - and this is one that is really just a wonderful image for so many topics.

For me.. I needed a little box to put a little something special in as a "gift" .. and Teddy and his candy was perfect. Colored with my Copics then cut out with my Nesties and doodled the edges. I also added two Mulberry Roses - one of my new passions.. lovin them!

The box base is white card stock, with a ribbon band around the base. The top is a pretty pink/white dot pattern from October Afternoon, hard to see in the photo, but I used my EK Success scallop border punch around the edge. Buttons on each side - for some added fun.

Now I just hope that my little present will fit.. LOL .. if not, I guess I have a box for another gift right? I had fun making it and it was something different to play with!

Man was it the Monday holiday that has totally messed up my week? I am off a day.. can't believe it is already Thursday!! I need another "holiday" to catch up.. LOL

Hope you have a wonderful day... me.... Hubby is fishing today, so I hope to get caught up on lots of little things around the house and get hopefully a little time to blog hop.. I feel like it has been forever since I had time to surf!!
