Hello and Happy Friday! Whew this week has pretty much been a blur! Hubby went fishing the first part of the week. And honestly time stands still when he is gone. Ok.. lets all together now..AWWWW. :0) Seriously - I don't do things well when he is gone, the house is just too empty and well, I get detracted easily. You know chick flicks- computer- new puppies... and so on. When he got back I realized that 1/2 the week was over and well I have a ton to do still. So double time!
Now it is time for Just Magnolias Challenge and it is a fabulous sketch this week. I will admit, I am not the best as diagonal parts to a sketch, but I like how this one came together, and I love the sketch - will go into my sketch folder for sure!
I have really gotten into digging into my stash lately - trying to use up products that I have had forever. And this card really is a deep stash card.
The card base is from my scraps box, a deep olive green color. Perfect match for the Basic Grey Periphery Pattern papers that were in my stash. I love these papers, and totally forgot about having them. The colors were great with my elephant image too. I sewed them down with a dark green thread with a random stitch. I then added three dark green adhesive rhinestones for the three dots at the corner of the sketch. Then well.... I went a bit nuts with the flowers. Why is it I have so many problems making flowers look nice on cards? Too many here.. not enough on others, too bunched, too spread out... sigh... OH well the colors look good :0) My sentiment is from JustRite stamps, and punched out with a Fiskars Circle Squeeze punch. For some reason, the elephant just looked like he was missing someone to me.
I hope you like my card - and now please visit the Just Magnolia Challenge site to see some really fabulous DT cards with the sketch.
Be back tomorrow with Animal Crackers :0) Been working with some really chunky little puppies for some photo shoots with their eyes open ---- Oh they are really growing fast and just too adorable for words!
