Just Magnolia's with a fun sketch!

Friday again, and time for Just Magnolias, this week we have a wonderful sketch! And that was perfect for me this week..... no thinking, just follow the sketch - great timing!

I have really been trying to dig into my Magnolia box and pull out stamps that haven't been inked in a long time, this week I found one that had never been inked!! How sad is that! Tilda has been colored with my Copics and then cut out just her legs and feet with my Fiskars Fingertip Kraft Knife. (Do you have one? I love mine! I think it is one of my favorite top three tools!) I then cut the top like a window and used a corner rounder - doodled the edges and inked.

Now for my card I decided to go with fall leaves and colors for this Tilda and that was perfect as I had just come home from Micheal's and got the Making Memories 12x12 Autumn paper pack! LOL now the cool thing is I looked at this collection a couple of weeks back.. set it down and said... no be good, you don't need this. Was very proud of myself. Now why did I come home with it this trip? Well Hello... it was on sale for 75% off... I paid $2.79 for the entire collection! Bravo huh! I also picked up a few of the little embellishments from the Vintage collection as they were on sale too. Anyway perfect timing for my card.

The base and mat for my card is a new card stock for me... Martha Stewart card stock pack. Hey I had my 50% off coupon and nothing else I "needed" so I got this huge pack of card stock with some really pretty colors. Now it is a lot different from Bazzil card stock. Smooth, but I think I like it, and the colors went really well with the Making Memories Autumn papers.

Two different ribbons for the band across the middle, mulberry roses and Martha branch punches for my embellishments. The sentiment is from Hero Arts and is punched out with a Stampin up tab punch.

Went together really quick and the sketch was a fun one to work with. I really when I started this card, had a plan to use these really cool skeleton leaves I have in my stash... but well so much is still in boxes, after nearly 45 minutes of digging I gave up. What do you bet I find them on top of a box this weekend now that the card is finished! LOL!

I do hope you will visit the Just Magnolia Challenge, the prizes are amazing and well the DT's cards are always so inspiring!

Off to start putting away craft stuff... :0)  Tomorrow is Donkey/Libbie Day ... then I hope to show off some photos of the craft room on Sunday!! That is my goal anyway! Have a wonderful weekend!

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #6 - A Sketch!

It is Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge Day! Challenge number 6, and today's a wonderful sketch! Now my card... well you may need shades for this one, I don't know what I was thinking but man it ended up really really bright! LOL

This image is Rae with Journal I think she is a wonderful teen girl image. She is part of the Dani and Friends Digital set and end of this month she is one of the new STAMPS being released from Stampavie from Mo Manning's collection. I am very excited about these new stamps!! Make sure you favorite store has them pre-ordered cuz they are gonna go fast!

For the card - I started with a Bazzil Bling card stock, and then because I had colored Rae with such bright Copics, I had to find some papers that matched her "style" and Basic Grey's June Bug collection, just seemed to work out as long as you have your sun glasses on! For a couple of the mats I used some bright pink card stock, and I sewed everything down with pink thread. The vine at the bottom is from Doodle bug and then a large pink Prima flower adorns the top. It is hard to see in the photograph, but I added some sparkle to it with Spica Glitter pens - looks really cool in person, hate that things like that don't photo well.

I do hope you will join in this week for the challenge! Now pop over and see all the other DT's wonderful cards with the sketch! HERE is the link...  And guess what.. I just found out that the prize this week is going to be special.. you tell what you would like Mo to draw and then YOU get to name it!! How cool is that!

Have a wonderful day... me... working around the house, and in my craft room :0)

What a bad cold!

Hi - I found this card in my stash, one of the last that is a "spare" for emergencies - We all know my life the last few weeks... I have pretty much used up all my cards now! LOL! Anyway - this is one of the last - and man is it fitting for me the last week! I finally am getting over this cold, but there for a while I went from room to room with that box of tissues! And this is EXACTLY how I looked and felt! But I think I am all better now.. I actually have left the box of tissues in the other room of the house and I am not panicking about it! LOL

This is one's of Mo's images - from Mo's Digital Pencil, and is called Swine Flu how funny is this "little piggie"

It has been so long ago that I made this one... I don't know many of the details. The papers are I believe from DCWV, but not for sure. The brads are Doodlebug Sugared Brads.

Sorry for the lack of details - Now I have to go and get dressed, today is MIL Shopping Day, it has been a few weeks since I have taken her for her errands. She was sick, helping with the room addition, then I was sick, but things are starting to level out and look better around here and I promised to take her today.... before I found out it is a holiday. OH MAN it is going to be soooo crowded! I tried to postpone her until tomorrow, but nope... she wants to go today. So lots of people, lots of cars, lots of waiting... one good thing though, we are going to have lunch while out Chinese Food, yum yum. The only way we get Chinese food is to go on our own without Hubby, he doesn't like it. So we have decided we deserve a nice lunch out. :0)

Hope you have a wonderful day - I'll be in line at the mall LOL

Create A Scene - A Spoon Full of Sugar

Hi... short post today - and sorry I was MIA for two days - I am moving into my craft room. VERY SLOWLY.. 1 - cuz Hubby is still working on one wall ... 2 - cuz I pulled my back out moving furniture. I am much better today - but I have to work today so won't get much done in my room until later... pout pout

So now that I am running late for work I have to post this really quick - Today's challenge at A Spoon Full of Sugar was my choice of challenge! And my pick for Guest DT... I just knew I wanted to ask Kittie Caracciolo her stuff just makes me drool! I love her scene cards.. and that is where I got the idea for the challenge to make a scene for the challenge!

For my scene I just had to use the New Christmas Stamps from Alota Rubber Stamps! Now I have used Santa and his chair before, but Mrs. Claus, the little girl and boy on his lap are all new for me to ink up! OH and his bag of toys :0) You can find links to all of these on the Alota Rubber Stamps home page.. sorry I usually link to each but I am so late for work!

I colored everyone with my copics, cut them each out and then layered them together some with pop dots to give depth. I cut a square out of a matching red card stock to create a sort of window in the card. Santa has some Flower Soft on his suit for fun, and then I added some Stickles around the window.Sorry so quick today... but sooooo late! Quick update on my room though... I hope to maybe get everything in place (well enough to take some photos) by the end of the week so I can show it off to you!!! Don't forget to visit a Spoon Full of Sugar and see lots of Scenes!!!

A Dark Donkey Day and yes Libbie too -

Man I hate this Fall time change!!! We thought it would be fun when Hubby got home last night to take carrots out to the Donkeys for Donkey Day photos - he got home at 5:45... it was already getting dark! Not good for taking photos let me tell you! I was going to get up this morning and take better photos for today, got up at 6am and went and looked out the window.. yes sun is up, but I can't see any donkeys!!! The fog is so heavy I can't see 10 feet! Oh well - guess this week we are just going to have to do with Dark photos -

You can see here they love their carrots!!! This is even after they had calmed down. The three big donkeys are so funny, they move with us from pen to pen and get way more than their share of the carrots. You can tell of the mini's which ones really do LOVE the carrots - the farther their neck is out the more they love them. (Darlene has the longest neck in this pen!) Others just stand there and if they get one Woo Hoo! If not oh well they were in on the action. We try and be fair and hand out evenly, but sometimes they just aren't into carrots.. and the ones that are, very happy to take another ones share. The babies get right in there and fight for a place at the fence. They won't eat the carrots yet, we bite little pieces off for them even, nope they just don't have the taste for them yet. ( sorry about the flash in their eyes... I hate dark photos!)

Even Black Jack gets a few... now mind you he WILL NOT join in on the mass group feeding. Way beyond dignified, he is stud and is King of the pen. He just stands off to the side and we sneak a few over to him. I say sneak because if one of the "Ladies" see us taking a carrot to him, they run him off so they can get it... King... LOL We know who really runs the pens... the women!

Vickey loves carrots... Mirta is still not to sure about them... But her Mom will gladly take her share.
How about a Mom to be update? It has been awhile since we have been on baby watch. No not to close yet- at least another month or more... who is in line this Winter? Darlene (yes she ALWAYS has a very wide load... big boned girl anyway) Patti, Bella and Jolene are all due this winter! Yes 4 more babies coming this winter!!
Now this is a HORRIBLE photo... I know, I really didn't plan on showing it, really out of focus, and that dark night flash in Jazz's eyes... but then I saw it... she looks to be smiling - she loves carrots too! :0)
Well here is Libbie this morning - SHE LOVES my new craft room, her and Gato, the cat, both do. I think it is the "new" and the well big room not much in it and it echo's really loud! That little dog had one very loud high pitch bark... kind of like an ice pick in your ear! She loves to hear that in here!! Sorry the floor is so dirty - still a construction area... but 1/2 the room is painted! Oops you are getting a sneak peek of the color I picked :0)

Sorry the photos weren't so great this week... dark, blurry and all. But some weeks it is the best there is, LOL ! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Things are Distressing at Just Magnolias!

We are distressing our cards this week at Just Magnolias for a monthly technique challenge and it is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp! Heidi from Simon Says Stamp has very generously agreed to sponsor this monthly challenge and the prize is ......... a $50 gift certificate! Woo Hoo make the prize what you want!!

Now yesterday Chris's distressing technique tutorial was posted on the challenge blog for those that need a little help in roughing up their cards - It sounds funny, but really it is kind of hard to make our pretty cards all ragged and inked on the edges - but comes out a pretty vintage look!

I went a bit nuts on mine... I am blaming the cold medicine - head was a bit loopy and I just didn't know when to stop! LOL
Tilda is colored with my Copics, then cut with an oval Nestie - Core'dinations Vintage paper is used for the base, that I sanded and inked. The pattern papers are from DCWV Farmers Market papers. Now these are really heavy papers, more so than normal DCWV cuz they are recycled paper.. and it really does give a nice vintage look when sanded and roughed up on the edges.

The lace band across the middle is a piece of the same collections pattern paper, with two Martha Stewart Eyelet lace border punched edges. Love that punch! So glad it jumped into my cart totally by accident.. LOL I kept saying I wasn't getting anything now... but that punch set just had to come with me!

Everything was inked heavily.. maybe to heavily! But it does have a old distressed look! OH and do like my "ribbon" and bow? It is amazing the stuff I am finding in my boxes of stuff! Now that I am really taking apart all my stash and reorganizing I am finding some really cool things that I have bought over the years - this is raffia - and I think it made a really cool bow especially for this card!

Better get a move on.. Hubby made me late today, as he wanted to get the Donkeys some bales out before he left for work, so by 6:30 I was out holding gates and running off Donkeys while he took them into the pens, it really is a major production to get them into some of the pens. Raffie's pen for example - you have to really watch them as they one try to run out of the gate, and two Raffie and a few of his crew love wheels.. yep - tires! They will actually chase the truck, tractor or trailer trying to bite and "get the wheels" Funny... but very dangerous! So it takes two of us to get them away and get the hay in place and out again. I actually have teeth marks in my bumper of my truck where Raffie took a hold of it and bit down cuz we kept running him off from the tires. LOL Any way - lots to do today and I want to get it all done so I can "play" in my new craft room this weekend!! Move it time!!! YEA!!!! I hope to get it all set up in the next week and then I can show photos... if no one else gets sick or Hubby don't slack off the next couple of nights! HA! With me to nag him I doubt it!

Don't forget the Just Magnolia Distressing Challenge! You just have to pop over and see the other DT's cards - they did a great job on theirs!

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #5 - All Glittery!

Mo time! And today at Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge we are all Glittery - Sparkling even! The challenge this week is to add at least 3 different kind of Glitter or Sparkle to your project. Well we all love a little Bling so this one is going to be fun!

For me this was a great time to use Kai in the Snow! Snow is shiny and glittery! Especially when you cover it in Stickles! :0) I colored with my Copics - and the sky is colored with Twinkling H20's - love the shimmer that brings.

Now for added sparkle, the paper is from Heidi Grace and has a really pretty sparkle to it. I added a mat to the image of white card stock punched with one of the brand new Martha Stewart corner/border punches, I believe this is one called eyelet lace. Pretty huh?

The ribbon across the middle is another bit of sparkle, has a silver that runs through it, then in the bow I added a bridal "diamond" to the knot. Scary sometimes how real these fake things look - but really adds a sparkle to the center of the bow! Then for just one more glitter I added two snow flake ornaments to the corner, these are mini ornaments that I got from Hobby Lobby - for those little tiny trees. Perfect sizes for cards and really great sparkle.

This is a close up so you can see the snow and the sky twinkling - I really love this challenge just wish it was easier to photograph.. LOL

Now pop on over to Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge and see all the DT's glittering cards and then hopefully you will join us and sparkle yourself! We all know that Mo's images are too fun to work with!

HUGs and Happy Thursday!
