Dust It Off Sunday - Papertrey Ink - Friendship Jar and My Favorite Things Just my Type

This is a little dusting off a stamp I haven't used since I purchased it, a long while back, and using a brand new one I was very excited to get this last week.

I first stamped out the Friendship Jar - from Papertrey Ink. I totally adore this set of stamps. And with this set they have had lots of sets to follow that take this jar set to all kinds of season and holidays. The flowers are from another set Friendship Jar Fillers. I then stamped the water with blue ink and then used deminsional glaze over it so the glass jar would look like...well a glass jar :0) I just wish I could have captured this with a photo -
Now you may be saying... wow this is really different for her... That is what I said when I finished it. LOL It was odd.. I just did this in little steps over a couple of days and this is how it came out. And I really like it! So the jar was colored with Copics, and then the glaze. Then for the type writer I stamped with embossing ink, and used fine detail black powder and heated it up. Totally do love this stamp set! It is called "Just my Type" and it is from My Favorite Things. It is so great how you can stamp out the saying, in a old fashioned type writer font, and then add it as if just rolled out. OH and they have a die to cut this one out! :0)

See how cute that sentiment is coming out of the type writer? - I added a satin ribbon to match the Graphic 45 paper. Only used one piece of paper - so much going on this 5x7 card already!

You like? I had lots of fun with it, and I have lots of other goodies to put in my next jar ;0)

This one makes me giggle!!!

This one really does make me giggle! And it is a rare card, I saw the sketch, had the idea, and bam it came out just as I planned. SUPER RARE!

The sketch is a fabulous one from this weeks Papertake Weekly Challenge and it's another of Katharina's Sketches, she rocks the sketches! Now as soon as I saw it I thought of this cute stamp that I purchased months back at the LSS garage sale. Cute, but hard to use. I actually cut of some of it to make it fit the card.

Isn't it too funny, love the Rubber stamp store in the center! Start your Morning shopping with a donut, go get your nails done (we know all these inks are so hard on them) Then do some much needed stamp shopping, while the cleaners next door is doing the laundry, then before you head home stop for some ice cream! A perfect shopping day! It is made by Museum of Modern Rubber. I colored it in with my copics. Then stamped out Tilda in her fashionable dress. I always dress like this when I run out to shop. =) I colored her in with Copics as well, then I high lighted with Spica Glitter Pens.

Then to the sketch, I used a sage green card stock and layered a piece of DCWV Glitter Nana's Baby Girl Nursery. LOVE IT, and I am seeing it everywhere on cards, bet it is one of their most popular lines! I zig zag stitched the edges down, and then did the same for the band up the middle. I found a scrap piece of coral pink card stock and ran both sides through my Fiskars Threading Water Border Punch. I then sewed it together, and put it all together. Tilda is put on with pop dots to give an appearance of standing in front of her favorite stores.

I then decided that because there really isn't a place for a sentiment, I would do something on the inside. LIGHT BULB! I pulled out My Favorite Things Charge set. Oh my, just so perfect! I stamped out the Celebrate in Style and Time to Shop, then the little purse and shoes. (Those are both my shopping weakness!) Colored in with copics and matted with the same green, and sewed together.

I don't know who I am going to send it too, but for now it is just standing on my desk, makes me laugh! Hope it does you too! Well off to do some blog hopping and then get my day going, have a great Wednesday!

MOOOO Saturday

Ok, so here is the card I actually gave my sister for her birthday. I had no choice... she collects black and white cows so the card was a must. I really like how it turned out, the masking of the cows is so much fun! You can read the directions on masking HERE, where I did my first cow card. I love all of the My Favorite Things Stamps, but I think Punny Farm is my favorite. Although I do have "It's a Jungle Out there" coming and I have been wanting it forever. Oh and if you didn't see they have release a new set "Can you Dig It?" and I think it might rank pretty high on my list as well. Check out their Brand Spankin' New Stuff HERE. Any way back to the card for my sister. I colored it all in with my copics, of course the cows weren't much to color in! I stamped the grass with my peg stamps from Rubber Stamps Tapestry while I was masking the cows so I didn't get the colors over their legs. I cut the image with my square Nestibilities and then layered on a piece of hot pink scalloped square also cut with Nestibilities. I used a white gel pen to dot the scallops. My farmer lady was colored in with the copics and high lighted with some Sepica glitter markers. I cut her out and pop dotted her over the cows corner. The sentiment is from the MFT Punny farm set. I added a fun green and hot pink ribbon down the right side and doodled the edges of the card with the white gel pen.

I think she liked it. Well that is it for today, gotta get a couple of things done before I head back over to the LSS crop. Lots of caffeine today I can see that!!!! Last night was a really late one, and today will be the same! Have a great weekend!

Lovin' my Magnolia Savings Pail!

This is a new favorite of mine! It turned out just as I saw it in my head... and as I have stated before that rarely happens! I am sad the photos just don't show well. Man this thing was hard to photograph! Ok credits first... I got the idea for this from the My Favorite Things Stamps Gallery one of my stamping heroes... "Kittie Kraft" had made one with their stamps and it is just about the cutest thing! Thanks for all the Inspiration Kittie!

Well when cleaning out I found the empty prima flower pail. And started to use the same stamps and then thought no I want try and make a Magnolia Tin! Well this is what I came up with! I have been joking and saying it will be my Magnolia Savings Pail. But hubby says I will never wait to fill it with money to order from them again that is what credit cards are for! he he he ahhh so true! :)

Doing these scenes are a lot of steps but the end results are just so worth it. First you stamp the main images... the girls. then you stamp them again on scrap paper. Cut them out as finely as you can. With removable adhesive cover the main girls. The create the "background". Layering the trees, the grass, flowers and filling in the sky. I used lots of different small stamps to do all of this I love stump or peg stamps for this. If you haven't tried any of them they are rubber stamps on a long wooden round handle. Kinda like a large dowel rod. Stamps by Judith have a bunch of them and so does Rubber Stamp Tapestry. At this point you remove your protective scrap girls and then I colored in the girls with my Copic Markers. And stickled their wings. I cut down the paper to fit inside the pail, and placed inside. I tried a million different ribbons, flowers, buttons and anything else I could think of to decorate the outside of the pail. And ended up not liking any of it. The art was enough. It just makes me smile! Hope it does you too!

Meet Annabella -

Wanted to introduce you to another mini donkey - This is Annabella, she is one of our youngest girls. When you approach this particular pen she is the first to the gate, and has her head through to reach out to you and get the first pet before anyone else. Oh and don't turn with out taking a few steps.... she'll grab what ever you are wearing to make sure you don't leave her! She is just too funny.

Today's card is one I made for a Splitcoast Stampers Challenge. This challenge is for the My Favorite Things Stamps weekly sketch. I used their Punny Farm Stamp set for those cute cows! This was my first attempt at masking. I stamped one cow on a scrap piece of paper and cut it out. Then stamped the cow on my heavy white card stock. With removable tape I placed the scrap cow over the "good" cow. Then stamped the two cows behind. I also used the scrap cow when stamping my grass in two different colors of green. I am happy with how it turned out and think I will have to try more masking in the future!

Wide Loads...

I thought y'all might enjoy seeing two of my soon to be mommas. This is Cheyenne and Macey they are both due soon. Macey sooner, on the left, I think she is within weeks! They get so wide at the end. And to answer before you ask, they are pregnant between 11-12 1/2 months. Yep a year! (Insert loud groan here) It takes a while to get these cute little ones, but they are so worth the wait. The extra ears in the background is Black Jack the "daddy" to be. Oh and this photo is a little over a week old... they are even wider this morning!

I am just having so much fun with these stamps! These character stamps from Rubbernecker Stamps are a scream! This card is perfect for so many people... wonder who will get this one.

I colored this party animal in with my copic markers and layered her on Studio K's dots, I also used my cuttlebug and the Happy birthday Embossing folder lightly inked. The saying "Happy Birthday You Party Animal You" is pop dotted off the card. I then added buttons, I think I was going for a confetti effect. The color combination is odd - took it from the patterned paper. Don't know if it works or not but I am sure those green pants are polyester!

My second card today is for the My Favorite Things

Stamps weekly challenge on Splitcoast Stampers. I just love the My Favorite Things brand of stamps. Craig thinks they are hysterical because there there is never a head or face.

I wanted to go more country on this one, I made the lace border with my Fiskars Border Punch, and used Daisy D's Blue Gingham for the "ribbon" and to paper piece her shirt. I used my Copic Markers to color her and the chickens, my prisma pencils to lightly give a blue sky in the back ground and glaze pens to "feed" the chickens.

I probably need to explain the hot pink rubber boots. My MIL (mother-in-law) moved to our country property, we told her she needed boots to be out at the barn, she wasn't happy as they are ugly. For Christmas my Mom got her a hot pink pair and she just loves them. I think she would wear them "out" if we would let her.

Well off to start my day, got an email from a friend last night reminding me of her birthday on Sunday... need a special card for that! he he he
