Keep it Simple with Magnolia Vs. Stampavie!

Sunday and time for Challenge 2 at Magnolia Vs. Stampavie!

Keep it simple... a Nice Simple Clean stream line look. No more than 3 Colours to be used in total. Ok sounds easy doesn't it! Well basically it is unless you are an embellishment freak like me. Man I had a super tough time with this challenge! I so wanted to add more to this card! But no I slapped my hand and Kept it Simple!

Starting off I picked three pattern papers from my stash from Daisy D's that kept to the theme of three colors or less. Then stamped my Magnolia image onto watercolor paper and worked with my Ranger Distressing Inks again. She is cut out with a Fiskar's fingertip kraft knife. A red card stock base is used, and with four even squares I zig-zag and straight stitched it down. I love that Friends stamp from Hampton Arts, and with the Ranger Ink I stamped it directly onto the pattern paper. Just so I didn't get the total shakes I added 5 simple buttons in the top corner to balance the sentiment. I know I still could have gotten away with ribbon or something straight and simple. But the more I kept looking at it the more I was OK with it just as it is, well for this challenge that is... If it wasn't for the simple theme I would have put some flourishes... swirls... fancy lace... and even more. But simple and streamlined it is!

Now common you can do this too! Any Magnolia or Stampavie Brand Stamp (Sarah Kay or Rachelle Anne Miller) will work! Make sure to head over and see the other DT Streamline looks - wow they really did it well, and probably didn't get the shakes doing like I did!

Ok... I will be back later with a second post - from me and Bella - wink wink.... I have had about 2 hours of sleep but we have something furry standing in the Momma pen with Bella. I'll get some photos as soon as the sun it up, and can get them posted... so back in a couple of hours. he he can't even tell you what "it" is... we think but it was so dark we aren't for sure!
Later-
HUGS and-

I love the card you did a wonderful job. I know I would have a hard time keeping it to three colors. Now I'm going to have to try to do it.

Cute card! It’s a good lesson for me on how pretty simplicity can be. I so often way overdo! I think I will have to give limiting numbers of colors a try.

love the simple little card you made with Tilda - and I know what you mean about embellishment withdrawal symptoms! I might need chocolate on hand before attempting this challenge! hugs, annie x
