2 card Sunday -

Well my schedule has just been upside down the last couple of days, and will be for a couple more days. So I am posting two cards today, and then my Monday post, and yes my blog candy winner, will be on late tomorrow afternoon.

Ok, first card -

Friday Sketchers is already on week 4! Wow this month has flown by. The sketch this week is from Heidi from Norway, her blog is fantastic so take a look. Her sketch is a great basic sketch that was fun to work with. I moved things over just a bit to fit my large Rubbernecker stamps. I love these two stamps, they are so fun to color in. I stamped them with my Brilliance Graphite Ink, and colored them in with Copics. I then created a moonlight glow with my twinkling H2O's. I love that stuff and it really does glow in person! When cutting out the background I cut the tree out of the square and cut it out by hand. I sewed it down to a onto the mat, which happened to be the backside of the pattern paper I picked. I distressed the edges of the pattern paper and sewed the edges of it, then distressed the edge of the mat. It needed just a bit more distress look so I inked the edges of all of it with dark brown, including the base for the card. I then cut out the cats and pop dotted them onto the back ground and did the same for the sentiment. I hope you can recognize the sketch in my card, and like how it turned out.

Second Card:

Saturday's Workout this week actually fit a few of my cards this week, but I was having fun with my sewing machine so I made a card just for the challenge, which this week was to "Be in stitches". To sew on your card, it actually gave the option to sew with a pen, but I have had my machine out and so I did the real thing... AHHH Imagine that no gel pen stitching! Trying to break out of my habits. So I pulled out this adorable little High Hopes Monkey and his bananas. I have had him more than a month and never inked him up. I colored him with Copics, and gave a little twinkle in his smile with white gel pen. I colored the banana's with Copics then high lighted with Spica Glitter Pens. I really need to find a better way to photo the glitter! It really sparkles in real life. I then found this striped paper in my scraps that was the perfect colors. I double matted the monkey with a yellow and the same green that I was using for the base. I matted the striped paper with the yellow as well. I used a dark brown thread and zig zag stitched it all down. The sentiment was stamped on the yellow and lightly colored in then stitched onto a piece of green. Now please don't laugh at my ribbon. I was going for a bow tie look. I think it is just sad. I really need a class on pretty bows... anyone know of a tutorial out there? I cut out the extra bananas, one is pop dotted to the monkey's hand and the others are placed in the bottom corner with pop dots. A really funny card I think, this monkey will be seeing more ink I am sure!
Ok, so don't forget blog candy winner will be late afternoon on Monday... I am so excited! Have a great Sunday!

AAAHHH No email for days!

Yep, my email has been out since early Saturday Morning and they don't think it will be fixed until late tonight or Tuesday! It was not that long ago that I could get through my day and feel just perfectly normal with out checking email. Did good if I checked it once a week, but now my life is upside down with out it! Its like leaving the house with out my cell phone! So if you have emailed me, sorry I haven't answered...

Ok, this project was something that I have been wanting to do for a while. I have been wanting a Rolodex to keep my Internet addresses and names in. Well a few weeks back I found this blank to alter. I just love it! I used some of my favorite Basic Grey Blush paper, purchased pink blank cards. And of course added my Chic Tilda to make me smile. Now if you could only see my fingers... I inked the all the edges and the post. With DARK Brown Colorbox Catseye, well the pad fell off the base, I used a napkin for a while. I was a mess! I have scrubbed till my hands hurt, and I still have ink... But it was so worth it! The letters were some old Nostalgia stickers, that I think worked really well with the paper. Tilda is colored with Copics, the double matted to make her strong. I used a chipboard flourish that I think is Fancy Pants, and a flower from Petaloo. The button is out of my Grandma's old buttons. I LOVE IT! Now to get all my addresses and info into it, then it will sit on the corner of my desk.

I did get one card made last night, it is for the Saturday Workout Challenge Blog, this week they asked for something embossed. Well I pulled out my new Crock stamp by High Hopes Stamps, and colored him with Copics and highlighted with Ranger White Gel Pen. I placed him ontop of a piece of sage green Bazzil Cardstock that I ran through my Cuttlebug with this cute reptile looking pattern on it. My base is a dark green Bazzil card stock, for some fun I added a scrap piece of Basic Grey Lilly Kate paper, and matted everything on some scrap light blue card stock. I doodled with Sakura Glaze Pens, and added some ribbon. The Crock just looked flat - so I carefully put some Diamond Glaze on him to give him a shiny wet look. I laughed out loud the first time I saw the sentiment "You Crock Me Up!". What do you think?

Well lots to do today... and I am so hoping that my email will be up and running later today! Might get outside to do a few things this afternoon the weather is beautiful here! Hope you all have a Great Monday!

Tilda & Co. and Ismaki challenges

Hello and Good Monday!

I completed two challenges last night, then found that one of them is perfect for a third!

Tilda & Co. Challenge this week is "Girly but Blue!". To make a femine card in shades of blue. Here is my attempt. I like the way it came out, I used Bazzil card stock, then layered a piece of my new DCWV Nana's Kids embossed papers, love that this card stock already is embossed! And a lot of it is glittery! I then ran a piece of plain white cardstock thru my Cuttlebug and embossed it, and inked very lightly. The flowers are my shimmering white Bridal confetti that I am just in love with, I inked them and then added some adorable Making Memories mini button brads. I also added a piece of lattice Ribbon. The sentiment is from Hanna Stamps. And Tilda is all decked out in shades of blue, and carrying a basket of mini prima blue flowers. Her wings are stickled, and she is highlighted with a white gel pen. That of course is used to stitch the edges of everything.

My second card today is for last weeks Ismaki Challenge. I know I am behind a little bit, but I didn't want to miss a week, so I hustled up and got it done over the weekend! I struggled some with this sketch, and I hope you can recognize it. I pulled out a set of stamps that I have had for months and never inked! Sad I know. I purchased these Clear Art Stamps because I fell in love with the images, I had to have them! Then I got them and was stumped with them and they just sat there. I inked the images with Brilliance Cocoa Bean ink, then clear embossed them (this is hard to see in the photo but in real life it looks pretty cool)I then aged them with a cream color Color box ink. Place on black card stock and found this 7 gypsies pattern paper in my stash, I think it has an old word french look. The sentiment is from Rubbernecker Stamps. I used a scrap piece of ribbon and high lighted with my Spica gold glitter pen. After completing this card I remembered a brand new challenge site that started on Saturday. I went over to see the challenge hoping maybe I could fit one more card in before I collapsed for the night. It has been a really long emotional couple of weeks. Anyway visited the new blog Saturday's Workout, which is a brand new challenge on Saturdays. I think it will have a lot of really cool things to try and different! Well the first "theme" is to distress. I don't do this often, then looked down at the card I had just completed and couldn't believe it! TaDah! Done! Hope they don't mind sharing =)

Package Update!!!! I came home yesterday from the grocery store, which I hate to do on weekends. And on my gate was a white box, dented and smashed on one end. With a note saying "this was delivered to the wrong house". Whoever received it was nice enough to drive down my long dirt bumpy road and leave it on my gate! I was so thrilled I almost cried! So my prize box is here and lots of new Cloud 9 and two fiskars tear rulers to play with! There are still some really nice honest people in this world!
