Animal Crackers - so wanting some baby donkeys...

Howdy -

I will be totally honest here... I lost track of the days this week and didn't even realize that it was Friday until the sun had set - I have just been lost this week for some reason.

Hubby and I were talking this week about timing for putting in some girls in with Raffie and Black Jack... YEA! It is just way way way to hot right now. Don't want them breeding in the heat or delivering next summer in the heat. So we need to wait a couple of months still. But we have decided that we need to have some more babies to sell. Talking about 4-6!!  That got me looking  back through all the old photos at past babies. And since I am a knuckle-head and forgot to take photos I am just going to show off some cute baby photos of the past...

Pepita was our first real all black baby. She was like black velvet. She is still is a looker, and we still have her and she is one of the Ladies planned to breed this fall... oh man her and Raffie could give us all kinds of fun color!

Yolanda is very special. We sold her to some very good friends so we do get to see her a few times a year. She was hands down one of the sweetest girls. She loved to hug. She is special due to the fact that we lost her Mom a few years after she was born. So the genes from Cheyenne are very important to us. We are discussing working out some visiting so she can be bred with Raffie...

Now Lydia was just sold this last year. She to me always looked so graceful in her baby photos. She wasn't in real life for sure. But she just had that look in her face that made her look like an angel. Pushy and demanding that describes her a little more accurately... but still beautiful!

Alonso one super sweet little man. LITTLE ... he was so tiny when born. Still isn't real big as an adult. He too was sold to our good friends. He was gelded and is strictly a pet having lots of loving. They couldn't use him to breed as he is related to Yolanda. Cute Cute Cute...

Jorge... Another LITTLE man. And happens to be Hubby's little buddy. He was on our for sale list and almost was sold a while back. But the look on Hubby's face about killed me. So he got crossed off and someday we may use him in our breeding. I just adore those silky black noses!

Felicia... this gal is a riot. She gave us quite a scare as a new born. Not actually her at first. But her Mom Macey... then passed on to her. Macey got really sick and that passed to Felicia. The two of them lived outside my kitchen door so I could keep a really close eye on them. She was born in Fall... and really grew a shaggy coat that winter. Longest of all the babies I think. She still is thicker and has more of her baby bangs as an adult than any of the others.

And then there is MY baby. Sergio....

Now for those that didn't follow me way back, as I said before, we lost Yolanda's Mom... well we lost her 10 days after she gave birth to Sergio. Her and Macey had gotten into some bad hay (won't go into that long story... long story short, my temper found the guy that sold it to us and I was madder and louder than I think I have ever been.)  Sergio was only 10 days old when Cheyenne died... I took over as Mom and went to feeding him every two hours round the clock for a long time... after weeks I spread it out over weeks then weaned him at 5 months old. I was so sad... We had such a bond. Still do. And this guy will also be part of the breeding stock. Really soon I hope, Black Jack will get this Fall... but we are talking about building a new pen for Sergio to be a stud Jack next year maybe... He is such a stunning guy.

Sorry I was a nut job and totally forgot photos this week and I hope that lots of baby photos weren't a drag as old photos show again....  Sometimes a "Mom" just likes to look back at her kids when they were little.

Have a great one!

Whimsy Stamps - A Scrapbook Page?? Oh my!

Howdy -

Seriously!! I made a scrapbook page. It has been FOREVER since I have done a scrapbook page! But I just had too... You see as soon as I saw the Whimsy Stamps Image "Leon" I had this page in my head. It HAD to be made!

This "Ferrari" Baby walker was a baby gift for some good friend of ours from Hubby. He is a HUGE F1 fan as is these boy's Dad... so when I found this baby walker it was too perfect. And these two brothers both have had tons of fun and logged miles and miles in that walker. I am sure it still has lots of use, ready for the next babies in the future too. I mean a Ferrari is a classic collectors car right? They are always COOL!

Well when I saw "Leon" I just had to make this page and frame it for a gift for our friends. I pulled out RED - BLACK and YELLOW card stock papers - The image of Leon is colored with my Copics (colors below). Then I matted the two photos and the image with black and sewed things together. My words are cut out with my Silhouette Cameo... the dust was thick on the cover. I need to use it more went surfing and found lots online I can cut with it!

Just all came together fast and love how it turned out!

Hope they like it as much as I do. And I think I will need to do more scrapbook pages! As that is where it all started for me a LONG time ago. And I enjoyed it and forgot how much I like working with photos and papers!

Have a blessed day!

High Hopes Stamps - Calling the Doctor!

Howdy -

Dug into some of my old favorites from High Hopes this week! This is one of my favorite get well stamps to use. A little humor always makes you feel better right?

Used a few High Hopes Stamps here to create this fun scene - Medicine ManBubbling Brew - Banana Tree - Jungle Leaf corner - and the sentiment "Calling the Doctor"  Totally love these stamps all together! And images that are not hard to mask to stamp over and create the larger image.

I created an easel card with papers from My Minds Eye, I sewed down all the layers after inking the edges with Rangers Distressed Tea Dye ink. The image is colored with my Copics (colors below)
I added the buttons to help give the easel a place to stand and then three more for decoration at the top of the card.

I have so much fun making scenes! Like creating my own coloring book page.

Hope you enjoyed - and if feeling a bit under the weather gave you a chuckle!

Animal Crackers - The Chicks!

Howdy -

This week has been all about "The Chicks"!!  I have been just about to bust I am so proud of my young girls! Now I have been really struggling the past couple of months with my chickens. Just not getting the eggs I should. Now we did see a 4-5 foot snake earlier this week... and sadly he got away, and has not been seen again. But still I don't think that he is getting into 3 coops every day and stealing most tall my eggs. So for all the chickens we have 0-2 eggs a day - just hasn't been good for me! Or my Buddy Deana.. right? missing eggs? Good news coming here...

But my chicks... the six little Australorps... have grown up and are just stunning. Last week I noticed that Leon the rooster has been calling out to them much more... and then this week... AN EGG!!! They are coming of age and all though it will be a little longer until all six are going regular for me, they are starting up! I am just such a proud Momma! LOL I know dork...

See how stunning they are -

I can't quite capture just how gorgeous they really are with the camera. They just glisten in the sun with those iridescent colors. Really filled out and grown up so beautifully all of them!

Keeping an eye on me while snapping photos...

We got a tiny rain shower just before I went out to photo. Cooled it down from the 100 degree plus oven for a few minutes then a little sauna feeling. But for a little while wasn't bad at all, almost nice outside. And that made a great time to do a little cleaning on those feathers that hasn't been wet all month.

Doris, a Dorking Chicken,  is the Australorps "Coop Mom" she was the only adult chicken I had in this pen. She has gone from running from the crazy fast moving chicks to watching over them and leading them.  Here she was really going to town getting under her wings!

And then found the "Girls' all doing the same... LOL

Ok mentioned Leon so he thought I should show him off to you... again...

He is a looker isn't he? Yes, he knows it.. I always hear cheesy 70's music when he is strutting around... Ha!

Now had to show off one photo of the doggies.... not a great photograph snapped really fast with my cell phone earlier in the week. But way to cute to not show off.

So very very rare to get all three of them laying out, being still. With in a fraction of a second they saw that I was looking at them all and they were all up running and barking. But I got the photo first! My babies... Love them.

Hope you enjoyed this week. I know lots of bird photos... but I am so proud of the chicks and have been waiting so long for that first egg to show up! Even Hubby was hooting and celebrating that first egg! You see... since the sighting of the snake... he has been joining me in gathering the eggs... Not that I am afraid... just prefer him to open up the coop first ya know, it was a BIG snake! LOL

Whimsy Stamps - Friendship is the Greatest

Howdy -

Whimsy Stamps today - and still working with Christmas in July. Today I am playing with "Friendship is the Greatest" by Silvia Zet of Wee Stamps. Just to precious!

Love this image - great for a BFF don't you think? I colored with my copics then blinged a bit with Stickles. More older papers from my stash, I think DCWV. Lots of sparkle to them. I used ribbon on the edges of the paper to create the large band around the middle  The sentiment is from Whismy as well. Friendship Ticket Sentiment collection, cut out with the Ticket Die  then matted with the Fancy ticket Die. Love how they layer together.

Inside more of the same papers -

Love the light blue and red color combo for this winter card -

Fun to cool off with the winter cards when it is 100 degrees outside! Helps a little. Especially when you work inside with lots of air conditioning!

Hope you have wonderful day! Color up some cool!!!

High Hopes Stamps - Bob Love Golf

Howdy -

Another great new image from High Hopes Stamps - Bob Love Golf

Now I am not a "golfer" but coloring this one was too much fun. Maybe it was finding the perfect pattern paper to create a paper pieced pair of golfing pants out of! LOL

I colored with my Copics (colors below) and then found the pattern paper for him. Went pretty wild... as don't most serious golfers where the most ridiculous patterns?  I used the same paper and lots of card stock mats for this one. Sewed down all the layers then added the sentiment that is also from High Hopes Sentiment #4 Collection - then a few buttons for added fun.

Inside more of the same papers.

Copic colors used -

So I may not "get" golf.. but coloring it up was fun!

Animal Crackers - I < Heart > my animals!

Howdy -

More shots from last weeks photo session. They were all in such good moods and enjoying the attention and posing for me.

Love this shot of Gabby and Patti... simple little sniff of each other to say hi... but love it!

Kind of looks like a heart don't you think? Maybe I am just looking to much, cuz I love these guys so much!  LOL The girls are all such good friends and I can say this was a friendly hi... but it may have been a check to see if one of them had eaten something better than the other.

Ellie Mae was just lounging after a good roll in the dirt.

They are all so gorgeous right now! All shiny and slicked off.

Jolene is really showing off her colors isn't she?

That face is just stunning! That velvet black nose is so beautiful. She has given us some fabulous babies in the past and shares her color with her kids.

Now just don't know what to say about Miss Vicki... My high dollar with the long list of family awards and coloring. She was always a little princess. Hated being wet, Hated being dirty... and now...

Oh my she is normally so bright white with her black and dark brown spots. She looks as if she has been rolling in the dirt with Ellie Mae and was really stirring up the dirt! That face is suppose to be sparkling white with her green eyes and pink nose showing off. Now it seems she has put aside her royalty and joined the common and enjoying a bit of good old fashion dirt! LOL oh well still beautiful to me.

Speaking of beautiful and hate getting dirty. Miss Libbie is loving her first hair cut she got last month.

Gives her that puppy look and she is already growing her fur back in but she thinks she is still a super model and loving her cut.

Now Thelma... she is just a mess.

This gal has personality to the highest and is always into something. Here she was enjoying her breakfast and wearing it as well. I figure one of the adult ladies dropped a bite over the top of her as she loves to wiggle in and eat under and next to the ladies. Growing up so fast. Already getting in her little knot head.

Hope you enjoyed this week - So rare to snap so many good poses so I have to keep snapping when they are in the mood. Animals are really tough to get to follow photo instructions for sure!

Have a blessed weekend! Enjoy family friends and a furry kid!
