Whimsy Inspirations - YOU and ME

Howdy-

This week I was going through some of my favorite Whimsy Digital Images. I came across LiaStampz "You and Me" this is such a great image for anniversary card don't you think?

Sweet couple - I colored with my Copics (colors below) then went back with my pencils to shade. Seemed like a cool fall day with the image so I added some fluffy clouds. I then inked the edges of the images as it just seemed to bright with the papers. The papers are Prima Marketing Cigar Box - love the vintage feel - I added two die cuts from Whimsy's Double Scallop Border Die such a great die. I found a silky ribbon and created a band with a bow. Then six dots of my Viva Decor Paper Pen to create faux pearls.

Inside I used scraps of the papers.

Copic colors used -

Had fun with this one  - was so nice to work off a clean desk. It has been months since I saw the entire top of the desk! LOL Now to find the rest of the craft room... another day as I am having fun coloring right now.

Hope you have some fun today -

Whimsy Inspiration - Birthday Kitty

Howdy -
Today I have a card to show you that I did with one of the new Whimsy Stamps for the month. This is Birthday Kitty from Lia Stampz -

I really had fun coloring up this kitty! Used my Copics, and went for a calico cat. Don't he look like he is having a lot of fun at his party? I found some papers from my stash of scraps that went well, including some shiny card stock I think that is from Bazzil? Then I used some ribbons and flowers for the corners.

Inside more papers -

Copic Colors Used

A fun quick card. I just love kitty cards! Now make sure you see all the new at Whimsy! Those Digital images can be in your email pretty darn quick for you to be coloring right away!

Hope you have a wonderful day -

Whimsy Digital Stamps Challenge - Back To School

Howdy -

Well it is almost that time - Back To School. I went down the school supply isle at the store the other day. Did I need anything? Nope. I just love seeing all the new supplies. Things are very different from when Mom purchased my supplies just a "few" years ago. And no kiddos here to buy for, but it is still fun to see all the new tools of school.

It did inspire me for this months challenge at the Whimsy Stamps blog - Here is the new Digital image from Lia Stampz Vintage Girls - "News Girl"

Now I know she isn't a real school image, but I think she is just too funny and looks sort of like a teacher sitting up there doesn't she?

I colored with my Copics (colors below) and then found some very old papers in my stash from October Afternoon that work perfectly for the challenge. Kept it simple as the papers do have a lot going on. Just some little dots of Viva Decor again...

Inside scraps from the outside -

Copic colors used -

Had a lot of fun with this one. I just love coloring these Vintage Girlz ! Now make sure to pop over to the Whimsy Stamps Blog for the new Challenge and please join us there are LOTS of prizes!!

Howdy

Wanted to share a card I did the other night - I just love coloring LiaStampz  Vintage Girls! LOVE them! This one is "Strawberry Girl" -

She is just too cute! I colored with my Copics - colors below - She went perfect with a new paper pad I just got ;0) - From Pebbles , Front Porch collection. I also used some of Whimsy's adhesive lace. You can find it HERE at the Decorative Tape page. You have to have some of this! Head over there and then tell them Michelle Said YOU HAD TO BUY IT! LOL ... the lace goes perfect with LiaStampz Vintage Girls.

I then punched out some flowers and leaves and added them.

Inside are my scraps and more papers from the same collection.

And the Copic Colors I used -

Hope you like my card - it was so fun to work with.

Off to do more coloring today! Hope you have something fun to do as well.

Whimsy Stamps Challenge - More than 2 Dies

Howdy -

Challenge time at Whimsy Stamps and this month the challenge is to use 2 or more dies on your project. Well that is a great reason to clean off and find my Die Cutting Desk isn't it? Oh my took me half and hour to find my Big Shot Pro... and that sucker is really really large! But now I can see it and I actually used three die cuts on my card! Whoo Hoo!

Here is my project -

I used Lia Stampz new image called "Flower Girl" - isn't she pretty? I colored with my Copics after matching her up with some papers from Graphic 45. Then I went to find some dies to use -

First I pulled out "Double Scallop Doily Die" - very girly! Then I die cut out the sentiment "Happy Birthday" that is a part of the Sentiment Die collection  - LOVE This set!!!   But then I found a new die that I purchased a while back and it was still sealed up and not used. Well how sad is that?? So I opened it up and used three different papers to cut it out - The "Bird Cage Die Set" Now when I think about it... I used four little dies within this set.. the cage, the two birds and the vine... so does that make my total SEVEN die cuts now? LOL Oh well Seven or Three... over two and I am happy with the end results!

Here is the inside more of the same papers -

And the Copics used to color my image -

Now you must pop over to the Whimsy Stamps Challenge and see all the DT inspirations!! Then join us for a chance to win some Whimsy of your own. LOTS of chances!

Have a wonderful day -

Happy Easter Card!

Howdy -

Today I have an Easter Card! This image just made me smile when I saw it. Whimsy Stamps artist LiaStampz Digi's are a favorite for me, and "Bunny Costume" is just a cutie don't you think?

Colored with my Copics (colors below) I went with some bold coloring and just a tiny bit of shading for the costume. Easter Bunnies need to be white right? Used up some scrap papers on my desk from My Minds Eye. Added a satin green ribbon, lots of mulberry flowers with leaf punches. Then I printed out a Whimsy Digital Sentiment "Easter Sentiments" This is a wonderful collection of sentiments! And a great deal too!

Inside are the same papers -

Copics used -

Whimsy Inspiration - Cooking is Fun!

Howdy -

Rainy few days here - and it was fabulous! Laundry all done - house semi clean - And I crafted to the sound of rain on the metal roof of my craft room.

This week for my Whimsy Stamps Inspiration card I decided to have some fun with the image from LiaStampz - "Cooking fun" I just love those chickens!  They are just not happy she is cracking their kids there!

To funny - I colored with my Copics (colors below) and then remembered some papers I had from Farm House called Country Kitchen.  Those vintage cooking and food ads were too fun with the image I thought. Was also in a doodle mood. Remember when every card had doodling on it. I sometimes miss doodling...

Inside is more papers from the same collection

And here are the Copic Colors used - oh and that white gel pen ;0)

I really do like to cook. Despite some people around here thinking I don't. But it just seems that with us always on the run and only two of us.. that eating out is what we do a lot of. This week I have done more cooking at home. The kitchen has been more of a kitchen instead a antique workshop. Been nice.

What do you like to cook? Most of the time it is fast here no planning ahead - Need more things like that in my cabinet. Recently got hooked on Trader Joes Grocery store - never been before there is only one in town. But went in a couple of months ago just to see what it was like and love it. Their prepared foods are great to have in the freezer. I just have to chant to keep myself away from all the cookies and candy... so hard. LOL

Hope you have a wonderful day -

Whimsy Inspiration - Bicycle :0) My HS BFF Deana -

Howdy -

This weeks Whimsy Inspiration card was just too fun for me. You see as soon as I saw the Whimsy Image "Bicycle" by LiaStampz in the release for July I knew I had to make a card for my High School BFF Deana. You see Deana has taken up her Hubby's hobby of biking. And not pleasant rides around the block... no LONG "rides" Like 15 - 20 miles!!! In TEXAS!! IT IS HOT HERE NOW! Well I thought I would make her a card for a congrats for doing so well at her new hobby and this image was perfect!!

Bicycle - LiaStampz

Sweet image isn't it. I colored with my Copics (colors below) and matched it all up with papers from Simples Stories called Vintage Bliss. I sewed all my layers down, and then made up some flowers with a Martha Punch, and leaves from Marvy. I used Core-dinations for them and sanded all the flowers and the leaves. Love how that comes out. I dotted the flowers with Viva Decor Pearl Pen. My sentiment is also from Whimsy. "Ticket Notes" is a favorite.

Inside is more of the same papers as the front.

Now I guess here I should come clean huh? Sounds like I am just so sweet sending her the card for no reason at all huh? Inside I wrote basically... that this is how I think of her in my own mental image of her and her new hobby.... Spandex scares me!

LOL HEY she is my HIGH SCHOOL BFF.... WE have really done pretty much it all - I still shake my head when I think of how many quarters we "wasted" playing Astroid. And I will never ever tell anyone exactly how fast we were going when we launched her little car while hurrying to make it on time to "her then" boyfriend "now husband's" Soccer Game. :o)   Those were some great days huh?

Here are my Copic colors -

So hope you liked my card - she seemed to get a LOL out of it.

REALLY I AM SUPER PROUD of you Deana!!! Sure as Hell know you will NEVER find me in Spandex on a bike doing 15 - 20  miles!!!  Getting on the Spandex alone would make me pass out... Then once I saw myself I could never ever ever go out the door!!! Much less get my big rear end on a bike! I get hurt walking for pete's sake! LOL

Have a great day!! HUGS and

Whimsy Inspiration - Gardening - Friends

Howdy -

hope you are having a productive week - I feel like I am then I look at my list of what I need to do and I sigh. How can a person work all day think they got a lot done but then realize that only 1/2 of what needed to get done did? Nuts! Oh well today is a new day....

But last night I threw in the towel and said done for the day and gave myself some crafting time. This card just put itself together! Don't you love when that happens. :0)

This is a brand new digital image for May at Whimsy - This month is another wow release! This image though really caught my attention and I had to color it up first. Just so happy and simple joy. This little lady doesn't have a list of things to get done...

This is LiaStampz "Gardening"

Went with peachy orange and green colors with this one. Why? cuz there was a paper pad sitting on my desk right in front of me and that is the colors from the collection. LOL First Edition "Blank Canvas" - odd name for the collection, other than some of the papers have a linen texture. Anyway, loved the colors so I went with it. Colored with my Copics (colors below) - then found a few papers and sewed them down. Ran a piece of adhesive lace around as a border. You have seen the decorative Tapes at Whimsy right? My FAVORITE is the lace... check them out HERE. Then I ran a peach colored ribbon around. Everything was lined up and square, including the image.

I found a sentiment that works PERFECTLY with the image. The sentiment is also from Whimsy - a digital sentiment called "Flowers in Bloom" GREAT set of friendship sentiments that can be used with images or all on their own.

Decided it had been a while since I pulled out some mulberry flowers - lookie... I found peach colored ones in my drawer!! Decided to leave them like a bouquet and tie a bow around them. Layered some Martha Stewart Branch punches behind them.

Inside I just added more of the same papers -

And Copics Colors Used -

Entire card took from printing the image to finished and taking the photo - a little over an hour. That is speed crafting for me!

And that was while talking to the baby chicks in their little pen next to my crafting desk. Yes they are still in my craft room. Cold front coming in tonight - so better to leave them where they are safe, making a mess, but safe. The porch will be way to cold for them for a couple of days.

Well better get going if I am going to have any chance at marking off everything on that list today. Hope your list is very short and you have time to color something. Make sure to check out the digital release at Whimsy... instant happiness! :0)

Whimsy Challenge - Pretty in Pink

Howdy -

Pretty in Pink - Love that theme for a "challenge". This week that is the challenge at Whimsy. And with the new digitals available this month at the Whimsy Store there are LOTS of digital images that can work perfectly with a pink color theme.

Me I went with LiaStampz - Lily - Don't know why this one jumped out at me. I just love her. She has personality doesn't she?

I totally love working with pink and brown. May be out of style right now - but I still love it. I colored up Lily with my Copics - and don't hate me but I totally forgot to take the photo of the colors. Was running a bit late and slipped my mind completely. I cut her out with the oval Nestie, then inked the edges with Distress Ink "Tea Dye" - was still sitting on my desk from my last card and seemed to work here too - I found some old papers from Glitz that I thought matched up to Lily cut a few layers and added them to a Kraft card stock base. I cut out a Whimsy Double Scallop Border die from the same kraft card stock and ran a piece of pink ribbon through the openings. I then dotted the holes with Viva Decor Pearl Pen.

Digging in my flower stash drawer I found some hot pink tiny roses that match the pattern papers, so I punched out a few Martha Stewart Leaves and added them. For my sentiment I started to use one of the bonus sentiments that come with Lily - but then I saw the Coco Chanel quote and loved it.  It too is from Whimsy -

Here is a closer shot of Lily and the quote -

How about joining us at the Whimsy Inspirations Challenge - it is pink!!

Alrighty I am off now - Dr. appointment, a few errands and then home to get some work done. Sigh I need a vacation -

Have a great day !
