Just Magnolias in a basket!

Hello - Wow I got in on a challenge this week! LOL and on time too! This week at Just Magnolia's we are making an adorable Easter Basket! There is a wonderful tutorial for a basket weave technique - I hope to give it a try myself. But for my basket this week.. I went with a template that I have used many times in the past, no brain cells required you could say... LOL and that was a plus for me this week!

My basket template is from InStyle Blog HERE... I made this one last year for Easter as well you can see it HERE.. but I changed this years up just a little.... instead of using a 6 x 6 paper to start off with, I knew I wanted my basket to be larger... to hold more candy you know! LOL  So I went with a full 12 x 12 sheet of pattern paper. Making my score marks at 4 inches and 8 inches on both sides - then following the remaining instructions.

To decorate my basket I made a scalloped border with the Martha Stewart double dot scalloped border punch, layered on white card stock and then bordered with a ribbon. My handle is the Large Double border punch from Martha.. love this one! Was easy to punch and attach. For my Magnolia image I had to use Tilda in her Easter Bunny suit.

I colored her with my Copics, then cut out with a scalloped oval Nestie - then matted with a large oval. A bit opposite of what the normal is for matting.. but honestly... The largest scallop I had would not make a mat.. and then I thought well flip it! And I think I like it, a bit different huh?  I then pulled out a pink stickles, and dotted all around the scallops and then again all around the top of the basket - Love my stickles!!! Especially in pink!

Now to see how totally cool the basket weave tutorial pop over to the Just Magnolias Blog Challenge and see it for yourself, and the wonderful baskets the rest of the DT made!

Have a wonderful Friday... I am hoping for some sun! We have had so much rain here this week we are floating! The animals are all soaked, and standing in water. So some sun to dry things up a bit would be wonderful. And much better for some Donkey/Goat/Libbie/Autie photos too!

HUGS -
