Animal Crackers - Hide and Seek

Howdy -

Oh Bubba... Always  into something. The other day he was in a hiding and jump out and grab you kinda mood. He thinks he is a very good hider! I mean how in the world could I see in in that laundry basket?? LOL He is cute but not the smartest!

He really is a funny guy!

I got up really early this week to take photos... before 7 am is really early for me! Went into the Lady Goat pen and snap a photo of our three last ladies. Seems so weird to not have many goats. These three and then Chipmunk are it. But it is time to downsize a bit and take some work off of Hubby. And the Goats, although we love them dearly, they were all getting so old and we decided that a break would be best. So now these three girls have the entire pen to themselves. I will say there is not much fighting for places to get now. Enough huts for them each to have their own .... but they still usually pile up in one.

I do miss all the noise and calling out from the goats. But Penelope is trying her best to keep some sound out there for me. She is always talking.

Before I came outside I walked by the back window all the Lady Donkeys were all right up front at the fence looking towards the house. Perfect! I can get out there and get some good photos and love on some girls! Grabbed my shoes, my camera and went out the back door... just in time to see the long line of donkeys heading way off into the pen. Really??? It wasn't 5 minutes! But when they didn't see anyone moving out to them they took off to graze before it got hot. Darn!

So I turned and went back to my reliable Three Stooges. Still at the breakfast bar. Cocoa and Valentine on one side mouths full of hay.

And then Teddy on the other side. So I stopped and talked to them, loved on them... cautiously with Cocoa gotta move slow with her or she takes off. Valentine is a depend on his mood for attention. This morning he let me love all over him. He must of gotten a good night sleep! And then Teddy a more of a in your face attention kind of donkey. He will always take attention!

I was so upset everyone else was off and didn't want their photo taken. But I'll try again in the next few days to get some close ups of them.

As I was heading back to the house I saw another kind of hide and seek! A rare snap of the photo to capture two of Hubby's Old Cats. They usually take off and I can't get photos of two of them together. I think this is Mom and Scaredy Cat... But I didn't want to make them run off to take a closer look. So I snapped and backed away slowly!

It is starting to cool down a bit here. It has only been in the mid 90's all week. And the mornings have actually been nice. I am sure the animals are enjoying it! I know I am. That over 100 degrees stuff stinks! Common on FALL!

Hope you have a smile - Thanks for visiting!

Animal Crackers - HOT

Howdy -

HOT that is about it here... This last week we are making up for our nice June and July temps. We hit 108 one day this week. Animals have been staying pretty much in the shade.. and not doing much. They seem to be coming out and eating at night more than the day lately. So there were not too many wanting their photos taken.

Jorge - has a big tree that he likes to park under during the day. Good place to keep a watch on things, but still stay in the shade. Handsome Man for sure.

Found Darlene in her hut. She likes her hut. Spends afternoons  there. Soft dirt inside to nap in and she can still get a bit of a breeze there. Well when there is a breeze. This week it was more hot air. Poor old girl, she is tough... and smart stay in the shade girl.

When I went out to see if the ladies would let me take photos they were all out in the pen and hiding under the trees. But I did manage to get Hannah and her Mommy Bella to come up. A little head scratches and then they went straight to the water... drank a few gallons then went back out to the trees. Don't guess it was me they came out for -

They always move around like this. Mom Bella and then Hannah behind her. Only time they are apart is when Hannah is off playing with her buddy Juliet. Bella snorts and Hannah comes back. But honestly I think Bella thinks of it as babysitting her kid and lets her play... ha.

Inside... it was just too hot outside and it wasn't even noon yet. Chica was stretched out in the middle of the kitchen. Sweet little girl, she hasn't spent her normal time outside, she loves to lay outside and listen to all the animals. But this week, nope out do her business quick and then right back to the back door to go inside. AC is a wonderful thing!

Then one of the kitties... Ferrari. They love the window beds. Nice view, sunny spot but in the air conditioning. Perfect for napping. This is how Ferrari sleeps... yep she is comfortable in her home.

Sorry I went MIA for a couple of weeks. Things got crazy busy and I just checked out and tackled things that I needed to, and my photos slipped. I will do my best to keep on track. But here and there I just may have to let a things slide, hope you will forgive me. :0)

Animal Crackers - Summertime

Howdy -

Well we have made it to August. And it has been a nice summer so far. We have had a bit of rain and it really hasn't been nearly as hot has normal summers. Now hat I have said that we will probably break records in August...

The animals all seem to be happy and enjoying the weather.

Happy chickens clucking and scratching around their coop.

I went in to talk to the goats. We don't have many goats now. Since we decided to downsize the goats it is not as loud in their pen. Little Penelope really has become so friendly. And now will come right to me. Love this pretty little girl.

And Chipmunk has really gotten calm since he is not the only male in the family.

He loves just laying in the shade chewing and chilling... he will come to the fence and get head scratches and is just so mellow now that he isn't competing for attention. We miss is brother but it is nice that Chipmunk is getting his share of attention.

Last week I showed our "Three Stooges" the three standard donkeys that are always together. I love that this week I got a photo of our "Mini Three Stooges"

Lacey, Vicki and Pepita - always together here they were cleaning up the last of the bit of hay that had blown around on the ground.... Don't waste a thing!

Had to show off Hubby's Purslane flowers this week. WOW they were going nuts! God's rain water and lots of sun and they were very happy!

Hope you have a very blessed weekend and hope you have an Animal Crackers smiles!
