Cute Kitty -

Finally Friday. Whew it has been a long week! And today's card is for the Cute Card Challenge but also says a lot of how I feel! This week Cute Card Challenge is to use Cats or Dogs on your card.

I have used this image before and I love it! But it is so large it is very difficult to do anything with. Made by Stamps by Judith I found it at a Scrapbook Convention and it just made me laugh, I stamped it out and colored.. ha if you call this one coloring, colored it with my Copics. I cut it as small as I could and doodled around the edges.

The card base is again from American Crafts and to give you and idea of the size of the image the base is a 5x7! I found a piece of Sandylion pattern paper that I liked called "One of a Kind Pink" has lots of unique names on it and fits this guy I think. The card stock that I matted the pattern paper and the image is new for me. It is by Core'dinations (I have been spelling that wrong in past post) it is from the Vintage Collection and it looks sanded but I didn't have to do anything to it. Cool huh? All though I get lots of satisfaction out of sanding and distressing papers =) I also added some baubles on each of the corners. Wasn't room for much more!

Because the front is so full I decided to copy the stack of papers and put the sentiment inside. It is also from Stamps by Judith. Love it... "Frazzled?" Yep that is me to a tee! Hope you like my little kitty!

Hurricane Ike... well looks like we are going to be spared here, probably will only see 40 mph winds at the most and some rain. I am very happy about that. But wow there is going to be some real damage and destruction to Galveston and Houston. The photos on TV are already scary.

Lovin' my Magnolia Savings Pail!

This is a new favorite of mine! It turned out just as I saw it in my head... and as I have stated before that rarely happens! I am sad the photos just don't show well. Man this thing was hard to photograph! Ok credits first... I got the idea for this from the My Favorite Things Stamps Gallery one of my stamping heroes... "Kittie Kraft" had made one with their stamps and it is just about the cutest thing! Thanks for all the Inspiration Kittie!

Well when cleaning out I found the empty prima flower pail. And started to use the same stamps and then thought no I want try and make a Magnolia Tin! Well this is what I came up with! I have been joking and saying it will be my Magnolia Savings Pail. But hubby says I will never wait to fill it with money to order from them again that is what credit cards are for! he he he ahhh so true! :)

Doing these scenes are a lot of steps but the end results are just so worth it. First you stamp the main images... the girls. then you stamp them again on scrap paper. Cut them out as finely as you can. With removable adhesive cover the main girls. The create the "background". Layering the trees, the grass, flowers and filling in the sky. I used lots of different small stamps to do all of this I love stump or peg stamps for this. If you haven't tried any of them they are rubber stamps on a long wooden round handle. Kinda like a large dowel rod. Stamps by Judith have a bunch of them and so does Rubber Stamp Tapestry. At this point you remove your protective scrap girls and then I colored in the girls with my Copic Markers. And stickled their wings. I cut down the paper to fit inside the pail, and placed inside. I tried a million different ribbons, flowers, buttons and anything else I could think of to decorate the outside of the pail. And ended up not liking any of it. The art was enough. It just makes me smile! Hope it does you too!

Magnolia Girls

Well I found a couple of little Magnolia Girls I had stamped and not colored in, that is just tragic! So last night I pulled out my copics and colored them in!





When cleaning out for the garage sale last weekend I found a package of Basic Grey Infusion that I had not even opened, so the first girl went with the pinks and browns of the paper. I had seen a sketch challenge on Splitcoast Stampers and this is a vague representation of it. I went to look for it to link, but can't find it now. Sorry. I matted the patterned paper on some bright turquoise card stock, used my petite oval nestibilities to cut the image out and then the darker brown card stock. I cut out pieces of some queen and co. felt flourish border, and then used some of my pink glass beads. The Thanks is from the Studio G dollar stamps. Stickled the wings, and added some gel pen dots and border.



The second girl reminded me of the weather lately. Spring is trying to blow in... no really blow in! The past week or so it has been sooooo windy here. I am dying for spring as you can see from the past few days cards. But there is a few weeks of the start of spring where the leaves are just starting to come in, the grass is beginning to greening up, and small flowers are popping up. And then there is the wind!!! Well this girl is standing in this beginning of spring. I didn't want to use any patterned paper, I wanted to try and create this feeling. I stamped the trees with a Stamps by Judith tree, then added the leaves with a copic marker, and the grass is a stump stamp from Stamps by Judith that I stamped over and over and over. I wanted the feel of wind. In my goodies from the LSS I purchased a small stamp by All Night Media called Airwave, I stamped it all over the card with my Versamark ink. Then added some extra fine glitter. It may be hard to see on the photo, but I really like how it turned out. The girl was added with some pop dots, then some prima flowers with stickles added to the grass. Again the hello is a Studio G dollar stamp. I think it did end up with the feel I was going for.

I entered this card into the Papertake Weekly Challenge, it was just pure luck that the theme this week and my making a weather card the same time! Go over and see the fabulous work from a very talented bunch of people!

Ever Have One of those Days?

This Card just fits so many people in my life... including myself. I have been going 100 mph for months, and this is what many days feel and what I look like!

Ok, this frazzled kitty stamp from Stamps by Judith has been on my shelf for months... I had to have it, I just love it. But it is a large stamp, this is a 5x7 card, and I guess it just overwhelmed me. But last night I decided I had to tackle it. Ok, coloring was not hard... actually it was just scribbling. I layered the different colors of card stock then a piece of scrap Cosmo Cricket patterned paper. I my glaze pens to "stitched" all the edges. I used pop dots to raise the Sentiments and to place a couple of buttons on the corner. I think this cat is just hysterical, and I am now very happy I purchased this kitty!

Another of my Magnolia stamps that I just love. But don't you just love them all, Michelle? YEP, I sure do! (Insert image of me hugging all my "little angel stamps". But then I got this adorable little sentiment from Cats Pajamas and they are perfect for each other. I layered a scrap piece of scalloped Bazzill Card stock, with a piece of Creative Imaginations patterned paper. I colored her with my copic markers then high lighted all the rain, puddles and her wings with stickles. I "stitched" around things with my Sakura Souffle pens. This one turned out pretty cute, I think I know who it is going out to... and I just love all the pink and purple!

Wishing Spring -

I am so ready for SPRING! Ok I know all of you from up north tell me that I have no right to complain. After all I am in Texas and I have no idea what winter is. But I live in Texas for a reason, I don't like cold. I am ready for warm green weather. My donkeys NEED some green grass to eat, we need some showers or it will be a dry year again. We own a plant nursery, that is what my husband does to pay the bills, support my addiction of stamps and feeding hay to our babies. We need spring. Spring is our time of the year. Plus I am really tired of these sinus headaches that I get with these cold fronts that keep coming. And that is what happened last night. I had a horrible headache so that meant no stamping. Yep it was that bad. So today I am pulling a card out of my stash. One I made that reminds me of spring. Warm, colorful and with flowers! Hope you enjoy my "little" bit of Spring. And it uses one of my favorite stamp companies again - Magnolia Stamps.

Well it is Friday and tonight and tomorrow are the weekend crop at my LSS. You know I will be totally honest. I have never liked cropping away from home. One I can't pack my collection and take it with me. And I never know what I will need and what creative inspiration will hit me. I feel limited and frustrated working away from all of my things. Two I am not a "night" person. I hate to drive at night and by 10:30 it is bed time, so midnight is really late! I use to love late nights, then we moved to the country and my babies are Hee-ing and Haw-ing as soon as the sun comes up wanting to be fed. (I will be honest here, Craig my wonderful husband, feeds them 99% of the time) But I do get up and get going and make sure his breakfast is ordered so he can pick it up on the way to work. HA! I do make breakfast if he is staying home. I actually love to cook.

Anyway back to the crop. I have come to look forward to them. I have a ton of fun! Some crops I actually do get a lot done, I think last month I did 5 layouts! Then there are a few crops where I spent most of the time just sitting there laughing so hard that we do not get much done but hey I have fun with my friends is important too- and usually my sister Melanie is there too and it is great being friends with my sister! Who would have thought that when that little pain drove me crazy as a child. (HI SIS!). So tonight is my crop and I will be gathering as much stuff as I can fit in my XXL Crop in Style and be off to have a fun night with the girls.

Today's card is actually one in my pile, didn't get to play last night. I love making 3-D flower cards, for any reason! These stamps I got from Stamps by Judith and she rocks at making stamps to layer. I used lots of Pop-dots and spent a lot of time cutting out each flower to give it some depth. I just love these stamps!

Oh one more thing- yesterday was a GREAT mail day! I got my order of stamps from Rubbernecker Stamps! So I have lots of new images to play with!
