Animal Crackers - Did you know it is Saturday?

Howdy -

Ok, I am not sure where all the days this week went but was it just me and the week was over before it got going! I was working like a crazy woman yesterday, just ask Hubby, getting so much done for the Doll show today. And I got everything done and sat down to enjoy some facebook, blogs and emails. When Hubby looked over at me and said "When did you take you photos for Animal Crackers today?" Being that I was so calm and relaxing he assumed that I had done it all. My response... "Uh... what do you mean?" He looked at me and grinned... then it hit me. OH NO!!! I forgot to take photos!!!! Never even thought for a second about it being Friday, the day before Saturday!!! LOL  So today's photos are from my files from last weeks photos... sorry about that but there were a few cute ones that should be shown. And then I found two on my phone from recently that I had not shown... so I do have a little to show you... Whew....

I took this one with my phone last Sunday. I have been trying for month to get a photo of the this guy to show you -

No we do not have Cows. But the neighbor up our road does. We pass by them coming down our long dirt road. We saw this cutie the day after he was born and I just fell in love with him. I named him of course. Then a few days later saw our neighbor on the fence and made sure to tell him I named him. First he rolled his eyes at me. As to most ranchers you do not name "livestock"... He doesn't know me very well yet... LOL I said well I name everyone on our property. That way they have a name and can never been eaten. Yes, he rolled his eyes again at Craig. LOL ... Then I explained that the new little one that had been born a few days before, he said yes he is a bull. Will be going to Auction as soon as he is big enough. I said well he has a name now. "ZORO"  He laughed and started humming the Zoro theme song. He liked it. And then he said Great if I tell my brother and the rest of the family they are going to want to keep him now that he has a cool name... Yea... maybe I saved Zoro! Don't know if he would really save him, as he is a real rancher and most everything at some point goes to auction... but maybe.  He is a really handsome dude isn't he?

Now this was zoomed to the max on my photo as this it a very tall tree on our property, and I really didn't want to walk much closer... Hubby hates this tree, but honestly there are so many things to do around here getting up into a huge tree to cut out this dead area is not high on my "Honey do list" Can't afford any broken bones. But now... well if these two show up again we may have to do something with it sooner than we thought. I don't want them looking over anyone in my "family" They are just creepy looking up there!!


Something beautiful now -

Miss Patti standing out in the "weeds" - I am so thrilled to see her looking so fabulous. We came so close to loosing her a year ago - For those that didn't read back then or you don't remember the daily life of each of my children. Patti was very ill and spent two weeks at the vet then three weeks here on strong meds and special food. It ended up that she had been bit by a Coral Snake. First one in 10 years we have seen on the property... and hopefully the last. She survived, filled back out, and now I VERY excited to share the news..... SHE IS PREGNANT!!!!  We put her and Ellie Mae in with Black Jack a few months back, main goal to get Ellie pregnant. Still don't look like that happened. Poor girl may never have a baby of her own. Anyway,  her at Patti are really close friends, I didn't want to take them away from each other. So Hubby agreed that we could let her in the pasture with Black Jack too. Whoo Hoo... a baby in the future!!! We may have a few more accidentals as we had a escapee a while back for a day or so... but this is a for sure... Patti will have a baby. I still need to do the counting to get an estimated date, but she is already really getting that baby belly!!

The outdoor kitties in the kitty condo. Ok, I'll try and splain this quick here.. Hubby brought home the stray cats from our business we sold last summer... they would not make it here just to let them go as they were protected at the business and really didn't now anything about coyotes and other predators. So Hubby built a Kitty Condo with a large outdoor area for them. Two of them are very friendly and then there are three that we hardly ever see. They are Momma Cat and her two "kittens" that are now full grown. They are Fraidy Cat and Scaredy Cat. All of the cats were strays that they took in and fed and gave a safe place to live. Now they have really great sheltered lives and seem very happy in their private estate. Now a year later.... Momma Fraidy and Scaredy actually will let us get up to the pen, and sometimes even talk to them a few minutes before they run for cover. Who knows another year from now we might get to pet them!! LOL anyway I am 90% sure this is Scaredy Cat... all three look a lot alike, Momma has more spots than stripes... and Fraidy's eyes are a little darker. But who knows...  If you are wondering why her ear is clipped. The city has a program for the stray cats. You trap them, get them to them and they will give them shots and fix them for a small fee. After lots of can food and trapping all the cats in the area of our business had been done thanks to my BIL and SIL. Great program.

Alice and Guinea Girl -

You can see that the Guinea's have gotten pretty big. They are full grown and very happy in the goat pen. This one I call Guinea Girl... she I think .. LOL they look so much alike. She I think is the "Momma" guinea. The one that keeps checking on the eggs and sitting on them. Poor thing... we haven't had the heart to tell her they will never do anything. We have now started taking them away a few at a time.  I am trying to convince hubby that we need to find a "boy" for them. Doesn't take much convincing.. he would love to have a whole bunch of them. They do have a good purpose too... we have noticed that they are really taking care of the bugs, so they are good to have around. Heck they are good to have around just for the giggles, they crack me up.

Well guess better get the day going and the Doll Show!  I will try and shoot some photos to share with you - Have a great Saturday! Sorry there aren't too many photos this week, but I made up with lots of rambling stories right? HA !

Pattie Says... HELLO?????

Ha! She is feeling so much better now! Especially since she has put back on her weight she lost when sick (and probably a few more pounds) - She is back to her friendly happy funny self!

Speaking of ears....

LOOKIE... here is Coffee! As a baby we called him ears, his head has finally grown in and they seem to fit better... still really long though. He is Patiie's son, we purchased them together years ago. Coffee now belongs to the neighbor... yes the one that moved and I told you loaded up all the horses and donkeys and took them to their new home. Well Coffee and his buddy Toffee - they decided that they were not quite ready to leave Texas yet and gave us some problems getting into the trailer the day we were loading up everyone. So we are donkey sitting them for now and they are living with all the Ladies. (Its ok... they are "safe" to be in with them)

Really she has really gotten so much skinnier. She has put back on just a few pounds with all of the neighbors grass the past month. But she is a healthy weight now. She was VERY wide before. Pregnant looking when not wide. She may be our "old lady" at nearly 20, but she is looking great!

Such pretty little gals aren't they? Angelina is one of our oldest babies. I think she is getting close to 5 now.... soon hopefully we can get her in with Raffie and have a little one of her own. She is a clone of her Mom, Macie and her little sister Felicia is a clone of both of them. Can't wait to see what "Lina" gives us.

Speaking of "sitting" .... Have I introduced you to Chevy before? I can't remember....

 Chevy is like family - well he really is family to the three outside dogs. He is their "Daddy"... Chevy lives down our road just a little ways. This dog has the most personality of any dog I have ever met. We were "watching" him earlier in the week while his family was out of town. The outside doggies love playing and running from our farm, to the neighbors, then to Chevy's house... then back again. Of course running all around and between the donkeys while doing it. I was trying really hard to get him to smile for the camera. This dog has the greatest smile ever - especially with those ears. Seriously he totally smiles!

Niner one of his kids... he can sort of get a smile going....

So whats up today? Us... we are going to be running around crazy getting ready for the Antique show next weekend. Yep... we have signed on for a Booth in an Antique Mall starting November 1st. And then we signed up for two different towns Antique Shows - Next weekend then another town second weekend of November! We are so excited... not quite ready... but excited! LOL I'll make sure to take lots of photos next Saturday at the start of the show so you can see our booth! ;0)

Animal Crackers - Ready for my Close up

Hi! Animal Crackers day. I got quite a few shots this week while outside working. Don't tell Hubby... as I am suppose to be holding or waiting for him to return with a tool... and I do from time to time wander off to talk to a few of the children.. oh and snap a few photos.

I showed this on my Facebook page this week... I have laughed every time I see this photo...  I was trying to get a photo to show the size difference between Bobby and Hank. Bobby has been sold already, but we still have him waiting for his new home to be finished.

I will be perfectly honest. If they don't come back soon... I am going to be so attached to Bobby I won't be able to let him go... Really he screams personality with those huge ears, big eyes and pink nose. OH and I love that little black spot on his bottom lip. And Hank... well you know Hank will never be going anywhere - he is my little joy. We have been discussing keeping him for a future Buck. :0) Can you imagine lots of little Hanks and Hankettes in the future!

Speaking of close ups... Tuco has started his terrible twos... he isn't posing this week. Nope he actually got a little spanking this week - totally tore another corner of the wall apart. Darn good thing he is so cute...  He was more interested in getting close for attention than a good photo this week.

I did get a great one of Libbie! This reminds me of a 1970's photo... Why do I want to start singing have a Coke and a Smile?

Ok.. I know I am a dork, but I see those 1970's lounge around in the grass Coke commercials  - She sort of looks like she is smiling... man I wish I knew what she was thinking about.

Dogs... Here are "OUR" dogs... these are the neighbors dogs that we take care of. They use to actually LIVE next door. But now.... well they live with us now.  There are three of them, two sisters and a brother.

Nally -

I love all three of them really I do... but Nally and I have a special bond. I named her... she was a teeny little thing, and she was so sweet and had the calmest adorable personality... Her beginning formal name "Personality"... and then she just fell into Nally - She sleeps on my front door mat every night :0)

Then Moxie -

Moxie usually sleeps just out from the front porch, or under the house. I don't have a clue how many times Hubby has fixed the hole in the under penning of the house... Moxie.. she insist on a door to get under  - We don't get mad though, all you have to do is call her over, she is super loving, and I SWEAR... she has the funnies smile you have ever seen. I have tried to catch it on camera and haven't yet.. but I am going to keep trying.

Then Niner -

The "big brother" He is the most active of the three. The most obnoxious too. But only because he is so friendly. If you watch him during the day, you can see... he makes the rounds. Check the front of the property... the gate... MIL house... the Barn... each pen... And also the neighbors. Then at the end of the day - he sits out in front of the house. If there is any noise, he barks. Yes. Took me a while to not want to throw things at him and get use to it. But he thinks he is guarding us all, so you have to give him some credit. I don't care what time you look out there, most of the time he is sitting up or at least laying with his head up listening and watching.  Well unless it is raining or cold... then he takes cover under the house with Moxie... and barks from under the house at every noise he hears... just lovely....

You see... under the house it echoes in the house, and then that starts Libbie barking, then Chica... then Tuco and then finally Autie has to get up and give a few barks just so he doesn't appear to be lazy. It is so much fun to live in my house.

I use to totally freak about the dogs being here. Donkeys do not like dogs. And I just knew that they would get trampled. But I think they have made peace with the donkeys. They stay clear of them... and the donkeys leave them alone. But once in a while there is a little tension.

Nally wants to cross the little boys pen... Ramon is saying no, go around. They stood like this for minutes... Ramon is young, and doesn't quite have the respect yet....

Since Nally is standing her ground and not going around... Sergio decides to let her know his opinion on her crossing his pen.

Yea... don't mess with Sergio.... She decides that going around is the best thing to do.  Now Sergio is a good big brother, he didn't let Ramon know it was his look that did the job. Ramon thinks he was in control... :0)

Then one more photo... Hubby just had fed dinner. And the donkeys usually always break up into the same groups to share piles. These four share really well together and don't argue over dinner.

They are always in their pairs... but these two pairs are good together. All sweeties -

Hope you enjoyed this week. A little different photos - LOL  It has been a hard week around her. Most of our time has been with the goats. Selling... Separating... Weaning... and now breeding. It is VERY loud out there.  At any one time someone is calling out - it is starting to quiet down just a bit. Some cuz they are getting use to things.. and two some of the loudest have lost their voices. Just kills me... Right now Gidget and Vera both are totally hoarse. They sound awful! A day or so and they should be back to normal tones.  Now that things are settling down I hope to get some good photos of the goats this week... the babies are really starting to show their colors and personalities - and the Moms are trim and look good. We will see if they let me have a good shoot one afternoon.

Have a wonderful weekend.... Today is clean up day. And also working on a few more goat houses. Always a lot to do here! Sadly there is always a long to do list, that never has a ending. But we do love it.
