Fintastic!

I knew as soon as I saw this Saturated Canaries image I HAD to have it! Made me laugh as soon as I saw it! Now the "Da Nuh" that was my addition... it fits the inside of my card :0)

You did see that there was  shark right? Oh wait we are mostly girls,.. so yes we saw it. LOL this image really just cracks me up. I will be really honest here. I started this card last week for the last challenge, but with all the animal emergencies I just didn't get it finished. But then I saw the new challenge and well... this one still fits! I have LOTS of Bling on this one! LOL

I used DCWV Denim Jeans collection for my papers. Love the real look of the papers. I sewed a couple of them together with a different stitch... I think it goes well with the image as well. I used a Whimsy Double scallop die and then added LOTS of red and clear adhesive bling around the circle. A red satin ribbon around the middle.

Now I know you have been waiting to see the inside right? I used just one piece of the pattern paper from the same collection and then a computer generated sentiment...

Ok, I thought it was funny? Would be perfect for that 30th, or 50th birthday don't you think? LOL

I am a little warped from time to time sorry :0)

So I am going to add this to the Saturated Canaries Challenge this week - Their challenge is to Bling it Out!

A Saturated Canary - Wendy

Had some fun with another Saturated Canary - it was so hard to decide which to get that first order, and then the second order I still had so many on my list. But I narrowed down and Wendy was a must. I had seen Bev's card done with her and just fell in love with it. Wendy is gorgeous, but the puppy is what sent me to make sure she was in my cart.

Here is my first card with Wendy and her adorable puppy -

Now it is rare that I color and have no idea at all what paper I want to use. But this time, I had colored up Wendy a few nights before, as therapy....  Then sat her to the side until I had time to make a card. So I had this gorgeous girl all done in bright blue and then had no clue what I was going to do with her and papers to use. I went through lots of papers and nothing felt right at all. 10 million papers and nothing. So I sat her aside again. Then I came back to her late last week - I had come across this piece of pattern paper from DCWV "The Four Seasons" Glitter stack.  This is one of those collections of paper that has been on my shelf forever. I have never used a piece out of it. I fell in love with it while at Michaels one day, probably had a 40% off coupon that I needed to use and went with it.

Honestly it is gorgeous, but the patterns are so large it is hard to use with cards. But this piece... well I decided that Wendy should be sitting in these large flowers and the huge butterflies could be flying around her. So a cream colored base card stock. Then a dark brown and burlap pattern paper from Glitz. Then the blue is the DCWV. I took a second piece of the dark brown pattern paper and created an iron fence with the Martha Stewart corner/border punch. I love this punch set and just don't use it enough. Then the glittery section of the pattern paper - I cut out the butterflies from other sections of the paper -

Everything is sewed together with a simple straight stitch. A piece of gingham brown and white ribbon tied around the middle. Then Wendy -

She was colored with my copics and then s bit more shading with pencils. I cut her out loosely - and then glued her into the center of the card - sitting among those gorgeous glitter flowers.

This is one of those cards that I have left "blank" for the sentiment. It could go for so many things and I think I will wait until the need to decide what it should be.

The inside is done as well - copied close to the front and left blank.

So this card was for fun - just to play... but lets see what challenges it qualifies for this week :0)

There are more I am sure... I get lost seeing all the fabulous challenges out there! And all the talent from the Dt's.. a click to the challenge, then clicks to the DT blogs and then links on their pages and then I can't find my way back to where I started :0) But I see lots of pretty things on my way!

Me... I just noticed the time, and gotta stop surfing and get a bottle made up and out to Sandy my baby goat....  Then I think I am going to call it an early evening. Yesterday I cooked my brain. Seriously, I was out in the sun too long with a lady wanting to buy a goat... it was really hot. I thought I had stayed in the shade most of the time, but it was 100 degrees... and this gal, well she ain't use to the heat at all. After a couple of hours I started to feel odd... nauseous, weak legs, dizzy, and my head felt like it was bubbling inside. Ding... I was done. I came in an drank a gallon of water and then couldn't do a thing the rest of the day. I was so sick feeling and dizzy I couldn't even color!!!!  Today... I have still been feeling a bit weak, but have drinking lots of water and stayed 99% of the day in the air conditioning, no doing much at all, I am good just being cautious for a couple of days. Hubby will have to do most all the outside work... LOL like I do much anyway... well other than hello's loving and holding the water hose from time to time. Oh... and feeding my baby... which I need to do and stop rambling....   Oh BTW... we sold two more goats yesterday so it was all worth it. Mel and Bobby will be going in a few days to a lady that is going to spoil them rotten. She has always wanted a couple of goats.. just for lots of lovin' :0) -

Saturated Canary Challenge - Bookmark

Hi - Today for my post I am showing a Saturated Canary :0) Love Love Love playing with these cuties! The challenge this week is to make a bookmark. Now mine is "technically" a bookmark, all be it a large bookmark... Ha!  I was just playing away at what I liked and then as I was putting it all together I realized that it was a tad large. I think 5X6.75 inches? Is that too large?  Oh well as long as it can hold a place in a book right?

Here she is -

My pretty little lady is "Canary Love" I just love her, I so wish I could pull off wearing clothes like that! I colored with my Copics, then shaded with pencils. My tag - I used Papertrey Ink card stock, the light grey card stock I punched with a Martha Stewart set. I think this is called something like double loop? I sewed a piece of pattern paper with a blanket stitch to the blue/green card stock. I was really confused on how to cut out my image. If I did it square it really covered too much of the pattern paper, so I ended up just cutting very loosely around her and the bird. I inked the edges of everything for a more vintage look. I sewed three pieces of ribbon to the top. You have to have something stick out the top of the book right? then for just a bit of vintage bling I added six dots of Viva Decor Pearl Pen. Can't have much dimension at all to fit in the book... so I was limited on embellishments.

Ok.. Monday... better see what my week is and get things going for the day. One thing I bet I will be doing is sitting in a tractor... Hubby has to work on one today, dumb thing has a safety (yes it is important to have) But in order for him to work on it and start it someone has to be in the seat. And it is too much for him to climb in and out of the seat and work on the engine at the same time... So I see myself out in the middle of the pasture where it stalled doing the all important job on keeping my rear end in the seat so he can do what he needs to... I think my iPad wifi might just reach out there... hmmmmm maybe I can surf the web while holding down the seat???? LOL

Whispy Fairy - Another Saturated Canary :0)

Hello - told you I was loving these Saturated Canary images! This one was so fun to color, any image you can add Stickles to is a wonderful image!

Her name is Whispy - Isn't she pretty?

 I colored her with my copies - and the cut her out with a Spellbinders Skinny Oval. And then the Stickles! I gave a heavy coat to her wings and to the bottom of her skirt. Really does sparkle in the light!

Then I went to work on my card  -

 A white card stock base- deep purple card stock mat, and then a second mat of Papertrey Ink light green card stock. Just love purple and green, this is a little different shade of green for me to put with purple, but I think it still works. The pattern paper is from KaiserCraft - Lilac Avenue Collection. This pattern paper has a sparkle to is too :0) - I then cut out a CheeryLynn Designs die, Victorian Romance Flourish. It is a large corner flourish. For my ribbon. This was a piece of cream colored seam binding, I used my Copic BG10 and colored so it would match. I tried a purple one first, but I didn't like that... this color seemed better. I glued down the flourish and the oval at the same time so I could layer it correctly. Then I found 5 Prima flowers - then for just a little more bling, I added tiny purple rhinestones around the oval.

I then used scraps and another pattern paper from the KaiserCraft Lilac Avenue collection to decorate the inside -

I so looking forward to the new Saturated Canary store to open... it should be really soon!

My first Saturated Canary... but not last! :0)

That darn BEV!  She has done it again! :0) Don't get me wrong, I love this gal. But darn it... she has enabled me again! :0) I saw her cards with the Saturated Canary images and I was over the moon! We have had LONG discussions about images that are "out of proportion" some of them just really freak me out. Some are cute, and I use them and like them. But while messaging the other day she told me that I would LOVE these Saturated Canary images. Yea Yea... I went and looked and Crud... she was right! :0) I filled a cart up on my first visit then sat in front of my computer for a day waiting for them to be emailed to me. And now a brand new site is coming I am going to be broke for sure now.

So Bev... if only I was this cute... this would be me too you ...

I loved this image as soon as I saw it. I usually do go towards the silly ones. This cutie is called "FrizzyJinz" I colored with my Copics. Then I made my card.

The Saturated Canary Challenge this week is asking for May Flowers - So I found some KaiserCraft Papers called Charlotte's Dream with pretty peach colored roses. I stacked up a few of the patterns and zig zag stitched them together. 

Now I think I printed my image just a little big, but no way was I wasting it, so I made it fit :0) The sentiment is from Stampabilities. And the border around it is Papertrey Ink. That sentiment just seemed too perfect for her don't you think? I added a CherryLynn Die Cut flourish and leaves, with some peachy colored mulberry roses. Then for a little bling I added dots of Viva Decor Pearl Pen in Salmon color.

I did the inside too... And this Stampabilities sentiment was also perfect - so I used it on the inside with a Memory Box die, and more KaiserCraft papers sewed together.

Can't even tell you how much fun I had with this one. I really have been coloring and playing quite a bit lately. MoJo is going on full speed I guess. I have been cleaning my craft room and moving things all around the past two days. I have suddenly gotten a large 8x8 ft closet in my craft room to use, that was storage for my job until now, and have decided now was the time to totally sort and reorganize my space. Oh the goodies I am finding that I forgot about! With doing this and moving a lot of my crafting stuff into the closet I can now focus on "decorating" my room more. And I can't wait to find more fun "antique" things to put into it!
