Whimsy Digital Stamps - West Highland Terrier

Howdy -

Another new Whimsy Digital Image that is just precious if you ask me! This is the new West Highland Terrier by Crissy Armstrong. Don't you just want to pick this little cutie up?

I found some scrap papers that I just loved with my little Terrier. I think they are Graphic 45 and Making Memories. I sewed down the layers with a zig zag stitch with a kraft card stock base. I colored my little Terrier with Copics and pencils (colors below) Then cut out with a circle Spellbinders Nestie. Inked Ranger Inks distress ink around the edge and then matted with a scalloped Spellbinders Nestie. A couple of Vine Dies, the sentiment is pawsitively perfect with this cute little doggie. "Think pawsitive"

Whimsy Digital Stamps Challenge - Two or More Images

Howdy -

Today is the Whimsy Digital Stamps Challenge - Monthly challenge for the Whimsy Digi Team - and this month is a great one! To use more than one image. I had some fun with two of Crissy's Digis... one of which is one of my absolute favorites...

Now Scarecrow and Friend is a great image... but I can imagine you know that the other is one more "me" - This is Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Love this adorable little one! 

Now I used Photoshop to merge my two images into one - then I colored with my Copics. (colors below) I cut it down to fit into the Double Scalloped Square Die from Whimsy. A fabulous die that is perfect sized for cards. I used Kraft card stock with papers from Simple Stories Legacy collection. The sentiment is a tab also from Whimsy Stamps. A ribbon some MS leaf punches and mulberry roses for embellishments.

Inside more of the same papers but I decided to take advantage of the lined pattern paper for the inside to be able to do some writing.

Whimsy Challenge and new Release!

This week the Whimsy Challenge is also showing off the New October Digital Release! I fell for the new "Wolf Friend" image.

I colored with my Copics - isn't he handsome?  (colors below) I found some papers that I though matched up with the wolf. My Minds Eye I believe. Not sure scraps. I die cut out a Happy Birthday from the Birthday Sentimentables Die set - love them! Added ribbon -

Whimsy Stamps Challenge - Monochrome

Back for my second post today - High Hopes Jolly Holiday New Release Blog Hop is below -


Today is also the Challenge over at Whimsy Stamps!
The Challenge is Monochrome colors -

I used one of Marika Collins Collection images - Savannagh - And LOTS of RED!

I colored with my Copics - colors below - went for lots of rich colors - I then found papers with red to them and red card stock to create the monochrome pattern. I went for some red ribbon... OH my the shock!! I am out of solid red ribbon!!! Oh well pulled out some white seam binding satin ribbon and colored with a dark red Copic!  Yea Red Ribbon! Then I went to town with Martha Steward leaf punches, tiny flower punches and Whimsy Layered Flower Dies!  Love them, and you need to pop over to them HERE and order some... they are on sale right now!!! Tell them Michelle said you had to get them. :0)

Whimsy Digital Stamps Challenge - Back To School

Howdy -

Well it is almost that time - Back To School. I went down the school supply isle at the store the other day. Did I need anything? Nope. I just love seeing all the new supplies. Things are very different from when Mom purchased my supplies just a "few" years ago. And no kiddos here to buy for, but it is still fun to see all the new tools of school.


It did inspire me for this months challenge at the Whimsy Stamps blog - Here is the new Digital image from Lia Stampz Vintage Girls - "News Girl"

Now I know she isn't a real school image, but I think she is just too funny and looks sort of like a teacher sitting up there doesn't she?

I colored with my Copics (colors below) and then found some very old papers in my stash from October Afternoon that work perfectly for the challenge. Kept it simple as the papers do have a lot going on. Just some little dots of Viva Decor again...

Love this happy guy! I colored with my copics and then went back and did more shading with pencils - Just felt like it needed more richness to it. Papers from Graphic 45 are perfect with the fall theme. I sewed and attached everything down, then I saw a Whimsy Digital sentiment that seemed PERFECT for him!  This is from the "City Talk" collection - This one isn't "city" but it works doesn't it? LOL  Then some Viva Decor Paper Pen for those fake brad looks.

Whimsy Stamps Challenge - Summertime!

Howdy -

Today the Whimsy Stamps Challenge is Summertime. My image made me smile and I think has a summertime feel to it -

This is "Hula Crab" - by Miss Rach Digi's. Love it! Makes me smile and want to do a little dance!

I colored with my Copics (colors below) and then I printed out out the Summertime Sentiments from Whimsy and then colored up the Fun in the Sun with the same colors.

My papers are DCWV - have lots of color to them, and I took the doodle sewing from the pattern paper and did some doodling around the image and sentiment to match. A orange dotted ribbon around as a band with a bow, and then three dots of Vivia Decor black Paper Pen. Love that stuff. Then I decided that the sand the Crab is dancing in needed some life. So I used Diamond Stickles on it.

I just fell in love with the new "FISHING PEGUIN" -

Colored with my Copics (colors below) and then found some older My Minds Eye papers - I added some of the Whimsy Decorative Tapes you can find them HERE first I used some fun Wafer Tap that looks like newspaper, then I pulled out some of the adhesive Lace ... was too light so I colored with a Copic. Then I dotted some little dark pearl with a Viva Deco Pen in brown. Love that stuff!

The sentiment is also Digital Whimsy - from the Get Well Soon Sentiment Collection.

Whimsy Stamps Challenge Tic Tac Toe!

Howdy -

This week over at the Whimsy Stamps Challenge there is a game on! We are playing Tic-Tac-Toe!

I had some fun with one of the new LiaStampz images "Summer Girl"

 I went for Top across on the game board and did Summer Lace and Pearls! I colored up my image with my Copics (colors below)... then cut out with nesties - Found some bright older K&Company papers that had a summer but feminine feel to me. Added some Whimsy Adhesive ribbons for my Lace box. Then added LOTS of pearls! Wanted to make sure I was good for everything. Then my sentiment ... just to make sure I got the Summer box checked off I added a sentiment from the "Summertime Sentiments"

Whimsy Stamps Challenge - More than 2 Dies

Howdy -

Challenge time at Whimsy Stamps and this month the challenge is to use 2 or more dies on your project. Well that is a great reason to clean off and find my Die Cutting Desk isn't it? Oh my took me half and hour to find my Big Shot Pro... and that sucker is really really large! But now I can see it and I actually used three die cuts on my card! Whoo Hoo!

Here is my project -

I used Lia Stampz new image called "Flower Girl" - isn't she pretty? I colored with my Copics after matching her up with some papers from Graphic 45. Then I went to find some dies to use -

First I pulled out "Double Scallop Doily Die" - very girly! Then I die cut out the sentiment "Happy Birthday" that is a part of the Sentiment Die collection  - LOVE This set!!!   But then I found a new die that I purchased a while back and it was still sealed up and not used. Well how sad is that?? So I opened it up and used three different papers to cut it out - The "Bird Cage Die Set" Now when I think about it... I used four little dies within this set.. the cage, the two birds and the vine... so does that make my total SEVEN die cuts now? LOL Oh well Seven or Three... over two and I am happy with the end results!

Whimsy Stamps Challenge - Anything Goes!

Howdy -

Today is the Monthly Whimsy Stamps Challenge and this month it is an Anything Goes Challenge. Easy this month huh? Was good for my since my brain is mush... and I a bit sore. You see... I am a klutz and with the no depth perception it adds to the accident prone dork that I am. Yesterday I decided to totally miss a curb. Right foot found it fine. Left foot didn't do so well with the height... So me, my drink and an ice cream went flying across the sidewalk, landed on my knee then hit the wall. Was so graceful let me tell you. OH no worries I am fine, could have been much worse and I could have broke something, but just some scrapes and bruises and old body aches. Hubby really worries about me and I tell him to stop I am just fine... then I go and do dumb things like miss a curb. Duh.... OH well I thank God I am not hurt too bad and now on with life.

As soon as I saw this image I had an idea for this card. A fast card that could really be versatile. This is Zebra Hugs from Miss Rach's Digital Collection

I loaded the image into Adobe Photoshop and printed it in a medium brown color. I printed onto a card stock matching the dotted pattern paper....

Now my thinking is, how darn cute would this be for baby shower invites? You could even do them in different colors, just match up the papers... print on pink with pink dots! I added a satin ribbon, then added some Viva Decor Paper Pen Brown Dots in the corners. Seriously fast card. And I love it.

Was so excited I forgot to photo the inside of it. oops.. But it is exactly the same as the front but no zebras inside.

How stinking cute and fun his this gal? She is by Lia Stampz and is called "Muffin Girl" - All her new Vintage Girls are fabulous! I colored with Copics (colors below) and then found some old papers in my stash that had that vintage feels. I layered it with lots of flowers, ribbon and then a Whimsy digital Sentiment called "Circle Silhouette Sentiments" I changed the color to match my blue matting and printed - LOVE that!

Whimsy Challenge - EASTER

Howdy -
Today is the monthly challenge at Whimsy Stamps! This month we are working towards our Easter Cards - you know cards with Bunnies - Chicks - Ducks - and well Easter Eggs! Anything that makes you think of Easter... me I went with one of my favorite Easter images from last years -

This is "Easter Ducklings" by Lia Stampz - love these cuties... I colored with my Copics then high lighted with stickles.

Stickles got a little wild... and bled just a little bit, but easter eggs have lots of color and well as a kid none of mine were ever perfect pieces of art... LOL

I used scraps of paper from my stash, and a piece of dotted satin ribbon. Then found some mulberry flowers in the same colors.
