Wanna see my CHA 2011 - Sarah Kay Clock?

Hello - thought I might show you the clock I made for the Stampavie Booth at CHA - I made this clock for with someone special in mind to gift it to after the show - (hope you are loving it Heidi!)

Now for the instructions on how I made this clock - you can follow this LINK HERE to my first clock I made last summer for the how too's on this project. Really easy to do... and very inexpensive! My clocks are from Walmart, and only cost $3.00!

The only difference in my clock this time is the stamps.. I used the brand new Sarah Kay images - loving these new Vintage Chic Sarah Kay's - they are just too gorgeous and fun! And so in style now!

I made this in one evening, other than drying time for that stickles around the buttons.. LOL I think this makes a great personal gift for that special friend.

Hope you like it too, and let me know if you try this out yourself!!

Me and My Space #13 - Decorative Boxes Hide lots!

Hello and welcome back to some normal! Today is Wednesday and that is my "Me and My Space Day!" Today I thought I would show you some of my pretty boxes. I know I promised to show off my Die storage before CHA.. but well...  they are a mess right now, I have been busy with them and re-organizing them to fit new things :0) So that will come soon.

So today I am going to show you the top of my left shelving unit...
The backside of my craft room is a bit lower in height so it makes my shelving units look really tall.. LOL The top of my shelves have these really pretty boxes. I love that they make me look really tidy and organized - even if I am not totally together. OH and I wanted to also show that I love to use vintage items for storage. I love kitchen tin items. This bread/cake box was an awesome find at a shop about a year ago. I think I paid like $10 for it. And it is perfect to hold those odd things that I don't like sitting out. Like that large staple tool I had to have and hate to use... and other tools that fall into that wish I hadn't purchased category and make me feel guilty to see out.

But back to the boxes. On top of this shelf is 6 decorative boxes that I purchased at Tuesday Morning. I think they are just too pretty with the butterflies and ribbons.

In these boxes are my not used to often items...

Clays and cutters for clay... went through a stage where I loved working with this stuff.. and making my own embellishments - some day I'll pull this out and do some more :0)
Quilling - this stuff is really fun - got hooked on it from a kit club that sent out a sample - and again love making these things as embellishments - one day I'll pull it out too... but at least I know if I want a quilled flower I have the stuff to do it!
Cuttlebug dies - and metal stencils - Need to look through this box and try and use more of these. I have had most of this for YEARS. And need to see what I have here that I my want to play with and may feel new to me.
This box is my fun foams, felt and hand made papers. No guilt here for having another "technique" I boxed up. I do pull from this box and use these items for current projects. :0)
Now this box I LOVE... I use to go to lots of estate sales and garage sales and I picked up lots of vintage ric rac and seam binding and such - really cheap... This box is my vintage goodies. And I love digging through this box!

And shocker here... the 6th box is empty and ready for me to organized in another area.  Yes... an empty box! Whoo HOoo!

Now I also wanted to show you a decorative part of my room... the little wall next to this shelf has a couple of my older handmade items.
The framed scrapbook page is one of the very last pages I did.  I made it at one of the last crop nights at the local scrapbook store before it closed.. sadly... this was a few years ago. The only reason I made the page was cuz I wanted to use the new Disney Cricut cartridge with Eeyore LOL.  And it was perfect for Diego our first baby donkey. He is a lot like Eeyore - a slow moving pudgie donkey that is totally lovable.

Below it is a scrapbook clock that I made for a class I taught many many moons ago. Love making these clocks but now with my stamps... (come back tomorrow and see my newest one.. wink wink... ) but this clock has photos in it of Hubby and the donkeys - all in Donkey Time you know! And it has kept running right on time for all these years - amazing considering it is only a 2.99 clock!

Well hope you liked to peek in my boxes. And seeing a bit more of my craft room. See you tomorrow with some new "time" -

Spoon Full of Sugar - Anything BUT a Card!

Love challenge that make me think a bit harder! And this week A Spoon Full of Sugar wants anything but a card. This was a good opportunity to use instructions I had found from Splitcoast that I  have been dying to try and didn't have the time - so this challenge made some time for me!

This is a Faux Leather Wallet! Love Love Love this! And it really wasn't hard to do at all! You can find the instructions HERE at Splitcoast Stampers. Now I didn't have the magnet to keep it closed, and thought about using velcro - but then decided I wanted my wallet to look a bit more girlie... so I used ribbon and tied a bow.

If you are interested in how to make this please see the instructions at Splitcoast.. as they are written very well and are easy to understand... but basically it is a brown piece of card stock embossed with a Cuttlebug folder - then once cut to shape you cover the outside of the card stock with clear embossing powder - really a cool look!! Hubby thought it was some type of leather at first :0)

When opened up you can see it has the accordian folder sides to expand, and it is sewed together with a pretty floral liner. I added an image to the front of my wallet, just had to make it that girlie looking wallet - and what is more girlie than a Sarah Kay image? This is Stampavie's new Sarah Kay "Fleur gathering flowers with Manon" Long name.. but beautiful image... ok so this is only part of the image.

I colored with my Copics and then cut her out with a circle Nestie. I couldn't find any card stock that matched well. So I cut a larger white circle and then colored it with my Copics to match the flowers. The ribbon is a satin ribbon from Papertrey Ink. And then I added six adhesive pearls for the corners. Just girlie enough I think!

Now pop on over to A Spoon Full of Sugar and see all the projects from the DT - Wowser!

Have a wonderful Tuesday -

It's been 24 years - Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day! I JUST LOVE VALENTINES DAY! You see it is a very special day in our house. A romantic day yes - Hubby's Birthday and it is our Wedding Anniversary!

Hubby wasn't great with remembering dates, and well.. we decided that it would be special to marry on Valentines Day - So 24 years ago today we were married.

I would love to say it was the best day of my life - but really it was just the start of many many best days. He is my other 1/2 and my best friend. We have been talking recently how much closer we are now than ever before. Maybe it was the accident that made us realize how special things are, maybe we are just happy in our settled ways - whatever I do thank God each day that this stubborn hard headed handsome man was sent to me - and that I was smart enough at that young age to know that he was the one for me. Yes I was young... only 19 when we married!! YIKES!

How mushy was that? LOL

Now want a really hard laugh?

How about that 1987 wedding photo? OH my can't believe I am going to show this! It really is a horrible photo, we didn't have a "professional" photographer... a friend took our photos for us.

Shaking head here.. AAHHH   I was so HOT and sweaty!! I was the first to use the churches new bridal room... and the first to discover that they forgot to put in air vents! Make up was sweaty and my hair fell.. but the important thing is that we were married and have lived happily ever after right?

Hope you enjoy your Valentines Day - we do the same thing each year to celebrate, yes.. very romantic... we go to the stock show and rodeo for the donkey and mule shows!!! Wouldn't that be what you do for romance? LOL ok that is what we do during the day, then we go out for a nice romantic dinner on the way home.

Have a wonderful day - me.. Donkey Days and my Hubby = a great day!

CHA 2011 - Wanna See some Scrapbook Pages??

Sorry I don't have a Dust It Off project for you today - been SUPER busy with work this week, and just haven't gotten totally back to normal schedule.

So I was thinking... I take lots of photos while at CHA of Scrapbook Pages while there. I started out as a "Scrapbooker" long long long before a card maker, or stamper. And I just love to stop and look at beautiful scrapbook pages - for me to awe over, and for my Buddie Tracey and my Sister Melanie to get inspiration for her books for their kids.

Sadly the people in my scrapbooks have not aged in my books for about 5 years... now for some of the adults they may like that... but my Nieces and Nephew have remained small children... LOL Maybe one day I'll find time to scrap again - but right now I am just totally happy in my stamping and card making -

But for those of you that still do Scrap - or that just love to admire pretty scrapbook pages... here are some of my favorites that I saw at the show. Can't tell you what booths or companies... I just snap gorgeous pages while walking by.... enjoy.... And for those that made these pages - hope you don't mind that I am sharing them... they were just to gorgeous to not!

 Told you... gorgeous huh?

Animal Crackers - Donkeys in the SNOW?? In TEXAS???

HI and welcome back to the routine post! I sure missed Animal Crackers post... I love going out and snapping photos of my "children" and sharing them.. hope you don't mind :0)

My photos that I am sharing today I took last weekend, just after I returned home from CHA. It snowed the night I returned... REAL SNOW!! We had a solid blanket of snow here at our place of about 1/2 inch, by the time I was alert and dressed to go out it was already melting - but still pretty for some shots!
When we got home from the airport.. at 4:30AM... it was a gorgeous solid white blanket of snow. We got out of bed around 8:30AM and got dressed to hurry out and see all the snow with the donkeys and well... it was already melting.. but seriously, my Texas donkeys were loving the cool weather and sun together -
A mid morning nap you could say - :0) Aren't they cute all resting in their little barn?
It was a very sad day for us, the day we took these photos - this was the day that Lola was so sick and we lost her. But we took a few minutes and had some love from Rosie. Rosie is now over 3 years old. And this little gal has been sick nearly every day of her life. We have had more than one tell us we should give up on her and let her go. She really was scary skinny more than once. But I thank God we are too attached and keep our faith in these little donkeys. Rosie is doing fabulous. She has not been sickly in a few months now, has put on lots of weight, and actually is mischievous and playful now. I hate to say she is all better and "healed" but we think she is...
Little bitty one was really wanting her photo taken. Her name is actually Josephine, but Hubby has always called her Little Bitty One. She is one of the smallest babies we have had and even though she is just about "full grown" she is still one of the smallest in our youth pen. Smaller than many of the younger donkeys. And she is just too sweet. She loves her 1/2 sister Rosie.. and shadows her most of the time.
How is this for a "Spot" family photo? LOL This is Raffie, our spotted Jack, he is Josephine and Rosies Dad too) With Vicki and their son Paco - Love these spots - I love the look of them - especially when they are grouped out in the pasture. Don't tell Paco... but this next week he is being weaned from his Mom, Vicki and will be moved into the new Boy's Youth pen. I hate the weaning time, so sad for me to hear the "baby" and/or the Mom cry out for a few days after you split them up. Sometimes it is both of them, sometimes just the baby. There are a few Mom's here that say goodbye at the fence and enjoy the peace - LOL
Wanted to show you a photo of Gato our cat I took ... She is so funny. She has a window lounge bed that looks into the back yard and Goat pens - she LOVES her bed... so much so that the cushion is in serious need of being replaced it is worn out! When she is in her bed and you come into the back part of the house, she will hang her head backwards off the bed and meow at you... She is really a beautiful cat - and most of the time a pretty good cat. She has a serious love of Mulberry Roses on cards... so we have had some serous discussions about her being on my craft desk.... but I still Love her, even when she turns a beautiful rose into a pile of goo -

Sorry no photos of the dogs this week... I need to work on some photos to show you Chica in her lanky stage, she is really adorably awkward looking. But they all need baths. It has just been so cold. But Autie is looking like a matted mess - so I think this weekend, the heat will be cranked up and Hubby and I will have to do a bath production line with all three of the dogs - Then I will snap photos as quick as they are dry and before they get into something!

See you  - HuGs!

Just Magnolias and Hanglars - A Sketch and a new product I am in LOVE with!

Happy Friday!!! I finally am feeling like I am back to my normal routine, somewhat. Lots of work going on here with all the new Stampavie Stamps arriving and going out - but life around me is back to normal. I am also getting back to some coloring and card making! That alone makes my life feel great!

Today is Just Magnolia and Hanglar Challenge, and today is a FABULOUS sketch. I really enjoyed working with this one and can see me using it again.. and again.
I had a lot of fun with the sketch and wanted to use some bright papers to help me warm up from all the cold around me! brrr.... Looking through some of my 6x6 paper pads I found the Pink Paislee 365 degrees, and realized I didn't know when I had gotten it or how long ago... just too sad, so I knew I had to use it for this one as it has lots of layers and the fun colors work so well together. Following the sketch I chose the papers and sewed the different layers - Then I had some fun with my "new product".... OH MY... I am totally in love with these!!!

Now the US gals here are gonna have to understand, these are really new for us here, and you are gonna have to do some searching for them at first... BUT I KNOW they are gonna hit the market with a loud BAM and really be VERY popular!
Ok, now at CHA the wonderful people at Letraset have blessed me with some of these markers after the show, maybe it was because I was drooling and whining on them? :0) And let me tell you about these markers... They are so fun to work with, and SUPER easy to use! My Copics have some serious competition.. Also because I got to play with Heidi's ProMarkers at the show... and you know I really like that fine tip... good thing those will mix with my current Copics.. cuz I know I will have to have those too in the future!

I love the look of watercoloring - just never been too great at it - but with these markers, just a bit of light coloring and then a water pen, and ta-da! And they come in so many pretty colors!

You can see I have been coloring up like crazy! You will see these on future cards :0) Right now I am just having way to much fun coloring! LOL

Now pop on over to the Just Magnolia & Hanglar Challenge and see all the wonderful cards with this weeks sketch!  I just love how different one sketch can look!!

HUGS see you tomorrow for Animal Crackers!
