Just Magnolias and Hanglars - Paper Piecing!

Time to play with some Paper Piecing for the Just Magnolias and Hanglars Challenge! I love to paper piece. Reminds me of playing paper dolls ;0) Dressing up Tilda in pretty dresses with pretty paper patterns!

I also took this opportunity to make a different type of card - I used my new Grand Nesties Labels 4 - These are wonderful HUGE dies. So huge I need to get the larger platforms cuz my little ones don't work... arghhh! So I just worked with what I had and cut 1/2 of each side of the die and then attached to a 6x6 piece of paper to make an unusual gate fold card. Does that make any sense?

A photo might help you "see" it - I cute the three larger sizes of the die - one card stock, then two Prima Pattern papers. Inked the sides of all of them. My Tilda is colored with Copics then cut out and placed on a Nesties Labels 13 dies inked. This is attached to the right side opening - I added Papertrey ink ribbon and mulberry roses for embellishments. And then that paper pieced dress!! Just love a polka-dot dress don't you? Matches one of the pattern papers in my card.

The inside is done up too - All with Prima Papers -

That tag in the middle is part of the Prima paper stack, I just stamped the Alota Rubber Stamps Happy Birthday in the center of it. It was fun to do a bit different folded card - should do it more often - plain ole' square does get old huh? Habit mostly I think.

Now I hope you pop over to the Just Magnolia's and Hanglar's challenge and join us! It is my week to host, so I would love for you to pop over!

See you tomorrow for Animal Crackers!

Part of lots of Stampavie images on ONE Scrapbook page

For this Scrapbook page I used Four different stamps from Stampavie's Penny Johnson. Parts of four different images that is.

I ran across photos of an old house we owned years back. We loved this house. A historic home in the town we lived in, but very comfortable to live in. Unlike prior historic homes this one had things like a button that made cool air and heat come out of the ceiling :0) And a kitchen that had a working stove, and a dryer for my laundry!! These were all things we had done with out in prior homes we restored and worked on. But this house had it and all the old charm as well. It seemed like these photos appeared for a reason. Like a great opportunity to use four different images… well parts of four different images. I stamped out and cut out from the vintage collections – Garden Shelf, Intertwined, The Scent of Sweet Memories and then from Sarah Kay – I cut Finn out of his field of flowers.

This is an 8×8 scrapbook page. With a hand stamped flower bottom. All of my images are colored with Copics and then cut out. My Title and Information is all done with tiny bubble letter stickers.

Don’t be afraid to use PARTS of an image… then put them together with others. Really it makes your stamps go even farther!

I had so much fun making this page, and remembering this wonderful old house we lived in. Not that I would move back, cuz then I would have to give up all my animals!! AND I can never ever do that!

Have a wonderful Thursday! HUGS and-

Me and My Space - Winner - Stampavie Stamps and my Space

Hi - Thanks so much for all the ideas of future post for the Me and My Space post. Some I have already covered, but I am always re-working and re-doing my space so I am sure I will be covering them again :0)

One of the most requested is how I store my wood stamps. I am VERY fortunate to have a very handy Hubby and I have a wonderful wall of stamps - just in case you missed it in THIS post way back in November. Here is the photo again.
This is an older photo :0) Yes there are a few more stamps on the shelf. And they are two deep on the shelf. Other than trying to keep them sort of organized by brand, and holidays - they are just sort of up there... LOL I need to take them all down and sort them a little better, especially all those sentiments! But that task is just more than I can handle at the moment.

I will work on some post about how I sort my unmounted stamps, sorting dies, paper and such in the future. I love the idea of showing projects in the works... I'll try to do that as well... I just get going and forget to snap photos. And I will also show new things I get, new products and tools. One of my favorite things is enabling others LOL -

So lots planned for my Wednesday post - Please if you want to see anything new, or have a question about my Space just shout out in the comments!

Well do you want to know the winner of the two Stampavie Stamps now? Okey Dokey -

Random Number Generator chose number 12!!! ( I lost the link to it sorry... )

Spoon Full of Sugar - SPLISH SPLASH!!

Is it hot where you are? Well it is here, and this weeks Spoon Full of Sugar challenge is perfect for me right now. Splish Splash! Cool off with some water in any way on your card. Well not real water. LOL But to use have a water theme... swimming, bathing whatever has to do with water. Me I got the song in my head... Splish Splash - I was takin' a bath. And that was it. I had to make a bathing card...
And one of my all time favorite bathing images is Leere Aldrich's Bathing Beauty - totally order the little pooch popping out of the end of the bath! But hey you won't find me bathing with any of my dogs... they are way to dirty! LOL

I colored with my Copics - and then OF COURSE had to use stickles for all those glorious bubbles!

The paper is Websters Pages, and I just love the mirror and pearls leaning in the corner with all those roses. I though it sort of went well with this luxurious bather. I cut the edge of the mirror to slip the image behind it. Then layered a Papertrey Ink Doily die behind her. The sentiment.. which is sadly hard to see in the photo is from Melody Ross - It says - " Live a Good Life" - and I think soaking in a tub is a good start for that!

Now for some other more fun water themed projects make sure to visit Spoon Full of Sugar and then join us for a great prize again this week ;0)

Thanks for all the wonderful Comments about the new puppies! Libbie is doing wonderful, she is such a great Mom. It is so funny when she leaves them. We do have to run outside from time to time you know to do our business.... she runs down the hall - out the door - down the steps - out into the yard... fast fast fast... and then back in as quick as possible. BARKING the entire time so her puppies can hear her. LOL It is just too cute.

Have a wonderful Day - HUGS and-

My Stampavie Penny Johnson Vintage Bird house

Ok I have to admit this is one of those rare times where I am totally happy with the end result of a project. This Bird House just makes me smile. And I do believe I am going to have to make another one as soon as I can get another one at JoAnn's. This plain wood bird house was on sale, I don't think I even paid $5.00 for it. And take a look at it now.....
Again it just makes me smile :0)

There are three of the new Penny Johnson’s new Vintage collection stamps used. The Blossom Birds for the front and then for the back Chandelier and La Chaise – birds need great lighting and a chair to sit on too right?

The wood house is painted with plain cheap acrylic paint that I swear I have had for 100 years. Really shook it up well and it was ready to go. The corners and edges I rubbed just a bit of Distress Ink.

I then added a whole bunch of things from my misc. embellishments – Scalloped card stock for the roof, punched with EK Success Jumbo Scallop punch – Large Bling – Wooden Flourishes – Metal frames – Corners and Decorative Papers. This was so fun to make. Started out a really cheap plain wood bird house and then after a little paint and some fun I have one Styling Bird House!!

Here is the back -
Oh and the other side view -

Hubby asked what I was going to do with it. UH.... NOT HANG IT OUTSIDE....wouldn't last a week out there, this is a decorative bird house - just for shelf sitting and again making me smile.

Hope it made you smile too -

Libbie HAD HER PUPPIES!!

Yes ... Libbie had her puppies!!! Two adorable little girls that look like their Daddy :0)

Puppy one was born about 10:15PM... on me!! I was holding Libbie talking to her on our bed, she had been in labor for a couple of hours. And then BAM.... she had her! Guess Libbie feels safe with me huh?

Puppy One is a wiggler! She would not hold still for her first photo... She weighs in at 8oz!

Puppy Two seems a bit more calm. Must be that she was born just before 11:30PM and was tired from the long night. She has much more white on her face. She is a little chubbier - weighing in at almost 10oz!
I didn't take any photos of Libbie... she is a bit of a mess this morning, but is cleaning up well. And she is a super Mom!

I did snap a couple of other cute photos though.....

How is this for the concerned Big Sister? LOL Chica was so quiet and calm... standing up on the edge of the bed watching... totally adorable!
And of course Autie was the Proud Papa! He ran all around the bed barking and watching over Libbie. He even ran the cat off when she came in the room. Libbie was fine during ti all and was ok with them in the room - but we moved her crate up on the bed when she got close so the other two dogs wouldn't bother her, but could watch from a safe distance.

The whole family is doing great. We even talked Libbie into a really fast potty run this morning. She will not leave the puppies hardly at all.... the potty run was a must, and now she is bonding and loving on her two girls.

I'll snap more photos during the week :0)

Dust It Off Sunday - A Cocoa Bean Scrapbook Page

I "Dusted Off" one of my collected stamps. A Collected Stamp you ask? Well these are my stamps that I purchased as part of my Donkey collection. One day I am just gonna have to show you some of my Donkey collection aren't I? Anyway, I have a number of stamps that I have found over the years with donkeys on them. I get them as a cross market type of thing. Donkeys and my love of stamps. Today I decided to literally dust off one and actually ink it up!

This page started out with me trying out a new technique. I have been just dying to get and use some Gel Medium to do some image transfers. That Donna Downey :0) She has really enabled me to buy so many really cool products that I would have never even looked at, and now I am totally hooked on. And this Gel Medium stuff... oh my!! I am TOTALLY over the moon with this stuff. SUPER easy... I printed a photo of a sunflower I took a while back. Just printed it out normal on my ink jet printer. Tore it out of the page, then painted my piece of card stock the same size, laid the flower face down. Waited a minute or so... then carefully pulled it back up. Rubbed off with my finger the left behind paper and OH MY.. (I said that didn't I?) How cool is this paper now??? I then decided even though this was just my test for my first time use of the product that I couldn't let it go to waste. So I created a 8x8 Scrapbook page. :0)

My Standard Lady Donkey Cocoa Bean. She is gorgeous. Sewed things all together with a zig zag stitch, added a Papertrey Ink ribbon, Thickers Letters to spell out her name (really dusted these off as they were super old!), a few rhinestone flowers and then My Collected Stamp. I got this stamp cuz it really reminded me of Cocoa. It is from Wildlife Enterprises. I stamped it out with Cocoa Brown ink (appropriate) and then cut it completely out. Simple embellishment. And happy to have inked up this stamp.

Ok.. so you want to see the Gel Medium so you know what to RUN out and get? You can see it HERE on Donna's website. Totally in love with this cool product. I may try and transfer everything I print now! :0)

Hope you like my fun little page. Started as a scrap trial and ended up a sweet Cocoa Bean layout!
Have a wonderful Sunday... me I am sitting on total red alert watching for puppies -
