Whimsy Stamps - Hay Horsey and Whimsy E-Magazine

Howdy -

Ready for lots of inspiration? The Whimsy Inspired E-Magazine Issue 2 is ready for download! And I am honored to have a card inside :0)

Totally adore the new Crissy Armstrong image "Hay Horsey" I colored with my Copics (colors below) and then found papers from my stash of scraps, matched up with dark green/blue card stock and kraft card stock. I then used a scattered zig zag stitch around the image and the pattern paper. I folded the card stock to create an easel card so the image would stand up and show off! The sentiments Hay! and Happy Birthday with the balloon are part of the collection with the stamp! YEA love that! Some Mulberry roses and Martha Stewart Frond punch leaves to finish it off.

Here is the card standing tall.

High Hopes Stamps - Sweet Savior

Howdy -

It is Christmas in July over at High Hopes Stamps. I wanted to share a few of my favorite Christmas stamps that I use all year around. Think outside the box and get the most of your stamps! Love that!

This is Sweet Savior -

All though listed under the Christmas images I think this image has so many uses - I have used this for Easter, Baby cards and like this one a sweet note card. For sure a favorite image of me. I colored with my Copics (colors below) Then I added Ranger Stickles for the star and Gloss White paint for the sweet little lamb. The pattern paper is a Whimsy Pattern paper pad. I used White Bazzil Swiss Dot Card Stock and a light purple Cards Stock for the base. I sewed everything together with a straight and zig zag stitch. Simple but I think a great little note card for a friend.

Close up of the stickles and gloss paint.

Inside the card more of the same papers -

Fun to find a way to use our Christmas images for other cards.

Animal Crackers - Cool Off for the Holiday Weekend

Howdy -

Well this weekend is a holiday weekend. 4th of July here, not that we have huge plans for the day. Nice to stay home and just work on a few things around here. We have been on the go so much the last couple of weeks that home sounds nice. And my plans include inside things.... wow it has gotten warm (ok really HOT) here, that means time to find some shade and time to find ways to cool off!

To fight off any heat issues with the chickens we have put the misters into effect. These were new additions to our chicken pens last year. I lost a couple of chickens to the heat and don't want that to happen again. So Hubby added misters that spray into the pens in the afternoons when it just gets unbearably hot. A few of the chickens walk around the mist and enjoy that the surrounding air has gone done a few degrees with the addition of the moisture. Then we have a few chickens that just simply enjoy standing in the middle of it and soaking down! That would be my choice!

Hubby is going to lower the misters a bit and add one more for the bantams pen. They get some of the misting but he would be happier if they had a little more. It is really amazing how much cooler it feels in that area. They do love it.

Snapped a shot of Spot and Jet talking... these guys just make me grin ear to ear!

And they are so friendly it isn't even funny! Love them!

Found that the Guineas had claimed the largest shade under a tree in the pen. Poor goats have to find other shade.

Yes the Guineas are the controlling personalities in the goat pen. They make sure they are always in control and where they want to be. Most all goats take wide paths and let them be. Now once in a while one of the girls with think just because they are bigger they should take the lead, but those wings come out and puff up, head stretches out and they chase that girl goat off and tell them no no no! LOL it is really quite funny to watch and hear!

May have solved a little question with Miss Chica...

She has had an allergy or slight rash on her back end and belly that we have been fighting off and on. Lotions, Sprays, baths, changed food and was just not sure what was going on. She scratches like crazy and some days she is just raw, red and bumpy... well this afternoon I found her in the corner of their yard deep in the weeds. I think she is having an allergy to those weeds! Now maybe I can control it and maybe block off that section of the yard and see if she gets better. I hope!

She is a beautiful little girl isn't she :0)

And as we came back inside... Autie made it three feet in the door and plopped down and sighed....

"Mom it is just TOO HOT OUT THERE!" I know.... time for another hair cut for my baby boy. We have been so busy just haven't had time, but this weekend it is a must for my boy! That long fur coat is too much this time of year. But the cool wood floors did cool him off... Ha! That and a little crushed ice!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend planned with family and or friends! Make sure to hug a furry friend too!

Whimsy Stamps - Summer Buttercup

Howdy -

I just LOVE coloring Elizabeth Bell images... I guess it is my girlie side that loves those sweet cute little girls and boys that make me so happy. This card is "Summer Buttercup" and being a Texas gal I just love those Heart Boots!

I colored her with my Copics (colors below) and found some papers from Dovecraft Curiosity Corner collection. With a dark brown mat and cream colored card stock base. I cut out of the pattern paper the roses and lace border. Sewing down all the layers. I used Ranger Distress Tea Dye Ink around the edges of the image and the pattern papers. Then five dots of Viva Decor Pearl Pen in the top corner.

Inside more of the same collection of papers.

And my Copic colors used -

High Hopes Stamps - Lil' Swinger

Howdy -

This week for High Hopes I went with one of the new images "Lil' Swinger"

She just makes me smile... I feel a cool breeze and enjoy the swing with her.

She is too precious, I colored her with my Copics (colors below) and then sewed her down to some papers from Papermania Lucy Cromwell collection. I sewed all the layers with straight and zig zag stitches. I then added the great High Hopes Sentiment "Just Because"  This is one of my favorite new sentiments, I use it on many of my cards. Great for any card just to send a smile.

I then added a X-Large Martha Stewart Leaf punch with some little punched flowers. Simple but I like it.

Inside the card more of the same papers.

Animal Crackers - All Greens Diet doesn't always make you skinny

Howdy -

Went out to see one of the pens of boys yesterday.  I really had to have a talk with them. Might need to visit one of those weight loss clinics with my guys! You see with all the rain last month we have had a blessing of lots of grass growing. Starting to die out now with the heat but everyone has had lots of grass to enjoy this summer compared to all others. And well it is showing that they are eating so well ... these boys look like they are carrying a few babies! LOL

Yes this Jorge one of my boys... now remember these guys are short legged, so it makes the proportions of weight look a bit off sometimes...  but seriously Jorge... a little physical activity may help... Not that I should be talking at all! He is such a love you just can't be upset with him no matter what!

Pavo approached me next, Now in reality Pavo is the largest (tallest and fattest!) of the three in this pen.

This guy is WIDE! But I think he purposely turned a little to the side and sucked it in for the photograph. A secret I may have shared with him... LOL

Then my boy Sergio showed up for his attention.

He too has a bit of a pudgie belly, not quite like his 1/2 brothers. I was trying to get a photograph to show off how sleek and shiny his black is. He really is stunning in the sun, but he was just moving to quick to get his kiss on the end of the nose. He is solid black but has lots of red highlights due to the fading of the sun. Yes I kiss my children on the ends of the nose... :0)

Bumped into two of the standard donkeys while walking back to the house. I snapped a shot of Valentine only as his Mom Cocoa just would not even look in my direction. She is such a Diva. But Valentine will usually look my way for snap -

He has such a beautiful or excuse me .. handsome face. Love those dark eyes. But this guy also is getting wider than the barn door! (not seriously) But really lots of rolls on him. His neck fat fell this past fall. People say .. oh you shouldn't let them get so fat.. UH HELLO... we don't feed them any extra... all they get is grazing and they do a lot of it. How do I stop that? And really.... I am told to loose weight I should eat all greens diet... salads no dressing... uh isn't that what these guys are eating and it isn't working so well for them!

Finish off this post with a couple shots of two of the girl goats. Olive Oyl has really worked out a spot for herself.

She has scratched down in the dirt to create a large circle area of clean dirt for herself. A little cooler and more comfortable - Such a beautiful lady - don't you think. And sweet too.

And then a shot of Sweet Pea - This girl is such a looker.

Not real friendly, but really pretty. And her first baby was just beautiful... so we will keep her and try again for a Spring baby again and see what we get again.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend with friends, family or furry kids planned. I have worked long hours the past couple of weeks helping out a friend with an estate. I am thinking that a couple of down days sounds amazing.... lets see if we actually end up getting them! Usually something comes up right? Life...

High Hopes Stamps - Fragrant Blooms

Howdy -

Did a little coloring today on one of the new High Hopes Release stamps "Fragrant Blooms". Just love this gal watering her flowers with her little friends watching -

I went with different color combo for me. Purple and brown. Took the inspiration from the papers from BoBunny's Penny Emporium collection. I colored my image with my Copics (colors below) and then inked the edges with Rangers Tea Dye ink. My purple card stock is from Core'dnations and I sanded the edges for a shabby look. I added a mulberry flower and Martha Stewart frond leaf punches, with a button center.

The sentiment is also a new stamp from High Hopes "Everything Grows with Love" Perfect with this image!
