A Saturated Canary - Wendy

Had some fun with another Saturated Canary - it was so hard to decide which to get that first order, and then the second order I still had so many on my list. But I narrowed down and Wendy was a must. I had seen Bev's card done with her and just fell in love with it. Wendy is gorgeous, but the puppy is what sent me to make sure she was in my cart.

Here is my first card with Wendy and her adorable puppy -

Now it is rare that I color and have no idea at all what paper I want to use. But this time, I had colored up Wendy a few nights before, as therapy....  Then sat her to the side until I had time to make a card. So I had this gorgeous girl all done in bright blue and then had no clue what I was going to do with her and papers to use. I went through lots of papers and nothing felt right at all. 10 million papers and nothing. So I sat her aside again. Then I came back to her late last week - I had come across this piece of pattern paper from DCWV "The Four Seasons" Glitter stack.  This is one of those collections of paper that has been on my shelf forever. I have never used a piece out of it. I fell in love with it while at Michaels one day, probably had a 40% off coupon that I needed to use and went with it.

Honestly it is gorgeous, but the patterns are so large it is hard to use with cards. But this piece... well I decided that Wendy should be sitting in these large flowers and the huge butterflies could be flying around her. So a cream colored base card stock. Then a dark brown and burlap pattern paper from Glitz. Then the blue is the DCWV. I took a second piece of the dark brown pattern paper and created an iron fence with the Martha Stewart corner/border punch. I love this punch set and just don't use it enough. Then the glittery section of the pattern paper - I cut out the butterflies from other sections of the paper -

Everything is sewed together with a simple straight stitch. A piece of gingham brown and white ribbon tied around the middle. Then Wendy -
She was colored with my copics and then s bit more shading with pencils. I cut her out loosely - and then glued her into the center of the card - sitting among those gorgeous glitter flowers.

This is one of those cards that I have left "blank" for the sentiment. It could go for so many things and I think I will wait until the need to decide what it should be.

The inside is done as well - copied close to the front and left blank.

So this card was for fun - just to play... but lets see what challenges it qualifies for this week :0)

Saturated Canaries Challenge - Anything Goes
Papertake weekly - Anything Goes
Southern Girls Challenge - Things with Wings
Sweet Stampin' Challenge - All Stitched Up
Pile it On Challenge - Let's Go Outdoors
Stampin' for the Weekend - Bugs and Butterflies
Ribbon Girl Blog Challenge - Ribbon or Lace

There are more I am sure... I get lost seeing all the fabulous challenges out there! And all the talent from the Dt's.. a click to the challenge, then clicks to the DT blogs and then links on their pages and then I can't find my way back to where I started :0) But I see lots of pretty things on my way!

Me... I just noticed the time, and gotta stop surfing and get a bottle made up and out to Sandy my baby goat....  Then I think I am going to call it an early evening. Yesterday I cooked my brain. Seriously, I was out in the sun too long with a lady wanting to buy a goat... it was really hot. I thought I had stayed in the shade most of the time, but it was 100 degrees... and this gal, well she ain't use to the heat at all. After a couple of hours I started to feel odd... nauseous, weak legs, dizzy, and my head felt like it was bubbling inside. Ding... I was done. I came in an drank a gallon of water and then couldn't do a thing the rest of the day. I was so sick feeling and dizzy I couldn't even color!!!!  Today... I have still been feeling a bit weak, but have drinking lots of water and stayed 99% of the day in the air conditioning, no doing much at all, I am good just being cautious for a couple of days. Hubby will have to do most all the outside work... LOL like I do much anyway... well other than hello's loving and holding the water hose from time to time. Oh... and feeding my baby... which I need to do and stop rambling....   Oh BTW... we sold two more goats yesterday so it was all worth it. Mel and Bobby will be going in a few days to a lady that is going to spoil them rotten. She has always wanted a couple of goats.. just for lots of lovin' :0) -

Animal Crackers - What a week!

Happy Animal Crackers Saturday! :0)  I took a ton of photos this week. First trying to learn my new phone's camera, and then well... just seemed like many of the animals last night were just wanting their photo taken! LOL That doesn't happen often, most of them are tired of my snapping photos. Especially the dogs! But I got quite a few good ones -

First how about my baby? Sandy is eating really well.. almost too well. She eats more than she should and I have to keep telling myself that she is a goat and will want more than she can hold. So I am really careful to watch how fast she is sucking down her formula. Also because we are having to get her stomach use to the formula... she has had some issues with it being too rich. I tired to switch her over to store bough goat milk and NO WAY... would have been less rich rich for her, cost me more but been better for her. But she wouldn't touch it. So back to the goat formula. She loves the stuff. I feed 4-5 times a day depending on how much she takes in. And we try to not feed at night. If she doesn't eat much right before bed, I will sometimes feed her when I take the dogs out in the middle of the night. But most of the time... she is good - but really calling out at the pen gate by 6am :0)
Oh I wanted to point out her tail.... it never stops while eating ;0)  So all the photos I took, her tail was blurry in them all -

Speaking of happy tails....

Isn't the best photo as the sun was setting behind them... but seriously is this not the cutest photo or what? LOL This is a BUNCH of the kids just after "Dad" (Hubby) had put their grain in their trough... and yes those tails were going pretty fast too...

Here is a sweet photo.... This is Vera, Mel and Alice up in the 1/2 finished Goat Condo....(teaser for you.. ha... Hubby has been building a few new huts for the goats) Anyway, here are Daisey's kids all together. Really a stunning group of babies, all in one family :0)

Now I think I told you a while back that Mel was sold. Well.... once they came to get him - they decided that he wasn't quite as friendly as they would like. He is a bit skittish, especially with new people. So I took them to meet Popeye. Actually I didn't have to take them he was right there chewing on the edge of the little boys shorts. He is obnoxious friendly. And was totally ok with the little boy picking him and carrying him around, even if his legs were dragging the ground a bit. So they took Popeye instead. I was sad to see him go, but I know he will be totally spoiled and loved.... that is what is important.

We started two ads this week  - one for the babies. And then a separate one for Cleatus -

I so want to find him someone that needs a totally gorgeous stud. His coloring is amazing and those all important ice blue eyes. No calls yet on him... but I am still hoping. Now the ad for the babies... we have had quite a few calls and emails. Sold two more right off. Peggy and Luann both went home with one lady. She wanted friends for an aging, blind Nubian goat she has.  Then we have two more ladies that want... but are thinking it over. Still hoping we have more calls, I am thinking this weekend we will get more rings.

This photo just makes me feel so guilty. Wooly Mammoth Sonia...

Oh my most of the donkeys are really slicking off on their owns - I like that, one it really stresses some of them to be sheared. And two... I am lazy and it is a lot of work to shear them and have them look nice.  But Sonia... well she has her father's long hair. A popular thing with some mini donkey owners, but here in South Central Texas... not so good. So I think we are going to have to shear her pretty soon. Darn.. look at those legs, they are really tough to do....

Here is a shady photo of Vickie....

She is such a pretty girl.

And then one of her BFF - Eliie Mae -

This girl has the most amazing eyes... and eye lashes! Oh my if only I could have 1/2 of her eyelashes I would be so happy! Ellie Mae is also our screamer, this gal has a hee haw that just kills me. It is the loudest high pitch yell that sounds more like a child than a donkey. Love it.

I really worked hard this week to get at least one good photo of each of the dogs. I like to have "recent" good photos of my inside babies to have on my phone to show people when they say "What is a Toy Australian Shepherd?"

Libbie - I LOVE her photo! She did so good posing this week, and this may be my favorite photo of her in over a year!

Then it was Autie's turn... and just like any little boy...

(Shaking my head here....)  You gotta love him :0)  I'll keep working on a "handsome" photo of him, but this one captures his personality.

Then it was Chica's photo - this girl for a long time has been terrible at photos. She is always a mess, or too interested in everything else and won't sit still. But yesterday - She said.. if Autie can do it so can I!

Yep.. just so lady like isn't it?  But she does follow Autie and do most everything he does.

Then it was little man Tuco's turn - Got a million great shots of him. He is young and not bored with me yet, so he loves the attention of me talking to him while snapping away.... This one to me shows his personality best - I figure he was laughing at my photos of Autie and Chica -

What a ham -

Hope you enjoyed this week. I know I showed too many this week, sorry. I had a bunch more that I weeded out and will hold for next week :0)

Have a glorious Saturday and thanks so much for making time for Animal Crackers!

Just Magnolia and Hanglar Challenge - Father's Day and/or Edwin

Warning ... this weeks Just Magnolia and Hanglar challenge I found very hard this week! Just couldn't get into it at all.... I went through all my Edwins, and one I was SHOCKED at how many I do have. I think 99% of the had to have come in Kits... anyway, I found one that I wanted to color, the little sailor and the ship port window.

Colored with my Copics, then cut them out. Then I went through every piece of paper I own. Ok.. didn't really but I went through a whole lot of them. Nothing felt right, nothing even 1/2 way felt right. It sat on my desk for three days!! I just couldn't pull it together. Then last night I was down to the wire and had to do something, and just well... threw it together with scraps and pieces. They don't go well... but you know sometimes you just need accept defeat and move on -

So look quick and scroll on down.....

Sad huh? So lets just move on to the info - well there isn't much. I used scraps. The sentiment is a Magnolia sentiment that I stamped on light blue fabric tape. Then my dots... love those :0) Those are Viva Decor Paper Pen dots in dark brown. I used Viva Decor ice white for the splashes on the wave, and the gold for the buttons on Sailor Edwins pants buttons.

The other DT girls rocked this one so do make sure to pop over there and see their cards, then do join in for another great prize this week.... sorry I just didn't have it at all this week.

Little update about my phone drama..... Wednesday afternoon Michelle went totally babbling mad. The 100th "supervising tech" called me and assured me that he was going to fix my problem and get my phone working. 3.5 hours later on the phone with him he was done and had nothing else to try... but please give him a few days to think about it and he will get back to me. I hung up totally worn out and just plain ill. A little later another high ranking tech from my carrier called and he had just gotten my file and again assured me that he was going to fix the issue. Over an hour into the conversation.... well - someone else took over my mind and mouth and I basically turned the poor man inside out. Seriously over 4 months and now like 28 techs from both Apple and my carrier all assured me the same things and said that to give them a day or two and they would get back to me. NONE of them ever contacted me again. So... I basically told him that was it I was finished and hung up. Then I talked to my local store.... and then a customer service person... and 3 hours later that night I was at the store and shelling out more money to get a new HTC EVO 4GLTE - iPhone over.  I have to send it back to the company this week. Do you think they will notice a few shot gun holes through it?   OH... and my phone number ... the number I have had for like 18 years!!! ... Gone I now have some stupid number that I cannot for the life of me remember.  But you know what??? It is over. I have had my iPhone since January.... nothing but problems. And it is over!  And I am not in prison.. so far. But I have calmed down and moved on with life.  Life of baby goats that is. We ran an ad for the babies.... sold three and have a couple that are being looked at. Good homes - promise :0)  I'll talk more about that tomorrow in Animal Crackers.

Now - I need some therapy coloring - I am thinking lots of pink and girlie would really help me right now.

See you tomorrow!

Whimsy Stamps Challenge - Things with Wings

Hello..... it is Wednesday - I am so stressed it just isn't even funny... all because of a stupid cell phone.  I have a iPhone 4s. I love the "phone" totally adore it. But the one thing it doesn't do - won't do - is phone calls! And honestly as much as I like all the other things the iPhone does... phone calls is it's main purpose right? For over 4 months I have been working with my carrier and Apple trying to fix it. Static, Dropped Calls, doesn't ring, missed messages, I could go on and on. They have done everything from minor cleaning issues to wiping my phone completely to new to giving me TWO more phones. So three phones and they have all not worked. They have even sent techs out to my house and tested the strength of service. And really stupid part... Hubby has the same phone, bought the same day, same carrier and his works perfectly. Me... when it does ring I run around like an idiot... "Can you hear me now... how about now.... hello??"  I am so frustrated it isn't funny. Now I am trying to return it and just start over with a totally new brand of phone. Because I cannot live out in the country and have no phone. We gave up our land line ages ago... we didn't need them because we have great new iPhones! Problem.... they can't give me a new phone because I have had this one too long. And if I want to buy one I have to pay full price no upgrade discount because I used my upgrade to buy the iPhone! REALLY???? I have one very nice lady that has been helping me for about three weeks from my carrier. She has one last hope of helping me.... I will find out later today what she says - if that doesn't work. Well... I just don't know. Better not threaten on here a public forum and all.....

ok... how about something nice now that I have vented  -

My card for the Whimsy Stamps Challenge! - Things with Wings is the challenge this week - and me, I used one of the new LiaStamps images. She does beautiful birds so I knew that one of them would be wonderful for the challenge. I chose "Sparrow" -  Now that is what it is named, but here in Texas that looks more like a ScissorTail Fly Catcher - we love to see them out on fence lines and always point them out. So I googled images to make sure I had the right colors and went to work with my Copics.

I really had fun with this one, and I spent a couple of nights working on it. My bird is colored with Copics, over and over, then highlighted with a white gel pen and pencils. I did it all twice. So I could cut out the bird and pop dot it over each other for more depth. The base image is cut out with a nestie label, and I took my black Copic and went around the edge. The card - lots of layers. Lots and lots. Black card stock, peach card stock, another black card stock. Then a piece of Prima pattern paper. Really pretty... peach flowers and flying birds on it. But then I added another pattern paper, and another layer of black card stock. Then a band of the Prima paper across the middle. Everything is sewed down. I a roll of Rayon Seam Binding tape that was a deep peach color - I smooched it and wrinkled it, then a piece of double sided tape to hold it in place. That is when it was time for my bird, pop dotted on to the front of the card, and the bird pop dotted on top of that.

Needed more right? So I die cut out four Memory Box corner flourishes, punched out some Martha Stewart flowers ( I matched the color of the ribbon with a Copic and colored them) I glued them to the corners and then I decided that the sweet little flowers in the image, well the needed some 3-d work too. so I added flowers onto the branch! For the centers I used a Viva Decor Black Paper pen.

Love all the layers and dimension!

Here is the inside, I used matching papers and layers, and then a few scraps of the papers.

Totally was out of my "normal" and had a blast doing it. So there is my challenge card, now you need to click on over to the Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Challenge and see all the DT's "Things with Wings" Then you can join in the challenge for a chance to win some Whimsy Stamps! And don't forget... you don't have to use a Whimsy image to play!!! It is nice if you do - but not necessary :0)

All righty... have a Dr. appointment this morning, then I will deal with my phone. If for some reason I don't come back.... well..... I went nuts on them!  :0<

Saturated Canary Challenge - Bookmark

Hi - Today for my post I am showing a Saturated Canary :0) Love Love Love playing with these cuties! The challenge this week is to make a bookmark. Now mine is "technically" a bookmark, all be it a large bookmark... Ha!  I was just playing away at what I liked and then as I was putting it all together I realized that it was a tad large. I think 5X6.75 inches? Is that too large?  Oh well as long as it can hold a place in a book right?

Here she is -

My pretty little lady is "Canary Love" I just love her, I so wish I could pull off wearing clothes like that! I colored with my Copics, then shaded with pencils. My tag - I used Papertrey Ink card stock, the light grey card stock I punched with a Martha Stewart set. I think this is called something like double loop? I sewed a piece of pattern paper with a blanket stitch to the blue/green card stock. I was really confused on how to cut out my image. If I did it square it really covered too much of the pattern paper, so I ended up just cutting very loosely around her and the bird. I inked the edges of everything for a more vintage look. I sewed three pieces of ribbon to the top. You have to have something stick out the top of the book right? then for just a bit of vintage bling I added six dots of Viva Decor Pearl Pen. Can't have much dimension at all to fit in the book... so I was limited on embellishments.

So I am submitting this one to the Saturated Canary Challenge - You can find it HERE -

Ok.. Monday... better see what my week is and get things going for the day. One thing I bet I will be doing is sitting in a tractor... Hubby has to work on one today, dumb thing has a safety (yes it is important to have) But in order for him to work on it and start it someone has to be in the seat. And it is too much for him to climb in and out of the seat and work on the engine at the same time... So I see myself out in the middle of the pasture where it stalled doing the all important job on keeping my rear end in the seat so he can do what he needs to... I think my iPad wifi might just reach out there... hmmmmm maybe I can surf the web while holding down the seat???? LOL

Have a great day -
Hugs
