A new InStyle Stamp.. STRIKE!

I was lucky to be asked to create a couple of cards with one of the new InStyle Stamps!! And I just love her, she is too fun and is a flash back to the 80's for me.. we lived in the bowling alley, hey it was the thing to do when I was in high school!

This is Barb, isn't she great?

I just wish I looked this cute! She is colored with my Copics and high lighted with a white gel pen. I then found two pattern papers in my stash from ColorBox thought they were fun, and retro looking.

I used a dark red Bazzill card stock for the base, the blue and yellow solids are the back side of the pattern papers. I sewed down parts of the layout, then punched three EK Success Retro Flowers, inked the edges and high lighted them. Found red buttons for their centers. The Sentiment is an ancient sticker from my collection, so old the top and maker is long gone.
Now I was having so much fun with Barb... I just had to make another card - and you really should have seen my "space" after I went searching for this one piece of pattern paper that I just knew I had!
HA... but you will be seeing lots of my older papers now... cuz I really found some cute things I didn't remember having! But common isn't this paper perfect? It is Basic Grey "Hang Ten" collection. I found two pieces from the collection that worked. I even cut out one of the larger bowling pins and used on the corner and the used one of the tags. I rarely end up using those from the collection, but it was perfect here. The blue pattern paper is punched with my new Martha Stewart spiral bound punch - was really dying to use it. I inked the edge of everything, and the sentiment is computer generated. Barb is of course colored with my Copics, and high lighted with white gel pen. Now when I went to put it all together the papers are so distressed looking, the bold white of the image and the sentiment were just way to bright - so I used my air compressor and created the same splatter look that the papers have. Don't know what do you think too much?
I really enjoyed playing with this image.. well I made two cards in one night with her! There are some other really cute sneak peeks for Barb and other new releases at InStyle Stamps Blog... run on over and see how cute they are! Addicting I tell ya! I think I am just gonna have to get all of them, they just make me feel good, and smile.
Ok, so it was 69 when I woke up and took Libbie out this morning. Within an hour the wind has picked up and it is drizzling and now is in the low 50's... they say it will be in the low 40's by the end of the day and we are expecting REAL RAIN!!!! Oh my I am so excited, we soooo need it! We have three days of fore casted rain. The cold I don't really like, but will take it if it brings rain! So in a few minutes I need to pop Libbie back out the door again.. won't she have a shock!
Off to sit in the window with breakfast and watch the rain come!
