Howdy -
This week High Hopes Challenge has a challenge of "Christmas in July" I have such a hard time making Christmas cards in Summer. I know many of you work ahead and start your Christmas cards now and have them all done by Halloween. Me... I start mine usually after Thanksgiving. I just have such a hard time thinking winter - snow - Christmas when it is over 100 degrees outside.
So for this weeks challenge I thought about one of my favorite High Hopes Christmas images.... "Fishing Santa" - I like to think he is on summer vacation :0)
I colored Santa with my copics, sorry I know I took a photo of the colors... and it is gone... I think I accidentally deleted it. Sorry. I inked the edges with Distress Ink Tea Dye. I used my Marvy Snow marker on his hat, and then added just a tiny bit of sparkle to it. I then added Viva Decor Glitter pen to the fish as well. They needed to have a bit of shine and bling to them.
My card base is Core'dinations Kraft Green that I sanded just a little. The pattern papers are scraps. I think they are My Minds Eye. The sentiment is also High Hopes of course, and perfect with Fishing Santa. "Best Fishes for a Merry Christmas!"
I added three red buttons. It still needs something, but I can't figure out what and I stared at it for an hour... then gave up.
The inside - note that the core'dinations card stock is kraft color on the other side -
Same papers and scraps are used. stamped the little fishes at the corner.
So now I have one Christmas card done! Join the High Hopes Challenge and you will be "ahead" on your Christmas cards too!! LOL
Now to deal with the heat again... need to do some work outside, but I think I am going to put it off... LOL...
Have a wonderful day!
