So... I aged today....

Yes, the calendar rolled over - I aged today. But you know after all that I have gone through this summer, it is ok by me - 43 is just alright with me :0)

So here is an update... went out driving yesterday - TWICE, just me and my pick up truck. Now I didn't venture out onto the highway - LOL but things went well and had no issues, I think the highway and I are gonna be just fine. The main thing I had to do is to get my right hand mirror in the right spot. I do have to look to the right more than I use too, or should I say should have done. And I even passed a man on a tractor with huge load of hay, and didn't rub tires with him! (I had to pass him, he was only going 10MPH) Distance judging didn't seem to be an issue at all. I feel pretty comfortable with what is real distance. Now first time I park in one of those straight, tight, very busy parking lots... I'll report back and let you know how me and "real distance" are doing.. LOL I probably will be getting lots of exercise in the near future... parking WAY out in the lots!

So that is one big check mark on my list. YEA! And Wednesday is the big DR. day to get the ok to visit the ocularist - learning new things.... this is the person that makes the artificial eyes, from what I have read and heard from people they are more artist than anything.

So what are we doing today for my shhh "birthday"  - Hubby is taking me out for a day trip. Animals have to be fed remember, morning and night, so day trips is about all we can do. We are going antiquing, to a small town about 2 hours away - I have always wanted to take a trip there, and well.. we always get sidetracked and never make it there. And ... there is a stamping store there too.. wink wink so I am sure I will venture in and see what I can find there too wink wink!!

Well - sorry to post and not show off something, a card, a project, a furry child. For some reason it just didn't feel right to not post today.

Thanks so much for reading my rambling...
HUGS and-

Happy Birthday Michelle and have a fabulous day out with your hubby on the antique trail (with a little craft shop thrown in!). I'm looking forward to reading about your adventure soon. As to the driving, well I can never do the parallel parking or squeeze into a tight spot, but the exercise from the far side of the supermarket car park is good for me!
enjoy your day.
hugs, annie x

Michelle I'm so glad your little drive went well - you did make me chuckle with the "rubbing tyres" bit!

I hope you've had a wonderful day and did a little bit of 'birthday retail therapy' whilst you were near the stamp shop ;)

Because the commitments would not let me time to do and you send a card I decided to do 3 and gave them to friends as they explain why. Do you mind or want to get one that is for you, albeit late, or agree to be donated to other 3? Here I've shown here and waiting for your decision: http://julyartmagazin.blogspot.com/2010/08/blog-post_16.html

Hi Michelle
oh i am so glad you are driving, thinag have gone ok for you! really chuffed for you. I had a friend at uni and she only had one eye (we where studying eyes!!) and her final disertation was why do we need binocular vision? she didnt seem to think we needed it.Also people who only use one eye due to Amblyopia (lazy eye) all cope remarkably well, the brain adapts brilliantly. As i think i have said before you will not be able to see those irritating 3D movies (is that a good or bad thing?LOL!!)I hope your visit with the ocularist goes well, they will photo your other eye and copy it. You should check it out, seeing as you love art.
Best of luck hun! thinking of you! AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
Hugs Di xxxx

Michelle, I'm so happy to hear that you are better. It really does help to keep a positive attitude when going through difficult times. It sounds as if you have great family support. I look forward to hearing how you progress over the next few months.

Sincerely, Debra (dj1952)

P.S. I'm originally from Texas myself. I sure could go for some Texas style BBQ. LOL!
