CALIENTE!!!

Yesterday at exactly 2:20PM it was 100 degrees here! Yep it was HOT! That is also when Lacey decided to birth her baby!!!!

I would like you to meet our newest member of our "family" - This is Caliente!!! (Hubby loves to name them words and all of our babies have a Spanish theme) So as it was so HOT.. Caliente it was - we will actually call her daily "Cali"... and yes you read that right HER!!! She is a gorgeous perfect little spotted girl!!! WAY TO GO RAFFIE!!!!! My smiling donkey is one proud papa.... as is "Dad"....

And Lacey is being the best Momma!
I know I show these Maternity Ward Window photos every time.. but it just cracks me up!

She is just gorgeous! And really I am so proud of Lacey - I checked on her just a few minutes after 2pm... she really didn't look like she was in full labor - just laying down in the barn looking at me like "darn it is hot out here"... I came back out just after 2:20 and there was Lacey standing above her already cleaning her up! With in 45 minutes she was cleaned up, standing and eating! Oh and she has the eating thing down... she bounces a million miles an hour never still - then goes right to the food source and freezes and gets a snack.. then off she goes again!

Ok, and so no one misses Libbie this week... here is a photo I took while we were waiting for Dad to come home - this is now an evening ritual... I tell Gato and Libbie that "Daddy is Home" and they both run to the front window, up their stairs and stare out the window to see him come up our dirt road... as soon as they see his truck they fly off the stairs and run to the back door... too cute. (oh and please don't say anything about my dirty window... it is hopeless to keep this window clean - constant nose prints)
I hope you have a wonderful Saturday.. and a great Mother's Day Sunday for those here in the US - We are still on Donkey alert.. Vicki is next - but I am allowed to leave today for a short time to go to the grocery store :0)...
HUGS and-

CONGRATULATIONS, and she has spots also. This is wonderful and to know Lacey did it by herself is wonderful news. I just love that face on Cali. Looks like her ears are just as big as her face.

I know what you mean about the nose marks on the windows as pooh-ber does that when he wants to cool down also

Again Good Luck with the next upcoming birth

I love the new baby. Cali looks adorable. I think it is too cute that Gato gets in on the "daddy's home" action. Cats don't usually participate in that. I have a cat that was raised by my daughter the year before she moved out and when Haley walks through the door the cat is immediately at her feet and talking nonstop. She usually speaks about one-two words a day. Animals add so much to our lives, another deminsion all together. Keep the donkey pics coming, don't wait til next Saturday if the next one comes soon. thanks, ms.cheryl

OMGOOOOSSSHHH! She is so stinking beautiful! I got such a kick out of your post. All of the others wanting to meet the new baby and I would expect the dog to be excited for 'daddy' to come home, but the cat too? Hilarious! Luv ur donkey farm! I am such an animal person and would love to do that one day! I think that's why my husband has kept me in the city. lol Happy Mother's day!!!
