Love Yellow and Purple -

OH I have to shout out a big THANK YOU! To my buddy Claudia, again... (she is just sooo nice to me) Claudia shared her order of Hanglar stamps with me! I now have three of my very own, they are so hard to get right now and I really have been wanting some. So THANK YOU CLAUDIA you are the best buddy ever! Visit her gorgeous work at her blog Paper Pressings!

I of course had to ink up one of my new stamps right away and use it for this weeks Friday Sketchers This weeks sketch is from Kim at Kraftin Kimmie's Korner, and it is a great sketch! I love different sizes of paper pieces on cards. Well I pulled out an older set of Basic Gray papers, Oh Baby Girl, I love yellow and purple together and when I went to color in this adorable little bumble bee girl I didn't want to do black and yellow I wanted more girlie colors, and the purple and yellow of this pattern paper seemed to call out and determine my color choice. With my copics I colored her in and highlighted with white gel pen and Spica Glitter Pens (it aggravates me I can't get a good photo that shows the sparkle of these pens!) I stamped the sentiment vertical, it is from MFT. I then pulled out my sewing machine, dug out some purple thread, and played with the embroidery stitches on each piece. Didn't realize that the box stitch did each box THREE times! Wow it took some thread to do that little box! I placed all the pieces down according to the sketch. Now I tried a million different ribbons they were too wide, too thin, to light, too dark, too busy, too plain. I then came up with stacking two ribbons. I liked it! Now don't you love those buttons! Oh I just had to have them the moment I saw them at JoAnns. They are shell buttons and are just gorgeous in person. I ran some yellow cording thru them to have the look of being sewing down. The edges of my card just seemed so plain. I inked them with a Colorbox Catseye purple ink. I love the colors, and I know this little bee will be inked many many more times in my future.

Lots of Saturday projects today. A few errands and some laundry. Hope you have something fun planned! Cuz I am boring this weekend. Sometimes I guess that is ok.

HUGS and

I agree with everyone else here...."Bee"utiful card Michelle. I love your creative stitching!! I loved using some of the fancier stitches on my old maching but my little Janome I have upstairs because of a lack of space only has zigzag and straight. Now I am inspired to set up the old one again...lol....
