Hanglar, A Spoon Full of Sugar, and Purple what a perfect combination. This week the challenge is a fabulous sketch by Nikki. I used a Hangar image that a wonderful friend sent me. I am soooo in love with these images just wish it was easier to get the stamps here! Anyway I colored the skin tones with my Copic Markers, then the rest of the image I used my Koh-I-Noor Pencils and mineral spirits. And then high lighted with white gel pen and Sakura Glaze pens.
I used blank card base to start with. I have been going through my older stash of papers and found this gorgeous piece of Anna Griffin paper. Her papers are just so pretty with all the flowers. I cut it to match the blocks on the sketch, I wanted to make sure I left them the way they cut so the flowers would match up just leave a spot between them. I attached them to a new piece of card stock. Have you seen the new Coordination's papers? Oh they are just so cool. Love how they already look like sanded, and I did just a bit more sanding on the edges. And attached it to the base.
I matted my image on the same purple and then a scrap of dark green. I also doodled around the image with my grey Copic multi-liner. I stamped "Happy Birthday" with a Hero Arts stamp and matted the same way. The dots in the corners are Cloud Nine rain dots. Love them.
For the band across the middle I threaded a piece of thin ribbon through a piece of vintage lace and tied bow on each side of the image.
Make sure to check out all the DT cards at A Spoon Full of Sugar, so really gorgeous work. Then give the sketch a try!
I want to wish my sister well.... Last night was a stressful night. She fell and hurt her ankle bad. Today she is laid up. Can't even image having three little ones and a hurt ankle. But she sounds better this morning. So rest up while they are in school Sis! And BIG HUGS - LOVE YA!
Ok - I am off, busy day. I hope you have a good one planned and have time to craft!
