Seasons of Magnolia

The Tilda and Friends ATC Challenge gave us a whole month to work on a four part ATC... now why do I wait until the last few days? I knew what I wanted to do as soon as I saw the challenge. Well summer was nuts and the month past in a blink of an eye. So I sat down and worked on my idea.... did not work at all like I planned in my head, couldn't find the ribbon I know I have somewhere, and my white fluff paint is MIA!!!! ARGH!

So here is what I came up with. I wanted to do a continuous scene. Loved Fran's so much... and had this idea of rolling hills that change with each panel. Ok I got the stamping done ok, I stamped the Magnolia background twice, masking out the sun the second time. Now my scene is what it is here in Texas. First panel is bright with color and flowers popping up everywhere. Second scene things are hot... flowers turn to native flowers, or weeds, sun is hot and sky is clear. Thirds scene things are cooling down, leaves turn and drop and the green grass starts to go brown. (Mind you the leaves never stay on the ground around here... donkeys eat them up!) And the fourth scene is cold and dry. Grass has died, weeds die and wait to be cleaned out. Sky is darker and times a cold rain comes. Ok..... so I have a lot of artistic license here, and a lot of imagination. I have a piece of ribbon that reads "Seasons of Love". It would have been perfect to go around my project. I was thinking that I would attach it to the front of a card with the ribbon across the bottom and tying the ATC closed. Oh well now that I have posted this I should find it, and then I can put together the card. If I do I'll post the card, but until then I am going to just show the ATC.

Some info about what I used: Magnolia summer background stamp, Copic Markers, Stickles, Rubberstamp Tapestry Stump stamps for flowers, leaves and weeds.

I do have a card to show today as well. I am totally loving the Hanglar images that I was sent by very wonderful generous friends for my birthday. I have colored a few and not made anything with them yet, so last night I pulled out one and found Basic Grey papers that match the dark colorings of the adorable little guy. Love the satin ribbon with the papers and that is one of my new Creative Impressions felt flowers, leaves and glitter brads. I am so in love with these! I doodled around the image and used a Papertrey Ink sentiment of Hi There in the corner.

Ok, now off to hit a few blogs, and then get my day going! Hope you have a great one!
