A Spoon Full of Sugar and some Mice!

It is Tuesday!! Spoon full of Sugar Challenge and this week is a great Sketch!

For my card I used my collection of Fiskar's Heidi Grace Papers. I have had this collection for a while now, one of those that I didn't want to separate and cut into cuz it all looked so pretty together. Plus I also received the rub-ons, stickers, metal embellishments and flowers that matches! So I picked out a couple of sheets of the paper, that is double sided so I had four patterns to work with.

I used a off white card stock for the base, then cut the pieces for the sketch, matting each of them in the same off white. I sewed each together. The image is a wonderful Hanglar image that was sent to me for my birthday by a wonderful friend! I feel so lucky! Oh and I got more cards yesterday that I will be uploading later today!

Back to the card. I colored her with my Copics and white gel pen. This was a paper I wasn't familiar with and it really darkened when I started coloring, but I wasn't going to waste the image, so I made it work as best I could. I doodled the edges of the image and matted it with one of the pattern papers and then the card stock. For the ribbon across the card, I found a shade of satin ribbon that matched, but it seemed kind of blah... so I sewed on it! Ok, now I haven't done that before and as long as the stitches are not real tight... it worked perfect! I love how it added so much to the ribbon. The flowers are part of the same collection, I love how Heidi Graces flowers have words printed on them, they are so different and I love them. The word "dream" is from the sticker sheet that matches the collection. I am happy I cut into the collection, should do that with more of the miles of paper I have hoarded over the years!

Make sure to check out Spoon Full of Sugar today, and see all the wonderful DT cards this week. Plus it is a great sketch to work with. We have a new sponsor this week the very talented Katharina from has kindly donated Charlie with dog as blog candy!!!! To be in with a chance to win ,just leave us a comment with a link to your work, and we will randomly pick 1 winner next week. OH and another announcement to make, as of this week you may use any make of stamps for A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenges! So now you can use any of your favorite stamps! Including the new Whiff of Joy images!

I have one more card today... a few days ago I ran across a new challenge blog. I have so many House Mouse stamps, some have never even seen ink! I just had to join in especially for the first week. House Mouse and Friends Challenge is just starting up this week.

So I pulled out one of those that was still ink free and worked on the challenge. This week they asked for "Firsts" to celebrate their first challenge. Well for my stamp we are going to call this "First Caffeine Buzz". I know a stretch for the challenge but I really wanted to use this stamp. I colored it with my copics and then used a dark red card stock and kraft paper with scraps of a striped kraft paper for my card.
I found a My Favorite Things sentiment that was perfect for the image and then used one of the flourishes from Debbie's Die Cuts. (Thanks Donalda! I won this from her blog candy a while back and I only use them on special cards cuz I love them so much!) I inked it with dark brown ink, doodled the edges of the card and doodle stitched the image. I think it is hysterical! I love their huge big eyes with their first "Buzz"... speaking of... I need some morning caffeine myself - we had storms here all night. We have had 5 inches on rain in just over two days. Over three inches just last night! More is expected today, the donkeys look like drowned rats, but they will love the grass when it starts growing this week!
Have a great Tuesday!
