This weeks challenge is "3 buttons & 3 Jewels" basically you can make anything you like as long as there are 3 buttons & 3 jewels on your project. Well and of course a Sarah Kay image!
I wish you could have seen my desk while I was working on this card! It was quite funny. I have TONS of buttons and lots of different types of jewels. I made the card first, and had it sitting there and was dumping... yes dumping buttons out of jars and boxes to find what buttons I wanted to use. I has so many that I loved that were perfect for this card.... but only had 2 of them. The cat was going crazy jumping and playing with the buttons that were dropping to the floor. But finally I settled for these three purple pearled buttons. Then went for the jewels. I first had stuck down three small pink pearls. But they just didn't show well enough, and then I found these three flower gems, that came from a swap months and months back. Just too pretty.
The details for the card... I colored the image with my Copics and Sakura Glaze pens. The papers are from Basic Grey Euphoria collection. I cut the image and the mat with my Nestibilites and stitched down with gel pens. I needed more for the background other than just the deep purple card stock, so I used a Prima stamp and my VersaMark ink pad to water mark the card stock. I love doing this and haven't done it in a while. The sentiment is again from Rubberstamp Tapestry. I added my "required" 3 buttons and the 3 gems.
Make sure you take a moment and check out the other DT cards over at Sarah Kay Challenge Blog. I am always in awe of the work these other DTs do.... really makes me reach deep to try and do as well as they do!
Also if you love Sarah Kay... make sure to check out the Stampavie DT blog! These DT's are from all over, and the styles of the cards are so different and all wonderful. Plus you will get the latest news about new stamps... not only Sarah Kay, but Rachelle Anne Miller and coming soon the fun Leere Aldrich images! Just wait until you see the new Christmas stamps coming!
Ok... I need to go hug some Donkeys - hope you have something fun planned today!
