Animal Crackers - Home Grown

Howdy -

Have we had some excitement here this week!! We have some home grown baby first here!

We have been counting the days that Momma Jet has been sitting on her pair of eggs and at 20 days, this Monday, we had two little surprises!! Home Grown chicks! We have been so happy! Hubby has wanted to raise our own little chicks forever, he has tried more than once to incubate babies. But it seems that Jet with her first try knew just what she was to do.

And she really did give us two adorable little chickies!

Now give may not have been the best word there... Jet was not the happiest with Hubby when he took her two little chicks, but it the safest for them. They would not survive out in the chicken coop.

So they now are living inside in a safe little chicken box. With a heat lamp and lots of TLC.

Hubby has been very protective of his little babies. We are praying that they keep growing and getting stronger every day!

Snapped a photo of Miss Gato.. isn't she just the prettiest kitty in the world?

Love those big green eyes!!

A couple of goat photos this week too...

Jill - Such a sweet lady.

After we nearly lost her a couple of years ago she is just a pet now. But a loved pet. And so pretty!

And speaking of pretty Vera...

Wish she was a friendly as sweet as her Aunt Jill... but even though she isn't quite a friendly she is a pretty little girl. She kind of looks like she knows she is gorgeous! Super model pose!

Hope you enjoyed this week.. and got a little smile!

High Hopes Stamps - Charlie Party Cow

Howdy -

Still Partying at High Hopes Stamps this month! This new Party Time Release is just so much fun! This week I colored up "Charlie Party Cow" ... now who doesn't love a dancing cow with balloons?

I went with a little different color combo on this one. With a card stock from Core'dinations that I sanded to show the turquoise core, then matched up with older My Minds Eye papers that have lots of glitter to them. I inked the edges of the papers with Rangers walnut distress ink and then sewed the layers together. The sentiment is also from High Hopes new release "It's Party Time" I just love that you can color the sentiment's letters to match the image!

Animal Crackers - Foggy Saturday Morning

Howdy -

Now is it old age, or just totally loosing my brain... I forgot what day of the week it was yesterday! Now in my defense I was really deep into some major early spring cleaning and just totally lost track of what I normally would have done on a Friday. I will say that I did accomplish a ton in cleaning out and sorting through piles of boxes I have stored and stacked up... but oh my I can't believe I forgot about Animal Crackers! So as early as I could I was out this morning snapping shots of my fur children in the fog for today...

Now they were not happy at all with me. You see I made Hubby stay inside and not start feeding breakfast for a few minutes while I snapped a few shots. Otherwise we would have only got heads down and rear end shots.

But man... look at the look from Cocoa as I took her and Valentines photo.

I think that is snap faster and get our breakfast!!

And Jazz was a bit more vocal towards me...

There were actually quite a few vocal ones! Bet you could hear our farm miles away in the fog this morning! LOL

Jorge was going more for the "I am adorable, now feed me look"

Yes he is adorable isn't he? Those big brown eyes just melt my heart!

His 1/2 brother Sebastian is quite a looker as well now that he is all grown up.

Can you believe our "baby" is almost a year old!! Such a handsome "man"!

The goats were pretty vocal as well. But our old lady Paintbrush was letting the young ones do all the talking she was just standing back and watching every move Hubby made.

She may be old, but she will be where ever the first flake of hay lands. Front and Center! Man she has given us lots of stunning babies over the years... retired now she is just here for the loving and hugs. Love her completely.

Peso... one of our bucks.

Now this guy has produced lots of stunning babies. And thank goodness the smarts have been passed down from the Moms...  as much as we love this guy... he isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer! Man I worry sometimes he forgets where his water is... But hey he is handsome!

LOL Sorry for the delay this morning. Once every year or so isn't too bad to be late though is it? Man I hate being late... (hanging head in shame)

Hope you all have a wonderfully blessed weekend -

Whimsy Stamps - Birdie Friend

Howdy -

I am so ready for Spring... not such a winter person here. And if the calendar isn't moving quite fast enough then I might as well color up some spring right? Totally loving Whimsy Stamps Crissy Armstrong's new "Birdie Friend"

Isn't she just adorable!! Love that little birdies too! I colored with my Copics (colors below) and then used a pattern paper from DCWV Tres Chic collection. The fabulous Whimsy Shapeology Double Scallop Doily Die in Square as a mat with more of the same pattern paper. I rounded the corners to fit inside the matted die. The sentiment "You Make my hear Smile"  is from Whimsy Stamps Digital Vintage Sentiments collection. LOVE this set!!! Then topped it off with a 3-D bow die.

Animal Crackers - Goodbye - Hello?

Howdy -

Well just as expected saying goodbye to the boys last weekend was a little tough. Exhausting and emotional....

Exhausting... well lets just says that Flavio (as expected) was not a happy camper about putting on his harness and being led to the trailer. Poor Hubby LITERALLY was drug around on his rear end with Flavio saying NOPE ... not happening. After what seemed like forever a bit of reinforcements came and helped Flavio into the trailer. Then he settled down and was looking at us like ... so where are going?

Patricio was much calmer, just a little convincing and he was in the trailer.

We had over an hour drive to deliver the boys, and then we arrived we were able to unload them right into their pasture. No leading Flavio anywhere.. whew!

I don't know who was more confused... the donkeys or the cows.  Flavio was not at all sure what these large things were and what the heck was those things coming out of that ones head!!! Patricio... he just saw fresh grass and never seemed to care about the other beings in this pen. Now the cows... they were slow, cautious, a few were curious and walked over to the donkeys.. Flavio did a little snort... and that was it! About 40 cows including the longhorns were taking off as fast as they could to the other end of this huge pasture. Flavio... yep he was in charge. Even if he didn't realize it. He just looked at us as if to say what is their problem?

The longhorns were beautiful... but a bit scary too. Donkeys... they weren't interested or cared after they made their way into the other side of this huge pasture and saw they had acres and acres of grass.

It started raining and it was cold... so we said goodbye, tried to stop and call out to the boys, but they were in the chowing down zone on grass and didn't even look up at us. Will miss them terribly, but wow they have a huge piece of land to live on with a sweet family.

Now Sunday.. we had a little more excitement.

You see I guess Miss Cocoa met some new girlfriends while visiting the neighbors property... and she invited them to visit our property it seemed.

We went to breakfast and when returning we had visitors. Hubby tried to move them back to where we think they got through but nope they were enjoying the grass on our side of the fence. So we called our neighbor and he came out and worked on his side of the fence and did a head count to make sure all his girls were back where they were suppose to be. Cocoa has stayed put on our side, we think.... Nice to have friends on the other side of the fence, but we had to explain to Cocoa that they need to stay on their side and she has to stay on hers!

Was a bit different dealing with cows this week. Great animals for the neighbors, but I think we will stick to donkeys and goats. Don't mean to offend anyone... but cows, well they just don't seem to be the sharpest, you know?

Hope you enjoyed a few cows this week... Have a wonderfully blessed weekend -

High Hopes Stamps - Hog Happy Party

Howdy -

Things are in full Party swing at High Hopes Stamps - This month the release is the Party Time Release! Lots of fun here!

This week I had some fun with Hog Happy Party -

Now I guess I need to explain that this little sleeping pig... you see the stamp is normally upright and holding the balloon in the air. But for some reason I thought he would look cute laying over and sleeping! I colored with my Copics (colors below) and then added lots of stickles to the ballon. I also cut the image out with a round nestie and cut out the balloon and pop dotted it up so it has a bit of floating look to it. Hard to photograph... Now for my layout I loosely followed the sketch for this months High Hopes Challenge -

Make sure you give the sketch a try and join the fun at High Hopes Blog and maybe you will win some new goodies!

I used two new sentiments on my card as well.. Fabulous size and script for these two! "Sorry I missed it" and "Happy Birthday Script". The edges of everything were inked up with Rangers Distressed Linen and a few enamel dots added to the band across the bottom.

Inside more of the same papers.

Animal Crackers - Bad Bad Cocoa....

Howdy -

Well this week Miss Cocoa has been a very bad girl.

Cocoa is one of our standard Donkeys that roam on their own around the farm. She is the leader... of course she is, being the Woman... Valentine and Teddy (the guys) usually just go, do and follow wherever she leads. You can see it in their walk when they really don't want to leave where they are... but when Cocoa is ready to move on to a new spot... they just must follow. Well that was until this past week. You see Cocoa was a very very very bad girl. And I think the boys knew it was a big no no what she was doing and they didn't go... where you ask? Well you see our neighbor has cows, and a very brushy pasture that runs the length of our property. An old wire fence is our property line. But he has a hot wire a few feet onto his property to make sure his cattle don't just walk through that old fence. Well at some point in a storm recently the hot wire seems to have been knocked down and was no longer hot. Cocoa decided that she wanted a little privacy from the two guys that are always on her tail. So she found a spot in the fence where she could move the wires and stepped under and went for a little stroll on the neighbors property. Now she didn't do this once... twice... even three times. We know of at least four times she has gone on these little trips!! The boys while she is gone... well they flip out! They run, they hee and haw, and basically sound like the world is coming to end. Great little warning that she is being bad! They are great tattlers! Well Hubby has patched up the fence where she has her special path, and we are looking at doing a bit of rework on other areas of the fence. Cocoa will need to learn to stay home. I really don't think she wants to meet the neighbors Bull.... he is BIG and SCARY!

Sweet photo of Gabby and Patti...

With the look in Patti's eyes I think she was gossiping about Cocoa getting in trouble. You know how ladies like to talk about the other gals sometimes... LOL

Crissy was watching us call out and chase down Cocoa and thinking... I am staying right here in this goat pen... safe in here!

In reality if she could get past her fence to more green grass she would be out in a second. But she is much much safer to stay put!

Vicki was coming at me in this one for some head scratches. Such a beautiful lady...

And then one more this week. One of Hubby's Guineas has been hobbling a few days...

Thinking maybe she and one of the goats got into it? She is doing better now but really had the wobble walk for a while. Is it just me or are those dots moving? Man they can give you a headache if you stare at those feathers! Don't stare at the feathers! LOL

Hope you have a wonderfully blessed day.. us, well will be a bit sad this afternoon as Patricio and Flavio will be leaving and going to their new home. Love spreading donkey love, but it just kills me for my babies to leave. I am sure there will be a few tears for me later today... But they will be loved.

Hugs and
