Dust If Off Sunday - Freaky Tiki Birthday?

Hi! Today's card took me literally 10 minutes to make. Now I cheated some, the image I found in my drawer already colored ;0)  So I dusted it off and used it for today's card! I don't even remember coloring it... so it has been awhile!

I adore this image, it is just too funny - and great for those guy birthday cards. This is Freaky Tiki Birthday - by Rubbernecker Stamps

I took this one bold and bright didn't I? The papers are from DCWV - and have glitter on them. I went a bit simple due to the bright colors and all. A red satin ribbon is my only "embellishment". But I did have fun with my stickles......
It is hard to see... but I added lots of colors of stickles to this one. Really sparkles baby!
Was fun to just go with one and find the image and have a card in such a short time. Most cards I spend way to long on.

Hope you have a fun Sunday - and remember to DUST OFF an older image and have some fun with it.

Animal Crackers - Moving Pictures

This week I have something a bit different. Ok... so I was lazy. I had the WORST headache yesterday afternoon. I went out and tried to take a few photos. Then my camera died... dumb batteries. They sure to go fast lately, wonder if they are going bad? I don't know. Anyway I decided I would just be lazy and get my phone out and take a few fair photos with it, cuz by the time my camera charges - it would be dark.

Hubby decided he was going to go ahead and feed the goats. A little early, but hey they are always happy to have dinner, and better early for them than late! Light bulb went off in my head! Hey I could video the goats at dinner. I look forward to this time of the night, everyone is so funny finding their place in the dinner lines. And the babies... well they just have some fun and enjoy life while Mom's are busy eating. It is a special joy to see Scarlet and Rhett playing so hard, so you see them more than anyone :0) And they are the cutest at playing right now. Louie joins in a bit.... he is at the stage where he thinks he might want to eat grain with the bigger goats, but he really enjoys the playing too -

So here are some moving photos for you  -

Makes you smile doesn't it? Even with my head pounding I totally enjoy my time out there with them. Hubby is going to love that I captured him in his shorts and work boots! LOL

It was a hard week with the animals this week... Carlos and Paco left on Sunday and reports say they are adjusting well and enjoying their new surroundings. I love that we are close and can get progress reports!

Then yesterday Sweetie ( or Puppy 2 ) left us. I know she will be happy in her new family, but darn it is hard to loose them. Hubby would have 100 in our house if we could. When we came back in from waving goodbye to Sweetie and her new owners, he came in and picked up Precious and said... "It is ok with me if no one wants to buy you - you can live here with us forever" ... and this is why we have over 60 animals :0)  - He is a sucker for them, and would be perfectly happy if we never had to get rid of any of them. I love that in him... a big heart  :0)

I have a few photos stuck in my camera... I'll show them off next week - and I'll get more for you. But I hope you enjoyed some moving pictures as something a bit different - OH and my head is a bit better ... I think it is the weather - Dumb tropical storm Don... didn't come where we needed it! Maybe the next one will give us rain -

HUGS and have a wonderful Saturday -

Just Magnolias and Hanglars - Buttons, Bows and Blooms!

Sad Sad Sad day in our house... Today we loose one of the puppies. I hate it. But we can't keep them all. Can We? No of course not. Right? Man I hate this. But I know that the "new family" is going to love her. Sigh...

Ok it is Friday and that is Just Magnolias and Hanglars day, and this weeks challenge is Buttons Bows and Blooms. Love the three together! I dug though my Tilda's and found a girlie girl that I haven't used in a while. And of course I wanted her to have some blooms in her hands for the challenge.

Isn't she pretty?
Tilda is colored with copics. But then for that shimmer look I painted over her dress, shoes and hat with shimmerz. Love that stuff. I love how real it makes the veil look.

Then I went to work on my card. For the patter papers I used My Minds Eye Lost and Found Madison Avenue collection. Really love all of the Lost and Found papers!
I punched a border twice with Martha Stewart's Cherry Blossom border punch. Then I wrapped with a pink satin dotted ribbon, with a "bow" - that is one. The I added three mulberry flowers above the Papertrey Ink Happy Birthday sentiment - "bloom" - that is two then I needed buttons.  I tried them everywhere, every size and color. NOTHING worked. So I just gave up and just used three tiny buttons on the bottom - ok... "buttons" that was three.  It needed more, so I went ahead and added a bit of bling - adhesive pink rhinestones on all the cherry blossoms!

Make sure to visit Just Magnolias and Hanglars and see all the DT's beautiful cards - then join us for a chance at another great prize this week!

Now.. I am going to go and love on a certain puppy - don't have much longer with Sweetie - so I want to cuddle as long as I can. I am thinking it is going to be a long weekend with the other puppy too... once one is gone, that other one is going to be really lonely in the puppy pen. I think I am going to have to let her out to be with her Mom, Dad and older Sister more. Floors clean up right?

Have a wonderful Friday!

Me and My Space - My New Bookshelf for all my Paper!

Ok.. whine whine whine... I didn't get my craft room all pretty and clean for this weeks post. Sorry... tough week, and I am working on it, but it just didn't get finished. I so wanted to have it done, but life just had other plans this past week. Goats mainly... but at this moment all is good with all the fur children so back to my craft room.

Hubby bought me a new bookshelf from IKEA last week. I was so excited as I can finally have all my paper storage in one place. I had a wonderful antique library cabinet that I stored paper in and I do love it, but it just wasn't practical - so I moved that into our bedroom and will use it as a quilt storage (another collection of mine.. I have a ton of interest huh?) Anyway back to my new bookshelf. We put it together and finally got it into place. Then I went nuts sorting an putting everything in its proper place. I so love it!

Not an easy place in my room to get a photo let me tell you... it is the corner behind my craft desk.
I am just so excited that it all fit! I had paper stored everywhere before this shelf. Now each shelf has its own purpose! The bottom is all my "loose" 12x12 pattern paper. Most of this is from my scrapbooking days, and one day when I have spare time I plan to sort through it and pass on a bunch of these. Going up the shelves, I then have my card stock, then 6x6 stacks, and then 8x8 stacks, then 12 x12 stacks... top shelf and top of the unit is my unmounted stamp storage now... well some of my unmounted stamp storage. :0)

The drawer cabinet sitting next to it, I don't think that will stay there. But until puppy daycare is done, and all cleaned up it has to stay here. No room to move it at this time.

Now I got one other thing at IKEA for my craft room... I have always wanted a board to hang my cards - ones just finished, favorites and ones that come to me from friends. I found this metal board at IKEA and it is dry erase board. Hubby hung it on my closet door for me behind my desk and I love it. Now... I have to remember to not let my chair stay back away from my desk and against the door... Gato, my cat, well she likes my new magnetic board too.... those clip magnets... you see they swivel - so when you swat at them it makes the cards really swing back and forth. And that is just way cool for a cat I guess :0 )

So back to sorting and putting things away I guess - I do have a pretty good stack going to charity. And more stamps and such to add to my For Sale page. I just need  - oh about 6 more hours a day to get it all done!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Simply Romantic – Vintage Bunnies with Chanson d’amour

Today I wanted to share a card I made a few weeks back. It is an Anniversary card for a friend. I just adore Vintage Bunnies from the Laurence Collection. So adorable, and just so romantic! I was thinking about the newer Vintage Collection, Chanson d’amour - and how wonderful it would be as a pattern paper… so I did just that, I stamped the image over and over with snow white ink on dark red card stock. A great background for two in love bunnies don’t you think?

Red and white was the total theme as I got going on the card. My corners are Martha Stewart border punches cut to triangles for the each corner. Red buttons tied with red and white bakers twine. The image is colored with Copics, and then edged with red Copic – matted with a Spellbinders Nestie. Was really simple, much simpler than normal, but it there just doesn’t seem to be anything else to add – I love the Vintage Chanson d’amour peeking through.

So have you taken a look at your stamps recently and thought of them as their own pretty pattern papers? Takes them to a new level! And a new use!

Hope you enjoyed my Romantic card :0)

Update on the baby goats.... Scarlet and Rhett are both doing GREAT! Yesterday evening they were out in the pen with Mom. Bopping around, happy and even taking a few turns learning to climb on the rocks, despite Mom grunting and telling them to get back over by her. Was absolutely wonderful to sit and watch!

Have a wonderful Monday - Hugs and-

Dust It Off Sunday - Travel Journal

Today I thought I would show you a project I made for the Stampavie Creations Newsletter. You do get the newsletter don't you? If not... As soon as you are done here :0) POP over to STAMPAVIE and sign up - really is a gorgeous FREE newsletter that you get emailed straight from Stampavie. This months newsletter is just jaw dropping gorgeous inspiration! Really... I mean really did you see Jing's Cake on the cover! Is there anything better than combining your favorite stamps and CAKE! :00  And then once you start scrolling inside the newsletter - man! This DT really rocks! LOL sorry... I know I am on this DT and I am not talking me... I just am floored at the cool things the girls come up with!

Ok... back to my Travel Journal - The stamp I used is Stampavie's Laurence Collections Explorer. Not an old stamp - was just released in January. So I didn't dust it off to use it, and I know this is my Dust It Off Sunday post... but I did dust off most all the supplies I used for this project! For the image I colored with my Copics - and then used lots of Stickles for all of the treasures!
I started with a composition notebook. About 5 years ago I got a ton of these on clearance for 5 cents a piece! My stash is getting lower now... need to keep an eye for a sale like that again! I covered it with kraft card stock and rounded the corners. That awesome vintage French print paper is from 7 gypsies, I have had it for a while, it is large tissue paper. I got it and put it on the shelf.... had no idea what to use it for. Then my Travel Journal! I totally love the vintage look it gives it. Worn and almost leather like. I inked the edges once glued down. To cover the black binding of the notebook, cuz the black just doesn't match at all, I dug through my stash and found brown Gaffer tape I purchased years back. Love this stuff - wish I had it in every color! But luckily the brown matches perfect!

There is a raffia looking ribbon across the middle - had forever, never can pull off using it on cards - but this... was perfect. I printed off the internet a vintage map from a free photo share site, and then dug through my old Scrapbook supplies and found a small flash card with the plane and travel log on it. I have no idea when or where I got it... but it is cool and again perfect! I tore the edges and inked it. Behind the image, I placed a piece of Tim Holtz Glassine paper, wrinkled for that cool old look. And then it needed some "fun" pieces. Embellishments that went along with the vintage, travel feel.... I found some old large brads, another Tim Holtz product the metal journey tag, and then the wood scrabble letters to spell out Memories. Seriously... all of these things I have had forever and did have to literally dust them off! I added some ruffled velvet ribbon down the edge and then sat looking at it. It needed something else. But what? And I looked up and saw my little watch makers box... A VINTAGE WATCH FACE! yep... perfect!

Had a lot of fun making this journal - just one tiny problem.... I never travel! LOL I would love to really I would, but with a million animals it isn't easy to go places.... what will I do with this now?

Have a wonderful Sunday! Today - Hubby and I are hauling in round hay bales! Fun....  but the donkeys really appreciate it.

Animal Crackers - Baby It's HOT out there...

It has been another rough week with the goats. I really hate to report that Ashley baby one was just too weak. I keep telling myself that it was a miracle that he survived the 14 hour birthing, but it still guts me when we loose one. Between him being so weak and the heat, it was just too much. I had a few ask if it was normal to have triplets. Yes, in fact Paintbrushes last babies were quads. Quads - Triplets and Twins are all pretty normal. And with normal temps we would never have lost all the babies we have this year. A tragic part of "ranching" and having livestock. But it just totally guts me - I hate it....   But lets move on to happier news.

Scarlet and Rhett have been hot. and weak, but they are doing much better - stronger and Wednesday evening they were actually bouncing around the pen a bit, and looking like "normal" little kids. Made my heart feel so wonderful to watch. I got up early Friday morning to get photos before it got hot -
Scarlet.  She is stunning isn't she. I think she is going to end up a gorgeous, red girl. I think her name is just perfect!

Now Rhett... hmm... well Isn't there an Actress named Rhett?? Hubby and I have been going nuts trying to figure out who "she" was... you see.... well the Vet Tech is the one that checked off Boy or Girl as the babies were born. I never "peeked" to check for myself that morning. Well You see... Rhett... "he" is a "she"!!!!!! Now we loved him as a boy, but as a GIRL!! WOW, she is stunning with blue eyes and WE CAN KEEP HER! (remember all boys have to go) I tried and tried to get her to get up and come out of their barn for some cuter photos, but she wanted to sleep in.....
After I took all my photos and went back in, I looked out the window and saw her bouncing around. Figures... But she is still totally gorgeous! I am still checking on them every couple of hours, especially during the hottest part of the day. Hubby says I am just worrying too much, these two are going to be fine, but really do you blame me?

How about a totally healthy little dude?
Louie... Our little 4th of July baby. OH this guy is a little stud in the making. He thinks he is 10 feet tall, and runs the pen. Thinks he runs the pen. We don't tell him differently, it is just too cute to watch him. I have nick named him... Bobby Hill.. LOL do you know who he is? Ok if you do that is funny....  short and stout.

Donkeys...
Mr. Carlos - well this weekend we have a gentleman coming to see him. Him and one other little boy - he wants to purchase two guys to run with his cattle. We are going to miss Carlos and whatever little guy is chosen to go with him. But this is the nature of "raising animals" and OH my these guys are going to have a fabulous new ranch to live at. So I am happy for them, and happy that our overcrowded Frat house will have a little space. I'll let you know who ends up moving on with Carlos next week --

I went over to the Sorority pen to visit the gals...
Lydia... wow she is turning red! And just gorgeous. Her Mom Lacey has a touch of red look to her, but I still can't believe how pretty Lydia's coat is turning. You really can't totally know for sure their coloring until they are a couple of years old, and loose their baby fur.
Her best buddy is Marissa... Look at that face, love those spots. Raffie does make pretty spotted babies doesn't he, well I guess Marissa's Mom gets credit too... she is Pattie, our big spotted female. Guess they make a good pair. Cuz Marissa is a pretty thing!
I looked up and all the other girls had surrounded some fresh hay that "Dad" had just thrown into the pen. MMM yummy... fresh green hay...

and even if they don't "need" it - they get to roam the entire property and have their choice of anything. "Dad" always makes sure to give our Three Standard Stooges breakfast every morning. (the term is lovingly used.. three stooges you know)
Puppies... ok, now this photo looks so sad - the following two photos look so sad. But sometimes things are necessary - even puppy prison.
You see, now escape over the top of the doorway to their puppy pen. So the gate must remained closed... Look at that pout...  You think this face is sad??? take a look at this one....

Oh I so want to let them both out and just let them have total run of my house! I know be strong - Darn they are cute! Precious is still available... any one interested?

I still let Libbie into the pen :0) She is still feeding them some, not as much, she is weaning them. But she still needs some Mommy time right? About 2 minutes and she is barking to be let out though... Mom is just about ready to let these kids leave her nest. Almost.......

Hope you all have a wonderful Weekend -

Just Magnolias and Hanglars - Cooking!

Wow what a week... yesterday I was working along thinking wow I still have a couple of days to get things done before the weekend... and then duh... it wasn't Wednesday, it was Thursday! Where the heck did Wednesday go? Man I have been just totally lost this week.

I did manage to get my Just Magnolias and Hanglars project done, again this week not what I saw in my head, but I am happy that I even thought of this for the challenge this week. The challenge? Cooking... anything related to cooking on your projects. I somehow my mushy brain saw a scrapbook page for my 8x8 album. A recipe page! With one of my favorite Family recipes. Grandma Howell's Pralines! MMMM ok, so not on Weight Watchers approved list, but oh these things are soooo good!

Grandma made them when I was little, and now I make them every year at Christmas. My tradition now I guess.

I started off by making copies of Grandma's recipe card. Yes, it is stained, and dirty with years of baking around them. But I totally love this recipe card, in Grandma's handwriting as a gift to me when I married - wow nearly 25 years ago!
Then I found a couple of October Afternoon pattern papers, with wonderful vintage kitchen items on them. Layered with kraft card stock and pink card stock. All Zig Zag stitched together, then I stamped out Hanglar's kitchen cabinet ready for baking. All colored with Copics. A satin ribbon around the entire thing, for Grandma - she would have loved the added ribbon. Other than that there wasn't a lot of room for anything else, other than the title that I printed out and matted.

Now I am thinking it would be good to do this with a few more of our family recipes - "save" them in a different format you could say, right? And Food is an important part of our family too!

Hope you have a wonderful Friday  - see you tomorrow for Animal Crackers!

Me and My Space - Postponed due to a VERY long Birth!!

Sorry -
Sorry I am so late today, and Sorry that today's planned (in my head) post for Me and My Space just didn't get done - you see I spent ALL night Monday night in the goat pen. Yep... all night. Paintbrush went into labor about 10PM... was in labor all night.... she was having big trouble. As soon as the Vet was open they came out, and found the problem. The first baby was breech and stuck. VERY Stuck. So Stuck we thought that Paint was going to have to have a C-section. But after one more try... and "knowing" that after that long that baby was probably not alive... we got the baby out. BUT IT WAS ALIVE!!! And the next two were healthy as well! Yes... we had three babies! Well.. Paintbrush had three babies, but I felt like I had them too!! Long night..... Then a long day -

After the vet tech left... I realized that Paint was not letting them eat! So I tried and tried to "help" them... but couldn't all alone. Can't hold Mom and help babies... so I made a bottle and tried that... nope they didn't want that - they wanted MOM!

So Hubby came home early - and at 5pm we were finally getting the babies to eat! Success!! All three got a good healthy meal! And now that the pressure is off of Mom, she is letting them eat freely. Whew....

But me and my brain... we were mush. Couldn't function. And my adorable sweet Hubby... he even let me sleep late this morning... Not that I should have as I now have to fit two days of things on my list done today :0)

Ok... I tried to get a few photos - two of them were ready and adorable. But that first little one, well... he is looking better this morning and I'll get shots for Animal Crackers of him. But how about some smiles for the other two. Hubby says these are some of the prettiest kids our goats have had...

So there were two boys.. and one girl....
Here is the girl!
She is a stunning red little girl.... we named her Scarlet :0)
And the little boy.....
Yes... I named him Rhett :0) He is super friendly and very confident!
And their tiny little brother... Well I had to name him Ashley - I so kept hoping that there was a fourth .. another girl... oh well... the three make a great Gone with the Wind package! Sorry they are still a mess in the photos.. born in the dirt -

I'll have more and better photos for Animal Crackers on Saturday - and sorry that we all missed Me and My Space this week. But common... it was worth it wasn't it?

Spoon Full of Sugar - Tags -

oops... blogger scheduler did it again!! Went live instead of scheduling - enjoy Tuesday's post early :0)
This week at a Spoon Full of Sugar we have a two week challenge, a little longer than normal for a bit of summer time break. But it is such a great challenge. TAGS - These are so fun to make, and a bit of a change from our normal cards. Me... I decided it was past time for me to get to play with some new Papertrey Ink stamps that I have.

First I should tell you I love - love - vintage metal kitchen things. Including Metal picnic baskets. I have a couple would have a hundred if I had the space. So when I saw the adorable picnic basket stamp set with matching dies... well just had to come to me right?

There are a few different patterned baskets with this set, but I adore those polka-dots! There are also lots of different "things" that you can fill your basket with. I chose the flowers for my project. - So I colored my basket with Copics, then put them together.  Then I decided that I had some new Maya Road flowers, they come white... I colored them with the same Copics! Now they match! And I added them to the basket for a 3-d look! Love it! Now to work on the tag...

I cut out my tag shape out of kraft card stock. I was trying to decide if I wanted to cover it with pattern paper... when I remembered a background stamp on my wall... the same type of flowers as what was in my basket!! The stamp is a photo stamp of flowers, by Outliners Rubber Stamp Company. Papertrey Ink White Snow ink - really gorgeous on that kraft card stock! And the perfect background for my basket. White gel pen stitching seemed right as well.. Lol
The Sentiment is also from Papertrey ink...   I then added a large button and green polka dot satin ribbon...also from Papertrey ink!

I had some fun with the tag, and I have a green gift sack that I think it will be the perfect tag on :0)

So now you can pop over to A Spoon Full of Sugar and see all the DT's work. And then join us, it is a two week challenge this time so you have time...

Back to my work now... trying to clean up the house and find my craft room... I don't know if I am going to make it for tomorrows Me and My Space, but I am making progress! Lets see how today goes....

Stampavie has a new release! Here is Autumn Fun!

Is it totally exciting when there is a new release or what??? I love new stamps, and this release has LOTS and LOTS of fun images! and… SENTIMENTS! Yep… There are Winter/Christmas sentiments this release!

I had an adorable photo I wanted to create a scrapbook page, and as soon as I saw “Autumn Fun” in the Laurence collection I thought it was perfect for my page!

Ready for cute puppies??? You have seen the photo here before, but now a Scrapbook page...
They just make you happy all over. And I had to scrap this photo! My papers for this 8×8 scrapbook page are from Websters Pages, along with a Martha Stewart border punch and a satin ribbon. Very girlie for these two little girls :0)

The title for my Scrapbook page is printed directly onto the  photo.
I colored Autumn Fun with Copics, trying to color to look like our doggies… LOL Tri-color Toy Australian Shepherds, close I think. Maybe?

Hopefully it makes you happy too – Really – Is there anything happier than watching Puppies Play?

Make sure to visit our new release page HERE and see all the yummy images! AND SENTIMENTS!

Have a great Day... See you Tomorrow :0)

Dust It Off Sunday - Seed Packet?

I got a chance to play with one of my Papertrey Ink sets. I had to have this set when I saw it. I just Love vintage seed packets. Always have - and as soon as I saw this set I fell in love with it. Here is my first "Seed Packet" of my own.

This set is so fun cuz it comes with lots of little pieces to create your own versions. I went all vintage with my first - Very Simple, but I love how it came out. I used kraft card stock, and cream colored card stock. They have a die for the little envelope, and to cut out the center. I used an acetate for the "window". And don't you totally love the little tools? Yes they have the stamps, and then dies to cut those out too!!!

And don't worry there are stamps for the back too....
Cute huh?? I can see this with lots of pattern papers, and lots of different stamps to create more seed packets then I could dream of. LOL Wouldn't this be a great little gift card holder :0)

Hope you have a wonderful Sunday! Spending the day with Hubby and friends, lunch out and maybe some shopping or such,  should be fun!

Animal Crackers - Bye Bye Sweetie Bye Bye

Yep... one of the puppies has been sold. Sweetie, or Puppy 2. Now she isn't physically gone yet, she still has two weeks or so before she is old enough to go. But I am already missing her! I adore both of the girls, really I do. But Chunk "a fondly used nickname", Chunk and I have a bond. :0)

I took some great photos of the girls yesterday, they had their first real outdoor playtime. It was too funny watching them in the grass. But first a few face shots while held by "Dad".

Sweetie first -
Gorgeous huh? And sold.. pout pout... I know I can't keep them all... my house shows that!

Precious now...
OH my... you think it is going to take long to find another person that wants her? She is the calmer of the two... LOVES to be held.

And then I had to show their big Sister, Chica.... she was having fun just watching them in the grass here... She is a stunning girl herself! But she is all ours... she isn't going anywhere :0)
Here is Precious after a few minutes outside... it was already hot and it wasn't even 9:30 in the morning... she wanted back in to the air conditioning!! She was hiding in the shade of a bucket here
Her face looks so skinny here... LOL maybe it was all that panting!
But Sweetie was hiding at that same time in my shade...
Yep... she was hiding next to my foot in my shade - Man ... look at that tongue! They learned about the outside water bowl after these photos. You would think we had them out there for hours! It was about 20 minutes, again it was already in the mid 90's.

Got a great Goat photo... of Belle -
Those eyes just kill me! The see your deepest thoughts! Really I think they do! LOL

Went for some donkey photos then. And already they were all in the shade. We love our huge Oak Tree... so do the donkeys -
This tree gives off tons of shade for this pen, and they take full advantage of it!

Jolene actually braved the sun to come for some lovin' She is so stunning when she sheds out. That shiny dark hair, and face. And yes... she is pretty pregnant here - We "think" a couple of months. But with Jolene, she can just deliver and surprise us with no warning signs.
Then we went to the little girls pen. Here Gloria and Lina were wanting the first lovings -
They are all just too sweet. I just adore each and every one of them! Selling any of them just kill me - but I keep telling my self they will spread the love and someone else will have the joy I do.

Hope you enjoyed Animal Crackers today - I got a few good shots this week. The heat just doesn't help with playful happy animals.... or photographers!! We all like it better when it is cooler.
