Animal Crackers - Chica here...

Howdy -

Ok So I missed last week.... and this week I have Chica here....

Hoping this sweet little face makes you smile. And forgive me. This week ain't much better. It's been a rough week and well just can't get things all done.

Prayers for my Mom please. She has been pretty sick and in the hospital all week. Getting her home this weekend, and hopefully healthier!

Also this week AC went out AGAIN... have a plan LMNOP for that but had to do without for a few days. But happy to report that is all better now and at this point should not be an issue any further! Please no more issues with that!

So we are hoping and praying that things will start looking a bit more like normal. Ferrari and McLarren will be very please with that! All though the day the windows were up that tiny bit while "Dad" was working on things was a very interesting day around here! LOL

So many smells and louder noises!

So forgive the very short post this week. But hey I got one on this week! But off to see Mom!

Have a blessed weekend - HUGS

Animal Crackers - Round Bales

Howdy -

It's that time of year - We brought in round bales for the ladies pen in the back. There is nothing for them to eat back there now. It is all pretty much dead now. And they eat our square bales way to fast, so round bales as much as they cost are better for the larger group of ladies. All though I do wish they would step away from the buffet for a bit now and then! Sigh...

They stick those head in and chow down! I finally got Patti to turn and look at me for a photo. She snorted at me then went right back to her hole and started eating again.

Found Chipmunk snorting as well... He was really in a mood! Flirting big time with the girl goats! Who didn't give a care at all that he was working so hard to get their attention. Was really kind of sad... Poor guy. Snorting, Rolling his Lip, Banging his horns on the fence... and then finally giving up and going to lay in the shade. Dumb Girls....

Went to see the Chickens. Our neighbors have LOTS of chickens, and LOTS of Roosters. Who "visit" quite often and make lots of noise. My girls try and ignore them. But you know how hard that can be with obnoxious young boys ... especially for the older ladies like Spec.

We really don't now how old she is.. she was full grown when we got her and we have had her for years now. We love her, she is such a sweet friendly chicken.

The other chickens are great - but none are sweet as Spec... ;0)

Now Hubby and I needed our little cooler this last week. Pulled it out and left it on the kitchen floor. Um..... I think Bubba likes it and decided it was a very soft bed! But then again he will sleep nearly anywhere!

Hope you enjoyed this week and have another Animal Cracker Smiles!

Animal Crackers - Sitting out with Hubby

Howdy -

Was sitting out with Hubby while he was working the other day - the three stooges came to see what was going on. They are so curious you know. Teddy bear came up closest first and I said boy come here! What is all over you!!

Oh my Big Guy! Where have you stuck you nose! Heck your entire Face!

Poor Guy has tiny little stickers all over his face!! And neck!! I sat there and picked off as many as I could as long as he would let me. Got about 1/2 of them and then he saw that "Dad" was coming with a bit of hay for the three of them so he said "Thank you" but food was more important than the troubling stickers. And he took off to the feed rack. Lol Funny man!

I went over to chat with Jorge for a bit. He was being very very vocal. And very loud! So I gave him some attention. And then we chatted some about his very impressive whiskers. He really does have the most impressive whiskers!! hehe

Next I headed over to check on the goats. Only three lady goats now. Penelope and Lizzy were chillin' in the shade of the tree. But then I heard Jackie banging her horns on the hut. And doing some damage as well! I explained that she knocks another roof off before winter she is going to regret it! Yea right... She knows Dad will go in and fix it...

Then a quick look to check on the lady donkeys. Couldn't find Vickie for a bit... Then I saw her white head pop out. She was hiding deep in the shade of the brush to stay cool!

Smart Vickie! I called out to her to get her to come out and see me. Nope she was just fine where she was, especially since I had no snacks for her. Snacks make the world move you know.

Hope you have your Saturday Animal Crackers Smile! Have a wonderful Weekend -

Animal Crackers - Sweet Face

Howdy -

Quick Post today - Running Late to get to work. And most everyone was head deep in breakfast. I went out and Cocoa actually let me talk and give her a head rub. That is a nice big plus for to start the day. So sweet.

She must have already been out grazing most of the morning as she was sweaty. But she realized that breakfast was there so she headed over for that! yummy! Valentine didn't want to look up at all for me as you can see!

I got a pretty photo of Chica - All shiny and clean! She got a bath late the day before. Boy this girl HATES bath time!!

But once done she bounces all over the house, happy and clean. And she sleeps so well!! So pretty!

I snapped this photo the other day... It always cracks me up to find one of the kitties laying in their window bed watching the donkeys just outside the window.

I sat there for a long while hoping that one of the donkeys would turn around... sometimes they will come up to the window and put their head against the window to look in... it is a total stare down at that point. Really funny to watch. LOL One day I will get that photo!!

This next photo is Bitter Sweet. End of the day last bales to load.

A great feeling - The last few bales of hay in the field to gather up for the barn. The last bales of the year. So we now we pray we that we have plenty of hay for the winter all put up and ready. It is a great feeling to see a full barn -

Sorry a little short this week. October is our busy month, and this year they moved our show up a week so we seem to be a bit more behind than normal. Oh well we work well in a panic right? LOL

Hope you have an Animal Crackers Smiles! And we pray for all those effected by the Hurricane - People and Animals!

Animal Crackers - Early Morning

Howdy -

Didn't make it out yesterday to get photos. Worked to late and then it just got to dark. So I got up early this morning and went out to get some photos before breakfast. You know if they get fed I get no faces at all! LOL

Lacey came up first this morning. Such a sweet girl and my is she getting grey!

Love her personality and her long long ears! So sweet. But watch out charging up behind her is Juliet!!!

Full speed this big girl loves to front and center for the attention. Ears back is get out of my way I'm coming through... seriously.... I snapped quick cuz I knew what the next view would be -

EXTREME CLOSE UP!

This girl cracks me up! She loves to her nose scratches and to have 110% of the attention that is for sure! I gave her lots of scratches and then tried to move on to Macey ... but oh my look out Macey... Juliet is coming up behind you!!

I got one photo of Macey and about 10 seconds of ear scratches and Juliet was front and center again. LOL It takes two to get photos some days... one to take the photos and one to entertain Juliet!

So moving on to the goat pen was next. I found Lizzy doing some early morning back scratches... must have felt pretty good she was really doing a dance against that hut base!

But Surprisingly after that she walked towards me and then let me love on her. She is so moody most of the time but this morning was a good morning and I got her good side!

Thought I would show off the tomatoes

... Now the plants are not the prettiest, but hey these are Hubby's Spring Tomatoes.... he cut back and brought back through the summer. And man the tomatoes have been coming on strong!! And really that is all that matters right! YUM YUM!!!

Hope you have wonderful weekend plans - And that you enjoyed Animal Crackers and have a smile on your face! If not... go back and take a look at Juliet again!

Animal Crackers - Silly Silly Silly

Howdy -

Out taking a few photos and saw Chipmunk using his tongue to reach out and grab the limbs he couldn't reach through the fence. Very resourceful! and Silly!

I just love this boy he is just so funny! Great personality Big Guy!

Then I hear this little sad moan... Oh my Darlene you are not starving to death! You may be hungry but not starving!

This is the sad sad face of an old lady watching "Dad" very closely to see if she is getting her old people gruel anytime soon... and yes it was coming very soon....

Now this is a very different sad look...

This is Raphael "Raffie" Our Smiling Donkey, our Stud. This is him with a longing stare through his fence at the "Women" off in their pen. He so wants some women in his pen. No worries Raffie we have discussed it Raffie, and it is starting to cool off and it is almost time to give you some girlfriends for your bachelors pad!

And one we are discussing to be one of those girlfriends... is Miss Bella!! She is such a good Momma and we are hoping that we can get a pretty little spotted girl maybe????

Healthy is the main prayer... Girl is the next prayer... spots are the next prayer.. he he he

Speaking of pretty spotted girl - Penelope was chilling in the shade watching everything going on. Such a sweet girl and so very pretty.

Being a goat is such a busy tough life... LOL

Speaking of tough life... McLaren was really having a hard time napping on "Dad's" lap. He was watching F1 Racing and it gets loud.. so you have to cover your face to sleep I suppose. But hey that is where the kitties got their names so they really need to appreciate it at least a little right?

Funny Kitties... Heck Funny Animals all around. They are all so entertaining!

Hope you have your Animal Crackers Smiles!

Animal Crackers - Sweet noses

Howdy -

Visiting the girls after getting a load of hay, the youngest were really wanting attention! Hannah was the first to push her way thru the fence to get her loving! Such a sweet girl!

Josie, Hannah's little shadow was right behind her... her eyes are so expressive! And usually not quite as pushy as Hannah she really does love the attention just as much. But being smaller than her slightly older 1/2 sister she is usually a step behind Hannah.

Last week we shared the men in their front pen while enjoying their hay. With a little bit of rain comes some growth of a tiny green grass.... that means they love to leave the hay and graze!!

There is nothing more peaceful than watching my donkeys grazing...

Speaking of peaceful.... Our kitties love to spend their time in the window beds... LOL

Very Relaxed...  LOL She woke up just as I snapped the photo... this is the "Mom why are you taking another photo of me?" Look.

Snapped this photo coming out the back door the other morning to send to Hubby.... LOL He hates these! Do you have Walking Sticks where you live?

I think they are kind of cool... but he says they are evil... LOL

Hope you enjoyed this week - and have your Animal Crackers Smile!

Animal Crackers - Day Late

Howdy -

Oops... Got working on a project in the house and well... days got away from me. One little project and now my house is all torn up and things are a big can of worms! But will be all worth it when done. Anyway the day got away from me and I didn't get my post done on time to go out on time yesterday. Guess that is just how life is lately. I'll do my best but things may from time to time go hay wire! Just how my life is now.  LOL

This week Hubby and I were up with the "Men" just after 7 am with their breakfast feeding. Always can count on some happy faces when they have been fed first thing in the morning.

Miguel and Flavio stopped and posed for the camera. Handsome men that is for sure! And looking  a little bulky too... he he

But that is ok guys will be good to keep you warm this winter right?

Now Diego... he didn't want to stop eating to have his photo taken. Chewing but finally did look over at us... Hey at least we got a glance during his meal.

The most skittish is always our man Patricio "Pat Man" But Hubby has a way with him and he stood and let him get a photo and then let him rub all over him. That makes me happy.

He was such a sweet friendly baby... then sold. When we rescued him back to keep him and Flavio from going to auction he was very skittish it has taken a long while for him to be as calm as he is. And really Hubby is the only one he will let rub on him most of the time. I occasionally can scratch between his ears and talk to him. But we do love him and I am so glad that he can live here stress free and happy now.

Lately we have been having lots of little feet prints on the trucks... hmmmm never had that before even with always having outside kitties. Hubby sent me this photo the other day to show me proof that it was both Greybeard and Momma that was guilty -

Not that they would ever be in trouble of course! LOL Hubby could never get mad at his kitties!

I just had to take a photo of one of his Hibiscus flowers this week to show it off. First part of September and they are just gorgeous!

They have bloomed all summer strong! Love this one with the dark pink flower pattern in the bright pink. Now he is getting ready for things to bloom for the fall. Always growing and blooming!

Hope you have a smile and sorry it was a day late!

Animal Crackers - Hide and Seek

Howdy -

Oh Bubba... Always  into something. The other day he was in a hiding and jump out and grab you kinda mood. He thinks he is a very good hider! I mean how in the world could I see in in that laundry basket?? LOL He is cute but not the smartest!

He really is a funny guy!

I got up really early this week to take photos... before 7 am is really early for me! Went into the Lady Goat pen and snap a photo of our three last ladies. Seems so weird to not have many goats. These three and then Chipmunk are it. But it is time to downsize a bit and take some work off of Hubby. And the Goats, although we love them dearly, they were all getting so old and we decided that a break would be best. So now these three girls have the entire pen to themselves. I will say there is not much fighting for places to get now. Enough huts for them each to have their own .... but they still usually pile up in one.

I do miss all the noise and calling out from the goats. But Penelope is trying her best to keep some sound out there for me. She is always talking.

Before I came outside I walked by the back window all the Lady Donkeys were all right up front at the fence looking towards the house. Perfect! I can get out there and get some good photos and love on some girls! Grabbed my shoes, my camera and went out the back door... just in time to see the long line of donkeys heading way off into the pen. Really??? It wasn't 5 minutes! But when they didn't see anyone moving out to them they took off to graze before it got hot. Darn!

So I turned and went back to my reliable Three Stooges. Still at the breakfast bar. Cocoa and Valentine on one side mouths full of hay.

And then Teddy on the other side. So I stopped and talked to them, loved on them... cautiously with Cocoa gotta move slow with her or she takes off. Valentine is a depend on his mood for attention. This morning he let me love all over him. He must of gotten a good night sleep! And then Teddy a more of a in your face attention kind of donkey. He will always take attention!

I was so upset everyone else was off and didn't want their photo taken. But I'll try again in the next few days to get some close ups of them.

As I was heading back to the house I saw another kind of hide and seek! A rare snap of the photo to capture two of Hubby's Old Cats. They usually take off and I can't get photos of two of them together. I think this is Mom and Scaredy Cat... But I didn't want to make them run off to take a closer look. So I snapped and backed away slowly!

It is starting to cool down a bit here. It has only been in the mid 90's all week. And the mornings have actually been nice. I am sure the animals are enjoying it! I know I am. That over 100 degrees stuff stinks! Common on FALL!

Hope you have a smile - Thanks for visiting!
