Papertrey Ink Challenge

Hi - I have just been having so much fun just crafting.. just for fun, just for me! I have been joining in on more challenges for inspiration and having fun. You know there is just times when things are so stressed and you have so many required things due and you enjoy doing them, but it just feels different when it is more like playing. Does that make sense at all? Probably not.. but oh well it all boils down to I have been having fun!

So this weekend I was surfing around and was reading on the Papertrey Ink Forum, and found there was a challenge that had just started on there. Sounded fun, and had a list of requirements that did challenge me. They asked for projects with - Scallops, Birthday theme, Background stamp, Hearts and Buttons. Yep.. all in one project! Well.. I put my thinking cap on and pulled out some of my Papertrey products that I have been wanting to use - and this is what I came up with -
So first I have been wanting to use my new Front and Center #2 bag die. You die cut two - one for the front and one for the back, then you just create folded sides for how ever large you want you bag! Too easy and way too cute! From there I decided as my background stamp, I wanted to try and emboss the new Wrought Iron back ground stamp - been forever since I have used my embossing powders, and WOW love this stamp with the shiny black embossing! I found a photo cloud pattern paper to use, and other than it is just a bit slanted on the page.. duh... I love it! I then also went ahead and black embossed the sentiment Happy Birthday - from the Inside and Out Set.

Then I wanted some grass across the bottom... well it was Easter, and my Martha Stewart Bunny punch just needed to be used. I punched it twice, once in green, then once in a light brown. I then cut out the bunnies out and added white gel pen cotton tails. Aren't they just adorable along the Iron fence? It still needed a POP - So I found one of the Flower Fusion stamp sets. #9 - I die cut the flower and then stamped. Then edged with a Copic. Now I need to order the Flower Fusion stem die... darn it! But until I do I made use of a Martha Stewart Frond leaf punch. To check off the list of requirements, I used a button for the center of the flower - Only one more thing needed... Hearts.. hmmm - well I have the Papertrey Ink Heart Border die. so I cut me out a strip and just used it for another added pop of color at the top. Why.. well cuz I needed hearts - LOL

Here is a side view -

You can see it is actually a little bag. I should have made it a little bigger - but well it is a cute LITTLE bag.

I had fun - Hubby looked at it and said, wow that is very different for you. And I like that - I need some different once in a while.

Have a great day!

StampARTic Challenge - Bingo with a Sarah Kay

Hello - Hope you all had a blessed and wonderful Easter weekend. Hubby and I took a day of peace. Just us, and well... lots of animals. :0) It was a nice semi-quiet day with no stress or pressure. We both needed it desperately.

I wanted to get this post in tonight as I did a card for the StampARTic Challenge and found that it ends tonight  - so here is my card.. as I did enjoy the challenge.
Went back to one of my favorite Sarah Kay images for this one. Spring is Back. Totally love this image, the hair, the hat, the cute little ruffled top and all those flowers. I colored with my Copics, then die cut in a Nestie thin oval. The pattern paper is from a new paper pad I just got from Hobby Lobby... went in with a friend, didn't need a thing, and came out with paper... LOL But the colors and patterns in the Prima Madeline collection was more than I could handle. I caved and had to have it. I used scraps for matting around the paper,

The challenge at StampARTic is a bingo challenge.. I chose Flowers Stamp Ribbon... So the Stamp is done, my flowers are from the floral department... love these felt flowers on a wire stem! Don't know what made me circle around the oval, but I like it. I then added a bow and band of white seam binding ribbon.

Then I did the inside -
Same pattern paper collection, with more scraps of card stock. The sentiment is from the new Stampavie Tina Wenke Happy Birthday collection.

I loved putting this card together, I think it was the colors - these papers just make me happy.

Still some time today... I think I am going back to my craft desk ;0)

Thanks for stopping in -

Animal Crackers - Kids EVERYWHERE!

Wow what a week! Smiles, Joy, Stress, Worry - For those that need a count... we are up to 21 baby goats! That is TWENTY -ONE! And two more Mom's to be!

First off I just have to tell you... Hank is here to stay forever! The rule is boys have to go. He is part of Lucy's quads. And we were a bit worried about him at first. But he is doing great! Tiny still but GREAT! I was having to keep telling Hubby that he had to stay, he just had too much personality, and he kept telling me no.. all boys go. But this week.... Hank has won over Hubby :0) Now don't tell Hank - but he thinks he is a dog. He runs to us when we come in the pen, stands up on my leg and scratches at me until he is picked up and loved on :0) Man he is totally adorable!

Ok so lets see... new kids. Belle had her twins. George and Gracie! Belle is a first time Mom and she is doing great.
Gracie is going to most likely stay here. Wish she would have gotten her Mom's blue eyes like her brother. But she is still really pretty... and carries that blue eye gene...

Then the next day Chloe went into labor and had her twins -
Bill and Ted. I was surprised to not see more of Chloe's red in them or her blue eyes... but they are still handsome. And they are one "Excellent Adventure". (Sorry had to say it LOL )

Then the next night Daisy went into labor - and man is this a lousy photo. Sorry. I took it with my phone and it was starting to get dark. And well Daisy is a bit of a nut and wouldn't stand still for nothing.
She totally shocked us with QUADS as well. She wasn't very big, we were even questioning if she would have twins... but hello... there were 4 babies! Three gorgeous girls and one boy. We named them Alice, Vera, Flo and Mel. "Well Kiss My Grits!" Vera is our first real Grey baby. The entire goal of Peso... I really want some grey babies! Gotten some pieces of greys in babies. Alice is gonna be a keeper for sure to, Black and white and she has her Mom's blue eyes.

Look how pretty Vera is once cleaned up and pretty -
Lovin the grey! I am really working hard on these girls to make them friendly.... I am tired of crazy loco goats.

Oh but this one, she is super super friendly... and is just as small as Hank.. Olive Oyl - One of Paintbrushes babies.
This I guess is enjoying the evening sun? She is beautiful. I have a great video of her to share, but can't get it to load. This little one ... well she never shuts up! And she has this tiny little scream. Hope I can get it to load for you soon.

This photo also cracked me up... Peggy and LuAnn - Lucy's girls... they have started to eat the alfalfa.
I don't think they are actually eating much. More copying what Mom does. But LuAnn really does seem to be enjoying herself. Great look on her face huh?

We had a real scare with Paintbrush this week. She got really sick, and a couple of days after having the babies, she wouldn't come out of their barn, wouldn't eat and well.. that made it hard to feed her kids. I got the vet out as quick as possible, we thought she was going to have to have surgery.. but after a while the Dr. was able to pull a still born baby. It was stuck way up in the birth canal. It was very traumatic, but I am VERY happy to report that Paintbrush is doing really well, and the babies are now eating and bouncing everywhere.

Then Miss Libbie -
She was fixed this week. Very hard on all of us. But she is doing well. The Dr. asked us to keep her calm, still and no excitement for a week. Uh... seriously? It has been tough but she has done Ok so far. I'll be happy when her gorgeous full hair grows back in, I don't like this nearly hairless version of my girl.

Ok, so I have done way to many photos this week... but well.. it has been two weeks since Tuco I think so, there has to be one of him too -
Look how handsome he is :0) Everyone got new collars and their tags from shots. Tuco's has flames on his.. LOL

If anyone locally needs a adorable puppy... Ammo, Tuco's brother isn't working out well at his new home, and I need to find another home for him. So shoot me an email if you need someone to love on -

HUGS have a great holiday weekend -

More kids and a card!

Wow what a week.. my emotions are on a roller coaster ride this week! Up and Down with the Stress. But all is good. Yesterday we had Libbie fixed - the best for her I know that, but still was hard, she is such a good Momma and has beautiful babies. But best for her. So it is all good now. We have had more goats babies too! Surprise huh? LOL Paintbrush gave us quite a scare and she and her babies have been on my watch list the last  couple of days to make sure they are all healthy. So far everyone is doing ok.

They are a good looking family here aren't they?
Again... HUGE size difference in two of the babies. REALLY strange. Bluto is HUGE and Olive Oyl is tiny.

But how about a card? Yes I have actually crafted a bit - a tiny little bit.

I made another 5x7 card - still odd feeling, but getting a little more use to it. LOL
Sarah Kay for this card "Sofia Wishes" - isn't she pretty?
I went with a little different color combo this time. Drew from the pattern paper from Websters Pages. The purple and black with cream really does work well together huh? And I love double sided pattern papers, so easy to just flip and use both sides! No thinking. I sewed strips on the top and bottom, then backed the oval image - Some pretty cream and purple mulberry flowers, with Martha Stewart punched leaves and branches. Three small pearls for the corner. The band is two punches of a Papertrey Ink die.  My sentiment "Hello Friend" is also from Papertrey Ink.

Close Up of Sofia -
Colored with my Promarkers - and cut with an oval Nestie.

Did a quick surf for some challenges this week - First I have to shout out WOO HOO! I won last weeks 7Kids College Fund Challenge! Really great pick me up! Thank You Girls!

This week I found two challenges that my card fit well.. and I took notes of other challenge I hope I get time to play this week :0)

This card I would like to join in at

LOL great challenges this week... easy to fit in huh?
Ok, out to check on babies goats. :0)

Stampavie Sarah Kay - "Spool" Photo Holder

The other day was my turn on the Stampavie Blog again - I had so many things already scheduled, and all those babies to show off :0) So here is my project! It was so much fun....

I am so excited to show you what I made this week. Isn't funny how exciting it is when something is in your head and it works in reality! It doesn't happen often for me, so when it does work.. I get the giggles!
This is my Sarah Kay "Spool" Photo Holder. And I just love how Laura and Henri fit so perfectly on it.
I adore antiques, and love the vintage wooden spools. But I didn't have one to make my photo holder, so I made one ! Can you guess what I used? I am sure you can... This is a Toilet paper roll and two coasters! Covered in pretty Graphic 45 papers, inked and glued together. Tim Holtz lace borders, and lots of mulberry roses. My photo holder? That is a piece of copper wire rolled and then glued into the center of the roll. Was so simple!

Here is a close up of Laura and Henri - they are so precious.
I hope you enjoyed my project, oh... and the photo that is in my holder? That is my grandfather as a very young boy with his siblings. Such a great family photo.

Hope you have a great Sunday -

Animal Crackers - All about the KIDS!

I cannot even tell you how fun it is having so many babies bouncing around out there! And this is not even 1/2 of what is expected!!!!!  There are a few worries don't get me wrong. My biggest has been Hank. One of Lucy's Quads.. he is sooo tiny and was a little slow at developing. But he is doing better, and I think he is going to make it! He better I have gotten super attached to this little one :0)

Ok.. So Let see... I told you about Scarlet's twins last week. Then Sunday night her sister Rhett had the little girl "Betty Davis" Then Monday afternoon Jill had Triplets!! This is just minutes after she had them.
One boy and two girls. I named them Jack, Janet and Crissy :0)  Now some know those characters and then a few younger people have looked at me like HUH?  But common you guys know those names right? Three's Company of course...

Then just minutes after Jill was done - Lucy started having her babies! The first one was easy - and was all alone for like 30 minutes. Then here came the second. A super tiny baby that wasn't breathing, and too weak to get out of the sack. I had to help... I always freak and get so scared. But he started breathing and all though he couldn't move much or stand he was doing ok. Then it was clear that Lucy was in a lot of pain and having a lot of trouble with number 3... But finally after lots of pushing she had him... ENORMOUS baby boy. Then within seconds.. she started having number 4 - but problem. It was breech. That scares the you know what out of me. And Lucy was so tired by that time she couldn't push hard enough. I got her to calm down and then finally with a big push baby 4 was born, a little girl.

Here they all are about an hour later. I was too emotional before that to get any photos, but I finally calmed down...

Took me a while to come up with their names. And that little one really had me upset that he would not survive. But after some time Two boys and Two girls had names. Hank, Peggy, Bobby and LuAnn Hill - LOL  You know them too right? King of the Hill of course....

Here they are yesterday -
They are all doing really well. Even little Hank!!!

Ok.. now seriously You have too see the size difference in Bobby and Hank... Remember Bobby is a HUGE baby and Hank is a tiny baby... Peggy and LuAnn are normal babies.. all from Lucy.

Here is Bobby and Hank side by side -
I told you.. you said OH MY didn't you??? LOL

Now I really tried to get some photos of each of them, but it was not easy! These kids are everywhere, then nowhere, then here and then there. Bouncing all the way... LOL But here are a few cute photos I did get. I'll work on seeing about video's over the next few weeks to show off... they are really so fun to watch.

One of Jill's babies - Janet

And her sister Crissy

I thought this one was too cute - their tails are wagging like crazy :0)

Got a great one of Hutch... this guy is super curious. He is into everything and gets involved in all the other babies groups. LOL

Starsky - he is really handsome. Very active too -

And here one of Lucy's girls - LuAnn

Isn't she pretty? I love all the markings on her face....

There will be more you know it! More of these babies, and more of all the future babies... we have SIX more Mom's to be ;0)

Hope you have a great weekend -

Just Magnolias and Hanglars - SPRINGTIME!

Isn't it wonderful??? Well I hope it is where you are, here in Texas it is SPRINGTIME! And I am totally loving it! We have had LOTS of spring babies as well and that is just another reason for me to love Spring :0) Yes, more babies... a set of triplets and a set of Quads! I'll have lots of photos on Saturday :0)

But for today I have my Just Magnolia and Hanglar Challenge card. And the theme is Springtime. Colors, or flowers what ever that means to you. Me it was both. I just got in a few new Magnolia images from Magnolia-licious. Man super fast shipping!

When I saw the new stamp "Tilda's Heartflowers" I HAD to have it. Just love it, and the adorable heart petals.
Now first off you may notice this is card that isn't square. Shocker huh? Yes, since I have been asked to make up some cards for a local gift shop, I decided that I needed to make up some other sizes of cards. Especially cards that don't cost extra postage here. Love those square cards, but they do have to have that extra few stamps :0) - So here is a 5x7 card. I used a couple different pattern papers. A scrap of a Graphic 45 paper, then two patterns for October Afternoon. I sewed the layers together with a fun zig zag stitch.

My image is colored with my Copics - then I used Viva Decor Pearl Pens to high light and add some shine. Love those things! They are too cool, I just wish I could have all the colors... maybe someday :0)  The border die is from Papertrey Ink, loved how it sort of looks like the flowers. I added a pink dotted satin ribbon, also Papertrey Ink, and then three buttons. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps.

And look I did the inside too - so proud that is three cards in a row for me! Need to make it a habit then it won't seem like extra to me, right?

Now head on over to the Just Magnolia and Hanglar Challenge and see all the Springtime inspiration, then join us for another great chance at a prize this week.

Make sure to visit tomorrow - LOTS and LOTS of baby kid photos! Have a great Friday!
