Creative Overload...

Well last night I pulled out all the wonderful new stamps I had received in the mail and spread them out in front of me. I was on creative overload. After I calmed down I chose a couple of the images to work with. Both are from Rubbernecker Stamps.

The first was just too much fun to work with! It is a set of two stamps, the back ground stamp is a large stamp of what I guess is an alley with a full moon. I stamped it twice, colored in the first one in full, then colored in the trash can and parts of the tree on the second. I cut out the pieces and pop dotted them on too the first image. I then stamped and colored it the "meowing" cats then cut them out and pop dotted them onto the image as well. It looked ok to me but just see to need more... so I color washed the entire image with my yellow Twinkling H2O's to give the card the light of the moon. But I was missing the stars. I live out in the country and I LOVE to see the stars at night. So I found some small bling to add for the stars. Matted everything on to black and washed the edge of it with H2O's, layered onto the Daisy D's pattern paper then the blue cardstock added the stamp "You are the Cat's Meow!" and Ta Da! I think this one turned out pretty cute. It looks better in person you can really see the shine on it.

The second image I worked with was this fun little frog. Who can resist a frog with flowers? I colored in the image with my copic markers added some stickles on the flowers for a little bling. Then I just had to pull out my Cuttlebug and use the new embossing folder Swiss Dots, don't know why but I went with lots of dots on this card, the pattern paper is My Minds Eye confetti love the fun colors of that paper. I then cut out the stamp words "Have a Hoppy Birthday" with my Spellbinders Nestabilities circle and then scalloped circle, added some ribbon to the embossed cardstock and then put it all together. This one turned out BRIGHT! But hey it is fun and very "spring-y".

Well today is a inside day for me, a wet and very windy cold front came in, so I am going to catch up on some laundry, a little house cleaning and lots of reading of my some of my favorite blogs - Have a great Monday!

Sleepy Sunday

Well I had a ton of fun at the Crop this weekend! Didn't get a lot of sleep but had lots of fun and got SEVEN layouts done!!! Yep 7! These were two I did about my "babies" I have an album for my donkeys and love doing fun pages for them as well as family members.




Male Bonding is from a sketch at Fiskars Crafts. I don't use many sketches, I am more of a wing it type of scrapbooker. But I love the fiskateer site and from there I have gotten familar with the fiskars crafts site. The monthly challenge sketches have just been hard to resist lately! And this month I just fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. Of course I always stray and go with my style as well - Anyway this is what I came up with when I did the sketch. I think this is going to be one of my favorites. Then again I love the subject matter. This is Craig (my DH) with two of our boys, Miguel and Rico Suave. As you can tell in the photo Miguel is a hugger. He loves to lean and "hug" you when you get down on his level.





The second LO I am posting is one that I had to do, cuz I just love this photo of my three standard donkey. We with love call them "The 3 Stooges", mainly cuz their are only three of the standards, they roam the entire property. I think they really believe that they own it and we are here for the purpose of making sure they have fresh hay and water twice a day and just to fix what ever they have broke by rubbing and scratching on. Cocoa is the dark one, she is the leader.... now please note that "she" is the only female of the three and that is probably why she is always the one in the lead and control. Valentine McKee, named for Kevin Bacon's movie character from one of my favorite movies Tremors, he is Cocoa's son and he is ALWAYS right next to her. At the age of 3 he is and probably will always be a Momma's boy. And then there is Ted E. Bear, our greeter and deffinately the friendliest and most well known on our place. You don't visit us with out getting to know Ted! He loves to meet knew people and will be your friend for life if you bring him peppermints. This Layout started out so much different, and then turned and ended up not at all like I had imagined it, but sometimes those end up high on my list.

I have lots of new stamps to play with this week, so I am hoping to have some new cards to share this coming week. Not only the Rubbernecker Stamps that arrived, but My Favorite Things stamps came too! Wonder if hubby will notice if we eat sandwiches all week and he doesn't have clean clothes?

Well it is Friday and tonight and tomorrow are the weekend crop at my LSS. You know I will be totally honest. I have never liked cropping away from home. One I can't pack my collection and take it with me. And I never know what I will need and what creative inspiration will hit me. I feel limited and frustrated working away from all of my things. Two I am not a "night" person. I hate to drive at night and by 10:30 it is bed time, so midnight is really late! I use to love late nights, then we moved to the country and my babies are Hee-ing and Haw-ing as soon as the sun comes up wanting to be fed. (I will be honest here, Craig my wonderful husband, feeds them 99% of the time) But I do get up and get going and make sure his breakfast is ordered so he can pick it up on the way to work. HA! I do make breakfast if he is staying home. I actually love to cook.

Anyway back to the crop. I have come to look forward to them. I have a ton of fun! Some crops I actually do get a lot done, I think last month I did 5 layouts! Then there are a few crops where I spent most of the time just sitting there laughing so hard that we do not get much done but hey I have fun with my friends is important too- and usually my sister Melanie is there too and it is great being friends with my sister! Who would have thought that when that little pain drove me crazy as a child. (HI SIS!). So tonight is my crop and I will be gathering as much stuff as I can fit in my XXL Crop in Style and be off to have a fun night with the girls.

Today's card is actually one in my pile, didn't get to play last night. I love making 3-D flower cards, for any reason! These stamps I got from Stamps by Judith and she rocks at making stamps to layer. I used lots of Pop-dots and spent a lot of time cutting out each flower to give it some depth. I just love these stamps!

Oh one more thing- yesterday was a GREAT mail day! I got my order of stamps from Rubbernecker Stamps! So I have lots of new images to play with!

Today's card was a struggle me. I love this stamp it is just so fun, but the size of the image stumps me sometimes. I must have moved this around a million times. But a hour or so later I settled. And I am ok with how it turned out.









As it was "finished" it sat in front of me and it just didn't seem right... and so I pulled out my stickles and added some bling. That always makes me feel better.










I wanted to also post a photo of one my donkeys. I got a few comments on them, and I have to admit I think they are what makes my life a little different from most, so you will hear about them often and get to know them as well. They are so much fun and each of the 20 of them. Yes 20. Have their own personality. So today I will introduce you to my "smiling" donkey you see in the corner. He is one of our studs Raphael or as we call him "Raffie". He is little, about 31 inches full grown and that makes one cute little guy. Now he is full grown and a real man. But as you can see in the photo he was just absolutely adorable as a baby!

Well I must run now, I have an appointment to get my hair cut. I say appointment loosely cuz, Mom is a hairdresser and I go in and then fit in where she has time for me. Hey I can say I have never paid for a hair cut my entire life so sitting a waiting for a spot is just part of it for me!

I have joined the Blogging World

Well it is official! I have joined the Blogging World. Don't know if anyone will read but I have made my mark. I guess the purpose of my blog will be to share my two passions.

• My Paper Crafting - stamping, cards, scrapbooking or anything else I can make with all of the masses of supplies I have collected.

• My Donkeys - We raise miniature donkeys. They have become the heart and soul of our world. They take a lot of time (and money) but they add more love and laughter than I can probably share online.

So here I am and I hope to find people find the things in my life entertaining - hey if I can't laugh at all of this I might as well give up.
