Animal Crackers - Simple Afternoon -

Only a couple of photos this week..... sorry - I am having internet issues... anyone else work with satellite internet??? Taking forever to load and download anything!

Simple Afternoon here at Animal Crackers, actually when I went out to take photos.. it seemed as if everyone wanted to take a nap - LOL me included, it just felt so wonderful outside, I think we need a hammock here.

I just love when donkeys rest on each other ...
Cali loves to rest on anyone who is near her...
Went out to the front pen this afternoon - it has been awhile since I took any photos of these guys. Miguel was suppose to be our main stud.... didn't work out and we ended up having to geld him. Rico is his gelded buddie... can't separate these two. They are the best of friends and the worst of friends... they are a little like brothers are.  Speaking of brothers Miguel is Fanci's 1/2 brother, we have never been able to get Fanci pregnant... hmmm.. Miguel never worked as a stud, and Fanci never has gotten pregnant - we really think there is something to research there. But all three of these guys - useless as they are in the "business" are part of our family. Totally adore them. And they are all really sweethearts.

Sorry for the short post. I am going to get back on the phone with the internet company today and see what the issue is. I am sure it will cost me something.... last time they told me my Dish was too old. Wonder what it will be this time.

HUGS and have a wonderful Saturday!

Just Magnolias - Another great Sketch from Dawny!!

Just Magnolia's Day - Friday! This week is another FABULOUS sketch from DT member Dawny!

And I decided that I needed to have Edwin come out of my box and make up one of those hard to do "Guy" Cards - I never have cards for the men! Why don't they like flowers, pretty glitter and bling? LOL
So Handsome Edwin playing the guitar came out to play for us! I colored with my Copics and cut out with a circle Nestie to follow the sketch. I doodled around the edge.. note my silly little notes... LOL oh my I shouldn't try things like that as they are scary bad! LOL But at least they make me smile....
For the card I went through  my papers stacks and dug deep. I really need to move around all my stacks. I do that from time to time to get me to use stacks that have been buried for a long time. So there are three different pattern papers here - from three different collections. First off I knew I had to use a piece of Marianne Designs music paper behind Edwin. Just too perfect there. Then for the other pieces I went to older Basic Grey stacks and found a piece of Boxer and Wassail that went well together.

For the edges of all the papers, I distressed and sewed down, for the band across the bottom I stacked two ribbons. I so wanted to put some flowers on this ribbon... but then I held back and just went more manly, and found three buttons. Sigh.. flowers would have been so pretty here... but some men just wouldn't appreciate them. So Buttons work. The sentiment  is from Stamps by Judith, love that is a vertical sentiment.

I just love Dawny's sketches - why not pop over to Just Magnolia's and play too!!!!

Have you seen Stampavie's Halloween Images?????

OH my I just love the new Stampavie Tina Wenke Halloween stamps! I am going to admit, Halloween isn't one of my top holidays. And really I have never made many Halloween cards, but these stamps are just so adorable that I am going nuts making Halloween cards this year! LOL

This image is called Halloween Critters.....
and with the Critters I decided to make a goodie bag.. mmmm full of M&M's.... mmmmmm

This Goodie bag literally from start to finish took about 30 minutes... I colored it up with my Copics, and then layered it on orange card stock, then a piece of Cloud 9 Glitter Halloween paper, a border at the bottom of Martha Stewart's Goo punch, and a Halloween ribbon - filled a clear envelope with the wonderful glorious chocolate - and ta da... a quick project, which would be great if you need to make up a whole bunch of these.. maybe for an entire class, or a few hundred Trick or Treaters.

Now if you love these new Halloween stamps - and you find them - GRAB THEM!! They are a limited collection so they probably won't be there when you go back for them :0)

Well... I need to go and "Put Away" the left over M&M's ....

Spoon Full of Sugar - Winter Wonderland -

Spoon Full of Sugar day and today it is a Winter Wonderland! A Winter theme for cards - should be really easy with all the fabulous Christmas images out there. But me... I had NO MOJO this week. NONE.. Froze up Solid. Winter Wonderland - this card took me 4 nights to make, and lots of wasted paper thrown into the trash. And I am still unhappy with the finished card... but time was out and I just wasn't going to get to where I was happy... So here it is.

Now I am always happy with the Stampavie images... and this was a first time for me to color up Polar Present by Laurence, and I really enjoyed using it, was very fast to work with. Coloring with Copics, Stickles for some sparkle, and then for that snow.. Martha Stewarts Snow Glitter - really cool stuff, just need to figure out how to use it better.

Nestie label 4 to cut out. For the pattern paper I used DCWV Christmas stack for the one pattern, then the second I made it myself. I think I like it.... A piece of Core'dination card stock, embossed with my Spellbinders Snowflake Embossing die. I have had this forever! And first time I have used it. Not as easy to use as Cuttlebug folders, I think I need to google some better instructions. After running it through my Big Shot Pro, I sanded it, but then it needed that extra punch.. so I sprayed the entire piece with Vanilla Smooch Spritz. I am so in love with this stuff!! ;0)

The scalloped piece I found in my stash, I think it is also from Martha Stewart, had self adhesive and I was frustrated at how blah this card was. Silver Ribbon didn't even help it for me.....

Then I decided that sometimes you just don't feel a card - and this was mine for now, so finish it up and move on!! I did... started working on a 3-D project that I am just loving... LOL I'll show it off as soon as finished with it, but has lots of layers so it is taking me a while.

So until then  - why don't you surf on over to A Spoon Full of Sugar and see the other DT creations, you can see that they didn't get as stumped as I did...

Here I am... ME, MYSELF and MY EYE

Ok, I know I am long over due for showing off my new eye.. It really isn't my eye I haven't wanted to show! LOL I really really really hate having my photo taken! So I have sucked it up and decided it ain't gonna get any better than this - so here I am...
First let me start off by saying this is early in the morning here... LOL what else can as and excuse for a really horrible photo. I can blame it some on Hubby - he isn't really great at taking photos... but I guess I just have to admit.. this is me.

So can you tell which eye it the real thing? ( I have that Sesame Street Song in my head right now... which of these things ain't like the other.. )

Need a close up?
Damn now that is scary!!! Way to close for my comfort! OH and here is my new second glasses! Word of advise... don't let your Husband and MIL pick out your glasses for you while you are on very strong meds! :0)  They were worried about me though... and wanted the safest glasses they could get - really close to goggles here people!!! As soon as I was able I went and exchanged them for these.  I hate wearing glasses! Contacts - I got my first pair when I was 13, and never looked back at glasses. Hate them. But now, they have taken my contacts away - won't let me wear them, even if I can now get twice as long out of them - only need one at a time and they are sold in pairs you know. Nope they say no way, I can't risk any eye infections in my one good eye now. Super cautious and have to be really careful from hear on.

So you figure it out? I lost my RIGHT eye... so looking at the screen the eye on the left is the prosthetic eye.  Freaky huh? So other than being totally blind on my right - and avoiding going down flights of stairs. I look and I am pretty much back to me. (I can't tell how deep a step is.. could be 4 inches - could be 4 feet... very scary!)

Thought this would also be a good time to show you all the love you sent me -

I just wish that I could really show how many cards this is! I tried stacking them, laying them all out - the photo just really doesn't show the quantity of cards here! Hubby was so funny about them, we had to make sure that every card went back into the envelopes - he loves all the postmarks and return addresses :0)  So did my rural country post office, they got a huge kick out of seeing all the cards from everywhere coming through.   So from the bottom of my heart - Hubby's Heart and my post office - Thank you for all your wonderful Support!

This Summer is over - done and now I am just trying to get use to the new me.. and my new vision. Over all - doing pretty darn good. I only bump into things maybe once a week now... and not while I am driving, just me walking - and honestly I probably bumped into a few things with two eyes..  I just take doorways and shopping isles a little to close from time to time. LOL

HUGE HUGS TO EACH OF YOU - and -

Animal Crackers - Look What Hubby Got Me! And MOVING PICTURES!!

Hi - Sorry I am so late today - LOL Was such a rough week with me having the Flu then Hubby getting it, and well.. I figured out how to get the video's from my Camera into the computer!! Took me all morning but we now have moving pictures and you are in so much trouble cuz I will be showing LOTS more videos from here on! I think... if this works that is!

First I want to show you what Hubby got me last weekend!!!! OH I JUST LOVE HIM! His name is "Hombre" - Hubby thought he would be fabulous out at our front gate, and well.. he would. But I just couldn't sleep at night thinking someone would steal him!
We are going to have touch up his coloring... LOL He is just a tad to blue for me, and he needs more dark in his mane, and loose the white legs, they just don't look right at all. He needs to look more like Diego....
"Hombre" is cast aluminum!! A full size Miniature Donkey! We nearly ran off the road when we saw him! I just love him, and Yes he would be great out at our front gate, but if anything ever happened to him, I would just die.
Here is our full size Donkey Ted E. Bear trying to figure out why he won't move just after we got him off the truck. Ted soon (meaning half an hour.. he isn't the brightest) realized that he wasn't "alive" and then thought he would make a great scratching post... so we knew he needed to go behind the fence away from Ted, or he would knock him over. So in our back yard he went.... then Autie got to meet "Hombre"

This went on FOREVER!! Funny thing is we thought is was so hysterical that Autie was afraid of "Hombre" and laughed... then later that night Hubby and I came into the kitchen and we both jumped seeing him in the backyard just at dark!!  We thought someone was loose in the backyard!! Got another chuckle out of that too... Both Autie and Libbie were really cautious going out that first night... now they run around and under him knowing he is just lawn art -

Ok now one more Video... told you I was going to go Video nuts :0)

Found Felipe and Jorge playing this morning and thought it might just make you smile like it does me :0)  Jorge is the dark nosed little one, and Felipe is his slightly older and larger 1/2 brother chasing him. ( warning .. this photo is loading sideways "sorry"... it is right side up when I start it, then once it loads it is sideways!! So frustrating... so turn your head to the left and enjoy :0) again Sorry)

Be patient.. I am still learning how to edit my video's and load them here - so things are a little wonky at first :O} Got any tips... let me know cuz this is all new to me.

Hope you enjoyed Animal Crackers today - and let me know if do or don't like the addition of Moving Pictures!
