Animal Crackers - Its getting HOT out there!

Wow... it is already getting hot outside! I think it almost hit 90 here yesterday... and most everyone was trying to stay in the shade. Including me....

What can I say about this one? Well... lets just say Frankie was loving having Lillie in his pen - we moved her over and she is coming into season... Frankie was sad to have Annie leave, but once he saw that Lillie was going to visit, he was happy and forgot all about Annie -

This guy is really stunning. It is a shame he is so skittish, he is getting a bit more interested in me, and wants the attention the little kids get - I need to find a home for him and his brother Hank...   You need two stunning little guys in your yard?

Ricky... hmmm I think he was trying to eat the alfalfa... but was really ending up wearing more than he was eating. He is REALLY friendly - loves to be scratched behind his horns - what man doesn't though -
Our newest baby Alonzo - named for a race car driver - it so fits this little guy! He is always running and trying to get his 1/2 brother, Frio,  and 1/2 sister, Pepita,  to race him. He always comes in first despite the fact that he is so much younger than they are.

Gloria... I can't believe how grown up she has become. She is a stunning red/brown color. Still very playful - you can't leave the water hose in the bucket around this girl... she picks it up and tries to spray all of her friends -
We have a new family living on our property. This is a very old bird house that was here when we moved here almost 9 years ago - nothing has ever been done with it. It is way up in the air and there ain't no way I am getting up on a high ladder to fix it up - I hate ladders! It is always on Hubbies list of things he wants to do... but more important things always come up, you know trees falling, fences coming down trivial things. But this little birdie seems to very happy to have her family living here.

Libbie... she has really been on high alert the last couple of weeks, every little tiny noise she barks and runs from window to window. And this is not a regular dog bark... it is one of those high pitch make your ears bleed barks. Wonderful when you have a headache... But we still love her - how could you not?

And Autie... he is getting so big! Almost grown up and this boy loves to run in the high grass! I really need to mow - maybe I'll get the energy this weekend now that it has dried out from all the rain - Isn't he adorable? Love those flopping ears! He almost has the "Flying Nun" look doesn't he.. LOL

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Hugs from all of us!

Animal Crackers all counted up!

Animal Crackers Day!!   I am so glad I got photos taken during the week! The weather has been glorious this week! Sunny and warm! But today... cloudy, thunder storms and cold!

As I went out one afternoon this week... I found Ricky and Fred, well doing some Sun bathing! Fred had already made his way in, and Ricky was on his way!  Now as funny as this is... this is their water pail! LOL  There was actually only about 1/2 inch in the bowl....

Ahhh... oh my sun bathing really does feel so fabulous!  I know they were really enjoying it, so I put off filling their water - so they could enjoy their afternoon swim... can you swim if there isn't room to turn around?

Speaking of watering... How many donkey heads can you get into a water bucket?  You would think I had let their water run out, and they were dying for something to drink. But nope they had two buckets.. they just love the cold running water :0)

This photo cracked me up... We have new hay bales in the pens this week. Frio and Darlene were eating a late lunch.. heck Darlene eats all day so I don't know if it was lunch or not. But I found it really funny that her son Frio wanted the exact grass that Darlene was trying to eat. Had to be the best piece if Mom wanted it!

Jazz was taking a little afternoon snooze under the shade of a big oak tree - mmm it was warm and wonderful - wish I had a hammock out there, I would have joined her!

And now the new baby!!! Alonso and his Mom Bella - I am telling you this is the fast little dude we have ever had! He is so ahead of the curve of what he should be doing! LOL we came out Wednesday night and he was literally doing laps around the pen! Only 24 hours old! And this is why Hubby named him after a race car driver! LOL  here is is already copying Mom and grazing.. adorable!

How is this for showing how big my new Big Shot Pro is?  I put it on the floor and Let Autie check it out! Then I got to thinking... does this show how big the Pro is or how small Autie is? LOL

This is Autie... saying .. "No Mom I am a BIG BOY!"

Libbie saying ... "Yea Right... just remember I am always in charge!"

I had some one ask how many animals we have - so I counted them up! LOL actually I didn't have a count in my head. So here is what we have: 3 Standard Donkeys; 30 Miniature Donkeys; 11 Dwarf Nigerian Goats; 2 Toy Australian Shepherds and 1 Cat -  ahem...  donkeys and goats "In the works"  :0)

Whew no wonder my feed bill is so high each month! LOL

Have a wonderful weekend.

Saturday Animal Crackers!!

I must have spend over an hour taking photos yesterday afternoon - ok so most of the time I was just playing with the animals, but it was quiet and calm outside and everyone was just wanting some lovin -

If you are haven't seen my Anniversary Blog Candy click the link to the top right of my side bar to get in on the drawing! :0)

My baby Sergio (my orphan) was one of the first to come and see me. I can't believe he is over 6 months old now.. such a big boy and he is such a love. And his coloring is just gorgeous. He is solid black, and when clipped late in Spring we will see that, but his sun bleached fur is just red in the light.  I was messing with the settings on my camera, trying to learn how to use my camera and software better... so be patient with me as I learn and mess up photos please :0)

I then went and saw Lacey and Vicki... Well Lacey came and saw me... Vicki found something really good to dig up and was more interested in that - They are both starting to get those baby wides. They aren't due until summer - quick story about these two. Vicki was the donkey we went to purchase years ago. She has fabulous genealogy, daddy and grandpa have tons of nation wide show ribbons, and both were grand champions. She is a white with black spot donkey (remember black fades to red) and she has green eyes. But while agreeing to buy her the breeder begged us to take Lacey as well. They were born about the same time, and were the best of friends. Any time you separated them they both went nuts. So she made us a package deal and we took both of them. And I have never once regretted it. Lacey has given us some pretty babies, and truly she is one of the friendliest and sweetest girls we have. A bit tall... but breeding her with Raffie who is so little fixes that :0)

I then saw that the "Three Stooges",  we call them that lovingly,  was back in the far pasture of our property. I love seeing them out there grazing. These three are our standard donkeys.. they have run of the entire property and are not penned like the minis. They watch over everyone and protect things. Teddy is the best ever at running off wild dogs or coyotes! I walked out closer to them and snapped a few photos. You can see that most everything is still dead.. but that the new spring grass is coming in, they love that new grass. This photo makes Valentine look so much smaller than Teddy and his Momma Cocoa, but really he isn't... hmm must have been standing in a hole. :0)

I then went back up by the house and played with the goats. Ok so I watched these three.. didn't play with them. This is our January babies.. C - H - A , Cathy Hank and Andy - they are wild little kids. Remember I wasn't home when they were born, they didn't have any hands on attention, as Hubby was working. So they just don't let us walk up and pick them up like the February Four do. OH well.. I have been trying work on them, actually held Cathy and Hank a few times. We are planning on keeping Cathy, but Hank and Andy need to find new homes in a couple of months. Aren't they cute, look at the boys little horns growing... :0)

Here is their Mom Lillie.. she was wanting attention, she is dying to be petted like we do Paintbrush and her babies... but she just is a bit skittish - like her babies I guess, she didn't have much hands on attention. So she lets us pet the end of her nose and then she runs off. Paintbrush was a show goat... so she loves attention :0)  Hopefully someday Lillie will trust us enough and loosen up! And I guarantee her next babies will be held a whole bunch!!

Speaking of held a whole bunch... my girl Lucy :0) One of Paintbrushes four. Hubby finally said out loud this week I could keep her!! yea!!! I was anyway but he said it too... She loves to be held, she actually will come to me most of the time, unless she is busy playing with her brothers and sister... loves to play you know. She rubs her head with me, and thinks it is funny to pull on my clothes. When I put her down she will paw at my feet until I pick her up again... Isn't she gorgeous? Just like her Mom. Her brothers, Ricky and Fred, her sister Ethel will all be going to live at a neighbors when old enough. So I will still get to visit them! But Lucy... she is staying right here!
Got a beautiful photo of Gato... you can really see her coloring in this photo... Stunning cat, I just wish she would leave me alone at night! She thinks it is just sooo funny right now to bite my toes, and claw my arms and face at 2, 3, and 4 am! NOT!!

My ham... I must have really taken a million photos of Libbie as a baby... cuz this girl knows how to pose! She goes through times where she isn't interested, but when she wants her photo taken she is a super model! She would have sat here an hour as long as I was snapping! LOL

Now Autie is a totally different story... I took a million photos and this is the only one that was worth showing! My blurry head dog! Moving constantly and really could care less that Mom wants to take his photo! Isn't he growing up fast???? He is a true sweetie. We have a while yet, but I just can't wait to see their babies!! I bet they are going to be adorable. LOL what puppies aren't!

Well I hope you enjoyed Animal Crackers this Saturday... Sorry again for playing with my camera, lighting and software. I am determined I am going to learn how to use my equipment and start taking better photos!!!

Don't forget about my Blog Candy... :0)

HUGS and have a wonderful weekend!

Animal Crackers Saturday

Wow.. another WET Saturday we have had over 3 inches of rain.. close to 3.5 in the last 48 hours. So the Donkeys and Goats were pretty much soaked -

Frio has become the center of attention in his pen... he DEMANDS all the attention once you enter - he is beyond friendly and really just adorable! He is a little trooper too - his Mom, Darlene will stand out and eat at the bale no matter what the weather, and that is why she is so "Big Boned"... yesterday during the hardest rain when every other Donkey and Goat on the property were in the barns... Darlene had her son out at the bale eating... He just stood there in the poring rain next to his Mom... gotta love this guy!

And he is doing a great job making friends... Carlos seems really interested in who is taking up so much attention.

And Pepita and Jolene, now these two staying in the barn most all day... they did get out in the light rain and ate and moved around, but Jolene doesn't like hard rain - so every time it would pick up she would head back into the barn.

We are still having issues with Pepita and her being skittish, and two days of heavy rain didn't help. But slowly you can tell she is wanting to get loving.  And when we "force" ourselves on her, she does like it. Jolene has always been the same way - she loves the attention, but you have to really work at giving it to her - We are determined to get Pepita to be  a loving little girl though - we have to she is so stunning I want her to be the best in attitude as well as looks!

And my two inside tornadoes... how can two such little things make such messes!! OH my  Libbie I guess is going through some sort of jealous issues, cuz she is doing things she has never done! Pulling trash out of the can, dragging laundry around the house, getting way to rough when playing with the cat and running and barking through the house.  And he shadow is right behind her at all times -  :0) They are both adorable and cute as well... and we have many hours of laughter and pleasure with them...

I just love this shot... Can't you just hear Autie  "ATTACK!!" and then there is Libbie... "Oh no, here he comes again..."

Well I am really starting to panic here... I leave in just a few days for CHA... and am I ready? Uh NO! So I am hoping today I can get all the laundry done and start packing. How do you get 10 days worth of clothes into one suitcase and stay under 50lbs? I have found myself holding up sweaters and trying to figure out which one weighs less.. LOL

Now because I will not be here next Saturday there will not be an Animal Crackers day, but I will be blogging from California and showing photos where I am, who I meet and most important.. maybe some of what I see new and great while there :0) Please visit me each day to share the fun with me...

Fiesta Friday!

Ok, I live near San Antonio Texas, and it is Fiesta week here. It is pretty much all you see, hear, and feel in this town. So I felt like I needed to at least give one "Viva Fiesta" even though I don't attend the parties, the parades or the festivals. Ok now to business!

I had fun with my card for today. It is for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge Blog. This week they have the theme of "Girls Just Wanna have Fun". Well my girl is a country girl and she has her fun on her pony! This High Hope stamp is just too cute, and this week I did her up all in lime green and pink. Now we all know Rodeo girls wear sparkles and bling anywhere they can, so after coloring her and her pony with my Copic markers, I added some of that bling with my Spica Glitter pens. I have tried to show a close up of this, sometimes it is very hard to photograph and you miss it, but I just love these pens... they add so much! I stacked up Bazzil card stock in two shades of pink and lime green. The pattern paper is again from DCWV Nana's Kids. I have really been using that paper lately! The "ribbon" is also a piece of the same Nana's Kids paper, I cut a stripe and edged with my Sakura Glaze pens added stitching on everything. Those fabulous flowers are from Prima. I am running so low on these large flowers I have to get more soon! The center is a stamp from Aud Designs Circle Sentiments. That I colored with Copics as well. I think it is pretty darn girlie!

Well today is friday and I have a ton to do, I have a Card Class to teach tomorrow afternoon so I need to get that all together, and need to do some housework, "yuck".
Rosie is doing so much better I think she is almost back to herself. Thanks so much for all the well wishes, I know they help!

Anyone up for Jump Rope?

I just love my Magnolia's Stamps! When I got this little "angel" I just fell in love with the jump rope and flowers, but always felt it needed to be 3-D. Well last night I inked her up and did just that!

I colored all the images with my copic markers. The house and girl are from Magnolia, the tree is Rubbernecker, Stamps by Judith for the grass, and the wording is Aud Designs. I use the circles set a lot! They punch out with my medium Fiskars squeeze punch perfect! (scallops are with my nestibilities). I used a piece of copper wire for the jump rope and attached prima flowers with brads. I put pop dots behind her and to hold down the "rope". The birds are done by hand with a glaze pen. And the of course I had to use some stickles on the angel wings.

I am pretty happy with how this one turned out. I would like to do a whole school yard! I worry about how big the card would have to be though :)

Well gotta run today - It is what I call "MIL" day. My Mother-in-Law and I run all our errands and do what shopping we can. I think today we are heading to the outlet malls. Lots of walking, but hopefully lots of deals as well!
